Sam Levitt improved his drafts.
stock even though LSU lost.
Yes.
Lane Kiffin lost more than one football game in Oxford tonight.
Oh.
No.
The greener pasture came back to Oxford.
Ole Miss shut the gate.
221 days until the NFL draft.

It's a jam-packed show tonight.
I mean, there's a lot else that went on today.
We had NFL draft prospects rising and falling.
We had Kentucky pulling off the upset against A&M.
Louisville upsetting number 16 SMU.
Clemson.
Are they back?
No.
Belichick goes down.
Bama.
No. Stems off Florida State.
Mississippi State.
Do they have a future QB1?
USC, what's going on?
They look great.
They look horrible.
I don't know.
Utah, do we under it?
We've got so much to get to here.
There's a lot going on.
But what just happened in Oxford is historic.
Okay.
The final.
is the final, it's 32 Ole Miss, 24 LSU.
It came down to the final drive.
It didn't look like it was going to for a while, right?
It looked like it could go, like,
it looked like they were going to run away from it.
And there's so, like I said,
a lot of different angles I want to take.
But let's start with this.
I'm going to throw this question at you.
And really, like, the story isn't the 3224.
The story is who Ole Miss became and has become
and what we saw tonight without Lane.
Yeah.
That was the story to me.
Because it was watching two young men specifically in Trinidad Chambliss and Kiwan Lacey.
And every time they would do something, they'd pan over to Lane.
And then they'd come back to these two possessed young men, right?
I'm going to start with this question.
Did Lane Kiffin underestimate what he left?
behind.
Ooh.
No.
Here's what I'm to say.
That's a much larger big picture question.
And I think if you're looking big picture,
LSU is built to win in the long term.
I think that.
And I also do think that for all of his flaws,
I do think that Lane has a ton of respect for a Trinidad Chamble.
I mean,
did you see when, like, I think it was towards the end of the first half
where the clock was running down down,
And they were like call a timeout.
And all of a sudden, Lane comes down and calls timeout.
And he looks over Trinidad Chambliss, or at least I think he is and gave the thumbs up.
And kind of was like, yeah, kid, I saw the same thing that you did.
And that's why I call the time out because I know he was about to torch me.
And then he torched him anyways, by the way.
So I don't know if he really underestimated.
I knew that I think he thought he had talent at Ole Miss.
But we all, you know, I stand by what I said then.
I feel the same way now.
Ole Miss is built.
I mean, LSU is different than Ole Miss.
It's built to win championships in a different kind of way.
When this is, I will, I kind of want to answer your question with a question.
Do you think when Trinidad Chambliss leaves Ole Miss that they'll still be competing with the LSUs
and still be competing at this level in the SEC?
No.
No.
I'm not saying that they won't, like, it won't look like tonight consistently.
No.
I don't believe that.
But.
You've got some tough questions, man.
Good.
I want to go back to 429 in the first quarter.
I just went right before we came on air.
And I texted Dan to make sure I put it as part of what I'm writing up for the newsletter.
And check it out the McShay report.
It's out overnight, Saturday night, first thing Sunday morning, basically it'll be in your inbox.
Dan will work on it all night long and he can't wait.
He's thrilled about it.
making sure he edits all my all actually i've been writing a lot recently i've gotten the writing
bug back um but he he does a lot of the editing and make sure that i'm not you know god knows
what i say sometimes um and but i went back 429 first quarter if you have a chance and you're
you're watching this on spotify netflix um listening on on apple or anywhere else you get your
podcast we appreciate you doing so that throw
anyone who's played the quarterback position,
I have never played it in anywhere,
like within like 30 million miles
of what Trinidad was like the position he played tonight, okay?
But anyone who's played quarterback in any big game,
there's something that goes on in your body
you don't know that's going on.
And so it could be the first throw of the game
or it could be a first, like,
but then where you overshoot or you're not quite as pinpoint
And then you kind of settle into a rhythm and everything feels like, yeah, I'm where I need to be, right?
For Trinidad Chamblis to come out and to play as efficient.
And I know they had the first drive.
And then LSU had a first drive and they kind of got going.
But to even have the onions to make a throw like he did at 429 first quarter when he rolls out to his right and his receiver is double covered by LSU defensive backs who are not, it's not the competition he was facing at Ferris State.
It's not the competition.
These are big-time SEC cornerbacks going up and doing their job.
They're getting paid for now.
And he's got a receiver kind of behind a side beside these two GBs.
And to even make that throw is like certifiable.
And to put it in the place.
It was like if you ever go back and watch Dan Marino clips and it's like, why was
Marino so good?
He never won a Super Bowl.
Why is he like considered the best of all time?
And you go back and you watch like the first two minutes of his highlight reel
and you still have like 40 hours left to go.
And you see some of the throws he was making to doper and Clayton.
But like it was one of those.
And he's rolling out to his right.
And like, I don't know.
It was one of the most spectacular throws.
And then you throw the moment in and the backstory and the fairest state.
And I was recruited by Lane.
And Lane's the guy who.
gave me this shot and brought me in.
