Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Megan Kelly Show, live on Sirius XM Channel 111 every weekday at New East. Hey, everyone, I'm Megan Kelly. Welcome to the Megan Kelly Show. The story I want to start with, Debbie Murphy says we can't. She says we can't. Steve Krakauer and Debbie Murphy, he's my executive producer. She, EP's News. They say we have to start with the election results. So I guess I will because I love my team. My team generally knows what's best. But I just want you to know I have a different favorite story. story, and it's coming up right after we get through this. We should tell you the actual news. There hasn't been that much news lately. Today, there is some news. The electoral results are in, and the Democrat Party's a little, a little afraid to go to a full socialist. They expressed some consternation about going hardcore socialist in a couple of races, which was disappointing for Republicans who thought the truly nutcase candidates could be more easily defeated,
Starting point is 00:01:09 like that weird lady in Wisconsin who wanted to be governor and get rid of Thanksgiving. Remember? By the way, as I was coming to air, remember her name is Francesca Hong? She was talking about how her son, I guess she's Korean, and the son is Korean and half white. And she was talking about how that son of hers, her 10-year-old, has allowed her to have a proximity to whiteness, and, you know, I guess she's just been shocked by the privilege associated with it. She brought her son with her to vote yesterday. He looks totally Korean. He doesn't look white at all. So I don't know what she's talking about. I'm not sure. I'm not sure she did have the proximity
Starting point is 00:01:50 to whiteness experience among her many, many other problems. This woman's such a mess. She was polling allegedly 22, 30 points ahead. no, she lost. It was close, but she lost. She lost to a more moderate guys, supposedly, but I mean, everyone's more moderate than this nutcase hung. Yeah, she was taken down by the establishment backed Milwaukee County Executive David Crawley. It was a stunning upset because everybody had her way up, including the betting markets, up at least 18 points in the final five public polls. Now, some of the left are trying to blame her loss on Bernie Sanders in AOC because they didn't endorse Hong.
Starting point is 00:02:33 We're seeing some say, what the hell is she tweeting about her stupid fertility treatments instead of endorsing someone from the DSA whose politics are aligned with AOCs. Hmm. Yeah, they certainly have been in the same way that these two supported Abdul El-Said in Michigan in the Democrat primary there for Senate. But why didn't they? They didn't, she was a bridge too far? Now they're pissed at those two.
Starting point is 00:02:59 but I mean, can we really say it was AOC's fault? I really think you come out against Thanksgiving. It's kind of over between you and the American people. She also had problems with Christmas. Who wants to elect such a curmudgeon stick in the mud, killjoy, buzzkill, to hire office. Wisconsin is not California. You know, it's still a swing state.
Starting point is 00:03:26 So I just think, the shock was, that she was pulling ahead for so long. The shock is not that she lost. And now this guy, Crowley, will face the Trump-back candidate, Tom Tiffany in November in the general. His campaign saying, oh, there's not a dime's bit of difference between the two of them. I mean, I see it. It's a good point. There is a dime's worth. Maybe not a quarter's worth. But here to react to this and a lot more is Emily Jashinsky. She's a Wisconsin native people. More proof that Wisconsin's not California would never produce an Emily Jashinsky. She's also host of After Party on the MK Media Podcast Network. You can go and find that on YouTube and all podcast platforms and do it because
Starting point is 00:04:08 if you're missing after party, you're missing a lot of fun with EJ. She also hosts our MK wrap-up show right after this show on SiriusXM Channel 111 live every day at 2 p.m. When you sign your insurance policy for some brokers, that's the finish line. Bye. Again, one of those polls that are up like 30 points. But then that's,
Starting point is 00:05:27 Thanksgiving clip hit, which was no boino for her. I mean, everyone loves Thanksgiving. Only a true nutcase doesn't like Thanksgiving. And then she injected more Thanksgiving into the narrative. The day was it yesterday, the day of the actual vote? Or yeah, it was
Starting point is 00:05:43 the day of the actual vote. She started talking about it again, trying to dial it back, but still, don't talk about Thanksgiving when everybody's looking at you and knowing you had to talk about it because you said he wanted to be canceled. Here's what she said yesterday on Election Day. Is there any information about you that you don't think the media has picked up on over the course of this campaign thus far?
Starting point is 00:06:06 Is there any information about yourself, your background that you think voters are potentially missing out on? I've cooked many great Thanksgiving dinner, and I'm not going to cancel things. I wanted to be a sports journalist, and I was going to go to J-school, but my parents'clock. took me on a donate to become a chef and open my own restaurant and as an employer I learned how important it is to make sure that we're respecting honoring all workers and that a small business owner things are really rigged against our small businesses and I want to make sure that there's relief for small businesses that we enshrine workers rights and that you know for many of
Starting point is 00:06:59 my fellow single moms out there Just remember how powerful you are. And I love turkey. I love mashed potatoes. I make a little gravy boat in the middle. So what do you make of it? She hates Valentine's Day, too. Valentine's Day, Christmas.
Starting point is 00:07:18 These are capitalist constructs. Yep, she had a Valentine's Day tweet. One that didn't get enough attention, because I think the Daily Wire reported on it yesterday, she had, I'm sorry to say this, administration-themed dinner. She hosted this back in, like, 2019, and was tweeting about it.
Starting point is 00:07:32 And this is part of what people don't understand, I think, about Wisconsin politics is how large Madison looms in Wisconsin politics. And she just screams Madison. Everybody in Wisconsin, whether they're Democrat or Republican, has like a neighbor or a niece who like went to UW Madison and came back after their first semester talking about hosting menstruation themed dinners and canceling Thanksgiving. And so it's just what is a menstruation themed dinner? What happens at one of these? I could tell you. Is there Bloody Mary's? No, whoa.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Megan. No, there was Korean blood sausage, apparently. I'm so sorry to bring that information to the viewers. When they sit around and talk about their periods? I'd rather not think about it. I guess I brought it up. Emily, why are we having cocktails when we get together? When we could be having this kind of fun.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Oh, my gosh. Please don't make me do that. That's going to be our next segment. You've got a makeover, and now we're going to dive deep. menstruation together. But see, this is the thing. Wow. But it just screams.
Starting point is 00:08:36 To Wisconsin people, it screams Madison. It screams out of touch. And whether it was an electability issue for Democratic voters who, as these posts started coming up, she was going on CNN, totally unnecessary, going on CNN, Fox News to talk about these things. You don't have to do that if you're running in a Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor. And so is it possible that just made Democratic voters in the last week of the campaign as she's doing all this national media, actually start to shift. I mean, Crowley's own campaign had her up
Starting point is 00:09:06 18 points within the last couple of weeks. So it wasn't just like, even his own internals were showing that. So she got trounced by Crowley in a lot of rural counties. She didn't put up the numbers that she needed to put up in Dane County where Madison is. Milwaukee County was very close. Crowley's a Milwaukee County executive. And so I think part of the problem is if you have a populist message, like this was the Zoron-Mam-Dani revolution. he's out there smiling constantly, deflecting any conversation about culture war issues. He looks cheerful,
Starting point is 00:09:38 and that was not how Francesco Hong came across at all. She came across as weird and dour. Yeah. Oh, yeah, bitter. Yeah, okay, so the team sent me the tweet. I miss working in a restaurant every day, except on Valentine's Day. She posted on Valentine's Day 2020, as if we weren't invisible enough to those who don't recognize the emotional and physical labor of service work.
Starting point is 00:10:05 The worst of humanity comes out from folks celebrating one another. On another day, capitalism tells you how to show love. It's true. I don't recognize the emotional and physical labor of service work when I go out for Valentine's Day. I will include a tip if the service is good. Other than that, I'm not thinking about that person at all. She's right. I'm not thinking about the person in the kitchen. I'm barely thinking about my waiter. As it should be, I don't need to go out and be thinking about the emotional and physical labor of service workers when I'm out there. All I need to do is be polite to them and tip them if the service is good. What kind of weird world is this? This is the world of like the cultural left. And everything has to be analyzed through this particular lens. And it's not relatable to average Americans.
