We are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry to establish the motivation for this attack. A stunning reversal in the murder of former British politician and Whitacom last week. Was the conservative stalwart killed in an act of terrorism? Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reportedly detained by the Iranian regime after investigators uncovered an alleged Israeli effort to return him to power.

An ICE agent shooting and killing a man during an immigration enforcement operation in Biddeford, Maine yesterday morning. The confrontation occurring at 7.19 a.m. at a.m. at a busy intersection,

roughly 15 miles south of Portland. Federal agents reportedly attempting to execute a warrant connected to a final order of removal. Independent Senator Angus King's office, later revealing DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen told the senator, the man who was killed was not the target of that warrant. Senator King, sharing the secretary's account of the shooting, had a press conference yesterday. He was in a vehicle, pulled out in the vehicle, and the term the secretary used was weaponized the vehicle. He was shot by an ICE agent. We want a full, transparent, and open investigation of this matter. Now, one of the problems is apparently, and again, everything I'm saying is what I know now, different facts may come out, but apparently there are no cameras involved,

body cameras were not on the agents, and so we have no video evidence of what occurred in this case. One eyewitness appearing to corroborate that account yesterday in an interview with local outlet, the Portland Press Herald. So I looked and I was watching, and the ICE agent was yelling and drew his weapon, and he kept yelling and yelling and warning the person driving, which is when the car was put into drive, and was trying to hit the ice officer, and he fired, I would say, probably four shots at him. And then by that time, I was also through, you know, the intersection.

So I just heard the popping. But I did see him draw his gun at the windshield. So then the car, you could see the car in the back, like rolling down the street afterwards. Authorities have not formally released the victim's identity, but neighbors and immigration advocacy groups identifying him as Joanne Sebastian Guerrero. a 26-year-old Colombian man with a wife and a young daughter, according to the Portland Press Herald. Guerrero reportedly had authorization to work in the U.S. and had been issued a social security number, according to the Maine Immigrants Rights Coalition. The ICE agent involved, now placed on

administrative leave under standard protocol. Secretary Mullen reportedly informing Senator Susan Collins, Republican from Maine, that the Boston office of the DHS Inspector General has taken over the investigation, cooperation with the FBI. The shooting marks the second fatal encounter involving federal immigration agents in less than one week. Agents in Houston killing Mexican national Lorenzo Salgado Arajo last week, after authorities alleged he also drove toward officers during an enforcement operation. Arajo, like Guerrero, was not the original target officers were pursuing. British counterterrorism police taking control of the investigation into the murder of former government minister Anne Whittacom, a dramatic escalation after local police first insisted they had found no evidence of terrorism or political motivation.

The 78-year-old conservative found dead Thursday inside her home in rural southwest England, about four hours west of London, after suffering what police described as serious injuries. Whitacom, a major figure in British right-wing politics, serving more than two, 20 years in Parliament before building a second career as a television personality, appearing on shows like Celebrity Big Brother. She later joined Reform U.K. Nigel Farage's right-leaning populist party focused heavily on reducing immigration and tightening Britain's borders.

Investigators believe Whitacom was attacked around 1230 Wednesday afternoon, nearly 24 hours before her body was discovered. Whitacom last responding to a WhatsApp message from a TV producer, at 12.19 p.m. But failing to join a Zoom link for an interview about a half an hour later. A household employee finding her body at about 1140 the next morning,

according to the Guardian. Police initially arresting a 26-year-old man near her home on Friday, then releasing him. Police arresting a second suspect Saturday night, more than 250 miles away in South Yorkshire, according to Reuters. The suspect only identified by police,

as a 28-year-old white British man, initially detained on suspicion of murder. Local police publicly dismissing suggestions Whitacom had been targeted because of her politics. Devin and Cornwall Police Department's assistant chief constable Matt Longman speaking at a news conference on Sunday. At this point, there is no information to suggest that this is a terrorism-related incident. And at this point, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this murder.

We retain primacy of this investigation, and detectives remain open-minded about the potential motive. At this stage, there is nothing to suggest that was politically motivated. The investigation taking a sharp turn, though, yesterday with authorities announcing new evidence had prompted Britain's National Counter-Terrorism Unit to take the lead. The 28-year-old suspect remaining in custody, now being held on suspicion of preparing, carrying out, or encouraging an act of terrorism. Britain's top domestic security official, Shabana Mahmood, updating lawmakers yesterday. On Wednesday, Anne Whitakum was murdered in her home. The circumstances of her death are extremely distressing. Counterterrorism policing have now taken the lead in the investigation. As Lawrence Taylor, the head of National Counterterrorism policing has said, and I quote,