And I wasn't supposed to start, and then I get Austin Simmons, who's now at Missouri,
who's, by the way, lighting things up there because he's super talented.
Looks pretty good.
Yeah, but I come in and I start showing things, and it's exactly what Lane and the staff
thought that I could be.
And they developed me, and they turned me into a division two and to this project.
He's going to be a really good backup here, and who knows, maybe you can win us a game
or two if something happens to, like, the guy.
and I get better and better as the season progresses.
And then Lane leaves and all the nonsense.
And I got to go to court.
I got to get a local judge to fight to basically make a ruling against the NCAA
and fight the NCAA and all the other powers to even allow me to come back to this place
without the guy who believed in me as the 240th QB ranked transfer portal.
The portal, yeah.
at QB.
I know I've told the story 20 times.
I'll tell it 200 more.
I texted Bill Simmons two weeks ago,
and I was like, honestly,
I don't know why we're not all working on a documentary on this young man.
It is one of the greatest stories in the history of sports.
Yep.
And it's because there's so many layers to this.
And now you've got this layer
of what's become the most intriguing
because it's the most recent,
but it's also the most intriguing layer,
of Lane Kiffin's bringing
the greener pasture program back here to lowly Ole Miss.
And we got the grove and it's cute and we get beautiful girls.
And we got boys who've got their hats on and the things are on their glasses
and they've been dressing like this for 40 straight years.
I'm just telling you.
It's like this simple life that's always been and people don't want it to change
because it's perfect.
It's perfect.
And we get the best tailgates and we get shandle, not shan,
We got,
um,
yeah,
chandeliers,
right?
Whatever.
My point is,
but we're just this cute program
and we always win
six to eight games and like,
yeah,
we had a manning come through and that was fun
after the,
the original Archie Manning was here.
But we're just,
we're always known for having the best food
and the best traditions and the best,
you know,
whiskey and all that stuff.
But we're not,
we don't show up in these moments and we don't deliver blows
to,
to that freight train coming through
with Lane, the lane train coming.
These are the moments we don't step up to.
By the way, I might deliver what?
I might be a Skycast guy now.
I don't know if you watch this at all.
I'm not.
That throw, when you're watching it from the Skycast
and you see it, you're actually the cameras behind him
as he's rolling out and it's following him.
Oh, I love Skycast.
I just can't do the whole broadcast.
You can't do it?
It was the first day I did it
I was kind of into it.
I kind of liked it, man.
But you don't have the audio with it.
No, they did.
They did.
I don't know if they had, yep, they did.
You had Herbie and Valor the whole time.
Okay, then I could live with that.
Skycast is the best view.
Yes.
By the way, the people who do that,
when I was on a production group for,
for 10 years or whatever it was
with Greasy and McDonough and
Greasy and Levy.
and there was McDonough and Spilman first,
and then McDonough and Blackledge.
And so, like, you get to know all the folks that do it.
And, like, we would do our best to make sure we, like,
brought everyone by name.
Like, there were dudes going up, like, 40, 50 mile an hour winds,
like climbing towers to put those things up into.
Yeah, exactly, no.
But anyway, to make, to make all the plays that he did
in the first quarter especially,
with all of the, like, the world,
the college football world conversion.
John. And that dude doesn't look phased.
No.
There's nothing like he's unlike.
And so,
and it brings me to the next question.
Is Trinidad Chambliss at least QB3?
And I mentioned that off the top.
And I know that's not the discussion of tonight.
I guess the better question, honest to God, is,
are we going to be stupid enough to allow, to allow what?
height. We're literally watching. We are watching
brilliance. We are watching
Steph Curry. We're watching
we're watching Russ.
I hear you. Watching the guy before
before we're like it. So why do we always make this mistake?
Is the question I'm asking myself? Because
what is it about him that's different from
Dante? Like Dante has
He hasn't done any of this shit, man.
Dante has not done any of this.
Dante is brilliant as a passer.
Dante Moore.
He's brilliant as a passer.
Best in the country.
Arch is bigger.
Arches just did some of this.
But Arch is 65-2-30.
He's a manning.
Right.
Whether that factors in for you or not.
But does he have a bigger arm?
and I don't care.
Has he shown up no quote.
I'm just like, I'm trying to watch with people.
Yeah, let me,
let me throw some stuff at you.
You asked me,
is he definitely a top three guy?
And I said no,
because I don't know if he's definitely,
I will say this,
if this makes people feel better
because I know there's so much love
for Chambliss right now,
and I get it,
and I have that, man,
I love this player too,
and I see it.
So I will say that.
I don't know if he's definitely
a top three guy,
but I do know that he's,
now in the mix to be the top guy.
And that can, I think both
of those things can be true.
I think that you can look at him and say
this is unbelievable and his
stock is rising and it's rising to the
point where you now have to really consider him
despite the fact that he is going to be
an outlier. He's not going to be
six feet tall. But our understanding
is not going to be six feet tall. Why do we care?
Lamar couldn't throw well enough. Because no one, not
a lot of guys do it. Josh Allen couldn't hit the side
of a barn. Russell Wilson was
five, ten and three quarters.