Starting point is 00:10:56 So while her data center messaging might be relatable to average Democrats in the state of Wisconsin and actually average voters in the state of Wisconsin, I mean, she came very close and spent basically zero money on TV, like several hundred thousand dollars on TV and came very close to winning this election, even with all of those tweets. So it's not a total loss for the DSA. I mean, it's definitely a setback because she was, she's a like a real, died in the wool, DSA person like Mom Donnie, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. But she came very very, very close in a race that she really had no business coming that close in. Either way, part of the problem is just that is so, so profoundly unrelatable that even if people are mad
Starting point is 00:11:36 about data centers and David Crowley seems much more friendly to the data centers, they can't take you seriously. It's like, you and I have talked about this before. It's like why the trans issue is a litmus test, even if it's not the thing people are voting on, if they believe you're lying to them about thinking boys can become girls and that they should be playing in women's sports. It makes your data center message, any populist taxation message, all of that way harder to sell. And all these DSAers are pro transing the children. I mean, it's pretty egregious. In case I forget to mention it, a shout out, huge shout out to the Trump administration today, which through Dr. Oz has now said that Medicaid services will no longer
Starting point is 00:12:16 be paying for any trans surgeries or trans procedures or trans meds for children in the United States. It's a massive, massive victory. And as also said, if there's a hospital that's trying to, you know, perform these services, they're not going to get the Medicaid's funding for it. So this is, like, huge. And it's kind of what we need to be doing to crack down on illegals. Like, we need sweeping. We're doing E-Verify.
Starting point is 00:12:44 You just can't get a job at a corporation unless you are an actual citizen who can prove, you know, prove your citizenship. This is basically doing that to trans procedures through Medicaid. and it's a great, great move. But you're right. The lunacy is too much to swallow. Here's one on Halloween. I don't allow myself to work on Halloween weekend.
Starting point is 00:13:04 Or the day of, she wrote in 2019. I would actually ask every single person in costume to leave. She sounds like a real joy. You and the Disney princess outfit. You're out. Why aren't you worried about my emotional and physical well-being? Where's the question about the toll your presence here is taking? on me. I'm sure she would have handled the stress of the gubernatorial job just fine.
Starting point is 00:13:31 Speaking of the Wisconsin governor's race, and now they're up against this guy, Tiffany, who's on the Republican side, our old pal Haley Stevens, who's been popping up on CNN now, the Missagander, and I'm just going to talk to the Michigander is the way they need to be talked to. She's not gone. She's gone, but not forgotten from the race, and she's not forgotten over on CNN where now she's making regular appearances and here she is in Sot 12B. Tiffany that he's running against, I serve with him in the house and he's a nice guy, but he is kind of narrow, all right? And he's deeply conservative and his big priority is wolves. He wants to hunt wolves. I'm not kidding. He's talked to me about it many times on the house floor.
Starting point is 00:14:15 This is cool stuff. It's a good time to be a Democrat. Can I just follow up on the wolf thing? he said he wants to hunt wolves. Like, are you saying he's distracted by this priority? What's what's going on there? He talks about. Pamela, I swear to you, it is all this man talks about. Listen, I've been to Wisconsin many times. You know, I did a bunch of business there.
Starting point is 00:14:37 I mean, he's just obsessed with changing the gun laws or the hunting laws to hunt wolves. It's all he talks about. That's it, Emily. it's all he talks about. Fingers crossed, CNN hires her. I want that to happen so badly because she will do this every single day. It'll be such a gift to us. By the way, wolves are a big deal in northern Wisconsin. Tom Tiffany was a dairy farmer. Haley Stephen sounds like she's trying to talk like a dairy farmer. You'll notice Tom Tiffany doesn't talk like that even though he's a real dairy farmer. But seriously, I don't know that he's talking about wolves all the time. I've
Starting point is 00:15:15 never heard of talk about wolves, but he should be talking about wolves because he represents Northern Wisconsin, where it's a big threat to people with animals and the like. So I loved where she was going with that. She was cooking. She really is like a caricature, you know? She's not like a real person. She seems to me like a caricature. An SNL, truly, I know we've done the Chris Farley bit, but she does seem like an SNL skit
Starting point is 00:15:39 of an East Coast person's version of what a Midwesterner is like. But there she is. She's real. It's come to life. And it's there for us to behold on CNN. All right. So if you were conspiratorily minded, you might be asking yourself how all the polls got it so wrong in Wisconsin about this nutcase leading the race for governor. And then suddenly it all fell apart on the night of the vote, which, you know, she would have been a much better candidate for Tom Tiffany to run against.
Starting point is 00:16:12 It's true. I mean, she's crazy. So the other guy is a normal lefty. And Republicans do know how to defeat. them, but she's really out there and miserable. And I think would have been a much easier race for this Tiffany guy, the Republican. So it does make you wonder what happened between the polling and the vote. And the following is not going to help people who think maybe there was some tomfoolery by the Democrat Party to make sure their preferred candidate won, because the U.S.
Starting point is 00:16:49 sticks with the voting data disappeared as the vote went on. And here's NBC's Steve Kornacki reacting to that news as it came down. Saw 5. I guess the exact thing, yes, is if five of the USB sticks were missing results from the election, so then they have to go try to re-grab them. Yeah. And they're, all the folks behind the scenes are talking about this as well. So we can also Look, it's unfortunate. The folks behind the scenes here you're saying. Yes.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Are, how do I ask this artfully? He was stunned. The point is he was literally speechless because it's just so bass backwards, but also it could lead you to wonder whether it's legit.
Starting point is 00:17:46 I mean, Milwaukee, this happens with Milwaukee, time and again. And so it was interesting to see people on the left late last night, the DSA left, reacting as this played out in a similar fashion to how you saw some people in MAGA reacting as this has played out before. And when you- Don't blame them. I know, it's crazy. It's actually crazy that this is the way that we run our elections. And we're all just supposed to not ask questions, because if you ask question, you're conspiracy theorist. Yes. And did you see Jen Saki was just on MSNBC or MSN now yesterday, lamenting how things have changed
Starting point is 00:18:24 from when the Democrat Party used to decide who the candidates would be. You know, Big D Democrats, I mean, just ask Bernie Sanders, just asked Tulsi Gabbard. That's why she got excommunicated from the Democrat Party because she saw what they did to Bernie Sanders. Tulsi was a rising star.
Starting point is 00:18:40 She came on this show very early on and told us all about it. She was a rising star within the Democrat Party. They were like, oh, she's a minority, and she's a woman. and she's a whatever. She checks a couple of the minority boxes. And they were drafting her, you know, just sort of come up the ranks of Democrat power
Starting point is 00:18:55 and had her at the DNC. And next thing she knew, they were rigging the 2016 nomination contest for Hillary to keep Bernie out. And she spoke up about it. She thought it was wrong. Well, ever since that point, her name was mud.
Starting point is 00:19:10 And then you had Hillary Clinton calling her a Russian agent and all this bullshit that followed. But it was over what Jen Saki is now, openly admitting that the Democrat party used to, in her estimation, make sure it's going to be this candidate and not that candidate because they would control candidate quality and chances in these contested elections. And there's a real question about whether they are still doing that, but just through other means, like getting a bunch of homeless people to suddenly vote for the woman nobody was polling for in California in the L.A. mayoral race, for one example.
Starting point is 00:19:47 or possibly in Wisconsin to get the more allegedly moderate guy who has a better chance against Tiffany across the finish line despite an 18-point deficit to the nutcase. Right. There's a last-minute push to get the sitting lieutenant governor, Mendele Barnes, who they felt was underperforming out of the race and consolidate around two candidates. It was similar to what we saw in Michigan. Mallory McMorough had a lot of momentum, and it was basically a three-way race between Haley Stevens, Mallory McMorough, and Abdul Al-Sayed. and as Syedd started to look like he was climbing in the polls, McMorrow drops out, doesn't endorse. But clearly that allowed the vote to consolidate behind Haley Stevens, I'm sorry,
Starting point is 00:20:27 so that you could have a closer race and have a better chance at making sure that Al-Sayed does not win that election, because this is exactly what they did in 2020. As Bernie started surging, once again, like he did in 2016, you have the consolidation behind Biden, because Buttigieg and Klobuchar dropped out of the race. And so, Saki's frustration boiling over to the point where she actually made that public and plain is really interesting because I think they do feel like they're losing their grip. And this is how Republicans felt in 2016. They could do nothing. None of their chicanery was working to stop Trump. And they finally just had to give into it after trying to take him down at the convention with this ham-fisted plot that still hasn't been made into the film that it should have been, the comedy, I should say, the comedy film that it should have been.
Starting point is 00:21:14 been made into. It didn't work. And Democrats are experiencing that delayed because they had a much more centralized power structure with super delegates and the like at the DNC. Okay, let's move from Wisconsin over to Minnesota. And in Minnesota, we have actually a very interesting contest now at the Senate level. It's like Amy Klobuchar is the sitting Democratic Senator who's now trying to become the governor. because Tim Wals said he won't run for a third term because of all the Somali fraud scandal. Okay. It's so confusing.
Starting point is 00:21:51 But so he's not going to be governor anymore. So now Klobuchar views this as a promotion because she would be an executive, the chief executive of the state as opposed to just one of two U.S. senators. And vying for the seat of U.S. senator will be the lieutenant governor, Peggy Flanagan, versus Michelle Tafoya, former sports broadcaster. who came on this show right after she left the sidelines. And I said to her then and there, I certainly hope you're going to be running for office. She's just a badass. She's smart.
