Good morning, everyone. I'm Megan Kelly. It's Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025. And this is your AM Update. Sanctuary cities are now our priority. We're going to flood the zone. Borders are Tom Homan and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem putting New York City Mayor Eric Adams on notice after an illegal immigrant allegedly shoots an off-duty customs and border protection officer in the face. Fuck him and everybody around him. Oh, not to be fucking nice. Hunter Biden shreds the Democrat party in a fiery, foul-mouthed, and bizarre new interview. Trump administration officials putting New York City Mayor Eric Adams on notice following an attack against an off-duty Customs and Border Protection

officer by an illegal immigrant. On Saturday evening, the illegal allegedly shooting the off-duty officer in the face during a robbery in a park along the Hudson River. The 42-year-old officer and a friend reportedly sitting alongside the riverbank when two suspects allegedly approached on a moped. One attacker approaching the pair with a gun. The officer said to have returned fire in self-defense, but not before sustaining a gunshot to the cheek and to the arm.

The suspects fleeing the scene on the moped. The officer now in the hospital in stable condition and both suspects now in custody. Secretary Noem describing the long criminal history of the alleged shooter. One of the suspected attackers, the one that was injured, his name is Miguel Francisco Mora Nunes, a Dominican national that was entering into this country illegally back in 2023. He was then released back into this country by the Biden administration. Miguel Francisco Moro Nunes is and has a rap sheet that is a mile long. He was arrested. He was charged with grand larceny

and also assault. The state of Massachusetts has an active warrant out for him for armed robbery with a firearm. He also has many other charges against him, such as kidnapping and witness intimidation. There's absolutely zero reason that someone who has scum of the earth like this should be running loose on the streets of New York City. He was arrested four different times in New York City and because of the mayor's policies and sanctuary city policies was released back to do harm to people and to individuals living in this city. The alleged accomplice, also an illegal from the Dominican Republic, entering the country

in 2022 under the Biden administration and ordered for final removal in 2023. According to Secretary Noem, he also has a criminal record in New York City, including arrests for reckless endangerment and larceny. At the beginning of the second Trump administration, Mayor Adams promising to deepen cooperation with ICE despite the city's sanctuary status. But the crux of Adams' promise, reopening an ICE office at Rikers Island, was blocked by a state judge in June.

NYPD cooperation with ICE is limited now to criminal matters. The police in the city prevented by city law from cooperating with federal officials on non-criminal immigration matters. Secretary Noem calling out Mayor Adams. We have spoken with him about the policies before and asked him to change those policies. There's times that the NYPD, and I believe that's still in place, that if one of our officers is in jeopardy, they're still backing us up on that, but not doing operations with us, which does happen in many other cities and other jurisdictions. We wish we had that kind of partnership with Mayor Adams, and I know you guys have got a leadership election in this country or in this city that's going to be happening soon. Boy, start looking at the candidates

today and see which one is going to start making the city safer because you've got a mayor today that could have done better and could have done better. And maybe he'd have more support today if he had, if he had put his people first. The secretary also slamming other city leaders who refuse full ICE cooperation. We look at Mayor Wu in Boston

and what has happened there under her watch. What's happened in LA with the riots and the violence and the protests that have gone on because of Mayor Bass and what she has perpetuated. When you look at Mayor Johnson in Chicago and how devastating it is to live in that city and some of those poorest communities, how they suffer every single day with the violence that's in front of them, just because these individuals are protecting criminals. They're protecting criminals who go out and murder, rape, rob. They perpetuate violence on our children.

They traffic them and drugs and damage this country every single day under the protection of sanctuary city and governors who put in place these policies that allow them to perpetuate these crimes with no consequences. A visibly angry border czar, Tom Homan, promising the feds will send more resources to New York and other sanctuary cities. Sanctuary cities are now our priority. We're going to flood the zone. You don't want to let us in the jail to arrest a bad guy in the safety and security of a jail. You want to release them into the street to arrest a bad guy in the safety and security of a jail. You want to release him into the street, which makes it unsafe for the community, makes it

unsafe for the officer, makes it unsafe for the inmate. Can anything happen on a street arrest? So what we're going to do, we want more agents in New York City to look for that bad guy. So sanctuary cities get exactly what they don't want, more agents in the community and more agents in the work site. Mayor Adams running for reelection as an independent at a Monday press conference responding to Secretary Noem saying, don't blame him. I have nothing to do with the rules that are put in place.