Yep.
Steph Curry was wasn't this high recruit went to Davidson.
Totally understand.
And was undersized.
Yep.
Like at what point do we have to wake up and say, you know what?
He's just the best.
When the lights are the brightest, when the moment's the biggest,
doesn't matter who he's going up again.
Because we just let one of the richest programs roster-wise,
money spent, walk into their place, got to handpick Levitt,
he's got all he's got everything he needs he chose ls you and it wasn't like yeah well he needs
three years to rebuild this is this is 2026 baby here's the money go buy them so there
i don't know and we saw it against louisville we saw it against georgia he was the best against
that miami defense except mendoza and mcgosa was the number one overall pick right right
So at what point are we going to wake up?
I'm awake.
You're talking about who's the best quarterback in college football right now.
And it's Trinidad Chambers.
That's a runaway.
But I'm sure I both know.
And I'm yelling at myself as much as I'm yelling at you and yelling at it.
No, I know.
And it's fine.
And I get it.
And I get everyone's love for him.
You have always told me it's a height weight speed league, right?
There's always, and we've talked about this so much over the course I feel of the last
years.
And it's been an arm length thing primarily, right?
We talked about Will Campbell's arm length, the offensive tackle out of LSU,
that New England drafted early.
We talked about Ruben, Rubin Bain's not Robin,
Ruben Bain's arm length, the defensive end that was drafted out of Miami by Tampa Bay.
And we just sat here the other day and talked about, wow,
Ruben Bain, who looked unbelievable at the college level,
did not have the best start.
Now, we'll see how it goes from here.
But this is a, it is a different thing.
It's a different thing to do it, and it's still at a high level.
Don't get me wrong.
It's a different thing to do it for Ole Miss,
against LSU than it is playing for the Colts against that Houston defense.
It is a different thing.
There have been great college quarterbacks who have not been able to make the jump.
And we haven't seen a lot of guys do it under six feet.
Now, if you're asking me, if you were going to bet on someone to do it to have like that
skill set, the mentality, all of the things that maybe overcome this, Trinidad Chambleau checks all
the boxes for me.
I get it.
but to put him ahead of a guy like Arch Manning who just beat Ohio State is bigger, faster, stronger, fits the mold, fits the mold of what you're looking.
And some of these other guys, too, like, we don't know how the rest of the season's going to play out.
I think, again, Chamble's in the mix now to be the first quarterback off the board, the first player off the board.
I think that. I really do.
At that size, that's incredible.
Incredible. Is it definite? No.
And as we get into February and we start thinking about what's going to happen at the
combine and not how we think, but how GMs are going to think.
It's going to be interesting.
It's going to be interesting to see what GMs think of this player,
because you can love all the other stuff, but it's hard to go to him and say,
well, give me example, give me the comp for this guy.
It's Russell Wilson.
Okay, Russell Wilson had the greatest, one of the greatest defenses of all time,
playing with him.
Are we going to need to do that too?
And that's not a knock on Russell Wilson.
I get it, but I don't know if people look back.
Russell Wilson was a steal because I think he went in the third round,
maybe the fourth round.
He's an absolute steal at that range.
But I also don't know if he would go back and be like,
he's like a clear first overall pick guy.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Yeah, I just feel like we start.
I don't know.
I'm, I'm trying to crack the facade of what we all get stuck in and stuck on.
I'm trying to break down that wall.
And I'm not saying that come April,
to say Chambliss is QB1 or QB2.
But if he's past QB3, I'm worried that maybe I've done it again.
Really?
Yeah, I am.
So if Dante Moore, I mean, some of these guys are not playing well, we can get into
some of this stuff later on.
But if Dante Moore, Archmanning, Darien Mentsa, Lenora Sellers.
But why am I taking Dante Moore?
I'm just asking.
Why am I taking Dante Moore?
He's two and a half inches taller?
Right now?
right now.
Well, first of all, you're taking Dante Moore
for all the reason that you loved him coming into the season.
Like, I get the things have not gone well,
but I think that if you look at, listen,
I didn't go that badly.
I broke down every single play of his tape the other day,
and I sent a bunch of notes to Dan,
and we're going to do it,
we're going to do a cumulative thing with the D'Ommas.
He wasn't.
He had one bad throw in that game.
But there's no moment where Dante Moore's,
I mean, there's a couple moments when he...
I thought he played well to Penn State.
Yes.
Yeah.
And people like dismiss that game because the wheels came off for Penn State.
Yeah.
But it just feels different with this cat.
And sometimes I think we fight against different.
And when it looks a little different or it doesn't fit our mold.
But like, Drew Brees didn't fit a mold.
Lamar didn't fit a mold
Michael Vic didn't fit a mold
oh come on though
come on dude
no but they're all different
at the time it was like
it breezes too small
yeah
Vic's too fast
can't run
I mean can't throw
can't throw like consistently
doesn't know how to read progressions all that stuff
Lamar was like the new age version
he just like wasn't as good a pass or is Vic
at the time.
But it was more acceptable to be that modern day.