Starting point is 00:22:26 She's serious. She's sober. And she's a household name, and especially in Minnesota. So she's gotten the Republican nomination, and she's going to be squaring off against another nutcase. Peggy Flanagan is seriously. bizarre. She would want me to tell you she's indigenous. And this is Peggy Flanagan in March of 2023 and a sound bite. Our viewers may remember about trans and children sought eight. Because let's be
Starting point is 00:23:00 clear, this is life affirming and life saving health care. When our children tell us who they are, It is our job as grownups to listen and to believe them. That's what it means to be a good parent. Oh, my God. I mean, it's truly radical stuff while she's wearing that protect trans children t-shirt with a knife, like a cutting knife, a blade weapon on it. Okay, Peggy, what are you trying to say? I mean, she, like this is actually very interesting,
Starting point is 00:23:44 given how AOC, who was being asked to defend Francesco Hong, made her comment about how woke one was crazy. This is the type of thing that if AOC really believes, quote, woke one was crazy, they would be against, right? If that's the reason they didn't want to endorse Francesco Hong, Peggy Flanagan has leaned so hard into cultural left politics. Remember, because it was talked about with Tim Walls, they were turning Minnesota into a sanctuary state for trans kids, which is actually a really sinister plan and a really sinister policy. And so they were leaning. I mean, this was something that they saw as in Minnesota. Part of, actually, it's interesting because this is what Francesca Hong was also kind of trying
Starting point is 00:24:26 to prove that you can be cultural left and populist left. And both will kind of lift you at the same time that you don't have to ditch cultural leftism to be successful as a kind of in Minnesota, it's DFL, but as a populist Democrat. And I mean, Michelle Tafoya is going to put that to the test. It's structurally so hard for a Republican to win. in Minnesota, the time is more ripe than it has been in a long time in Minnesota for a Republican to win. She's obviously, we had her on after party right after she announced. And she's obviously a good candidate because she's not hardcore in a way that'll turn off some of the like independent swing mom types in the Minneapolis suburbs who might be looking at Peggy Flanagan in the dagger shirt
Starting point is 00:25:09 and thinking, hell no, I can't get behind this woman. I'm not voting for that. Like, it's going to be a real problem for them. Also, the Dem primary was over abolish ice. Like, that's what the Dem primary was basically coming down to. It was about, literally it was about Angie Craig supporting the Laken Riley Act. That's how she was distancing herself from her moderate opponent. So in the general election, swing voters are really going to be up for grabs for Michelle to FOIA. Mm-hmm. I think so, too. And they underestimate her at their own peril because she's extremely likable. She is a lifelong Minnesota, and she understands how they think. and what their values are.
Starting point is 00:25:46 And she has been making the pitch. Like, I get it. This state has swung too far to the radical left. And I am not a Trump sycophant. She was out there. She didn't, she kind of kept Trump at a distance. She didn't get the endorsement, I think, by design, you know, intentionally. And has said to the Minnesota voters, I'll stand up to Trump, which, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:09 Trump's core faithful may not like, but you have to understand. She's got to play the long game here. Like the Minnesota voters are not going to put somebody in office who's just a Trump rubber stamp. You got to have somebody like Michelle Tafoya who's like, I will be fiercely independent looking out for you. That's the kind of Republican that could win in Minnesota. So it would be genuinely exciting if she were to win. I'm very much rooting for Michelle and really hope they do the right thing there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:34 So that's, I mean, overall, that's how things went last night. The DSA is nutty. They continue to demonstrate their nuttiness. the new tactic is to tie El Sayed and everybody else to Hassan Piker, who's the most radical outspoken leftist in America, I think it's fair to say, at least with a platform. He's a true crazy loon, like the stuff he's saying about how America deserves 9-11, and he wipes his ass with the Constitution. I mean, we can be here all day.
Starting point is 00:27:03 But we are starting as Republicans to play the games that the Democrats play. Like, do you disavow? Disavow. Do it. Disavow. And so far, like El-Sayed, who campaigned with Hassan Piker is saying, I'm not doing that. Like, thanks, but no. But the heat is getting turned up so high around this Hassan Piker.
Starting point is 00:27:21 It's kind of interesting to me to see whether he'll be able to hold that line all the way up to election day. Because I don't know anything about Hassan Piker. I've got to be honest. I know he's Jenk Uigher's nephew. I know he says very crazy shit. I know he kicked his dog on a live feed or like... Allegedly buzzed the collar. He was zapping him.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Yeah. He totally buzzed the dog. I did watch that. I completely believe he was shocking his dog. And it just seems like a very unwell person to me. I've got to be honest. But whatever. I, what do I know?
Starting point is 00:27:51 But it is, it, it, I also don't love the game of like disavow. It's just, it's, there's, it's a turnoff to me when either side does it. You know who also hates that, I think increasingly as voters. They want to hear what you are going to do in office. They are not interested. in this. And I get why politicians are tempted to do it and campaigns are tempted to do it. But institutional trust is at record lows basically across the board in this country. And so if you are acting like a gatekeeper, you are reminding people that they don't trust the gatekeepers.
Starting point is 00:28:25 And so actually, I think it's a big turnoff for voters. I think it's now a major political mistake. I was at the walking around the convention center at the 2024 Dem convention. And the young Dems flocking to Piker was crazy. Like, it was, he was Justin Bieber at the convention, even as they were nominating Kamala Harris, someone who was, like, much more moderate and has been criticized really sharply by Hassan Piker. That was years ago before he was as popular as he is right now. So the disavowal thing, I think just, it reeks of being like a politician as usual and a gatekeeper. And that's lame to people. It's leftist behavior. It's lame to people. It's lame to people. It's leftist behavior. It's like, okay, if Hassan Piker runs for office, he's going to get it both barrels. You know, we'll go after him. We'll play every single soundbite. But like, I don't know. Like, Jenk Weeger was defending the association and whatever. I don't, I don't know if I'm phrasing it right, but he was on Pierce Morgan the other day saying, why don't you ask some of these candidates, why they associate with Benjamin Netanyahu, who, you know, millions of people believe has committed a genocide.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Why don't you ask that question? Why is it just this guy's incendiary comments from his microphone that are relevant? Like, you really could play this game forever, which is why I'm not interested. If Hassan Piker runs for office, he's in trouble. And as a politician, people want to know what you think, right? Like, do you think that America deserve 9-11? If they haven't said that they think that or given anybody an indication to think that, this kid's a Twitch streamer who's, like, entertaining people for clicks.
Starting point is 00:30:04 So if you have no reason to believe that they think that, the game is counterinting. eluded and hard for voters to follow. Especially if you're an older politician and you're looking to get younger people interested in you and then, you know, this is why you've associated with this guy or you want him to be talking about you to his followers, I can understand why you think it might make sense. I think it's disgusting. I think what he says and he did say that shit about 9-11. And I don't believe him that he takes it back.
Starting point is 00:30:27 I think he meant it. But whatever. It's going to be the Democrats problem who have associated with him. Okay, let's keep going. there is, well, my team would like you to see this soundbite from Hassan Piker, who tried to defend the Thanksgiving lady as follows. Sought for. Guys, the Thanksgiving Gate is not as consequential as you think it is, please.
Starting point is 00:30:50 Thanksgiving Gate does not factor into the equation. Her, you know, less than fantastic debate performance where there was not a lot of antagonism. No one was attacking her. She didn't like shine in the election at a time when more and more people, People are starting to pay close attention to the races. My mom made me warm me some pasta from the other night. What a fucking night this has been, bro. What a dishaboy can update.
Starting point is 00:31:15 So I don't have the fullest grasp of this. I hate my big chunk is live. But it appears there are some irregularities in the reporting process. So he's got a lot going on. What's there to disavow? Sure, that's just as controversial. as he gets, not, not. We could be here all day for playing
Starting point is 00:31:39 controversial soundbikes from him. But yeah, he's eating pasta from his mom. So relatable, Emily. Although, it's been a long time since my mom's been cooking my meals. Gotta be honest. Well, I saw on Instagram that maybe you shouldn't be cooking your meals. I'm cooking my own now and starting small fires in my home. Did you see that?
Starting point is 00:31:56 I saw it on Instagram. I immediately sent it to my boyfriend and I was like, at least I don't do this. Can I tell you what happened? It was a nightmare. So I don't know if the audience is familiar, but I post it on my Instagram. There it is. Oh, my team had it at the ready. I didn't even tell them to.
