So if you haven't subscribed yet to the McShay report, please Google it, subscribe. kick in the one buck you got you got all my content until may 31st okay here we go the two minute
Starting point is 00:04:17 drill match today is we're we're calling it the power hour i've always kind i always kind of thrived in the two minute drill yeah you love this i'm not my thing i'm i know i'm a think you're a thinker and and god bless you that's why we compliment one another well okay here's the drill today i view like two minute drill to me is like all right we can tempo this thing i don't have coach my ear. I can kind of make decisions on the fly. I like the pressure of it. Idle times the devil's workshop with me. Okay. I just need to turn off my brain and just react. So this is what we're going to do today. Here's the premise. Okay. We just, I just finish up my team needs. Okay. You're going to see it throughout this show on, on the screen, if you're watching on YouTube or
Starting point is 00:05:03 Spotify. And we will walk through them all 32 if you're listening on a podcast. We appreciate all of that. I won't thank you again. But what I was trying to think, right? Like no one wants to go through, okay, in the AFC North, Baltimore Ravens have a need at guard and edge and interior defensive line. You know, like, it's just a boring show. So I said, we're not going to do a mock draft necessarily, but we are going to go through. And we're going to start at Tennessee. And it's going to be mensch on the clock, all 32 teams in 64 minutes.
Starting point is 00:05:36 And it's non-negotiable. It's not McShay time. And anyone who's been listening to this show understands, I say we'll do an hour. It's an hour and 40. It can't be today. They've got buttons. Tucker's back there and he's going to keep us on it. He's going to press a button.
Starting point is 00:05:49 The pick is in. On to the next. Next play. I love it. So we are held accountable. You will handle all the odd teams in terms of the draft order. I will handle all the even teams in terms of the draft order and we will go through. Every single pick in the first three rounds will do it by team.
Starting point is 00:06:08 I have already gone through and we will reflect it with these certain teams. The only thing I did in preparation for this is I made two trades and I assigned quarterbacks to the top four quarterbacks on my board to teams that I think there's a good, the likeliest chance that they wind up there. Okay. The only quarterback that is considered potential late first round because he got invited and accepted the invitation to the NFL draft in Green Bay. is Jalen Milrow. I have not assigned him a spot. That'll be fun to handle. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Okay. Mind mention, I'm forewarning you when we get to teams like, and we can't make a trade. Might not go in round one. Maybe he goes to the Rams at 26. Who knows? Maybe Shador's gone and at 21, the Pittsburgh Steelers. So we will handle that as we go. I am promising you we will do our best to not pick a player twice.
Starting point is 00:07:06 We will mention a lot of names as we go through. Here's the whole thing. If you get nothing else from this entire intro is we get ready to kick off the two minute drill and the power out. If you get nothing from anything I'm saying, it's that I really want, if you're a fan of a team,
Starting point is 00:07:21 for you to get a sense of what it could look like. We're going to assign names to picks, okay? It may not be the perfect match. It may not happen. But at least you'll understand. And as we talked through it and mentioned a couple names and we decide on one,
Starting point is 00:07:38 at least you'll understand that this is kind of the range and how things could look at the end of three rounds, okay? The pre-ramble is over. Tennessee is on the clock. Steve Mench, you have two minutes. They have two picks. By my account, they pick at one overall and 35. Those are their only two picks on the first two days of the draft. One's a done deal, right?
Starting point is 00:08:09 Cam Ward, Miami, quarterback. that's done. I mean, they get their franchise quarterback, we're all set. You get to the 35th pick and I was kind of torn. If you're telling me one of those edges is going to be there, and I mean Tennessee's James Pierce or Boston College as Donovan as a Ruku, I feel really good about those two picks. I think after that there's a little bit of a falloff,
Starting point is 00:08:30 and I might not like the value as much. So first of all, I think they want to get one of those edges, but if he's not there, keep the name Iowa Statewide receiver, Jaden Higgins, in mind. I think they need a number two wide receiver for Calvin Ridley. I think he comes in right away and you give Cam Ward a weapon on the outside. So you're going to go with Higgins there. Okay. And realistically, we don't think those edges are going to be there, do we?
Starting point is 00:08:57 I think there is a possibility that one of the two falls. That's my preference. And I have Pierce at 32 in my most recent rankings because of some of the, the external stuff. I have as a Raku at 33, because as I've said all along, I think he's right there on the fringe. I love the player.
Starting point is 00:09:21 The traits don't match up. And I think it might take him a minute to adjust. So let's put in some guidelines real quick. Based off these rankings, which you're working off of, but you can make the decision on anyone you want to go. It's just a guideline. I think we try to not pick
Starting point is 00:09:40 ahead of the top 32 players on my board. So that means that as a Raku would be available if you want to take them in that spot. But I probably at this point would feel a little bit better about Higgins, a wide receiver. But your choice, dealer's choice. Let's go Higgins. Let's go good about it. Let's get off on the right foot. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:58 I love it. So official. The pick is in. So I'm going to go on my board, but we've got to keep up with this. And I'm already running out of time. So typical me. Jaden Higgins is off the ball. board. Cam Ward is off the board. So now I am picking at number two, Cleveland Browns. I'm going with
Starting point is 00:10:22 what the rumors are, not because of the rumors, but because I believe it's the right thing to do. I think Travis Hunter is the most unique special player in this entire draft. So I'm taking Travis Hunter at number two, okay? I told you I already plugged in some quarterbacks in their spots. I'm going with Tyler Shuck, the Louisville quarterback, who's getting a little bit of late buzz if you haven't noticed yeah flying around a lot of teams there's a report diana russini's reporting there's a couple teams out there that one team i think one offensive coach in the league thinks he's the best passer in this class whatever the report was um we've explained to you our our love for tyler
Starting point is 00:11:02 shuck around the value you could get them and what we think the upside could be um that would be an awesome hall they wouldn't have to move that would give cleveland Travis Hunter, dynamic playmaker on offense, and the guy that they will play on defense in certain situations, that would give them a quarterback to develop with Joe Flacco there. And now you're looking at pick 67 and 94. I'm looking at the needs for Cleveland, okay? Cleveland, they got their quarterback, they got their wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:11:32 I need a left tackle. I need a corner. I need an edge. You're smiling because you think I'm going to run out. 67. I'm going to go with a there's no offensive tackle. So I'm going to go with edge. Oh, no, I'm looking at the wrong board. Oh, I'm going to go with Josh Connerley. He fell. Beautiful. No, I don't, that's too late. What am I talking about? 67. This is a tough. This is tough. Anthony Belton, offensive tackle, NC State. I'm like the Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:12:16 I'm like the Minnesota Vikings. All right. I need an edge or a edge or a cornerback. And I'm picking at 94. I'm going to go with Josiah Stewart, Michigan. Sorry. I love that pick. Love that pick.
Starting point is 00:12:33 They should be happy to get that guy. All right. You said no trades, but we do have some trades, right? Yes, I'll reflect it for you. You have the picket at number three. Correct. Make that now. I'm making my number three pick will be Abdul Carter for Penn State.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Let's not overthink it. He's one of the three best players, four best players in the draft. I think he's honestly the best player in the draft. So we're going to snatch him up right away. We're running to the podium to get him. I don't care about the fact that we already have too good pass rushers. I indicated this in my Mach 3.0. I think the giants are eager to trade back into the first round.
Starting point is 00:13:10 I have them trading with the Atlanta Falcons, a team that only has five picks. So the New York Giants then pick at 15. They take Shador Sanders. So they get Abdul Carter and Shador Sanders, who they just went out to Boulder to work out. And they now only have Munch the 99th pick remaining on day two of the draft. And we are taking, give me a Georgia card, baby. I wanted to be Tate Rattlitch. I hope he's there.
