Good morning, everyone. I'm Emily Jashinsky, host of After Party and the Megan Kelly wrap-up show on SiriusXM Channel 111. It's Friday, September 25th, 2026, and this is your AM update.
President Xi and I have made tremendous strides on the issues facing our two countries.
President Trump welcoming China's president Xi Jinping to the White House for the first time in more than a decade, with a military flyover, a panda announcement, and a state dinner packed with tech titans.
I spoke with the CEO of Open Air.
Sam Altman to express Australia's extreme concern about this incident.
An AI agent sent to look up health care statistics, winding up inside an Australian government
website it wasn't supposed to access.
A judge ordering President Trump to let three banned news outlets back into the White House.
In disgraced Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes, reportedly preparing to leave her Texas
prison with a new home already picked out for her next chapter behind bars.
All that more coming up in.
just a moment on your AM update.
Our sponsor, the Electronic Payments Coalition, says Washington politicians are always getting in
your wallet and that now they're messing with your credit card.
They say your credit card and the security it offers are under attack
and that Senators Dick Durbin and Roger Marshall want to change the nation's payment
system to benefit corporate megastores like Walmart and Target at the expense of everyday
Americans.
Credit cards can keep your payments secure and provide rewards that families use to help
make everyday purchases more affordable.
The Electronic Payments Coalition says the DERNs,
Urban Marshall mandates would let corporate megastores cut corners on credit card processing,
routing transactions over cheaper, untested networks, with weaker security and fewer protections.

China's president Xi Jinping and his wife spending their first full day at the White House in more than a decade,
greeted yesterday morning by President Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and a military band.
The two couples standing together on a red carpet before heading inside, where Mr. Trump and Xi delivered opening remarks.
The president pointing to progress on trade since his visit to Beijing in May, then turning to the issue still on the table.
Here, President Trump.
Working together, President G and I have made tremendous strides on the issues facing our two countries.
During my last visit, last May, we created the Board of Trade, and through that, it's a brand new mechanism.
and was something that's been unbelievably successful.
Our teams have been working to encourage a more balanced trading relationship,
including the new market access for American farmers and ranchers.
During this visit, we will also discuss pressing issues concerning security, technology,
and superintelligence, SI.
The decisions we make in these areas today can promote peace and prosperity
for decades and decades.
to come. President Xi speaking through a translator.
Both China and the United States are leading nations in artificial intelligence. We have both the
capability and responsibility to develop and manage AI for good and ensure that the development
of AI is always under human control and serves the well-being of the people. On counter-narcotics
and law enforcement, the Chinese side is willing to strengthen cooperation.
cooperation with the United States.
Our two sides may also increase direct flights to facilitate two-way travel and trade.
We should coexist in peace.
As I have said many times, China and the United States as two major countries stand to gain from cooperation and will both lose in confrontation.
She urging the two countries to avoid a collision between a rising power and an established one.
that appeal coming amid disputes over trade, technology, and Taiwan.
One announcement about some panda diplomacy, drawing a smile from Mr. Trump.
The giant panda has been an envoy of friendship between the Chinese and Americans.
Here, I have a piece of good news.
In a few days, two pandas, Pingping and Fu Shuan, will come to their new home in Zoo, Atlanta,
and meet with the American people.
From there, the leaders watching a military review in the Rose Garden,
capped by a B-2 bomber and four fighter jets flying over the White House.
Then came a private Oval Office meeting.
The White House, letting photographers in briefly, while keeping reporters outside.
Afterwards, the president, walking she passed his ballroom construction and new granite halapad.
Mr. Trump calling their meeting, quote, very good, and telling reporters his guest, quote,
loves good granite.
The friendly image is leaving one of the summit's most difficult question.
unresolved. According to Reuters, a Chinese readout of the meeting says she pressed the U.S.
to oppose Taiwanese independence. Last night's state dinner bringing the two couples back to the White
House with top American tech executives on the guest list. The visit concluding today with tea
at the White House and a trip to the National Archives. An open AI agent reportedly sent to
gather public health care statistics, instead pulling off what researchers are calling the first
known AI hack of a government website. The agent encountering repeated blocks on an Australian
Medicare portal, then finding another way in and reaching files it was never supposed to see.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese explaining on Wednesday what officials know so far.
The Medicare Statistics Reporting Portal is a public-facing statistics portal that contains
non-sensitive Medicare information relating to data and statistics.
such as spending. No personal information is believed to have been accessed at this stage,
but investigations are ongoing. Evidence currently available is there is no broader compromise
to the Services Australia Network. Nonetheless, this situation is obviously unacceptable.
And today I spoke with the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, to express Australia's extreme concern
about this incident.
And I also expressed my disappointment
that it took the company way too long
to inform the government
what had occurred
and the nature of the way
that that notification occurred as well
was unacceptable.
The assignment beginning June 18th
when an Open AI research team
used an internal model to look up public figures
on Australian medicine spending.
Albanesey describing how the rogue agent,
quote, didn't accept no for an answer,
after the site blocked it, ultimately reaching public and non-public files.
Services Australia saying the agent also wrote files to an internal server,
leaving investigators to determine exactly what it did there.
OpenAI telling ABC News it discovered the activity during an internal review in August.
The company acknowledging its models took actions it had not intended,
while saying its review found no evidence of access to patient records.
According to OpenAI, the material reached included combined health statistics
and internal file names.
Australian officials not receiving a warning until September 10th,
nearly three months after the incident.
OpenAI sending that notice to a General Services Australia email address
rather than directly alerting government cyber officials.
Albanese also naming three other government systems that may have been affected.
ABC News reporting defense minister Richard Marles
later described the agents' interactions with those sites
as normal access to public information.
The defense minister now ordering a task force to review Australia's response to the breach,
including whether to refer the case to federal police and whether the country's AI laws need to change.
Coming up, three news outlets winning their way back into the White House in court.
And disgraced Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes, reportedly getting a date to leave prison for a Texas halfway house years before her sentence is over.
Everyone's talking about weight loss injections because the results can be so dramatic.
They work by lowering blood sugar and reducing appetite.
But what if you're looking to lose weight but are not interested in painful weekly injections,
especially when you hear about some of those intense side effects?
That's why doctors created a weight loss supplement called Lean, and the results could be
remarkable.
Lean says the studied ingredients in their product have been shown to lower your blood sugar,
burn fat by converting it into energy, and to curb your appetite and cravings so you are not
as hungry.
But listen, lean is not for the casual dieter with only a few pounds to lose.
The doctors at Brickhouse Nutrition created lean for frustrated dieters with 10 or more pounds to lose.