Starting point is 00:32:14 That's the fire department inside my home. Three of them. In all, there were five here. And the big truck and then the little trucks, too. And it all started because I tried to cook a chicken cutlet, a breaded chicken cutlet, like in Panko. And you have to put it in a cast iron frying pan. with oil, not a ton of oil, but it did start to smoke. And I had, it's, the problem is, it's a relatively new stove. And the little, like the smoke, the fan thing, it's supposed to go on
Starting point is 00:32:48 automatically. And it didn't go on. And I think it's because I turned it off. I think it was annoying me and I turned it off. So then the smoke got out of control, I guess. I didn't really pay attention. And the smoke alarms went off. And they went off everywhere, which makes sense, because if you actually have a fire, you want to let everybody in the house know that there's a fire, but everywhere they were going off and loud and like it was, eh, eh, eh, and some of them speak and say, fire, fire, I hate that. Which there wasn't. And so I'm running around it, like trying to get the smoke out, opening up the windows and opening up the doors.
Starting point is 00:33:22 And the dogs are going crazy because it's so piercingly loud just as a human ear, never mind to a dog ear. So I let him out on the side lawn, which Strudwick is not allowed to do because he's so, he's such a men. and the pool is there. And that dog cannot be near that pool because he will not just go in the pool that I can handle, but he loves to rub himself in the dirt and then run all around the hardscape and the furniture that we have out there, which is the pain in the ass to clean. Anyway, I had to do it. The dogs are out. The fire department came. I mean, if there had been like a five alarm fire, this fireman would not have been dressed any differently. They had every piece of gear on, Emily, every single piece at the...
Starting point is 00:34:05 And they got to the door. I opened up the door. And they clearly saw there was no fire. And they go, did you try to cook? They had a feeling. Yes. I thought. So we're running around trying to override the system.
Starting point is 00:34:19 We can't try to turn off the electricity, which we did. Then you turned back on the electricity. The alarm started up again. Finally got in touch with the alarm guy who showed me how to turn it off. And it finally went off. And they left. We took pictures. They let me sit in the fire truck.
Starting point is 00:34:35 That was fun. They did. Like you're in kindergarten? They did. Come on, Megan. You can take a ride. They're like, do you want to stay in the fire truck? I'm like, kind of.
Starting point is 00:34:42 So they let me. And then we, they wanted some selfies. So I gave him selfies. And I wanted a selfie with them. So they gave me one. And then, um, then I go outside. Strudwick is the disaster I knew he would be. The whole lawn, it was torn up.
Starting point is 00:34:57 There was dirt everywhere. He had gotten into some old food that my kids had left out there. He was rolling in the dirt in the flower bed right out of, out of the pool wet and rolling in the dirt and then running all over the furniture. I'm like, get inside, get back inside. So I get them back inside. And then I finally turned back to the chicken.
Starting point is 00:35:14 I had nine chicken breasts. I was going to make these to get the whole family through the weekend. You know, I was like, you can have it for dinner on the go or you can have it for lunch if you need something. We eat so badly when we're at the beach. So I, whatever. So nine chicken breasts.
Starting point is 00:35:28 And I had cut them in half. So I had 18. I had two. that were cooked, two. And I come back in to see, to see the mess, and see, they're now all covered in flies from my open windows and my open doors, which I don't have any screens. Why don't I have any screens, Emily?
Starting point is 00:35:50 So then they all had to go in the garbage. I threw them all out. And I went out to dinner. My husband was out with doing this weird sports Olympics things with his friends. But I went out with some friends who were like, come here. They gave me a nice cocktail. We had a delicious dinner. But I was like, cooking is not for me. I mean, it's not for me. I thought for sure you had actually started a fire. So in a way, that story is actually vindicating and redeeming. You did not start a fire. This is the alarm system's fault that you didn't do anything wrong. Maybe you should have remembered your turn the fan on, but you didn't start a fire. You were fine. Yes. It all boils down to the new stove that insists on like,
Starting point is 00:36:34 going off automatically. And the reason I turn it down is because you will boil an egg, which makes no smoke. And it will suddenly go, run, turn on to like number five. And it's loud. You're like, oh, my God, what's happening? And that level was needed while I was doing the chicken, but I had already turned it down. And I guess once you turn it down, it stays down. I don't, I don't understand my new stove. I don't, there are, there are limits to the short list of gifts that God gave me. And not one is present inside the culinary arts. It's very sad. Same.
Starting point is 00:37:10 I've tried so many times my audience knows. My only regret on my whole kitchen snafu is that my dear mother-in-law was not alive to enjoy this because my kitchen follies were among her favorite thing in life. And I would have loved to how to have a laugh with her over. Anyway, okay, so that's a long digression. That's not actually what I wanted to talk to you about next. I don't even remember how we got there. I wanted to talk to you. I don't either.
Starting point is 00:37:33 This is a different kind of. Alarm Fire. In Massachusetts, they've now passed an abortion law, allowing abortion all the way up to birth, all the way through the ninth month, the 40th week of pregnancy. And the signing ceremony with this Morahili, the Democrat governor there, looks like they are signing a bill to give children a lifetime supply of chocolate. Do we have the video? Can we watch this? It's deeply disturbing. Here, watch. Thank you, nice. Oh, my God. All these women are so grateful to her for the chance to kill their unborn child up to birth. Let me just say something.
Starting point is 00:38:24 I'm like, I don't talk about an abortion alone in this show. I just, it's such a deeply personal issue. And like, I just, I try to avoid it. I just think it raises too much emotions. And my old school journalist inside of me is like, that's not something I should be opining on. But the ninth month, you've got to be kidding me. This is barbaric. And just as a reminder, okay, just as a reminder, here is what Kamala Harris has had to say when she was running for president about the notion that Democrats want abortion all the way up to the ninth month.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Let's start with 15B. They say that allows Democrats to perform abortions up until, you know, birth. Which is ridiculous. Ridiculous. Here's 15C, Biden and Kamala Harris on this issue. We are not for late-term abortion, period, period, period. Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion. That is not happening.
Starting point is 00:39:28 It's insulting to the women of America. In Massachusetts is the 10th state, they're all blue states, to allow this with the cheering female crowds all around. on this governor as she gives permission to murder a 40-week-old baby in uterus. It's awful. Did you notice they were wearing pink? It reminded me, many of them were clearly intentionally coordinating to wear pink, which reminded me of when Andrew Cuomo lit up the Empire State Building, pink, I believe after signing a similar bill. If I'm remembering correctly, it was after signing a similar bill. And I went and read the language of this Massachusetts bill this morning. And this is the logical extension of their position on abortion. So it's no wonder that they're happy about it.
Starting point is 00:40:13 What it does is totally remove state limits on why someone could receive a late-term abortion, meaning it says it is entirely up to the discretion of the patient and the physician. Now, the New Yorker and the Atlantic have profiled a man who does late-term abortions. He specializes in late-term abortions in Colorado in recent years. I think he's in the Denver area. He said the majority of the abortions that he does are of healthy babies. There's a complete misconception because a lot of times actually the Massachusetts law, interestingly enough, I went and read it this morning. One of the things that they have in it was already that you could have a mental illness or a mental health reason for wanting to get an abortion in the ninth month. And that is actually where a lot of
Starting point is 00:40:57 people who don't have legitimate health problems with carrying a baby to term, that's a clear loophole. And that's the fact check that allows the corporate media and Kamala Harris. and Joe Biden to say we're not for full, we're not for a late-term abortion because when you have the mental health exemption in it, that can be abused wildly. And it is, frankly. We've seen it many times throughout the country. It's an exception that swallows the rule. Yep. Yep. Exactly. So this is very dark. And late-term abortion in this country is actually not even controversial. Virtually everyone's against it. I mean, it's just only these loons would favor such a thing. And honestly, at that point in your pregnancy, there are very few.
Starting point is 00:41:36 things that actually pose a threat to the life of the mother. I mean, I think Lila Rose would tell you at that point, whatever happens, you would just give birth to the baby. They would do what they could to keep the baby alive. But the answer in that far along in a pregnancy is not to kill the baby. It's to give birth to the baby, do what you can to save the baby and save the mother as well. And that brings me to the saga of McKenna West, whose story we broke here in the national media on Thursday. She is the surrogate mom from Alaska who's pregnant with a baby who's due on September 2nd, a little boy she's calling Gabriel, whose biological parents have hired her to be their surrogate. They're from California. And baby Gabriel was diagnosed with a heart defect, a congenital heart
Starting point is 00:42:27 defect at age 20 weeks. And the parents told her to abort him. And she refused, even though the surrogacy contract says they can dictate when to have an abortion. When the rubber met the road, she couldn't do it. And she refused to abort him. And now he's almost due. And they're in a massive legal battle that is taking center stage in this country about who's going to dictate care when he's born. Because what he has is this heart condition that if you get three surgeries, one right after birth, one, I think a year or two after and then one right after that, is very survivable. You actually can survive and have a have a thriving life. We showed video of a little boy who had it on our show on Thursday. And she's moved to Texas for now where the law is very good on this issue. And Ken Paxton,
Starting point is 00:43:17 who is running for Senate down there for John Corny's old seat, he stepped in because he's the attorney general and argued on McKenna's behalf and said, this baby deserves a guardian ad litem, somebody to argue for the baby's rights himself. And it's the family, the parents, the biological parents should be forced to provide life-saving care once this infant is born because there was a question about whether those parents are prepared to just provide palliative care, like let him die comfortably or actually provide the surgery that could save his life. And now there's been a court ruling.