Starting point is 00:13:36 I think he's the better of the two, but if I end up with Dylan Fairchild, I'm happy. You got to shore up the middle of that offensive line. Either one of those guys, I think, can come in and start for you on day one and are going to be long-term starters. So you went with who? You give me Tate Rattlidge. I'm going to be greedy and say he falls to us.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Tate Rattlidge. What number is he here on my board? This is really good and exciting. where do you have a i got to know where he's on the board now i'm going to give you dill in fair i don't think tate route where is tate route which 82 oh thank you all right thank you there we go i just saw him just found them yeah exactly like you knew all right beautiful so so the the giants would end up with with their with their star edge rusher they do the right thing they get the one of the premier players chador sanders quarterback they move up and get them they they give away a third and next year second
Starting point is 00:14:44 is what we discussed in that move in mock 3.0. And then at 99, they continue to bolster that offensive line. I think Tucker's having fun. I think he can join this, man. Yeah, he's been trying to shut me up for six months. Moving along, boys. Six months he's been trying to shut me up. All right, New England Patriots.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Excuse me. They have four picks. This is going to be an event. New England Patriots at four. Man, there's just this little. tinge of Ashton Ginty in the air here in Massachusetts. I'm just telling you. There's like a little, but I'm going with Will Campbell,
Starting point is 00:15:30 the offensive tackle from LSU until I hear something different. Okay. Then at 38, the Patriots are back on the board. New England has got their left tackle. They need a wide receiver. We all know that. And then they need defensive line. At 38, 38, you already, I'm going to take Luther Berger.
Starting point is 00:15:52 wide receiver from Missouri. At that point, we can't draft the same player at any point, right? Correct. So, Jaden Higgins. I'm just going to be hard to juggle. And understand this, that, that's what they want. They want a big X.
Starting point is 00:16:11 They've talked about that. Then I'm at pick 69. So we've got a wide receiver. We've got our offensive tackle. I need defensive linemen. I'm going to go into that range. I'm going to go with Jordan Birch, Edge from Oregon.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Played some five, 30. I like him outside. What's that? At 38? No, no. It's 69. He's not going to be there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:42 And then at 77, at 77, I'm going to take Joshua Farmer from Florida State. Good pick. Barmore with the blood clots. I know you brought in Milton Williams, but let's make sure we sure. up that defensive front and we took two offensive players to start. So with the Patriots, they wind up getting their offensive tackled. They get a difference maker catching the ball.
Starting point is 00:17:03 He's not the ex-receiver that Braybill wants. But Luther Burden comes with, you know, he's a couple of his issues, but he's a damn good football player. I love this. I love you. I wonder if there's one time in the 16 times I do this and I don't get cut off. Go. Who's up? Jacksonville. Yep. And they're taking Jay and Syke. They're taking. They're taking. taking Mason Graham. We're not overthinking it, McShea. Yeah, they stink on past defense. They also stink on run defense. They've got to solidify the middle of that defensive line. In my mind, you bring in Mason Graham. I think he's the best available player. I think he fills a need. Let's not overthink it. You get to the pick 36. I'm taking the corner out of Ole Miss, Tray Amos.
Starting point is 00:17:50 I think he's a good fit for what they want to do. I think he's a good value at that point. I, listen, I got to this pick, and I'm looking at your board, and I'm looking at your rankings, and ours are a little bit different. But, you know, the fact that you have this guy where you have him, I was surprised to see Trey Harris' lady as he was. And I love the idea of getting the wide receiver from Ole Miss, Trey Harris, and putting him opposite of Brian Thomas. I think that would be a great pick for them.
Starting point is 00:18:18 So I'm going to go Trey Harris. Xavier Watts, really tempting at that point. I'll say that. I'm going to take Trey Harris there, and then I'm going to get another receiving option. I'm going to get Gunner Helm, the Texas tight end at Pick 88. Gunner Helm. I love that. That's a great pick.
Starting point is 00:18:39 That's a great pick. All right. So now we're... It's crushed it. Yeah. I guess we're on to the Las Vegas Regers. Go ahead, Tucker. Golden Child Mench, always finishing on time.
Starting point is 00:18:56 I'm going to have no idea where, when these. guys are all gone, though, just trying to juggle that. Who's not on the board anymore? Get out of my space. Vegas, they've got three picks, six, 37, and 68. Okay? At six, we're going with chalk here, Ashton Genty, okay? Difference maker, put him in the backfield.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Gino, we're trying to win now. We didn't bring in a spring chicken and head coach. We're not looking for five years down the road. Then it gets interesting. Vegas will look at their needs, right? Vegas has a need at wide receiver and cornerback in addition to that running back spot. And don't be like Will Howard would be interesting with that third pick. I'm starting to get the sense that's going to be a Saturday pick if that occurs.
Starting point is 00:19:43 So I'm going to go with wide receiver here picking at 37 overall. A couple wide receivers have come off the board already. I don't love that. I think it's too early. Yeah, it's tough. This is where it gets tough. I like it, though. I like tough.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Tough is good. The wide receivers, this is showing you that there's going to be a big market for him at that point, right? Yep. Vegas. They're a man team. You know what? I'm going to throw out the 40-yard dash time. I just love them on tape.
Starting point is 00:20:21 A. Z. Thomas, cornerback from Florida State. I'm going to go. I think cornerback could be the spot that they have to go there because the wide receiver position is not available. The guys that you want based on what we're doing at least. what we're doing at least. But I would love Higgins there too. And then with that final pick for Vegas at 68, looking at a wide receiver,
Starting point is 00:20:41 I'm going to go Jack Besh. Really consistent physical slot receiver. I think that that would be a nice, and a guy who's ready to play right away from Gino Smith. Like it. That's good. That counts. You made it.
Starting point is 00:21:01 I did. The Jets are on the board, man. I'm not overthinking. I'm taking the right tackle for Missouri, Armand Membue. Let's solidify the offensive line. You know, the tight ends are tempting there. They really are, but we're going to take care of that right now. We're going to get Elijah Arroyo out of Miami with that 42nd pick,
Starting point is 00:21:21 the 10th pick in the second round. We're going to land Elijah Arroyo because someone's going to take Mason Taylor ahead of him. By the way, when I originally went through this, this is what's interesting. I wanted Luther Burden there. I thought Luther Burden would be a good fit. And then I could get Terrence Ferguson later on, the Oregon tight end. I kind of like that bundle. Now I'm scrambling.
Starting point is 00:21:42 So now I got to look for a wide receiver. Welcome to my word. Because I said, don't prep for this. Don't prep for this is what I said. And that's why I'm running late and you're the teacher's pet. And Tucker loves you because you finish on time. All right. So we're going to go.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Go ahead. I don't love this one as much. Yeah, we got to help each other out a little bit here. I'm going to take, I love Eroyo, by the way. I think that's a steal where they get him, and he comes in, you get your tight end right away. I'm going to take Stavion Williams, the wide receiver from TCU. I think this is a little early for them,
Starting point is 00:22:14 but the potential, the upside is there for him to be an absolute weapon. You get him, you get opposite to Gary Wilson. I just think, I don't hate that pick there. I would rather the Byrd and Ferguson bundle, but I'll take the Eroyo Williams. Tucker, you're telling me he came in under two minutes. I've got a real feel for it. Carolina Panthers on the clock, number eight.
Starting point is 00:22:43 It's interesting, but I'm not going to go. Yeah, edge, Jalen Walker. Let's not mess around. They need an edge. They get an edge. That past defense was atrocious. Last in the league, I believe, last year. So Carolina, they get their edge.
Starting point is 00:22:59 They need safety, receiver, corner, or three of the spots, an interior defensive lineman. They've got two more picks. 57 and 74. I think I had that wrong on the list I said. All right, 57. And I said they need safety, a wide receiver corner. 57.