I'm just saying like Russell Wilson was too short.
I don't know.
I feel like I and it's overreaction Saturday night into Sunday morning.
I get it.
But I've been kind of going down this road for a little while.
My counterpoint would be.
How many times do I have to see him do this kind of stuff before I'm like, I don't, I don't care.
I don't care.
I don't care what a side is.
He's just, he's one of those.
He's one of them.
He's one of like the handful, like the tiny,
he's the outlier that I'm ready to ride with.
I'd be willing to bet on him.
Yeah, I'd be willing to bet on him.
I just also think this is an outstanding quarterback class.
So, and he's an outlier.
It's going to be interesting to see.
I mean, if you were asked me,
if I wish the question would have been a little bit different,
do you think he's a top five pick?
Yeah.
Do you think he could be the first quarterback off the board?
Yes.
Is he definitely a top three guy?
That sounds like a...
I put him in three in the mock draft last week before this game.
You did.
You did?
And I still felt like people were kind of like, you know?
Yep.
I'd be curious to see if that came out this week, if anyone would bat an eye.
Skobbags.
Sam Levitt.
What did he show?
Let's be honest.
I think he showed exactly.
who Sam Levitt is. I think he showed that he belongs
in the 2028 draft, and I
think Sam Levitt has got a chance to be awesome.
I don't think Sam Levitt's
We saw flashes of it, right?
Yeah, I don't think Sam Levitt's anywhere close
to being ready to play in the NFL tomorrow.
But my gosh, you give him
the rest of this season, an
off season, rinse-refine, repeat
like Jackson Dart had from his
junior to senior year with Lane.
And I'm here for that, man.
You know, it's interesting.
There's a lot of talk before this game about who had the most pressure on them.
Was it Lane?
Was it Golding?
Was it Trinidad?
You know, after the game, just thinking about it, to me, it was Levitt.
I mean, this is the guy, like, what's different about our team?
Like, they have Trinidad, and we have Levitt.
And we have this really expensive roster, and we have Lane now,
but we're still trying to figure out our quarterback.
And when you fall behind and you're on the road,
like that and it's loud and all of these things.
I mean, he missed a lot of throws tonight.
Like he did. That's what that's, that's his, his issue.
He's got to clean up the footwork. He's got to be more consistent.
You know, he's, he is an inconsistent passer.
But that touchdown that he threw late, I think to tie the game, the touchdown he
threw down the right sideline.
Yeah, to the right side line. Yeah, it was brilliant.
Winnie Watkins. Yeah.
Unbelievable.
Brilliant.
Yeah.
And the balls that he has as a runner and the toughness that he should.
showed, and we kind of already knew that about him, but it just reinforces it again.
Like, I'm not going to, now that I'm at LSU, I'm not going to wilt here either.
He's a tough competitive kid, man.
17-0-0. I circled this down.
You want a scouting moment.
17-0.
You came in here.
Your defense is better than their defense.
Your program is bigger and better.
It's why Lane chose you guys.
You guys are favored on the road in this Hornet's Nest.
And there are two people that really stood out.
to me in that moment.
Seb down 17-0.
Trinidad's just dealing.
It was Lane and Leavitt.
And a third, in a third, quite frankly, was Trades Green.
Trey-Daz Green is one of the 15 best players in this draft class.
He gets injured late and then, oh, he is.
Okay.
He's a borderline unicorn, dude.
You don't think an offensive tackles in your, like you have one offensive tackle on your top 15?
Yeah, your boy, Seton.
Good news, it was Eccles.
Bad news, Seton who you were bitching about being too low or whatever, got beat one-on-one for a sack.
It was good.
Yeah, I did say Seton, too.
He's not going to get to 24.
He did.
He's still not.
I'm just saying that trade has green.
And yes, we could have a handful of quarterbacks and we got a bunch of wide receivers.
And we can get to all that stuff tonight and beyond.
I remember a unicorn tied in.
They got drafted by Atlanta a little while ago.
Was it was a sure,
surefire thing.
Pitts?
Hell, Pitts.
Yeah.
Oh, he had a hell of a year in 2025.
Contract year, baby.
He had a hell of a year last year.
Don't you deny that.
Yeah, I mean, I thought Kiwan Lacey before he got,
before he got nicked up was running like a madman,
like an absolute, like a man possessed.
And it was awesome to watch.
I thought Will Eccles did some good things.
I've got to go back and watch the tape.
I thought Sun Toreen Perkins had a really good game.
He had a couple of three tackles, past breakup.
I just felt like he was around the ball.
I thought there were a bunch of guys that stepped up in flashes.
There were so much talent on this field tonight.
You know, the interesting part is if you go back at the...
Dude, the Luke Forelli kid, the linebacker.
Yes.
I mean, out of his, just out of his skull playing tonight.
I mean, he was unbelievable.
Yeah.
I mean, there was, there was talent everywhere.
It was an awesome game.
It was awesome to see Trinidad actually live out that dream of I chose the right, I made the right decision.
I chose the place, not the person.
This place welcomed me in like its son.
This place believed in me.
And I appreciate what that man did.