Starting point is 00:43:52 We were waiting for it yesterday saying this child will be given life-saving treatment if he needs it upon birth, but recognizing the biological parents as the parents. So it's not yet done. We're still awaiting more court rulings on this, Emily, but we are in a fierce fight here that's going to affect Ken Paxton's probable Senate run. It's going to affect the right to life in this country, and it's going absolutely to affect surrogacy in this country. Absolutely it is. And this puts, again, to the test, the idea that abortion is totally about women's bodily autonomy. That That is the left's position. That's exactly why you see bills like the one in Massachusetts being signed so proudly.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Because if you really do believe that, if you believe that a woman's bodily autonomy is a right that is higher than the right to life, then of course, you have to defend this. You have to defend this vigorously and you have to defend this proudly. But we know, just the fact that we know this little baby has a congenital heart defect tells us how developed he is. He is a beautiful little life that is already bringing joy to the woman who is carrying him. equal dignity to you and me, and our government doesn't recognize it depending on the state that you're in. So these cases, I mean, technology is pushing the abortion question into a much more interesting place, I think, because it's starting to challenge some of what we thought we knew about what happens in the body and how we develop as human beings in utero. But people need to go
Starting point is 00:45:18 back and watch your interview if they haven't, even just focusing on some of the cases of people who have survived these congenital heart defects and went on to be beautiful living, breathing humans just like you and me. It's hard to even talk about, but I hope people do confront the challenges of this case because it does put to test. If you really believe this is about a woman's bodily autonomy, what you're saying is that's more important than this little baby's life, which is already in existence, human and alive. That's a human life.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Meets those two criteria, as Christopher Hitchens said, actually, famously. If these biological parents don't want him, let a parent or a family that does have him. You just wanted him aborted. You just said you wanted him killed. Now he's not killed. He's going to be born. Why don't just give him up? Like McKenna said, her brother wants to adopt him.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Lila Rose was here too. She's got lots of families who would adopt him. They'll help with the medical issues, all of that. You don't have to worry about the money. Just give him up. Stop. Stop with this. like to fight for custody for him just so that he could be allowed to die,
Starting point is 00:46:23 which is still on the table potentially. The parents haven't said much publicly at this point, the biological. So we are continuing to follow this because we're the baby's born. The baby's due to be born on September 2nd. And there's precious little time to make sure this legal fight gets resolved the right way. That's basically a man's longer and it should be treated as such. It's deeply disturbing. And now we know this baby.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Now it's a baby boy. His name is Gabriel. He has a mother right now carrying him to term. And the court has stepped in to recognize his rights, his right to life as he's about to be born. It just cannot be. And honestly, it just is a political matter. These Democrats should not want it to be that these biological parents are allowed to take him and just watch him die, watch him suffer and die. You might already own a firearm. But what if you could start with less lethal methods to avoid the financial and mental repercussions of pulling the trigger? This is where
Starting point is 00:47:18 Burnah comes in. I love Burna. B-Y-R-N-A. Burna's less lethal launchers are equipped with tear gas and kinetic ammo, and they're designed to incapacitate an attacker for up to 40 minutes. And by the way, you don't have to actually hit the attacker for Burna to work. If you hit the wall right behind the attacker, they could still be incapacitated due to all of the gases that will overcome them. So I like that if you're not a great shot. And Burna is excited to introduce the all-new compact launcher. It's sleek, it's slim, it hits like a sledgehammer, but it's the same size as a smartphone, so it will pop right into your purse, and women, for example, can conceal, carry everywhere comfortably and with confidence. It fires at 400 feet
Starting point is 00:48:04 per second. That's a lot of power to stop aggressors in their tracks, and their pistols are American-made and hand-assembled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with over 80% of the components in the compact launcher being sourced in the USA. Burna is legal in all 50 states. Burna requires no background checks and can be shipped directly to your door. And Burna is trusted by hundreds of police departments too. Try before you buy. Visit burna.com. B.RNA.com.
Starting point is 00:48:32 To find a burner dealer partner near you, that's B.RNA.com. Emily Jashinsky, host of After Party and the MK Wrap Up Show, is back with me. Okay. So we have to properly address my favorite story of the day. It has to do with Canada, the evil top hat, misbehaving yet again. They have their own Miss Universe pageant, just to start at the beginning again. They have their own Miss Universe pageant. And it didn't go well.
Starting point is 00:49:04 It happened last week. Things went way off the rails. Okay. Here's how it got started. They decided to have a national, costume segment. Now, you're playing with fire, my friends up north. You're playing with fire. Right? I can speak to this personally. Be careful. If you're a woke Canadian, you don't want a national costume segment. And you certainly don't want one whose goal is, quote, a celebration of
Starting point is 00:49:35 Canadian culture and heritage combined with creativity. It's not going to go well. Each delegate must showcase a unique costume dress or outfit inspired by Canada's traditions, symbols, and history. Now, a gal who's in the pageant, two gals, one named Carissa Haverkamp, and one named Jasline Kelly, took it very seriously. Carissa wore a feather headdress and a red handprint painted on her face, which is a symbol representing solidarity with the missing and murdered indigenous women's movement. Okay, that's the one gal there. The other gal, that's the one on the right with the headdress. The one on the left is Jaslene Kelly, whose costume was the theme Arctic Beauty, featuring an all-fur dress and boots known as mucklucks.
Starting point is 00:50:29 And here's the real sin, Emily, two braids. WTF. She had the nerve to wear braids, and the BBC would like us to know. And I quote, hair braiding can have deep cultural meaning for First Nations people. Okay, so you're offending people by wearing braids. Chasleen is an interior design student model and humanitarian advocate. She hopes to one day become a globally recognized interior designer and humanitarian leader, proving that success is most meaningful when it is used to uplift others.
Starting point is 00:50:59 So she's going to find you a home if you're homeless and then design it for you and make it. I'm not sure how you combine those two, but that's, she didn't get off to the right, on the right foot. Because the people who she wants to impress with her humanitarian commitments, they're not going to go for this, Jasmine. Let me tell you right now, your braids, your Arctic beauty, and your all fur dress are a hard no. But you don't have to take my word for it, even though you should because I do have experience in this department. Listen to previous Miss Universe winner out of Canada, Ashley Calling Bull. And now the last name should tell you something about where. this is going.
Starting point is 00:51:44 Calling Bull, which you could separate down to calling bull or calling bull, which is how she sees it. Had something to say about those outfits and those damn braids. She's a Plains Cree woman from the Inoc Cree Nation.
Starting point is 00:52:02 And she was out there as a co-host to the event. She went back in 2024. So she's standing next to this dude named Sonny Borelli, who's the national director of Miss Universe Canada. And they're doing something else in the pageant. She has not been asked to come out there and comment on or judge the costume segment at all. They've moved on.
Starting point is 00:52:23 She actually is, like it's a couple days later and she's trying to help co-officiate, co-host this pageant. She hijacks it to interject her opinions on the costume segment that happened days earlier. Let me do it this way because she first decided to go on the radio, which knows. no one asked her to do and start bitching about the pageant she was co-hosting, letting everyone know that calling Bull had some real problems with the way shit was going down. Here's the radio segment first. I felt like I was educating them and giving them hell at the same time because I needed them to understand how bad this was and how much it affects other people. And I'm glad I got the message across, but it was heavy on me.
Starting point is 00:53:14 It was really heavy on my heart. Okay. I, I, I, I, me, me, me. She was apparently for the costume segment, not in the arena, she saw it online. She was outraged. She called into her own pageant to educate them and also to give them hell. You might say call bull on what they had done. And so she felt she was so outright.
Starting point is 00:53:35 She had to call into the local radio station to shit on the competition that she was the queen of. I mean, 2024. Your reign is over. But whatever. And then she's just supposed to do her duties. And as you know, just like with the Oscars or the Grammys, airtime on the stage is precious. Everything you say comes at the expense of something else they had in the rundown. Calling Bull.
Starting point is 00:53:59 If you had spent any time in television, you would know that. She went on. Her hijacking went on. I couldn't believe how long it was. It's too long for me to play the whole thing. We cut it down to one minute. here is the one minute that we cut from what was like a three minute speech she gave. Watch. I have the envelope and we're going to call our top 20.