Starting point is 00:23:24 I'm trying to pick a player that's going to be in that range. You got wide receiver Jalen Knoll from Iowa State. It's Kevin Winston. I feel like, oh, that would be a good player. for them. Mm-hmm. 57. I'm going to go,
Starting point is 00:23:46 I'll go, I'll go, no, I'm going to go wide receiver. I'm going to go Jalen, I'll go Jalen Knoll there. Okay? And then I come back to final. Yeah, I mean, I love him.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Yeah. 4-3-9, so best route runner and maybe arguably in this class. But then I'm at 74 overall, and I still need a safety or a cornerback. So I need a defensive back at, at,
Starting point is 00:24:11 pick 74. I'm going to, let's see, Caroline. I'm going to go with Darian Porter, former wide receiver, Tariq Woolen types, it's 6-3, 195 pounds, rents a 4-3. I'm going to bet on his upside. I like that pick. I'm going to go Darian Porter there.
Starting point is 00:24:48 Man, I'm struggling with what they do here. The Saints? Because the Saints could do. Do they take a corner here? Do you go Will Johnson? Hell no. I know. The workout number scare me. It just feels early, right? So quarterback's their number one need. We're going to address quarterback.
Starting point is 00:25:10 I don't know if we're going to do it at nine. So we'll talk about that in a second. Then you get to edge. I love Michael Williams from Georgia here. I think that's ultimately the pick. The guy that's sneaky, I think, to keep in mind. remember, this team was 31st in the league and yards allowed per rush. And they went out and they got Devon Godshaw. They traded for Devon Godshaw from the Patriots.
Starting point is 00:25:32 And I think that helps. I think Walter Nolan is just lurking in the shadows as a guy that they could bring in and really help their run defense and really make a difference maker on that defensive line. That's what they need. I'm going to go with Michael Williams. That's going to be my pick there. And then with the second pick, we're going to make a trade here. McShay, you want to announce the trade?
Starting point is 00:25:53 Yes, so the second pick, the New Orleans Saints traded up from 40 to 24. They did give away their third round pick. They had two third round picks. So now New Orleans is picking at 9, 24, and 93. They got Jackson Dart at 24. They move up with Minnesota. Minnesota moves back, and they recover recoup a third round pick. They don't, Minnesota does not have, they only have four picks.
Starting point is 00:26:23 fewest amount of picks, number of picks of any organization in the NFL heading into the draft. Yeah. So the pick is, do we? Jackson Dart. We get that quarterback. I think that's, I mean, it's a great move. If they can get them at that point in the draft, I think this is an absolute home run for them. We'll move on quickly because I don't want to run out of time here. They need a corner in the worst way. So I don't think when you get to 93 and if the draft falls this way for them, they've got to address the corner position. Quincy Riley out of Louisville. I think he could be a good match for what they do. I think he's a good value at that point.
Starting point is 00:26:57 I think he could come in and play right away. He may never be a number one corner, but I think he can help you out as a rookie. All right, Chicago Bears, we've got a lot of picks here. Wish me luck. Go, go, go. Tyler Warren is not off the board. Let me make this perfectly clear.
Starting point is 00:27:17 If you're a Bears fan and you're watching this, if Tyler Warren's there, you're thrilled. If he's not, I still think it's tight end here. I think they're going to draft Colston Lovewood. It's probably the more likely because I think Tyler Warren goes seven to the Jets, but we'll have to see. Oh, really? This is a tight end here, okay? This is a tight end pick at this spot at number 10 for Chicago.
Starting point is 00:27:38 So I'm looking at Chicago's needs, and that's not really, that's, I've got the fourth one. And that's kind of a little bit of a luxury, but my goodness, that would be a great pair. Now we're looking at running back, left tackle, edge. We've got three more picks for Chicago, 41, 39 and 41, okay? So at 39, tackle edge, 39. We already took Connerley, right? Yeah. I'm taking my boy, Ursery.
Starting point is 00:28:14 Ariante Ursulae. Offensive tackle from Minnesota. Told you, I think this guy, when we look back, one of the top three tackles from this year's class. So you got the offensive tackle there. And he's a left tackle. That's what they need, okay? then I need changes the next pick.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Go ahead. Running back and edge. Their next pick is 41. Shit, I'm taking Travion Henderson. Yeah. I don't know. I would have taken them at 39. So call Travion Henderson 39, Arionte, Urstery, 41.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Okay? Those are the picks, Tucker and Eduardo, when we do our clips. Feeling great about this. Like Ryan Poles is loving it. And now I've got, I'm looking at Edge. or wide receiver with that final pick for Chicago in the first two days, and that it's a pick 72. I'm going to go with Oladajo.
Starting point is 00:29:10 I'm sorry, Olu, Femi, Ola Femi, Ola Dejo. Stop cutting me off. The Bears just cleaned up. Tyler Warren, Trayvion Henderson, Ariate Ursary. And Femi, Ola, Dejo. the 49ers organization was really comfortable with the idea that we could target Ursary in the second round and we're now getting information that's no longer possible. So here's what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:29:44 I was thinking Will Johnson, the corner from Michigan. That's what I was going to go with this pick if it fell that way. Things have changed. What's that? I don't think they're going to do that anyway. So this will be a more accurate reflection. You will see this as a little bit of a reach. I don't see it that way.
Starting point is 00:30:01 I'm going Kelvin Banks, the offensive tackle from Texas. I think that's very much in play for San Fran. So now, I mean, do we target a quarter, a corner at 43? I know who I'm already getting with 100. It's one of your guys. It's one of your guys that you like. The corner at 43, I mean, we're looking at Tray Amos off the board, Aiziz Thomas off the board.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Oh, you know who's not, though? Savone Revel, my guy, Savon. I can see them taking Savon Reble. in the second round there. Now, I'd also thought that they, you know, they could use an edge here. I had Ola Dejo or Birch off the board.
Starting point is 00:30:45 So now we're at 75. I'm looking for what else, whatever are my other options there? Savian Jones, Elisio. Like it. Yeah. We'll take him. We'll get him there.
Starting point is 00:30:58 And then for the last pick, I'm going to address that inside linebacker position. How many picks? South Carolina. The compensatory 100th pick over. roll. Yeah. South Carolina's Demetrius Knight comes off the board there. I like that, Mench. We had to adjust. Yeah, two minute drill. We're on the fly here. I love it. So you wound up with offensive left tackle in Kelvin Banks. Yep. You finished with Demetrius Knight,
Starting point is 00:31:24 the linebacker. Who were your two picks in the middle again? Savon Reble was the corner from East Carolina. I love like his potential. And then Savion Jones from LSU. That's a good draft. That's a good I can't wait to listen to this back and hear how many times I get cut off mid-sentence. Don't get used to this big boy. All right, Dallas is on the clock. 12. They've got three picks, 12, 44, and 76. I wouldn't make this pick.
Starting point is 00:31:55 I think they could make this pick. So I'm going to go with it to reflect what kind of the sense I'm getting. But I don't have any inside information. It makes sense in Tet McMillan, 6-4, 219 pounds, good compliment to C.D. Lam. So I'm going to go, even though I have 10 on my board at 26 overall, I'm going to give them 12 to Dallas. Some teams like them a lot more than I do.
Starting point is 00:32:22 A lot of teams are kind of in my range, too. Then at 44, I'm looking at Dallas's needs. Dallas is wide receiver, which we just covered, guard, edge, basically offensive line, edge, and interior defense. O line, D line. So at 44, I'm going to take Donovan Jackson. I'm going to take Donovan Jackson there. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:32:52 Let me consider because I'm going to do the combo picks. Dallas then picks it 76. Yep, I'm going to take Donovan Jackson there. Guard out of Ohio State. Elite, elite run blocker and just a good all-around football player. It gives you some position flexibility, which they love in Dallas. And then finally, with that third pick, we're looking at defensive linemen for Dallas. It picks 76 overall.
Starting point is 00:33:18 I'm going to go here. I'm going to go with Omar Norman Lott. I actually like that fit for him, too, in that scheme. Third round, Omar Norman Lott coming out of Tennessee, a little bit, you know, sawed off. Tasmanian devil plays his tail off, instinctive player, just great motor. Yeah, I like that.