But if that man wants to leave what we're building here, I don't stand for that.
He can go.
I'm going to stay.
Pete's my guy.
And how about Pete?
And we're going to talk all this Lane stuff in Trinidad and Leavitt and all.
How about Pete Golding?
I've sat in meetings with Pete.
And my gosh, he is just, he's football.
He's two things besides all the things that he is in this world that aren't,
aren't about this, which is father, husband, son, like family.
but like he is football and he is SEC.
You know what I mean?
He just is.
She's killing me though.
I got to be honest with you.
Like he's doing a great job as a head coach,
like managing all this stuff.
But man,
some of those soft coverages that he's running on third down,
I'm like, come on, dude.
Like we, you got to get them off the field.
There was a couple calls and I thought we're a little bit questionable.
on his end tonight.
And I thought there were a couple calls
that were a little bit questionable against Louisville.
But like, again, as a,
for a guy that's walking into this situation.
No, no, no, no.
In the opener.
Oh, oh, sorry.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So both games.
So I thought there's questionable calls
of both games defensively.
But it's unbelievable.
It's an unbelievable story.
The human element of it all is just incredible.
And he comes across and I think people could see him as like this,
oh, shucks kind of guy.
And I'm just happy a year.
No.
No. Not the case, man.
No.
And he went through some rough times, too.
Like, he was swimming in it at Alabama under Nick.
Like, I can remember sitting in those meetings and it looked like,
and I hadn't been there three weeks earlier,
and it looked like he aged four years and three.
You know what I mean?
Like, this was not some like easy roses and crudicles, you know, type of deal.
I mean, he's talked about that.
He never thought he was going to be head coach.
honestly, I wasn't sure if he was going to be either, if I'm being honest.
Look at him now.
And I love that.
I love that because you sit in some meetings and you're like, that guy's definitely going to be.
And then you find out sometimes those guys who are like, yeah, he's going to be,
are just used car salesmen and they're just really good at winning a room.
This guy grinded it out the right way.
Quick question.
Should Ole Miss be number two in the rankings?
Who's one?
Who's once, Texas?
Who would be the argument at three?
Ohio State.
I think Ohio State should be three.
All these other Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami, I really like them.
I just don't know.
I don't know them well enough.
Ohio State lost.
Two taxes to the number one team in the country.
Well, get this.
I promise my mom.
Really?
I promise my mom.
Oh, my God.
I would do my best not to swear.
She's in Bible study and people are embarrassing her
because her son has a month of a sale.
So I, I just, that's my goal to get you swear.
Hey, Mom, I just caught myself.
Because much eggs me on.
Yeah, why, I don't, I don't, because George has been playing the murderous row of teams so far.
Like, there are some other teams that I could sit here and make an argument, like they're more talented.
They could be the, but like right now, it'd be, hey, hey, bud, Louisville just beat SMU and we'll get to that in a minute.
Yeah, my team.
SMU is 16.
Louisville?
Yeah.
Okay.
I told you something
undefeated after the Ole Miss game.
This episode is brought to you by American Home Shield.
The one thing I've learned evaluating football players every week,
you can't predict everything.
And as homeowners know,
the same goes for home systems and appliance breakdowns.
It's hard to predict when a broken AC,
water heater, or dishwasher might sneak up on you
with a repair that could cost thousands.
But here's the good news. Home warranties from American Home Shield start at just $29.99 a month.
AHS can help fix appliances and home systems so you're not blindsided by pricey repairs.
And if they can't repair the covered part, they'll replace it no matter how old.

When WestJet first took flight in 1996,
the vibes were a bit different.
People thought denim on denim was peak fashion,
inline skates were everywhere,
and two out of three women rocked, the Rachel.
While those things stayed in the 90s,
one thing that hasn't is that fuzzy feeling you get
when WestJet welcomes you on board.
Here's to WestJetting since 96.
Travel back in time with us
and actually travel with us at westjet.com slash 30 years.
All right, the Saturday,
I want to get to this.
It's a new staple here.
The Saturday exchange,
Mensch makes a declaration.
I get to buy or sell.
Some weeks will have hold,
depending on the topics.
This week, it's just buy yourself.
It's too early in the morning for us to be doing holds.
Old.
So go ahead.
You start, and then we'll flip the script.
Outside of LSU Ole Miss,
Kentucky had the most important.
Orton win of the day today.
Sell.
Okay.
Give me who, then who did.
Clemson.
Now, listen,
you just brought up your mother,
who's,
just,
you're really,
like,
this is just,
she just battles with some heart problems.
Watch yourself, Mench.
You're being careful.
I'll mute the mic for a second.
If you're on Netflix,
you could see what I said.
Hopefully the,
the reverend,
doesn't,
with a Reverend doesn't,
he's on Apple.
This is madness.
Go ahead.
I can't wait to hear this twisted logic.
By the way,
you just mentioned Louisville beating SMU,
SMU.
You got Kentucky beating Texas A&M,
at Texas A&M.
Because of Clems and beating North Carolina.
Can I speak?
Because in the last decade,
because in the last decade
plus,
It's Ohio State.