Starting point is 00:54:20 Before we do that, Sunny, I wanted to acknowledge something. What? What? Turn the music down just a little bit. So with Miss Universe Canada, me being the first Indigenous First Nations Miss Universe Canada, that was such an huge honor. I wanted to acknowledge this during the national competition, the costume competition, there was cultural appropriation
Starting point is 00:54:42 that was done towards indigenous peoples and with Sunny he took action by listening to me I feel that it's my responsibility to also give you an opportunity to say something to the indigenous community because yes there was a statement but I'm sorry it goes so far yes on behalf of all of us
Starting point is 00:55:01 I missed Universe Canada it was not our intent to offend anybody and if we did we take full responsibility we will learn from it we will make it better we will make it right. We love you. We love Canada. And that's why we're here. Yes. And what I'm going to take another step further. I reached out to Ashley. We'd like to invite you to be the official liaison to our costume competition moving forward. We apologize again. We love you. Now that we are celebrating people's cultures. Let's celebrate who's making it into the top 20, right?
Starting point is 00:55:33 Oh my God. She's good. She is insufferable. So that How about that, right? Now we're going to call the top 20. Before we do that, turn the music down. By the way, I love that they didn't. They didn't. They clearly did not want her to interrupt this way. It was cultural appropriation.
Starting point is 00:55:52 Sunny, you took action, but you need, after listening to me, but your statement wasn't good enough because this poor guy, Sunny, of course, is with his man bun. I don't feel bad for Sonny. I don't feel bad for Sonny. No, me neither. Now the two girls had to, had to issue. issue statements. Have her camp. I acknowledge and recognize that my outfit for the national costume caused hurt and offense to people in the indigenous community. I'm proud of my own great-grandmother and her resilience and how much she was there for my dad and desire to share
Starting point is 00:56:20 that with Canada and the world. I appreciate what I've learned from this experience. Blah, blah, blah. Self-flagellation. Then the other gal, Kaylee. My intention was never to disrespect or misrepresent indigenous culture, but rather to recognize and celebrate one of the first peoples of Canada. Everyone's sorry. Miss the Universe Canada. They apologized and thanked calling Bull. We've recently received feedback regarding some of the national costumes. We want to address this directly and sincerely. If any costume caused offense hurt or misunderstanding, please know it was never our intention. This segment was intended to celebrate creativity, heritage, and identity. However, we recognize that every design requires deep care, respect, and continuous evaluation.
Starting point is 00:56:54 A special thank you to our former Miss Universe Canada, Ashley Calling Bull for her guidance, advice, and assistance on how best to address and resolve this. To ensure that this doesn't happen again, now we're going to have a comprehensive costume guide. The guide will establish clear guidelines and standards for all future pageant cycles to ensure every presentation is thoughtful and respectful. And lo and behold, Ashley Calling Bull will run the costume segment from here. So you can wear what? Like, I don't know, little cat ears and the tail.
Starting point is 00:57:28 I'm like, what are you going to be able to get away with now? Because you come anywhere close to, like, a fucking brink. and you're out of there. You know, my favorite kind of Megan Kelly show segment is a segment in which Megan Kelly cracks Megan Kelly up. I guess you're reading the details of the story. You were like losing it. And it's funny because five years ago, we would all have been expected to treat this like
Starting point is 00:57:56 a serious controversy because actually there would have been like boycotts organized and the organization itself would have had to have pretended to care about it. And like, yes, they are pretending to care about it, whatever. But it would have been, yeah, you could get fired. Thank God, nobody did. Thank God, nobody did Diana Ross. Thank God. That was like, exactly.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Can you mad? The universe dodged a bullet. And this is the silver line. Now, you will be allowed to appear as a maple leaf only. That will be the new costume competition. It's so absurd. Like, and back to the damn braid thing. I was just saying this.
Starting point is 00:58:35 Remember, right? You heard this the other day. When we weren't allowed to put braids at all because you were considered a racist. If you go down to the Caribbean, all these women, the local women are like, oh, can I braid your hair? And like they make $40 if you let them do it. No, if you say yes and you put $40 in a black woman's pocket down in the Bahamas to break your hair, that you're a racist for doing that. You help a black woman out by giving her the 40 bucks to let her do something she's great at. Fuck you, racist.
Starting point is 00:59:00 That's how it is. And yet, like, so this girl's trying to honor. She's like featuring the indigenous, you know, culture at the Miss Universe, like calling attention to it. God bless these people. This is how the native dance and let's celebrate. No, you're a racist. You apologize. The pageant will humiliate you.
Starting point is 00:59:20 The person who's humiliating you will be made the new boss of the whole costume segment. It's the self-flagellation is stomach turning. It genuinely creates acid in my stomach. I mean, the implications of Ashley calling Bull's argument, which is just about herself, she's using this as a virtue signal, she's using this as a fashion statement. Like, she's using this as an ideological fashion statement. You can tell, by the way, she keeps saying me. But the implication is actually rather offensive to minorities to indigenous folks in Canada, as Francesca Hong would say, because it makes them out to be perpetual victims who are so fragile and weak that they are. deeply offended by cultural appropriation is hurtful to them because they saw people dress in indigenous costumes as opposed to an honor.
Starting point is 01:00:12 They're not watching the Miss Universe page. As opposed to an honor. Yeah. Every normal person, whatever their culture is, if you see somebody else celebrating it, these girls weren't like shitting on Native Canadians, I guess it is, indigenous. At all, they were like celebrating saying this is a thing of beauty. Let's celebrate them in a gorgeous way. These are, you know, stunning model types up there.
Starting point is 01:00:33 No, everything's got to be offensive, right? It's like, so okay, the solution is we won't celebrate you at all. We will never honor your culture. We will never teach our children about the way that your people lived or have the day in school where they can go into a teepee and, you know, dress in sort of indigenous robes or something. No, hell no. They'll all be called little racists. We're just going to skip right over that.
Starting point is 01:01:00 and your culture will get slowly but surely forgotten because there aren't enough of you to keep it going without some other peoples to then also discuss it and possibly wear it and celebrate it. Like there's just not enough of you. So let's just do the math. It's just it's so absurd. I can't believe we're still playing this game. Canada is so lost. Debbie, why do you live there? Why? Why? You move there and you won't come. back. You just kept having Canadian children. Now you're stuck up there with the Melody Wise Hearts of the world. Oh, the kids are Canadians. Debbie. Yeah. Yeah. She not only married a damn Canadian. She gave birth to damn Canadians. And now she's stuck up there.
Starting point is 01:01:46 Now she's talking about their national health care and like how the system's working. I don't even know what to do with her. Okay, but I love her. Equally outrageous behavior down here in our country from the WMBA. This is the last segment. We've got to get to this, though. You don't wait until your house is on fire to install a smoke detector. You don't wait until the wind and rain hammer your windows and the power goes out to prepare for a hurricane. You don't reach for your seatbelt after you've had a crash because after the crash, the hurricane or the house fire, it's all too late. Similarly, you do not wait until the dollar goes to zero before you buy gold. It's too late then too. So consider diversifying with precious
Starting point is 01:02:26 metals right now because you never know what will threaten your savings next. persistent inflation, we've all been feeling that, a weakening dollar, unexpected financial disruptions. You don't know what's coming, but you can take a preventative step right now. One option requesting a free info kit on gold from Birch Gold Group. One of the moments that really changes how you think about your future is when you start taking responsibility for other people, right? Whether it's getting married, buying a home, starting a family, you realize that planning ahead does matter. And that is one of the reasons I think life insurance is so important. I know nobody wants to think about it,
Starting point is 01:03:26 but if you just think about it for a very short time and take care of it, then you don't have to think about it again, right? Just having coverage can help provide financial security for the people you care about most if the unexpected happens. I mean, it's not unexpected. Starting point is 01:04:23 I've got some exciting news. I now have my very own channel on Sirius X-M. It's called the Megan Kelly channel. And it is where you will hear the truth, unfiltered, with no agenda, and no apologies. Along with the Megan Kelly show, you're going to hear from people like Mark Halperin, Link Lauren, Morwin Callahan, Emily Jashinsky, Jesse Kelly, really clear politics, and many more. It's bold, no BS news, only on the Megan Kelly channel, Sirius XM 11, and on the Sirius XM app. On the Braids discussion, yesterday on the show, we were talking about this Dijonet Carrington,
Starting point is 01:05:01 who plays for the sky, and she committed this. obviously intentional foul against Sophie Cunningham and could have really hurt her. She got her by the neck. It was disturbing to see. She got the flagrant two foul, which meant she got ejected from the game. And then she tweeted white privilege from her locker room and added the Indiana fever. But she tagged the Indiana fever on it. And she did it right after this happened.
Starting point is 01:05:24 It was so clear what happened. Then when she started to get a bunch of shit for like, how dare she call white privilege in the WMBA? What? Come on. she was like, I never said it was about the foul or the fever. No, no, you literally did CC the fever on your comment. And then started a lecturer in her little post saying, as follows, because she went to school at Stanford for some of this bullshit, you know, African American studies. I actually went to school, one of the top universities I might add to educate myself on this exact subject.