We now have new information and evidence that means counter-terrorism policing is leading the investigation. We are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry to establish the motivation for this attack. The police now have a suspect in custody, a 28-year-old white British man. And I can confirm to the House that this man was not known to prevent. Prevent is a government program aimed at identifying people considered vulnerable to radicalization. The Sun obtaining surveillance video appearing to show the suspect leaving his home shortly before 8 on Wednesday morning, carrying a long object as he gets into a red car. The footage recorded roughly four and a half hours before Whitacom is believed to have been attacked,

with the suspect facing a drive of about four hours to reach Whitacom's home. Mukmoud now ordering a review of security protections for current and former politicians while offering Reform UK leader Nigel Farage a meeting with security officials. We spoke with British journalist Dan Wooden, host of outspoken and close friend of Anne Whitacom. He tells us local police badly damaged public trust by initially dismissing a political motive. Well, it's an absolutely shocking situation because for days and days, the UK police said that there was no political motivation for the death of Anne Whitigel. who was a friend of mine,

that we shouldn't believe that it was a terror attack, and then today they were forced into quite a mortifying new turn, admitting that it is now a terror investigation. And that is something that people like me believe was the case for days, that this was a premeditated assassination

of a high profile figure on the right in the United Kingdom. And so the police have lost, a lot of trust with this investigation, especially amongst friends and political supporters of Anne. We asked Wooden why he believes local police were so adamant that there was no political motivation at first. It always seems like the British police are now more concerned

about so-called community cohesion than actually reporting the truth. Because none of those ever made sense. Like Anne lived in Devon, this suspect was hundreds of miles away in South Yorkshire. So he drove half the length of the country with a wooden pole, drove up to the house of this high profile, legendary right-wing political figure in the UK,

brutally killed her by hitting her over the head, I believe, multiple times. And we're told that that had no political motivation. it has been an absolutely appalling example of the police carrying more about how people might react to the truth than actually trying to uncover the truth. Wooden says the public still has no clear answers about who carried out the attack,

why Whittacom was targeted, or whether anyone else remains in danger. They need to answer what on earth happened in all of that missing time. For 48 hours, you'd be going after the wrong person. how can we trust that you now have got the right person? And if this is a terrorism investigation, is there anyone else involved? What was motivating the ideology?

Is there anyone else at risk? You'll remember Anne Wittaker was the immigration spokesperson for the leading party in the polls here in the United Kingdom, Reform, UK, which is led by Nigel Farage. Nigel Farage has been arguing for weeks that his security is under threat, and the security of his MPs are under threat. So there are a huge questions to answer. We've still know nothing about the motivation of this guy. We've been told, oh, it's the usual thing.

He has learning difficulties. He has mental health issues. Well, I've been told that he was indulging in reading Russian communist literature at certain times. So are you really telling me that's a guy with learning difficulty? The reality is the truth is being hidden. Wouldn't sharing what he hopes will define Whitcomb's legacy. I want them to remember I'm with him as a day. a three-speech champion, a woman who absolutely stood up for Christianity.

That was something that was very untrendy during the time that she was in politics, but she was resolutely a proud Catholic woman. But I also want to remember her as someone who was so kind. When I was canceled from GVU, so remember she was a star of GV News, she spoke up for me because that's the type of woman she was. She absolutely believed in due process. She absolutely believed in people being treated fairly in the law. She absolutely believed in free speech.

And I want people to remember Anne Whitakum as one of the most towering political figures of modern Britain. She was also a great entertainer, but fundamentally she was someone who I think had a huge, huge political impact. There are very few political figures in the United Kingdom outside of maybe Margaret Thatcher and Nigel Farage, who, and Boris Johnson, who have been as famous as her over the past 50 years. New reporting on a shocking plot to return former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to power. The New York Times reporting Israel spent years on the failed plan, cultivating the former hardline leader as a possible replacement for the Iranian regime, despite Ahmadinejad's long history of threatening Israel and denouncing the U.S. American officials reportedly briefed on the plan, which called for installing Ahmadinejad after Israeli and American strikes removed Iran's top leadership at the start of the war earlier this year. Amidinjad, serving as Iran's president from 2005 to 2013,

becoming one of the most recognizable faces of the country's hardline government. He repeatedly threatened Israel, denied the Holocaust, and accelerated Iran's uranium enrichment program. His government also violently crushed the nationwide uprising that followed his disputed re-election in 2009, while Iran imprisoned and executed political opponents. After leaving office, Ahmadinejad gradually beginning to reinvent himself, softening his anti-Israel rhetoric, and accusing Iranian leadership of widespread corruption. Amadinajad also appearing to westernize his image, trading his signature oversized windbreaker for tailored suits, grooming his beard and studying English. The makeover coinciding with a growing rupture between Ahmadinejad and Iran's ruling establishment.