Starting point is 00:33:44 That's kind of for Dallas. I don't care. I don't care. care that you're going to be mad about it. I don't care that you're going to tell me it's too soon. I don't care that this isn't what's going to happen, right? I get to make the pick here. This is what I think they should do, right? Yeah, but staying within reason because we're trying to serve the end. We're trying to serve everybody here, but within reason. All right, I'll let you call me out then. Josh Simmons, the guy that I've loved from the jump, Miami,
Starting point is 00:34:26 desperately needs a tackle with Toronto Armstead retiring. Kelvin Banks have already taken early too. He's off the board. What are we doing a tackle? Can't wait to the second round because the best second round tackle, Ursary is already off the board. They're in a tough spot here, man. You know, like you could try and trade back.
Starting point is 00:34:41 We're not doing trades. I think they got to find an offensive tackle on this draft. The team's trying to trade up might be for quarterback from round two. And if you move back there, you might not get them anyway. Correct. So, I mean, you're waiting. into the third round now, it gets really interesting. I mean, we're talking, if you're going to take an
Starting point is 00:34:59 offensive tackle, right, in that 48 round range, you're talking about Marcus Bo, who might be a guard. Go ahead. You don't let's tell me. Listen, nothing will shock me with these offensive tackles. That's what I'm saying, that would be very high, and I don't think it will necessarily reflect, but like
Starting point is 00:35:15 might not be that high. It's not high based on the tape, it's high on the complete, the total picture. That's, that's what I think. Okay. So I'm going to go Simmons there. He's going to come off the board, I think, in the first round at some point and i'm gonna and i'm gonna do it there so now we're talking about at 48 they need safety or guard so man i'm good i'm done i'll take bow there i'll take bow and kick him inside to guard there to use my first two picks on improving that offensive line you realize too jalen ramses gone
Starting point is 00:35:51 yeah no i do okay i do i mean 48 we're looking at savone revel i've already taken tray amos already gone A Z Thomas already gone. Okay. Yeah, no, you're right. I just wanted, I don't want dolphins fans to jump in here and be like, Mitch is crazy. Is he not up a date? Is he so deep inside his war room?
Starting point is 00:36:15 Ha ha. Go ahead, finish up. You slow me down. 98's on the clock. We're going to get a corner or a safety at 98. We're going to, I like the safety. We're going to go, Yonis Sanker. That's what we're going to take.
Starting point is 00:36:34 The safety out of Virginia and Yonis Sanker. All right, I'm trying to find him on this board. He's at 100, I think. He's at 104. 104. I like you on a second. I'm glad you're keeping track, man, because I have no idea. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:36:51 Now, Indianapolis is up. We're thrilled because, honestly, the way things are rolling right now, the Colts really want a tight end and a difference maker. It doesn't matter who's a quarterback. They need a guy in the middle of the field. There's been a lot of talk that Warren's going seven, and you could see Colston Lovelland go 10 to the Bears. But in this mock, Colson Lovewain is available.
Starting point is 00:37:12 So the Colts take care of that tight end spot at pick 14. Now we're on the second round. Pick 45. Edge, offensive tackle. Basically, edge offensive line and linebacker, okay? Pick 45. The edges JTT from Ohio State. And there's not like Braden Swinson.
Starting point is 00:37:36 I feel like it's a little high. I like him a lot. Nick Scorton, I'm not the biggest Nick Scorton guy. Excuse me, offensive line. has been ravaged. I'm going to go, I'll go Nick Scorton here because I think that's something
Starting point is 00:37:55 that could happen, okay? Okay. Even though I don't rank them as high as others, okay? And then with their third pick at number 80 overall, I need an offensive lineman or a linebacker.
Starting point is 00:38:08 I'm going to go Charles Grant developmental offensive tackle from William and Mary, our rival. Yeah. Very athletic, could be a year away, but very athletic looking towards the future. Like it.
Starting point is 00:38:24 All right. I don't love the Falcons don't have a first round pick. They got the 34th pick in our scenario. We're looking for an edge or a corner right now. We should say that just to remind people, if you're just jumping in or you forgot, Atlanta is now picking at 34 because they traded out. They only had five picks coming into this draft. got an additional pick in this year's draft. They traded out with the Giants moving up for Shador Sanders.
Starting point is 00:38:59 So they now pick it 34, their original second round pick, which is 46. Then they have, if it's not the first pick in the third round, it's one of, it's picks, yeah, pick 65, the first pick in the third round. So now they've got capital, and they got a second round pick for next year if they were to make a move like this. Go ahead. Actually, I'm glad you just bought me a little time there because I was missing a corner. We got Benjamin Morrison from Notre Dame to sit. I know I tried to give them away, but it was a man-to-man scheme, and so it didn't work. Yeah, and this may not be the perfect fit, but I like the value, and I like the player there.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Yeah, I'm going to go Benjamin Morrison. Okay. From Notre Dame. I mean, that's the, it's the need they need, the need to fill. Then we're going to have to find an edge. I think we have to find an edge with that second pick, which is the 46th overall. I like Braden Swenson there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:54 The LSU Ed, Graydon Swinson. And with our the first pick in the third round, we want to get a player, man. A tight end, a center. You know who I'm going to go with? And I think that they need a center. I think this guy's underrated.
Starting point is 00:40:09 I like Jared Wilson from Georgia. I think he's just, he's a one-year starter. He is just scratching the surface of what kind of player he's going to be going forward. Great athlete. I think he's, flashes on tape. I actually like his tape, I think, than some other people do. I wouldn't be surprised if
Starting point is 00:40:26 went in the second round, but I'm saying everyone saying he's going on the third. Jared Wilson, Georgia Offensive Center. It's weird, how good I am. What number? Oh, there is, 78 overall. Okay. All right. Cute. All cute. This episode is brought to you by Walmart. Life gets busy. We could all
Starting point is 00:40:47 use an extra hour or save one. With Walmart Express Delivery, you can do just that. Simply place your order and in as fast as an hour, It's at your door. Use promo code express for free delivery on your first order. No hassle, no stress, just more time for what matters most to you.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Visit walmart.com to order now. Promotion valid for first express delivery order. $50 minimum. Subject to availability, restrictions apply. Arizona's up. Picks 16. Arizona has needs a corner, linebacker, guard, wide receiver, interior. defensive line. Those are their top five needs in my opinion. You're picking at, what I say,
Starting point is 00:41:32 16 overall. I mean, Jaday Barron's still there. And so is Will John. I'm going to go with Will Johnson here because I think this is a scenario that could play out. And I like Joday Barron more, but Will Johnson for that scheme, I think would be absolutely beautiful. So, and they have their nickel that they already drafted in the third or fifth round. So I am, I'm good there. So we got Will Johnson outside corner in his own, his own heavier scheme. Then Arizona with its second pick is at 47, okay?
Starting point is 00:42:13 We got our corner, linebacker, guard, wide receiver. These wide receivers are scarce, aren't they? I like to enjoy it. And these wide receivers are scarce, and that second round edge group isn't as good as you think. It gets, it heats back up in the third. wide receiver, guard, linebacker. I'm going to go with the Arizona guy.
Starting point is 00:42:47 Big Jonah. I love that thing. I was just to suggest it, yeah. Big Jonah from Arizona. Stay home. Inside the guard. Yeah, I love that pick. Okay.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Then we are the third pick for Arizona is a third and final pick in the first two days is a pick 78 overall. I've need linebacker, wide receiver, interior defensive line. And I'm going to go here. We have some options here. I like this. Backer, wide receiver, interior defensive line for the Arizona Cardinals. Ah.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Yeah, I hear you. The wide receivers are tough. Brutal. I got rapids too. And the interior defensive line. I'll go with Jay. That's early, though. Now, I'm going to go Jalen Lane, Virginia Tech.