Starting point is 01:05:57 I would never use that term as a rhetorical weapon, knowing the historical and social. weight it holds without having the proper evidence to substantiate it. And she said that it's on the last thing from ignorant or assinine when it comes to speaking on white privilege. Do your research on that one. Okay. Now, let me tell you something about this girl. So first of all, two points.
Starting point is 01:06:20 Jason Whitlock. I got a lot of thoughts. Jason Whitlock tweeted out a full screen, a picture of Dijonet when she graduated from Stanford. Here it is. and Dijana now. And honestly, like, this is what got me talking about the braids. It's like, look at her on the right. She's got hair that's whiter than mine, straighter than mine, super long.
Starting point is 01:06:41 It goes down to her butt now. And so she can wear this, which is obviously white girl hair, but I can't wear a braid or I'm a racist, like, or in Canada, a feather. Like, you can't do it. But this is fine. She's allowed to culturally appropriate from me, but I can't culturally appropriate from her is it only works one way in becoming a racist, which is bullshit. But his point was more about look at, look at how she looks now. Can you put that back up there? Like she appears to have done
Starting point is 01:07:11 something like to give herself filler face, like the super puffed out cheekbones, the like overly arched eyebrows, the the like overly lined lips and like the toad, you know, with like the facial expression and the bright blonde hair as opposed to the stunningly gorgeous person she was in the picture from Stanford where she just looks like a normal gorgeous gal. And Jason Whitlock, he's amazing. He posted on X quote, look at what the WMBA stole from us. The young lady on the left is the dream of every black father and every black son. The woman on the right is feminism's creation and a nightmare. Jeanette Carrington in both pictures, one in college, the other in the WMBA.
Starting point is 01:08:03 Right on. I totally agree with him. And it's also the place that she started to talk like she talked in that post. She sounded like a normal person in her videos from Stanford and get this attitude. Right. It was the WMBA that did this to her, not Stanford. Which is why you shouldn't send your daughter there. This league corrupts you in a very sick and unhealthy way. And then one final point, Emily. Her privilege claim. Okay. This woman, her dad was in the NFL. No.
Starting point is 01:08:36 And apparently was like really good. Standout safety in the NFL. Oh no. Who played in two, not one, but two Super Bowls during his eight-year professional career. Her mother, Vicky, was a star track athlete. She attended Horizon Christian Academy, a private K-12 school in San Diego. it closed in 2018, but her tuition there averaged between $8 and $11,000 a year, a year. And this was back, you know, quite a few years ago when she was in grade school.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Modern day estimates would put that around $17,000 for kindergarten, up to $20,000 a year for high school. She became a highly touted prospect who played for elite programs. She attended Stanford University and finished up her college career at Baylor. I don't know about you, but I did not go to a fancy private school that cost 20 grand a year or have both of my parents in the home since my dad died when I was 15, both of them earning, both of them with enormous privilege thanks to their incredible God-given talents in the athletic field, one who was a double NFL Super Bowl player. How dare she try to play the white privilege card?
Starting point is 01:09:52 actually having two parents in your home is more predictive as a privilege of getting good grades than is money. So that in and of itself, which sets her apart from a lot, unfortunately, of black kids in this country and white kids too. But that, of course, sets herself, that sets her apart. And I think all of this just shows how shallow the identity politics really are, because to your point about how it's only appropriation when it's a white person appropriating minority culture, they would, if they were here, say, yeah, absolutely. It's actually baked into the texts about intersectionality and cultural appropriation that came out of academia in the 1980s and the 1990s, particularly. They say you can only commit cultural appropriation if you are from the race in power.
Starting point is 01:10:39 But all of the shows, like even as we were just talking about having money, having two parents, it is not skin deep. And to act like all of this is skin deep, is racist in and of itself. It makes zero sense, and I'm so glad that more and more people don't feel like they have to take this stuff seriously because it is utterly farcical and dumb and makes no sense. It is hilarious, but it makes no sense. I'm very tempted to show up on the air tomorrow with Jason R. Day hair and see how that goes over. Don't do that. The dreads down to my knees. I wonder how that go over.
Starting point is 01:11:18 Why could she have my hair, but I can't have her hair? Honestly, it's like, it's such bullshit. Like, meanwhile, I couldn't care less what color she dyes her hair or whether she straight. It's great. If that's what you think looks good, you do you. I honestly don't care. It's only this woke, scold type on the left that's ripping on the girls who wear the braids and tweeting out white privilege that would chastise somebody for wearing a braid or something that she considers just for black people. It's just outrageous.
Starting point is 01:11:46 And now, while we're on the subject of the WNBA, the coach of the fever, this Stephanie White, her first instinct was not to have Sophie Cunningham's back and say, holy shit, this Dijon A character almost broke her neck. It was to say, nay, she's going to get in there. She's going to defend that basket. She's not just going to let you run in there
Starting point is 01:12:08 and do a layup. And I don't think this was intentional. You know, it's with the hard foul. Okay, whatever. But like, this wasn't intentional. Like, what are you saying? It obviously was. Everybody else on earth disagrees with you. And why don't you have the back of your player, Stephanie? This woman, Stephanie, is very bizarre. Whenever she talks to me, she sounds like she's trying to like sound like a tough guy or like a man. I think this is what the WMBA does to you. You lose all femininity and you think that like to be cool or an authority figure, you have to act like a man or like a foul mouth person. Now, I come by my foul mouth authentically. It's authentic.
Starting point is 01:12:48 You're Irish. Okay. And I practiced law for 10 years. That's really where it happened. But anyway, you can see she's using it to like sound tough in the following clip. And she's now pitched. They were going to their next game. And she held a presser before the game all about herself.
Starting point is 01:13:09 She went on. I never do sound bites more than a minute. I told the team to make an exception here because I want you to hear it all. and then we're going to analyze it like the Zapruder film. Watch. No, I'm going to start today. You know, this isn't necessarily for those people that are in this room. This is more for an online community that's trying to create narratives that simply don't exist, trying to create a fabrication or distortion of who I am, of what I'm about.
Starting point is 01:13:41 Our player's success, our players' health and wellness, our player's safety is always, a top priority for me. One of the things I pride myself on is my relationships with players. For those who have anything to say about the play in the last game, I didn't see the play in real time. I went straight to a press conference. I thought the play got called right. Thankfully, Sophie's okay. Was it egregious? Absolutely. When you have a chance to watch that over and over and over on replay, you can see that. I didn't have that in real time. I take personally any suggestions that I don't 100% always have my players back. I ride with them 10 toes down all the time, all the time.
Starting point is 01:14:24 They know that. It's a shame that we can't have an opportunity to talk about what great basketball they're playing. Because they are fucking playing. Okay. The reality is with me, I will always lead with love. I will always lead with grace. I will always lead with humility and I will always lead with integrity
Starting point is 01:14:50 doesn't mean I'll always get it right I'm also human the hate the fear mongering the divisiveness the stuff that's trying to hijack our league will not win okay it won't win
Starting point is 01:15:06 sounding on the table we are united we are connected we will not be divided every day these women put their on the line every day when they go low we go high love will win grace will win
Starting point is 01:15:27 humility will win and kindness will win I stand by them I will always stand by them everybody else can go to hell I think she is I've got chill bravo well done Stephanie love and kindness go to fucking hell
Starting point is 01:15:55 she's banging us oh we lost the plot does he come back come back I but when they go low we go high go to hell oh wait with Stephanie no you're doing it wrong we got to talk
Starting point is 01:16:10 sister this is not the way this this gal is entertaining okay so let's go over it I'm gonna start I'm I'm me me the whole thing. Well, but no, no, no, that's not fair because she's leading with humility, Megan, so it's not all about her. True, true. Then she's got her dropping her G's trying to, trying to create narratives.
Starting point is 01:16:32 She's got a little of the, what's her name, Haley Stevens in her, just a, just a tad. Then she goes, of who, narratives about who I am and what I'm about. Actually, none of us gives two shits about that whatsoever. We just saw that you didn't have your players back and thought it was terrible. Like, no one really cares who you are. or what you're about, actually. Okay, I did not see the play in real time. This is her defense for why she didn't have Sophie's back. Perhaps you shouldn't have commented on it then.
Starting point is 01:17:01 Perhaps you should have said, I didn't see it. And therefore, I will reserve judgment on what nay was trying to do, trying. And what she wasn't till, you know, you've seen it. Because that would be the responsible thing to do. I take personally any suggestion that I don't have my players back. We don't care about you. No one cares if you're offended or what you're taking personally. Man, this is a Wendy's.