His relationship with the government reportedly remaining deeply complicated, with Iranian authorities repeatedly blocking him from running for president, while still allowing him to serve on a powerful counsel advising the supreme leader. Israeli intelligence reportedly viewing that feud as an opening, believing Ahmadinejad's resentment toward Iranian leaders, continued support among some working-class voters, and determination to reclaim power could make him quite useful. People close to Ahmadinejad also reportedly claiming

he had privately recast himself as a potential reformer, comparing his envisioned role to that of former Russian president Boris Yeltsin. The former Iranian leader allegedly arguing he could dismantle the existing system from within without allowing the country to descend into chaos. An associate telling the Times, Ahmadinejad was even prepared to recognize Israel and normalize relations under President Trump's Abraham Accords if he returned to power. Wow. The Times reporting Israeli intelligence began working with,

Ahmadinejad during a series of foreign trips, including secret meetings in Hungary with senior Mossad officials. Massad later informing the CIA it had established contact with a former Iranian leader. The operation to install Ahmadinejad coming to a head on February 28th during the opening attacks of the U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran, an Israeli airstrike hitting Ahmadinejad's compound in Tehran, where he lived under surveillance, targeting the building housing his security. detail, along with his armored vehicle. Four senior Iranian officials telling the times that a black vehicle arrived amid the chaos, carrying Ahmadinejad away from the scene at a high speed. American and Iranian officials familiar with the operation, telling the times the driver was

working for Israel's Mossad and transported Ahmadinejad to a secret safe house inside Iran. The apparent rescue intended to free the former president from government surveillance, allowing him to help launch an internal effort to overthrow the Islamic Republic. The plan, however, quickly collapsing. People briefed on the operation telling the Times, Ahmadinejad was angered by the frantic extraction and increasingly disillusioned with Israel's plan to place him back in power, eventually leaving the Israeli safe house under circumstances that remain unclear.

Ahmadinejad then disappearing from public view for more than four months. the 69-year-old briefly resurfacing earlier this month, appearing at the funeral procession for former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Kamene. Video showing Ahmadinejad wearing a heavy jacket despite temperatures around 90 degrees, standing silently with his head lowered and surrounded by apparent security officers. Four senior Iranian officials telling the times, Ahmadinejad is in the custody of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' intelligence division, and being held under house arrest after investigators uncovered much of his alleged contact with Israel.

Neither Tehran nor Israel publicly confirming the report. The Yellowstone National Park Visitor launched into the air by a huge charging bison in a shocking video that went viral over the weekend, now identified as 65-year-old grandfather Carl Isam McDaniel of Washington State. McDaniel breaking multiple bones when the roughly 2,000-pound bull bison attacked him Friday evening in Wyoming, tossing him an estimated eight feet into the air. CNN reporting McDaniel broke his femur, the strongest bone in the body, in four places near his hip, but is already able to stand following his Sunday surgery. He is expected to recover from the injuries.

The pair pulling out their phones, observing from what they clearly thought was a safe distance, when the bison suddenly heaves itself back onto its hooves and charges. McDaniel and his grandson retreat behind a thicket of trees as the animal barrels after them dirt flying in his wake. With startling a daze for an animal of its size, the bison cuts into the trees and briefly disappears from view. McDaniel then bursts from the woods with the bison close behind. The bison chases McDaniel in a tight

circle around some smaller trees before finally catching him, using his boulder-sized head to scoop the 65-year-old into the air by the seat of his pants. McDaniel goes skyward in a full aerial cartwheel before crashing back down to earth. The bison standing, over him, pumping his head aggressively up and down. McLeod telling the New York Times, that was the moment when he decided to intervene. Quote, I put my camera down and I ran at the bison pumping my arms up and down, yelling at the top of my lungs, and jumping up, trying to look big and distracting. Other visitors quickly joining McLeod's effort, shouting and making themselves appear larger until the bison finally backed away. McLeod speaking with NBC News after the attack.

It was like watching a bulldozer move out at 45 miles an hour. And when you approach this man, how is he? He was in a lot of pain. He was conscious, I think, the entire time. It sounds like he has a broken leg in several places. The doctor said that he probably could, would recover, but it's going to be a long recovery. McDaniel posting a message to Facebook, quote, Thank you, everyone.

I am okay with a thumbs up emoji. photographer McLeod suggesting the bull's heightened aggression may have been connected to the approaching mating season when male bison experience a surge in testosterone. Yellowstone regulations require visitors to remain at least 75 feet from bison and other large animals, with park officials urging even greater caution during the summer mating season. The National Park Service warning on its website, quote,

Bison may appear tranquil, but these large animals have injured more people in Yellowstone than any other animal. Park officials reminding visitors that Yellowstone's wildlife remains dangerous, no matter how calm an animal may seem, and that the safest and often best view is from inside a vehicle.