Starting point is 00:43:48 I'll explain why I love that guy so much. Maybe it's a little early, but I'm going to go with Jalen Lane there. Good. Go with your guy. That hit you twice with it. Tucker's ruthless. Just ruthless. So in this situation, the Bengals are sitting there, and you can get Mike Green from Marshall or Shamar Stewart from Texas A&M.
Starting point is 00:44:12 I'm taking Mike Green simply because he's the higher player on your board. He's the higher player on my board. But this is a home run. I mean, this is a dream scenario that they get to choose between two of those edges. So that's who I think they're going to go with with the first pick. That's 17th overall. we get into the second round. 49 overall.
Starting point is 00:44:30 You go linebacker, safety. It's tough, man. I had it all planned out for my first teams. Now I'm sweating like you have been. Let's see. I'm going to go Kevin Winston from Penn State for that second pick. Okay. I know it's a little bit early.
Starting point is 00:45:00 I really like him. And I think if he plays this year, he's coming off a knee injury. He missed most of the season with the knee injury. His tape from last year is awesome. If he doesn't have the knee injury, I think he goes. higher. So if we're taking the safety there, we're looking for a linebacker around 81. Man, Demetri's Knight already off the board. That might be tough. We might have to go in other directions. A guard and interior defensive lineman? You already took Norman Law, right?
Starting point is 00:45:36 Yes. You suck. I know. Oh, we'll go Dylan Fairchild, the other guard from Georgia. A little early, but it feels indeed not that early. He's at 96. All right. This is going to be a wild ride. Okay. Seattle, you know, making their moves, traded DK. They've got five picks in the top 92. Hang with me here. No way you make it. Seattle fans, hang with me. Pick 18 overall. This is the hardest one to make of all of them. They need guard, wide receiver, interior defensive line, corner. Listen, Listen, Snides, man.
Starting point is 00:46:29 John Schneider, you didn't expect Jaday Barron to be here. I'm, oh, let me look at what's available. I'm taking Jaday Barron here. I know it's crazy. I'm taking Jada Barron here because I'm seeing this cornerback market, and I think teams are preparing for this. Now I'm up at 50, kind of the middle of the second round, okay? And I've taken care of corner, which we didn't think we were just,
Starting point is 00:47:00 now any guard, receiver, interior defensive linemen. picking at 50, there's no guard still available. This is becoming a trend and a problem. Wide receiver, interior, no wide receivers, becoming a problem. IDL, oh, perfect. Alfred Collins. Alfred Collins. Good pick.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Defensive tackle, interior defensive lineman from Texas. I don't know that he'll still be available there, but I had to catch a break here. Then I still need wide receiver and guard. I'm picking again, 52, two spots later. and I'm going with Ozzie Tripillo. Offensive topic, Boston College. I think that would be a perfect fit for them. So you get your offensive tackle there.
Starting point is 00:47:44 Still need a wide receiver or guard. There was nothing available. But we got to tackle like we're doing things here, folks. We're picking at 82. We're now in the third round. 82. I'm looking at wide receiver, maybe a lineback, or maybe an edge. 82.
Starting point is 00:48:00 there's still no freaking wide receivers. I'm going to take Torrey Horton from Colorado's sake and some late buzz too. I like Tori Horton. I told you, I think he's underrated better than Julian Royals and some other guys, in my opinion. And then at 92, 92, we are going to take what's best available. Give me something in this range. We're talking about linebacker, guard. How do you feel about Emery Jones kicking inside?
Starting point is 00:48:32 Emery Jones, done, done. Now we've solidified our offensive line moving forward. You crushed that. You nailed it. Dizzy. All right, go. You're up. All right, Tampa Bay, 19.
Starting point is 00:48:50 Inside linebacker, Jehad Campbell, if he's not hurt. I'm talking to our medical people. I'm thinking about it there. But at the same time, in this scenario, Shamar Stewart from Texas A&M is still on the board. I think you've got to go, Shm. Stewart here. I think you just, that's the pick. You take Shamar Stewart. Just makes too much sense to me. That's your second need, arguably. There you go.
Starting point is 00:49:15 So now we're going to the 53rd pick overall. Do we have an inside linebacker around that time? Do we have a corner that we like? Man, this is interesting. What pick is it? 52. 53. Cuesinger. Is he still on the board? He is, but he is. I've got to right to 62, but a lot of people think he's going to be a top 50 pick. That wouldn't be a problem.
Starting point is 00:49:49 I love him. I love him. We're taking sweats with him. Thanks for helping me out. I appreciate it. You're welcome, bud. So now we go to 84. That's great. Ooh, your guy.
Starting point is 00:49:59 I'm going to pay you back. Jordan Hancock. We're going to take the corner out of Ohio State, kind of a late riser. Had a great year. Jordan Hancock, the corner from Ohio State goes at Tampa, at 84 overall. All right. I don't know how stealing my guy from me is helping me out. Denver picking it 20.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Denver has three picks in the first two days of the draft. They have seven picks overall. They pick it 20, 51, and 85. Their needs, running back, wide receiver. I've been told by people, Sean Payton believes in what he's doing so much. He'll get some cats later on the weapons. but it is going to be interesting, okay? They also need linebacker,
Starting point is 00:50:46 interior defensive line, and corner. So we're looking to fill three of those needs, ideally, and try to be representative of what they will do. At pick 20, I'm looking at this board. Matthew Golden is still there. Omari and Hampton is still there. Oh, that's a tough one. And there's no one that jumps out,
Starting point is 00:51:07 Walter Nolan with the character stuff, Jihad Campbell with the, I'm going to go, I'm going to go with, I'm going to go with, I'm going to go with, I'm already in Hampton here, running back North Carolina. I actually love the pick.
Starting point is 00:51:21 I don't know that that's what they're going to do. We'll see when it all shakes out. Then with their second pick, Denver is picking at 51, okay? The Broncos still have a wide receiver need. And I'm stuck because there is literally is not a wide receiver that's even in the range. So I've got to start looking on the defensive side. interior defensive line, linebacker, corner
Starting point is 00:51:50 at 51. I'm going to tie Leak Williams. I love that pick, actually. Ohio State. Love that pick for Denver. Okay? So we crossed off running back and IDL. And now we're at wide receiver or linebacker.
Starting point is 00:52:05 It's not going to be a linebacker. We're going to wait until the fourth round on that. So Denver is going to look at wide receiver and maybe a corner. They're picking at 85. in that range. I don't see a wide receiver because we've got guys already, like Jalen Lane is gone. Savion Williams, gone.
Starting point is 00:52:23 Jack Ben. I'm going to have to take a, I mean, am I going to reach? I just don't understand. I just don't understand what you do in this situation. I'm actually going to surprise people. I'm going with Harold Fanon. I'm taking a tight end.
Starting point is 00:52:48 The 10 second spread on those rapid ups was the best thing in this whole pod. All right, we're going to Pittsburgh. We only got two picks, so I got time to kill. I, Walter Nolan still. Yeah, Walter Nolan's still on the board here. Hey, no, no, this is the perfect time to reset. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Yep. Jaylen Milrow is on the board. Right. We have seen, and we have the foresight. We don't think it's Jackson Dart here, so I don't think it'll happen. I don't think Pittsburgh, let's not go with Jaylen Milrow here. But it's something to consider if they're able to move back. as some kind of long-term possibility still think aaron rogers is going to be the quarterback there but
Starting point is 00:53:28 i did want to remind us that we've got to get jalen milrow off this board at some point we do i don't think it's here and and walter no one's out there and i think he's a could be a real good pick there i actually think derrick harmon out of oregon fits what they do a little bit better he's a little bit bigger i think he's a little more versatile i love the sealers getting derrick harmon from oregon at 20 21 overall now we're looking, it gets interesting. Are we going to get a quarterback? Are we thinking about a Will Howard? If we're not going to, are we going to take a Will Howard at 83rd overall?