Starting point is 01:17:28 They're fucking playing. There, exactly. Fucking playing. Okay, tough guy. All right, we got it. And it's a shame. We can't talk about that. Now, why is it that we're not just talking about the playing, Emily?
Starting point is 01:17:42 Because you try to refresh my memory if you could. You know, I think it is the just abject violence being committed against the couple of the white players. The war. This actually is what drives me easier of the WMBA thing than anything else, is they're doing the classic move of when someone punches you and you punch back and the ref throws the flag at the person who punched back. That's what they're doing.
Starting point is 01:18:08 They started this bullshit. Caitlin Clark was popular because she was shooting wild three-pointer. She was making three-point records in her rookie year over and over again. She was popular because she was making the game more exciting. They're the ones that racialized it. They're the ones that put boys and girls sports. Everyone else is just responding. Right.
Starting point is 01:18:26 Exactly right. And it's like your player. So I'm sorry, but it was a player in your league who tweeted out white privilege. I'm pretty sure we're allowed to comment on that. You then defended that player who tried to break your player's neck from the look of it. So we have thoughts. Are we not allowed to have thoughts? Stephanie? Is that the kind of playing, fucking plan, that we're not allowed to comment on?
Starting point is 01:18:54 This gal's not ready for prime time. That's what's clear. And the best was just the icing on the cake. Like, we will leave with love and grace and integrity. Hate and fear mongering will not win. When they go low, we go high, fuck off. There's an amazing. There's an amazing episode of the office where they're coaching Dwight to give a speech at like a paper contributing convention and they show him like fascist speeches and he's up there giving this really boring speech and he's like pounding the podium and it's really contrived. That's exactly what she just did. The table pound. It was like, what are you trying to audition for like a movie? That's hysterical. That's a very good idea. I, you know, I've never watched the office. What? I know. Don't admit that in public. You'd like it. You got to start from a second one. I know. I need to.
Starting point is 01:19:48 there are so many cultural references to it that I've seen clips of course but like I've never seen the whole series and it's on my bucket list okay last but not least we have got to talk about mckenna okay there is big news in the case stand by hold on a second uh I don't want to add a bit where is it here it is right is this no al so where did it come under producers here okay yeah I just don't want to screw it up uh McKenna west the surrogate who has been pregnant with baby Gabriel and in a fight with his birth parents, his biological parents over whether he could be aborted, which she refused to do, and whether he would be entitled to life-saving care upon birth, his due date September 2nd, has just given birth.
Starting point is 01:20:39 Gabriel is here. He was born three weeks early in a Texas hospital. This happened just as we were on the air last hour. according to McKenna's lawyer, Lincoln Wilson, who was on the program last Thursday, reading you the news. McKenna gave birth today in Texas. She was not able to hold or see the baby
Starting point is 01:20:58 due to the temporary restraining order the Texas court entered yesterday. It is believed that the biological parents are present and that due to another order of the Texas court, baby Gabriel will soon be receiving the life-saving surgery that McKenna has fought so hard for. He also shares that baby Gabriel would not Need the surgery within an hour, more like within a few days.
Starting point is 01:21:20 But what he definitely did need was to get on medication that stabilizes him and keeps his heart open to allow the surgery to take place. Thankfully, yesterday's order ensures that he will get that care and is getting that care. He also now has his own guardian appointed to look out for his interests, a guardian ad litem, which is big. That person's job is to look out for not the birth mother, not the biological parents, but Gabriel, only and we'll fight only for the baby. Thank God. So we don't know whether the biological parents are there because she went three weeks early and it's possible they weren't there. But it's very sad that McKenna wasn't able to hold the baby. It's very sad for the baby that he wasn't able to be on his mother's chest and have that skin-to-skin contact. It's extremely comforting for babies,
Starting point is 01:22:12 for newborns. That seems cruel to me. It seems cruel to the baby. and I wonder what the story is with these biological parents, Emily. That is amazing that the order was yesterday and she went into labor three weeks early and had the, I mean, thank God, thank God truly that she went to Texas. The order came down yesterday. Yes. We pray for the doctors that are working on the little baby because that can't be easy either. I know.
Starting point is 01:22:41 No, it's so true. Thank God. She hooked up with Alliance Defending Freedom. I'm telling you if you want, if you're looking at. for somebody to donate to, Alliance Defending Freedom. 100%. Honestly, they do the Lord's work. Like, literally, they're doing the Lord's work there.
Starting point is 01:22:55 And this is one of their cases, and this is this guy used to be with ADF, and he is representing her. And I'm sure he told her, you need to leave Alaska and get down to Texas, where the law is much better for the unborn. And she did, and she did it soon. She did it early, you know, because babies do come early. They come three weeks early all the time. And lo and behold, she was here Thursday.
Starting point is 01:23:19 And look what happens within, you know, less than a week. That's a miracle. She gave birth. She, thanks to her, thanks to McKenna, that baby had his legal rights represented and protected by the Texas courts. And to his credit, Ken Paxton, the current AG of Texas stepped in and argued on behalf of McKenna as well, which I'm sure made a difference. And good for him because it's one thing to say you're pro life. And it's quite another to actually get in there and start swinging when it's. matters when it's just one life, you know, like that's, that's one thing about Christians,
Starting point is 01:23:51 about most pro-life Republicans and pro-life Democrats, too, for that matter, is just one life. They will fight for. Each one matters so much. What a beautiful thing to stand for, you know, and now this birth mother, McKenna, the surrogate mom, no matter what happens, will always be able to look at this child and say, I fought for you. I, I, I, I, I, saved you. She has saved him thus far. And let's just hope and pray that he's able to be saved now that he's here. And it's forcing so many important legal questions, which you've covered exceptionally well, that because of how quickly surrogacy technology evolved, I think a lot of people didn't necessarily even think. Like, there was just an episode actually of keeping up with the
Starting point is 01:24:37 Kardashians where this came up where Chloe had twins and in a surrogate. And they were wondering, well, could the surrogate if they don't want to have twins abort? And they clearly just hadn't really thought that through that these were their babies and another human being. And there would be legal repercussions. And so cases like these do force us to confront the legal, philosophical, deep questions, and it's about time we do. It's past time that we do.
Starting point is 01:25:04 I'm sorry. You may be the biological parents, but you bring a third person into the relationship of giving birth to your child. and that person's going to have strong opinions on something like abortion, no matter what she's signed. That's just the truth. If you don't want to have to deal with those issues, have your own baby or adopt. But if you want to do it this way with a surrogate, that other person's going to have a say. That's really what this case showed us. You can't force her to get an abortion. You can't. They tried. It failed. You, you can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You can't. You
Starting point is 01:25:43 can't. She actually does have a say by God, by right, you know, and she saved this baby's life. And if he's able to be saved and to have a thriving childhood, I pray God, that's the case. He will have her to thank for it. And, you know, I just wonder, Emily, like, what if the parents, the birth parents, they get him the life-saving care because now there's a national spotlight on them and there's a guardian, I'd light him insisting on it. Do they raise this child now? Do they look at this child and say, we didn't want you?
Starting point is 01:26:19 As soon as we found out there was something wrong with you, we tried to have you killed. We went to court to insist on our right to be able to do it, but we lost. And then you came into the world and we figured, uh, he's here. And this is my own opinion. This is my own judgment of how,
Starting point is 01:26:36 how their role in this is unfolded. But what do they, how do they handle that? It's rare that I'm looking at a glass as being half full as opposed to half empty, but there may be a real glass hole, half full scenario here where they have a living, breathing baby that was born of them and see the error of their ways and are able to make a cause out of it and, you know, publicly talk about how they got this wrong and how they're very grateful for this beautiful living baby made in God's image. And they can take that message to the public. and pray that's what happens given their conduct so far i doubt that's what's going to happen but obviously
Starting point is 01:27:14 having a living breathing baby that you can hold changes you and that could be enormously persuasive it really could be and maybe that'll be the case and they will have they will be amazing surrogates for this message that many people need to hear maybe i shouldn't be optimistic about that but there's a real opportunity if that's what happens for this little baby to change hearts Yeah, he's going to have to change his heart in order to live. And he may be changing a lot of other hearts along the way with his journey and his story. We hope of survival and wellness. God bless McKenna.
Starting point is 01:27:52 I'm sure she's going through it. This has got to be very emotional for her because she's saved him. And yet she can't hold him. She can't help him. She can't comfort him. And we don't know what's happening with the birth parents. We will find out and we will bring you the update tomorrow. Thanks for everything you do for us here at the MK Media Company and on the air, both at
Starting point is 01:28:17 Sirius XM and otherwise. We love you so much. You're the best. Lots of love, Megan. Thank you. We're back tomorrow with Maureen Callahan. We'll see you all there. Thanks for listening to The Megan Kelly Show. No BS, no agenda, and no fear.