It's Georgia.
It's Alabama.
It's LSU.
And it's Clemson.
And Clemson is bottomed out without bottoming out.
And I'm not saying that this is going to lead to anything,
but my gosh, had they lost the game the way that they had
and to have come back against Bill Belichick,
it breathes a little bit of life with a true freshman.
I'm not saying it's going to parlay into anything.
but I'm also not counting dabbo out from turning this team into one of those sneak around the chicken coop
and right there in Miami with two injuries in the secondary injury Malachi Tony's only playing third downs.
Mark Fletcher's in the tent like injuries happen.
So they lose that game to Bill Belichick.
I don't know.
It felt important.
but I also feel like we're going to cover Kentucky
in a couple other ways later in the show,
so we'll get back to that.
I feel like if his buyout wasn't $57 million,
he might not be the coach there anymore.
Like, I feel like,
I'm just telling you, in the ACC,
tell me who if you think
when I'm going to get to where Clemson would be ranked in the ACC.
Oh, I'm not saying.
You go ahead.
Miami, Pittsburgh, Louisville,
SMU.
Pittsburgh, I'm not convinced yet.
Okay.
I mean, at best, they're probably fourth or fifth
in the ACC. And I was a Pittsburgh
guy coming in. Yeah. And it like
it took like they had to score 13
unanswered points after weather.
But you and I both know.
You and I both know.
They lose today
to a Carolina program
with Belichick and his
morals and
all of that. I'm telling
telling you, I promise you, I know the South better than you.
I know the South better than you.
I'm telling you, I know what I know.
Declare something, will you?
Lenora Sellers should return in 2027, but not to South Carolina.
Kind of just a prick tonight.
Like that's just kind of like you, that's just your thing now, I think, is just to be a
prick.
You start writing this show, you can be a prick back.
Maybe I'm egging you on to write some segments.
That's fair.
It's fair.
I am not.
I know people might be confused here.
I'm actually not Lenora Sellers agent.
I do play him on TV.
I do act like it every once in a while.
I'm not actually his agent.
And I do get what people are seeing with some of the stuff.
And I'm concerned that he's regressing.
I am.
There was enough stuff on the Tauson tape for me to be alarmed.
I did not watch the entire.
I was unable to watch.
the entire game today.
I thought he made some nice throws.
I did see the pick that he threw when it was a 31, 23 game,
and it was just an awful decision and an awful throw.
And kind of what I was talking about with the Taus and tape,
where he doesn't look like he's throwing with conviction.
I do think that I don't know whether it's the new offense.
I don't know whether he's not playing with confidence right now.
I don't know what it is,
but it needs to get fixed in a hurry for him to be considered
one of the top quarterback prospects in this class
because there's a talented as he is,
those kind of things are alarming.
Again, want to take into the tape.
I do feel like right now,
my gut tells me that he does need to go back to school
for another year.
I think he would benefit from that,
but I'm not sure he would benefit
from going back to South Carolina.
And I revert back to our conversation
with Stanford General Manager, Andrew Luck,
where he talks about not all experience being good experience.
And I think the experience in South Carolina
over the last two years has not been great experience.
Now, maybe that turns around now,
and I like Shane Beamer,
I think he's a good coach.
That's a good school.
I've got nothing against it.
I do know that Sellers is from that area.
Maybe he needs to get out of the area.
Maybe he needs to go somewhere else
and really just be somewhere
he can immerse himself totally in football.
I don't know exactly what it is,
but my gut does tell me that he might be going back to school
for another year and that South Carolina
might not be the place that he should be going to.
At this moment, I completely agree.
It doesn't mean.
I reserve the right for that.
change at this moment.
Yeah.
Go ahead.
Last one.
What do you got?
This one.
Jane Ball is RB1
and a top 20 player.
The running back from Florida, by the way.
Yeah, I know who the run.
I know you know.
I didn't.
Oh, but you're supposed to do that.
You're getting better.
That's you improving.
That's you improving.
I like that.
I'm selling.
He's RB1.
I don't know in this.
class he's a top 20 player because I don't know what he can do catching the ball.
I don't, I'm not, I'm not sold yet.
Because you haven't seen him do it this year?
I'm not sold yet in the passing game, what he can totally be as a top 20, but he's
absolutely RB1.
He's absolutely fantastic.
He had 26 carries for 162 and three touchdowns tonight.
And he carries that Florida team.
And I actually like Alex Golish a lot.
And I actually finally think they got, they got.
at Auburn.
And it was cool to see them even fight back
and to make that 44, 39 at the end.
That's going to be a program that fights
and they're going to keep getting better.
And it's cool to see John Sumerall,
like breathing life into Florida.
You know, college football is better when Florida's,
when Florida is in the mix.
We know that.
Jaden Baugh is an absolute star.
I love him.
And I love Kiwan Lacey, but Baugh's better.
period. You and I've been saying this for two years. We're on the ball train.
But right now, am I convinced he's a top 20 player? No.
Now, oh, you know it's early in the morning.
It's not even late at night. It's early in the morning.