Starting point is 00:54:02 I don't know. I don't love it. I'm looking for a guy. I love Will Howard coming in as a great backup and maybe getting some starts. I'm not sure he's a developmental guy that Pittsburgh really wants. Is there a running back? That, you know, yes, there is. RJ Harvey, Central Florida.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Steelers pick up RJ Harvey from Central Florida, get him with the 83rd pick overall. Love that. Hampton was Hampton was Hampton goes a pick earlier and it was going to be I mean really contemplating them taking him at 21 but he's already off the board.
Starting point is 00:54:40 All right. On to the next pick. Chargers. Joe Ortiz our good buddy, Joe Ortiz. What's he cooking up? Yeah, what's he cooking up this draft? I love it. Harbaugh is going to be in his ear. You know that's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:55:05 All right, tight end, interior defensive line, wide receiver, edge. Those are some of the positions I think they could be looking at. They pick at 22 and then 55 and 86. Chargers have 10 picks in this draft, but it's backloaded. Okay. So at 22, this is a great opportunity, man. The tight ends are off the board. I got it.
Starting point is 00:55:22 But interior defensive lineman, Walter Nolan, wide receiver. I got Matthew Golden and a mecca Buka. Right? Ooh, yeah. I'd like those options.
Starting point is 00:55:41 I'm just like, I'm going Walter Nolan here. Haven't seen anyone mock it. I just, the talent's too good. Right. I like that. Trust your board.
Starting point is 00:55:56 22. He's paid the price. I think he's one of the 15 best players in this draft. Okay, so that's a 22. 55 now. We got our interior defensive linemen. I'm crossing things off. I'm moving, I'm shaking.
Starting point is 00:56:08 I'm fielding phone calls. I'm trying to figure out if I want to move back at 55. I'm going to stay home. I've got needs at tight end, wide receiver, and edge. I don't see a wide receiver. Tight end. Nope. Edge.
Starting point is 00:56:25 I'm going, I'm going, that's the problem if you don't take. one of those receivers, bud. This is a great exercise. I know, man. JT. still there, the edge from Ohio State. And that's what I'm going to take, JTT, T. Edge, Ohio State. And then I get to pick 86.
Starting point is 00:56:50 I'm trying to stay true to the board and not get carried away. Right. I've already taken an edge, so I need a tight end, a wide receiver. There's no wide receivers. I'm stealing them from you. Terrence Ferguson. Terrence Ferguson. Yeah, that's a good pick.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Yeah, I don't know that he lasts that long, but go ahead. All right, we're on the Green Bay. So we're looking at corner. It's an Oregon tight end, I should say, in case, you know, Oregon tight end, Terrence Ferguson, fastest 40 of the tight ends. That would be, that would be a good pick up there. Green Bay, corner edge, interior defensive line, offensive tackle. They are picking at 23.
Starting point is 00:57:35 Maxwell Hirston. Great. Kentucky. They were that done and done. So at 54, we're now looking at. Yeah, Jair Alexander. We got our new Jairair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Why not? Oh, this is Green Bay. This is kind of working out nice. 54, they get Toledo defensive tackle, Darius Alexander. I think is a good fit for what they do. Good value. Home run. So what else we got left?
Starting point is 00:58:06 Now, we've got an edge or an offensive tackle at 87. Let's see. Captain Jack, the Ohio State guy's getting some play. We'll go Captain Jack with that, with the 87th pick overall. Okay. I like it. It's a good, yeah, right down the middle.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Yeah. Good job, babe. This job, babe. Here we go. I love Stewart there, but you already took him. All right, reminder, Minnesota traded back from 24. They only had four picks, a few of any organization. organization coming into this draft.
Starting point is 00:58:52 They recoup one. They recoup a third round pick. They're picking it 71 after their 40th pick with New Orleans that they tradeback. So 40, 71, 97 for the Vikings, okay? They have a cornerback need, which there isn't a cornerback at this spot. There isn't a cornerback until we get to the end of this drill in the third round. This is wild. This is something to keep in mind as we go into the draft.
Starting point is 00:59:17 It takes exercise like this, and this is what team, they don't do it this way. exactly, but teams go through all the possibilities. And that's why you're talking about combination picks. If we don't take one here, what are we going to get? Maybe we don't get one. All right. So interior defensive line offensive line, we're pick 40.
Starting point is 00:59:35 I'm going to Kenneth Grant. Okay. I know, I got lucky he's still here. I don't know that he will be in the real deal, but let's just call it an interior defensive lineman Kenneth Grant there. Wouldn't stun me if he's there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:50 Yeah. So we've got the IDL there. Offensive line and safety. My next pick is at 71. So I'm going to try to go on the range. Offensive line. Watts is still on the board, right? They're in a good position, man. They can just kind of take what they want. They did such a great job.
Starting point is 01:00:14 I think, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to get crazy. I'm taking Cam Scataboo here Oh Value pick Yeah I'm taking Cam Scadaboo In the third round You're trying to make nice with Tucker, I get it
Starting point is 01:00:40 And then 97 overall is where I'll get my cornerback Jacob Parrish corner from Kansas State 5-9.5-191 pounds But he's a burner 435 There we go This is rough man you're the Houston Texans and you're looking for an offensive tackle. I mean, what are you doing?
Starting point is 01:01:09 They're all gone, right? I mean, they're all gone. Any of the guys that you think... That's what we talked about. That's why tackles go earlier than they should. Quarterbacks and tackles go earlier than they should. Right. So we'll move on.
Starting point is 01:01:23 You know, you got to just move on. So they could go into your offensive linemen. I don't think they're going to do that at this point in the draft. Although... No, no. I've heard. a lot about that Alabama connection, get the offensive front
Starting point is 01:01:37 version of the defensive front version they got in Will Anderson. You like Booker? For them, yeah, I think that that would be a really good fit. All right, we'll go Booker. It's 25. I don't love Garland. I'd say it's close to 50-50 if it's
Starting point is 01:01:50 Booker or another player. Okay. We'll go Booker. That's fine. Jump it down my throat. All right, it's 58. Let's see if there's an offensive tackle. We want to take a swing on there. Ozzie Tripillos.
Starting point is 01:02:03 already off the board, right? Yeah. I took Marcus Boe earlier. We're still not so well on offensive. Fine, fine. Yeah, we're not on the offensive tackle market right now. So running back, running back at 58. What do we got?
Starting point is 01:02:17 Caleb Johnson. You get awesome options. You've got Judkins and Johnson. All right. I'm looking down the board. I was just looking at what was at 58. I didn't realize it was already gone. Who was the other guy?
Starting point is 01:02:29 Junkins and who was the other one? And Caleb Johnson. I'm taking Juggins. Yeah. Yeah, I'm taking Juckins. You're acting like this is a struggle for you. You just got the best guard. You just got the best guard and you got one of the top four running backs in the class.
Starting point is 01:02:44 Go ahead. Here's my process. I look at the pick. I look at where your ranking is and then I work myself backwards. Pick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. Oh, my God. 80. All right, 89 and then 89.
Starting point is 01:02:57 79 and then 89. All right, so 79. Oh, you took rent. You're killing me. That's the That seemed intentional, Tucker. That seemed intentional, Tucker. That seemed intentional. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:17 I mean, they're in a bad spot here. It's 79. We're trying to get a wide receiver, an edge and interior defensive lineman. Oh, this is going to get harder as we go to. No shit. Jay Lane, already off the board, Jack Sawyer off the board, Josiah Stewart off the board. Ty Robbins? That's a reach.
Starting point is 01:03:39 Man, this is brutal. This thing up, huh? I really don't know what to do. I mean, man, you don't have to draft for you? Just give me some, give me some love. Give me some, uh, consider a running back. You got a guard. You need a wide receiver, an edge and deteriorate defensive lineman.