I just carry out the rules. Rules are if you're in the city of New York, you have a right to services. Go to the hospital, educate your children. You have a right to get. You go to the hospital, educate your children. You have a right to get police services if need be. When you do an analysis of this case, we arrest people. The courts determine if they're going to stay in jail or not. This person has been part of a revolving door, criminal justice system, allowed to get back onto the streets.

So I am extremely angry that we have a custom border patrol officer that is in the hospital because a person that should have not been on our street was on our street. Republican candidate Curtis Lewa, and the only candidate who opposes sanctuary cities, posting on X, quote, a violent illegal alien may have pulled the trigger, but it was Eric Adams's reckless policies that created the conditions for it to happen. I think they're opening up an investigation to cocaine that was found in a cubby outside the west wing of the White House. Oh, so they blame, they just got to blame you automatically.

Yeah. I mean, they're literally going to do an FBI, another congressional investigation because they've convinced themselves that it had to be May, that there was a little tiny. And my, it's my point of even bringing it up is that no. I have been clean and sober since June of 2019, and I have not touched a drop of alcohol or a drug, and I'm incredibly, incredibly proud of that. And why would you bring cocaine to the White House?

He seems to be suggesting he's sober for this interview too, which is remarkable. President Trump on Sunday intensifying calls to restore the former mascots of two professional sports teams. The Washington commander's football team,

formerly the Redskins, and the Cleveland Guardians baseball team, formally the Indians. Washington changing the name in July 2020 at the height of the BLM protests among heavy corporate pressure and calls from some Native American groups. Cleveland officially switching the name the following year after removing the Chief Wahoo logo, portraying a red-faced man with a feather in his hair from team uniforms in 2019.

At the time, some Native American groups welcoming the moves as long overdue steps toward cultural sensitivity and respect, while another supported the continued use of the name Redskins and the quote respectful use of Native American names and imagery in sports, education and public life. On Sunday, President Trump posting to Truth Social quote, the Washington whatevers should immediately change their name back to the Washington Redskins football team. There is a big clamoring for this. Likewise, the Cleveland Indians, one of the six original baseball teams with a storied

past. Our great Indian people in massive numbers want this to happen. Their heritage and prestige is systematically being taken away from them. The president following up on that post hours later, quote, My statement on the Washington Redskins has totally blown up, but only in a very positive way. I may put a restriction on them that if they don't change their name back to the original Washington Redskins and get rid of the ridiculous moniker Washington Commanders, I won't make

a deal for them to build a stadium in Washington. The team would be much more valuable and the deal would be more exciting for everyone. Cleveland should do the same with the Cleveland Indians. Indians are being treated very unfairly. Make Indians great again. Mygah." The Washington commander is currently negotiating a deal to relocate their home stadium back to Washington, D.C. from Maryland, where they have now played since 1997.

The Washington commanders have yet to respond to the renewed calls. However, in the past, owner Josh Harris has said the rebrand is here to stay. Cleveland Guardians president Chris Antonetti responding, quote, I understand there are very different perspectives on the decision we made a few years ago, but it's a decision we made and we've gotten the opportunity to build the brand as the Guardians over the last four years. And we're excited about the future that's in front of us.

Okay. Some Democrats testing the waters for a potential 2028 presidential run already. California Governor Gavin Newsom swinging through South Carolina earlier this month, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visiting Iowa, and former Chicago mayor and longtime Democrat operative Rahm Emanuel

making an appearance on the Megyn Kelly show yesterday. In the interview, he broke with his party on Trump's border policies, saying he would not change them if elected president, though he disagreed with Trump's deportation policies, and also took a bold stance on the issue of gender. Sort of. Well, at least when compared to others in his party. So do you believe boys should be able to play in girl sports? No.

Should we be putting men in female prisons? Men claiming they're women? No. And all right, here's my last one for you. Can a man become a woman? Can a man become a woman? Uh, not, no. He then joked he'd have to go into the witness protection program over that answer.