President Trump's ban on CNN, MS now, and Politico at the
White House hitting a roadblock in court, followed by hours of confusion at the White House gates.
In an order issued early yesterday morning, Trump appointed U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly
directing the administration to immediately restore the outlet's press passes for 14 days.
Judge Kelly, finding the outlets are likely to succeed on their due process claim.
The Trump appointed judge also questioning the administration's national security explanation
for the ban. Judge Kelly pointing out that President Trump initially blamed the ban on what he
called, quote, fake news and finding little evidence that restoring the passes would put national
security at risk. MS now, legal affairs reporter Fallon Gallagher, explaining what comes next.
The judge here granted a TRO, a temporary restraining order, very narrowly on the due process grounds.
He said there is binding D.C. Circuit precedent that says you must give journalists due process
before you revoke your White House hard pass credentials. And that didn't happen here. And so he didn't
even have to touch the First Amendment arguments yet. There was, of course, the argument that this was
retaliation, and then also that it was viewpoint discrimination. And so he hasn't gotten into that yet,
but this is not the end of the road. This is a 14-day solution, which could be extended. He's already
setting an expedited briefing schedule for a preliminary injunction, which would be a longer-term
block here. And so he will likely have to tackle those First Amendment arguments, but at this point,
this is all about due process. The legal victory, reportedly turning into another few,
fight outside the White House yesterday morning, Politico reporting that a Secret Service agent told
one of its reporters he was not clear to enter and confiscated his press pass. CNN reporting that
correspondent Betsy Klein and a photojournalist were turned away, even as one CNN producer managed to
get inside. MS Now also reporting a journalist was denied entry, the three outlets rushing back to
court asking Judge Kelly to intervene ahead of President Xi Jinping's White House visit. Judge Kelly giving
the administration until 1230 to explain why journalists.
were still being turned away. White House Press Operations Director, Micah Stapparich,
telling the court her staff started restoring credentials at 7.10 a.m. and finished by 9.55.
Journalists from the outlets gaining entry around noon after the morning's repeated attempts and just ahead
of the judge's deadline. The outlets facing a Monday deadline to seek a larger block of the ban,
Kelly planning to schedule a hearing and rule quickly, but setting no hearing date yet.
Elizabeth Holmes reportedly moving from a federal prison camp to a Texas halfway house next year.
ABC News reporting a Justice Department notification schedules the Theranos founders transfer to the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valley on August 23, 27.
She has been held at the minimum security prison camp in Bryan, Texas, since May 20203.

former secretaries of state Henry Kissinger and George Schultz, along with retired Marine General James
Mattis, as investors valued the company at $9 billion. The wheels starting to come off in 2015
when a Wall Street Journal investigation found the company used conventional machines for most of its

She and former Theranos executive, Sunny Bolwani, later ordered to pay $452 million in restitution.
Her original sentence of 11 years and three months later reduced by one year under a change to
federal sentencing guidelines, with additional credit under the First Step Act.
halfway houses provide a supervised setting for people approaching the end of a prison sentence
while helping them prepare for life outside custody. ABC reporting Holmes's projected release date
from the halfway house is February 22nd, 2030. The Bureau of Prisons declining to confirm
her individual transfer plans. Holmes recently drawing fresh attention from the trailer for
you can see everything, a documentary filmed in part before she reported to prison. In the trailer,
filmmaker Nathan Fielder asking whether Holmes believes she did anything wrong,
then questioning her husband, Billy Evans, about their relationship.
You really feel you did nothing wrong?
I did not.
So where did things get lost?
Like, how are you where you are right now?
I wish I knew, you know?
I don't know.
I don't feel like I understand that.
I think this is the moment in time to capture this story before I'm gone.
I fell in love in that first conversation.
Before or after that she revealed she was the founder of Theranos?
Probably before.
I mean, weren't you worried she was sort of scamming you?
100%, but what did she have to gain for me?
Well, isn't your family rich?
That'll do it for your AM update.