Starting point is 01:03:59 You're picking it what? What about David Walker, Edge? Good, done. David Walker, Edge. He is gone at 79. So at 89, who do we got for wide receiver at 89? Toy Horton's gone. Yeah, I like Jaylon Royals.
Starting point is 01:04:15 I like Jaylon Rawlins. I like him more than you do. It only took me 25 minutes. I'm talking about preferential treatment. All right. Here's the bind that I'm in. I don't hear it now. I don't think the Rams are going to take Jalen Milro,
Starting point is 01:04:37 but where are we going to put him? They're not taking him a 20. I don't think they're taking him at 26. I'm not doing that to them. All right, Rams, 26. I am looking at this now. We don't pick again until the 90s. until 90 and 101.
Starting point is 01:04:57 I've got needs it corner, linebacker. Yeah, I'm taking, I'm taking Jehad Campbell. I didn't think he was going to get here. Love it. injury stuff, off the ball linebacker, Gihad Campbell's a win.
Starting point is 01:05:08 Absolute win. You're welcome, less need. You're welcome less. It's nice when the board's easy, you know what I mean? And we get to 90. Then we get to 90. We got our linebacker.
Starting point is 01:05:19 We need a corner, we need defensive back, offensive tackle. I'm looking at this. and there's none of the Billy Bowman safety from Oklahoma which pick is it 90
Starting point is 01:05:42 yeah yeah this is tough flooding bro this is going to be the most dead air we've ever had on a bar no no I like it people people sense it they feel the pressure yeah we got our linebacker corner safety
Starting point is 01:06:03 I'm going to go with upton upton stout No, no, no, no, no. Caleb Ransaw. Yeah. The cornerback from Tulane. Those are my two picks. Billy Bowman safety, undersized Madman from Oklahoma.
Starting point is 01:06:19 Mm-hmm. 5-9-5-1-192 ran a 4-4-2 preparation like you've never seen before. It's safety. And then with my last pick at 101, I'm taking the cornerback, Caleb Ransaw, 511 and change, 197 pounds. We're betting on the traits when we get late in the third. That's a good pick for the Rams. Ransaw with their final pick in the first two days. Here we are.
Starting point is 01:06:53 Baltimore. Gray's able, North Dakota State still on the board. Who is the best corner available? I don't think that's going to work. There is no corner available. No. Until like the third round now. Corners and tackles and wide receivers have been a pain to find.
Starting point is 01:07:13 Kenneth Grant. I mean, I think you'd rather Tyler Booker, Alabama here for what you do. But I don't hate Grays Abel here. We're going Grace Abel to Guard from North Dakota State. Yep. Good value pick, good need pick. It just makes sense.
Starting point is 01:07:27 Moving on. We got 59 overall. We are looking for a corner interior defensive alignment or safety. There's some options, an interior defensive line. Safety that Kevin Winston's already gone. I am going to go. T.J. Sanders, South Carolina, I'm higher on him than a lot of other people are.
Starting point is 01:07:53 I think that he's a good value, good pick there. Yep, I agree. I'm going to say that a lot because that's how much I like my picks. 91. Corner, safety, edge. What do we got? What do we got? Upton Stout.
Starting point is 01:08:15 Andrew McCuba. Macuba. Yes, Andrew McCuba. A little undersized, but tough. Can play over the slot. He's lean, but he got better this year. I liked his tape coming out of Texas. The Clemson Transfer. Yep.
Starting point is 01:08:30 All right. Detroit, picking 28 overall. We got three picks right down the middle here. Late in each round. Detroit is picking it at 2860. They actually don't have their original third. They have a compensatory pick at 102. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:53 So those are the three picks. Needs for Detroit. Detroit include edge, obviously, interior offensive line, interior defensive line, linebacker safety down the line, okay? This is a problem because the edge is what they really want to get. Oh, no, this isn't a problem. Oh, this is tough, though, man. What do you got?
Starting point is 01:09:20 Supremely talented player and bring in someone that doesn't match the, necessarily the makeup of this team in James Pierce or do we take the makeup without the traits? I'm going with James Pierce here. You're going to bet on all your veteran leadership there. James Pierce out of Tennessee, I think he's the second
Starting point is 01:09:38 best pure pass rusher in this class. So now we get to the second pick, 60 overall. We need an interior offensive lineman, interior defensive lineman if you're Detroit. Okay. Late in the second, I got Shamar Turner. What a win.
Starting point is 01:09:53 Love it. Love it. Great draft for Detroit, man. You get, you bolstered that defensive front after the trouble that team had when the, when depth became a problem, half the defensive side was injured. I got a three technique. I got an edge. You can rush the quarterback opposite Hutch.
Starting point is 01:10:12 Now I need a guard or a lineback or a safety or tight end. When I pick it 102, I'll get some fair value down here. Art linebacker. I'm going to go with I'm going to go with Smell Mundin linebacker out of Georgia 6-2 and change
Starting point is 01:10:45 24-458-40 guy's a player it's been nicked up his career but I like that at 102 you're basically in the fourth round at that point this is tough man Washington I mean edge would be great
Starting point is 01:11:07 I don't think there's at 29 because Pierce is off the board at this point. That would have been a great pick. I'm not seeing it. So other options were running back, corner. I think the best running backs are gone. Corners there are gone.
Starting point is 01:11:27 Who's the best player available on the board right now, McShay? Yeah, best available on the board. And we've got more guys than the first. This is probably why we're having a problem with some of these players. But Matthew Golden, wide receiver, and Memeca Buka wide receiver. I'm not even thinking about it. I'm going Matthew. Okay.
Starting point is 01:11:43 I know they got Debo. But I want to. Yeah, give me the best. Yeah, Matthew Golden and Emeka Ibuka at wide receiver. Malachi Stark, safety out of Georgia. Nick Eman Worry, safety out of South Carolina, and Edge Donovan Azaraku and tight end. I took him earlier.
Starting point is 01:12:03 As a Rock who should be off the board yet. Okay, got it. So Mason Taylor would round it out at five players there. I think the value is, golden? Yeah, I think the value is too good. You go out and get Matthew Golden. I mean, look, now you have a receiving core that is, I mean, it's ridiculous with Terry McLaren, Matthew Golden, and Debo Samuel.
Starting point is 01:12:24 Yeah. I mean, you give your young running back all those weapons. By the way, with the aging Zach Ertz, they've used a lot of draft capital on tight ends. I think even more would be in play after Jeremy Chin heading out. Yeah, he would be in play, but I'm with you there. Go ahead. I just like it too much. Oh, and Malachi Stark.
Starting point is 01:12:40 Sorry, but Starks over human war. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I'm still going Matthew Golden, best available player, and you're giving you that young, talented quarterback, another absolute weapon. So now we're going to 61. What do we got available for a edge, a running back, a corner?
Starting point is 01:13:00 Caleb Johnson. Yeah, I like that. Let's go Caleb Johnson. All right, you didn't get cut off. Washington only has two picks in the first two days. Buffalo sitting there at 30. They pick at 30. They pick at 62.
Starting point is 01:13:21 And they pick, sorry, 56 and 62. So they have two second round picks. Oh, from Minnesota, was that 56 overall pick. Okay. Buffalo's needs, cornerback is their biggest need. Like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Brandon Bean, like, I got nothing for you.
Starting point is 01:13:44 Edge, interior defensive line, running back safety. That's a line running. I'm taking Malachi Stark's. I just like it's a value pick. Right. I know this will look terrible. People are like, what, you're crazy if we post this for Buffalo. Obviously, this is the range that you would like.
Starting point is 01:14:08 None of those corners are falling anyway. So I don't know where you think you're getting your corner. Because Jaday Barron's going to be gone. Will Johnson's going to be gone. Travis Hunter's obviously gone. Maxwell Hirsten's going to be gone. You see, he's got a late invite to the combat, to the, to the ICOMBite.