I gave him an outs. I gave Bo Jackson.
No, Ohio State, Dallas Cowboys.
It's the best of the deal.
I love it. Zeeke Elliott, yeah.
Yeah.
Zeke Elliott, I remember, didn't have a lot of catches, didn't have a big catalog.
Talk to people at Ohio.
Ohio State, then you get to watch some practice date, but Ohio State of him catches some of the
catching that he did. See him at the pro day. See him at the combine. And you're like, oh, yeah,
no problem. So, like, let's see. Let's see how that all works out, you know?
I gave him an outstanding grade for his ability on third down. I think he is an outstanding
receiver, and I think he is a above average to excellent pass blocker. I just don't think he's
been used a lot. 33 catches last year, though. You had 33 catches last year. I've seen enough to know
that he's pretty damn good. Kentucky.
has five more ranked opponents.
This is the last one.
Kentucky has five more ranked opponents.
They'll win at least two.
Bye.
Me too.
And I don't know whether, I don't know.
I'm a Stein guy, man.
Yeah.
I've been.
Yeah.
And it was,
it was cool to watch today.
And it was cool to watch this post game interview and how excited he is.
Like, he's a Kentucky guy.
Like he, like, he, he is really a Kentucky guy.
Yes.
Root.
Like, I was like, sometimes they're like, yeah, I know, I want to
there. It's like, do you really want to be there or do you just want to be a head coach in the
SEC? You get the feeling that he really wanted to coach this team. Like he wanted to coach Kentucky.
His dad, his dad played there, I think. It's ties. It's interesting. So they've got, I wrote it down,
they've got LSU at Oklahoma. We'll see if Oklahoma's ranked at that point. Tough, tough night
tonight. I mean, they beat New Mexico by seven at Tennessee, at Missouri and Louisville. I don't see
than beating LSU.
But of those next four,
I think they have a shot in all of them.
I believe that.
I'm a Kenny Minchinie guy, too, by the way.
I think he's over...
13 for 18 tonight.
14 for 18 tonight.
They had 408 yards,
zero turnovers against A&M.
That's not easy to do.
I'm going to throw something at you right now.
CJ Baxter, by the way.
Remember C.J. Baxter? Texas C.J. Baxter.
Yeah.
87 on 19 carries, two touchdowns.
Scouts view him a lot higher than people in the national media are talking about.
And I tried to warn people of that in the preseason.
I think that Kenny Menchie has the chance to be this year's Trinidad Chambliss.
The transfer kid who comes in, the people don't realize how good he was.
Dude, he was a dude at Notre Dame.
I mean, he was battling C.J. Carr for that job.
It seemed like it was a legitimate battle until Carr won it late for Notre Dame.
He's going to be a guy that I think could come in and early on.
is going to be take care of the football, make plays for them,
and they could really take off once he starts hitting all cylinders in Stein's offense.
To your point, I knew I had this note.
I just pulled it up.
I've got so many notes here.
He's from Louisville, Stein is.
He played at Trinity.
You're going to ignore the Trinidad Chambles comp?
Yeah, I'm going to get back to his father.
Matt played defensive end in Kentucky.
He understands the state, right?
Give me time.
I'm not there.
I'm not there yet.
That's a hold.
That's a hold.
I'm not selling that.
That's a hold.
It's an aggressive.
But it's a hold.
I think on scale, on scale, I'll hold.
Yes.
I do want to say this.
Kentucky might have the best down three defensive linemen in the country.
Yeah.
The depth drop off after that.
But I want to remind people,
they were stunning that the heck out of Alabama last week.
That front three is not a joke.
It's at the Tavion Gadsden.
Yeah.
Mikekees Humphrey Grace.
And there's one other.
There's three of them, though.
All draft prospects.
Shabarian Harkos.
Yes.
So, I mean, they'll play a fix six last week.
Yeah.
So that front three is no joke.
But they'll wear down over time.
But I give them a lot of credit, man.
They're a fun team to watch.
So, so yeah.
I agree.
I'm going to agree with your,
I'm going to agree with your buy on that.
All right.
Last segment.
This is where we get a little loose.
It's fitting for tonight because there's a long day for a lot of reason.
Personal level, happy birthday, Tate, 12 years old.
A layer of a goal and assist today in an hour and a half away, Westport.
If you can tell, you can tell them scattered tonight, but I'm having a blast.
Does she have a Selly, by the way, or does she just, like, run to her teammates?
No.
No, she doesn't go to the, like, go to the flag in the corner.
She better not have a Selly in the 10 and under league.
is if my daughter has a Selly and tenant under soccer,
she's not having a dinny.
I'm for it, man.
She should be able to celebrate.
Yeah, like, you know,
yeah, let's go.
I'll tell you one thing in soccer, though.
They don't mess around,
at least in, like, youth soccer.
You have, you try to pop a sally?
They're like, the red card coming out?
No, they're kicking, like,
they line up for, like, it's like it didn't happen.
Like, all right, next up.
There's, like, signs and stuff.
Apparently there's some, and Mercer tells me down in the south,
you weren't allowed to cheer for your own kids in soccer.
Because there were some, like, serious stuff going on.
And so now they all walk out and the referees have,
or someone has to announce, like the rules of being a parent.
It's intense.
No, like, like hockey dad stuff.
It was always the hockey dads that were the hottest.
Yeah, I guess the soccer, soccer moms and dads got a little loose for a little while.
We had to clean things up.
I didn't realize it.
All right, final segment.
this is i mean we've been doing it but now we're going to try to structure it we're going to have an
abbreviated one because the game was too good we had to just spend some time on it mcshay after dark
is what you guys always make fun of me right and this is this is the last call this is where we get to
just say stuff and and you don't like like steve gets something off his chess we we you know i could
make a declaration or something to say something that i might regret um but
But none of this matters.
It's all off the record.
It's all off the record until it comes true and we want it on the record.
This is how this, the last call goes.
All right.
Mench does this thing, most offensive linemen do.
They sit in their locker or they're coming back from practice or at the meal hall, the training table.
And they're just like, enough already.
Enough already.
Like I can't.
There's enough already.
So, Madge, I want your enough already from today.
I am an old man shouting at the clouds.
I understand this.
Hear me out before I'm going to say what I'm going to say,
and then hear me out.
Let me explain it.
Enough with the overseas games during the regular season,
especially if it's going to be a conference game.
And it had nothing to do with the quality of the game.
Like Arizona State, Kansas turned out to be a pretty damn entertaining game today.
And they both have biweeks.
that. But 10 hours of flight time
in the middle of the season.
And then Kansas doesn't
want to like Kansas, it was like the Rams
and the 49ers about how they're handling
travel. Arizona State got over there
earlier and Kansas got over there later.
Hear me out. I get that you want
to spread, you want to
spread the game around the world
and that's good, all of it.
Play some bowl games over there. Do like the
big bend bowl. Do whatever you want with that
in the postseason where kids
can go over there, really enjoy the
culture for a week or two, really kind of enjoy that time period.
Instead of trying to fit in a conference game at the beginning of the year, where you lose a home game,
it's the same crap with the NFL to be honest with you.
Where you lose a home game, you have to do these long-ass flights to go play a game
because you're trying to spread to the game to a country that's watching it on TV anyways.
I just don't get it.
I'm over it.
I think they can get rid of it.
I couldn't agree with you more.
And you know why?
I know.
I'm the international man.
No, no, no, no, I'll say this.
This is why.
I'm the international man.
I've traveled to Africa, Europe.
I've traveled all over the world.
My parents worked for Delta Airlines.
I've been traveling internationally my whole life.
Couldn't afford to stay anywhere nice with my whole life.
Couldn't afford this, that, the other thing.
But like, we could travel because my parents would fly standby.
So we'd like take a trip.
This is the NFL.
movement.
Yeah.
We're not trying to spread
the colleges, this is about
college and pageantry
and what has
we being
college football do enough
of your free work.
Right.
We are your developmentally.
If I'm speaking, if I'm running
the NCAA NCAA with power,
like we do
all this already.
We develop them.
We train it.
And yes, it's a billion dollar industry.
And I get it, but like this, like let the NFL do that.
All right, this is, this is part of last call.
And I want to just frame it this way.
Should have stayed in the drafts with a question mark.
So you're going to, I'm going to make a statement and you respond with,
send it, leave it in the drafts or delete for everyone.
And make sure that it's really deleted afterwards.
Yep.
Mississippi State quarterback Camario Taylor will be the number one overall pick in 2028.
I, you know what you are?
You and Dan are like front runners.
Like Dan texts tonight.
He's like, I really like Trinidad Chambliss.
I'm like, no shit, Dan.
Everyone loves Trinidad Chambliss in America right now.
Everyone loves Camaro Taylor right now.
I have to be a bad guy.
But I've been like, give me an answer first.
Do you want me to delete forever?
I feel strongly both ways.
I am firmly on the fence.
Leave it in the drafts for now.
I could see it.
But what if Arge goes back for another year?
What if Sam Levitt really takes off under Lane in a year?
But I could see Cabaro Taylor being the first overall pick.
I mean, like, I'm not blind.
Like, what the kids done over the last three weeks is incredible.
I'm a little uncomfortable that he's only got five starts under his belt.
I'd like to see a little bit more.
I want to see when guys have more tape on them,
but the tools are.
I mean, the tools are ridiculous.
And then the patience and the poise
showing on top of it,
how cool is for Mississippi State fans, by the way?
I mean, if you're a Mississippi State fan,
like this, I don't think you've ever had.
You have a player there that I think could legitimately win the Heisman,
who could be the first overall pick.
I mean, how awesome is that?
But I'm going to leave it in the drafts for now.
I want to say send it, but I can't be like a fronterner, like you two.
I mean, it was McShay after dark last call and you completely hijacked it.
I don't know you want for me.
I purposely have kept kind of quiet, just to mention here of Camaro Taylor.
I was ready to go off on Camaro Taylor tonight.
But I let you take the spotlight.
Mention five stars.
This is a fun one.
Thanks, man.