Starting point is 01:14:25 Yeah. Draft. All right. So we're going safety there. Interesting. Buffalo. Not what I expected to do. Now we got cornerback still edge.
Starting point is 01:14:35 I can't get a corner until the third round. So I'm picking at 56, an early pick. Somebody's got a fall to me, right? Yep. Edge, interior, defensive line running back. You just stole the running back because now we got an issue. I'm going to take Landon Jackson. That's how I was going to have too.
Starting point is 01:14:57 It's a great pick, Arkansas. 6-6-264 runs 4-6-8. Really good, I think, off the edge, not as a five technique. He's more finesse than I expected on tape. So that's your edge. So now an interior guy or running back, a linebacker, we're picking it 62, or last of three picks. I mean, this board is ravaged.
Starting point is 01:15:32 Yeah. DJ Giddens. I like this pick. DJ Giddons. Let's go. Kansas. Before I was rudely interrupted, I was saying that's a Kansas State running back, DJ Giddens. Human glitch is what Mench calls him.
Starting point is 01:15:54 Agility, catches the ball well. Dynamic player, six foot, 2, 12, ran a 4-4-3. Great Combine workout. Just kind of matched up the explosiveness on 10. Go ahead, Munch, you are up with the 31st pick. Final two teams in this power hour. Chiefs are up with pick 31, then they pick at 63, then they pick at 66, then they pick at 95. I really thought there would be a good defensive lineman available here, and there's not.
Starting point is 01:16:24 There's just not. You know, you see some of these where Walter Nolan might be there, Kenneth Grant, in these scenarios, they're all gone. They're all off our board. I'm going Nick Eamon Worry Justin Reed left and free agency I know we don't have it down as a need but I think looking at it I think Nickyman Worry is a good value
Starting point is 01:16:43 I think they do have a need there so that's what we're going to go 31st pick Nickyman Worry he's gone as high as 18 people had him going at one point so now we go to 95 no hold on until everyone caught up with what I've been trying to tell you
Starting point is 01:16:58 for a long time but that's a conversation for another time stop it go ahead Stop it. 66. No, no, no. 63, then 66. Sorry. Yeah, I'm jumping ahead.
Starting point is 01:17:09 Thank you. 63 and then 66. Man, the defensive lineman, it's just not a good market right there. It's just. Goes to show you how these guys are valued. Tight end. 66. There's no tight end left.
Starting point is 01:17:27 No. Like literally no tight end left until we get to the fourth round. Running back? You just took Giddens. Next running back, Dylan Sampson. Too late. Too early, sorry. You can take him in 96, though.
Starting point is 01:17:43 That's what we'll take him at 95. Dylan Sampson will take it 95, so we knock that out. 95, sorry. Yeah, but at 63. Now we still got... You got two picks, two picks, right? 63 and 66. Oh, we'll go Dary and Porter.
Starting point is 01:18:07 I already took it. You did? Yep. Oh, man. I will say time that old man perfectly. This is tough. Offensive tackle, nothing really there? There's literally nothing left.
Starting point is 01:18:30 And this is kind of where the exercise gets a little screwy. Give two players in that range that you think could go there at positions that they need that have already been taken if you want. So I would say the positions you're talking about for Kansas City are interior defensive line, right? Yeah. Off at the tackle edge. tight end running back. I can see like a Darius Alexander. Yeah, Samson and the third makes a lot of sense.
Starting point is 01:18:55 But Darius Alexander, defensive tackle from Toledo would be an option with like T.J. Sanders and and Shamar Turner, like one of those guys should be available when they picked there. And then some other, and then for Kansas City, I look at it. There's not going to be a tackle. So I think like an edge or a tight end or they might take a flyer and a belt in or a Charles Grant, the third. if they're there, but again, I don't think they will be.
Starting point is 01:19:23 Yeah, at offensive tackle. All right. They're wrap it up. I don't know how receptive they're going to be to this, but this has been my favorite mock. It's funny to me. All right. I mean, this favorite pod.
Starting point is 01:19:41 So here's the deal. And it's not going to happen where Emeka, Buka, and Mason Taylor are still on the board. And then when you get to pick the second pick for the Philadelphia Eagles at 64, that one of them still on the board. So I'm going to tell you right now, Mason Taylor, with Dallas Goddard, and I've been saying this for over a week now. Dallas Goddard, in the situation there, I think Mason Taylor,
Starting point is 01:20:03 I could see Howie Roseman having his eyes set on Taylor, who's very likely to be there at 32, not guaranteed, but I think Mason Taylor makes a lot of sense for the Eagles at 32. Then you get back to the second round, the last pick in the second round, pick 64 overall. Excuse me. The Eagles have addressed that need. I mean, they still have safety, interior defensive line.
Starting point is 01:20:29 I think this would be a great spot for Xavier Watts. Yeah, there you go. Awesome spot for Xavier Watts. That's a legitimate, like, legitimate possibility. And if Howie comes out, first of all, I love you, Howie. There's no chance he's sticking and picking at 32 and 64. He's like ants in the pants. So he's going to be moving around.
Starting point is 01:20:53 But those would be two great value. good fits like everything that they want right and then the final pick 96 okay the original third round pick 96 they're in philadelphia at that point like again super bowl champions they don't they're not desperate for anything but safe we got a safety we got the tight end i think defensive line continue to bolster that group anywhere on the defense corner linebacker but i think defensive line how about the georgia kid the georgia kid and that's my god and And of course, Georgia. The Florida GM goes back to the Georgia well with a late riser I've been screaming at.
Starting point is 01:21:32 You've been bitching about, but now I think. Perfect way to end this. Tyrion Ingram Dawkins. How about that for a power hour? I do want to finish with this. I recognize a mecca, Abuka didn't get picked. It was just part of the exercise. I think we did an awesome job, if I'm going to be honest.
Starting point is 01:21:56 If you're watching on video You got to see the top of my head And the top of Munch's hat And like, yeah, it might not have been the best TV But we're not on TV anymore, Munch I'll say this When you go back And I don't think anyone's crazy enough to go and study
Starting point is 01:22:12 Well, they didn't pick But Jalen Milrow did not get picked That's going to be a tough one to figure out where he goes It's going to be a wild. I said it back in October. He's the wild card of the draft And he's going to be the one And of course he's accepted the invitation.
Starting point is 01:22:25 He's going to be a. the draft, those guys always go in the first, right? We're making sure we don't have another Will Levis on our hands. Well, we're going to see how that plays out. But Milro didn't go. A Mecca, Abuka didn't go. I think Milro, there's a handful of spots. We talked about Pittsburgh, the Giants, Cleveland with Tommy Reese connection, the Rams, but I don't know at 26. There's a lot of possibilities for Milro and his development. And a mecca Abuka could go. And like, honestly, starting with maybe Denver at 20. Truly.
Starting point is 01:22:59 Like, I know he doesn't have the flashy, sexy trait, but the guy is reliable. You know what you're getting. You're getting a 70, 80 catch per year slot receiver. Who's going to bring, like, what is a force multiplier? He is going to be the rare, like, absolute leader, leader on offense at the wide receiver position. So those two guys didn't hear their name called that will not be the case in the first night
Starting point is 01:23:24 or the first 40, 50 picks of the draft. And a mechobuca, as I promised you, Mitch will be a first round pick. If not, I owe you a dinner out in L. Yeah, we just, you don't put them in mocks anymore. That's fine. It's fun. I'm just teasing you. I know what's coming. I know that last box. This was fun. I'm not going to give you schedule stuff. I'm not going to thank you because if people are getting pissed off and spending too much time thanking them and telling them up what's up next. You guys will figure it out then. You're on your own. We appreciate it. Hopefully you enjoyed this
Starting point is 01:23:56 drill, little scrambled, but it was a lot of fun. Love you, Mench. Go get your stuff done. Love you too, man. Don't come in a better mood. Don't come in a better mood.
