President Trump last night delivering a prime time address from the White House, providing an update on the progress of Operation Epic Fury now in its fifth week. In these past four weeks, Our armed forces have delivered swift, decisive, overwhelming victories on the battlefield.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Tonight, Iran's navy is gone. Their air forces in ruins. Their leaders, most of them, terrorist regime they led, are now dead. Their command and control of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is being decimated as we speak. Their ability to launch missiles and drones is dramatically curtailed, and their weapons, factories, and rocket launchers are being blown to pieces. Very few of them left. Never in the history of warfare has an enemy suffered such clear and devastating large-scale losses
Starting point is 00:02:53 in a matter of weeks. The address coming as a slate of recent polling shows most Americans are not on board with the war effort. New polling from the economist UGov, finding twice as many Americans oppose the, the war as those who support it. 28% of adults support compared to 59% who are opposed. In this poll, 54% of Republicans identifying as MAGA, 29% say they're not MAGA, 17% are unsure. Among Republicans self-identifying as non-Maga, just 33% support the war.
Starting point is 00:03:29 56% oppose. Those numbers flipping dramatically from just two weeks ago when 56% of non-Maga, of Republicans favored the war. 79% of MAGA Republicans still support the president. 8% oppose his war efforts. Among independents, just 19% are in favor of the war compared to 63% against. As thousands of U.S. troops have been moved into the region
Starting point is 00:03:54 over the last several weeks, questions mounting over whether the president is preparing to put boots on the ground, potentially pulling the U.S. further into another prolonged Middle East quagmire. In last night's address, the president stopping short of announcing any ground troop actions, but extending the war's timeline beyond the original four to five weeks, teasing what's about to happen over the next two to three weeks.
Starting point is 00:04:18 We are on track to complete all of America's military objectives shortly, very shortly. We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We're going to bring them back to the Stone Ages where they belong. In the meantime, discussions are ongoing. Regime change was not our goal. We never said regime change, but regime change has occurred because of all of their original leaders' death.
Starting point is 00:04:48 They're all dead. The new group is less radical and much more reasonable. Yet if during this period of time no deal is made, we have our eyes on key targets. If there is no deal, we are going to hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously. We have not hit their oil, even though that's the easiest target of all, because it would not give them even a small chance of survival or rebuilding. Just 14% of Americans are in favor of boots on the ground in
Starting point is 00:05:23 Iran, according to the economist UGov. A full-scale ground invasion gets half that number. Only 7% support that, according to a Reuters Ipsos poll. Despite the relentless attacks on Iranian military infrastructure, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard managing to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed to the vast majority of its usual traffic. Amid this shortage, the U.S. national gas average spiking above $4 per gallon this week, the highest since 2022. According to a new CNN poll, President Trump's approval rating on handling the economy down to a new low, now at 31%.
Starting point is 00:06:01 65% of Americans, the highest of Mr. Trump's presidency, now say the president's policies have made the economy worse. That's a higher percentage feeling that way than at any point under former President Biden. Mr. Trump addressing economic concerns last night. Many Americans have been concerned to see the recent rise in gasoline prices here at home. This short-term increase has been entirely the result of the Iranian regime launching deranged terror attacks against commercial oil tankers and neighboring countries that have nothing to do with the conflict. The United States has never been better prepared economically to confront this threat. You all know that we built the strongest economy and history.
Starting point is 00:06:45 We were a dead and crippled country after the last administration and made it the hottest country anywhere in the world by far with no inflation, record-setting investments coming into the United States, over $18 trillion, and the highest stock market ever, with 53 all-time record highs in just one year. It all positioned us to get rid of a cancer that has long simmered. It's known as the nuclear Iran. Remember, because of our drill-a-baby drill program, America has plenty of gas. We have so much gas. We're number one producer of oil and gas on the planet. The president saying the U.S. does not need Middle Eastern oil, touting a fruitful new relationship with Venezuelan leadership following the U.S. military's capture of its former leader, leading to increased oil production.
Starting point is 00:07:39 The president attempting at various points since the start of the operation to bring NATO allies into the effort, those efforts largely falling short. The president expressing public frustration with NATO allies, who are only obligated to help a fellow member when an armed attack has been launched on that member by a non-NATO country. Even suggesting Tuesday, he is considering leaving the alliance. Last night, the president urging countries that rely on the Strait of Hormuz to take a more active role in securing it. The countries of the world that do receive oil through the Hormone Strait must take care of that passage. They must cherish it. They must grab it and cherish it. They can do it easily. We will be helpful, but they should take the
Starting point is 00:08:24 lead in protecting the oil that they so desperately depend on. So to those countries that can't get fuel, many of which refuse to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, we had to do it ourselves. I have a suggestion, number one, buy oil from the United States of America. We have plenty. We have so much. And number two, build up some delayed courage. Should have done it before. Should have done it with us, as we asked. Go to the straight and just take it, protect to use it for yourselves. Iran has been essentially decimated. The hard part is done so it should be easy. We'll have more analysis later today on The MK Show. Coming up, a federal judge orders the Trump administration to reinstate legal status for thousands of migrants who entered the U.S.
Starting point is 00:09:15 through the Biden-era CBP-1 app. And NASA's Artemis II mission is officially underway. The crew now hours into a mission that could take them farther from Earth than any humans in history have traveled. Everybody's talking about weight loss injections because the results can be so dramatic. They work by lowering blood sugar and reducing appetite. But what if you're looking to lose weight, but you're not interested in painful weekly injections, especially when you hear about some of those intense side effects? That's why doctors created a weight loss supplement called lean. And the results could be remarkable. Lean says, the studied ingredients in their product have been shown to lower your blood sugar, burn fat by converting
Starting point is 00:10:04 it into energy, and curb your appetite and cravings so you are not as hungry. But listen, lean is not for the casual dieter with only a few pounds to lose. A federal judge on Tuesday ruling the Trump administration unlawfully stripped legal status from tens of thousands of migrants who entered the U.S. using the Biden-era CBP1 app. Obama appointed Judge Allison D. Burroughs of the federal district court in Massachusetts,
Starting point is 00:10:52 ordering the administration to reinstate the lawful parole status pending asylum hearing for migrants who had such status revoked through an April 2025 mass termination email. The order applying to those who used the app between May 2023 and January 2025 and who remain in the U.S. The CBP1 app created under the Biden administration was meant to manage what had become a full-blown surge at the southern border, with thousands of migrants arriving daily, overwhelming both border agents and ports of entry. Facing mounting pressure to get a handle on the chaos, the administration rolling out the CBP1 app, directing migrants seeking asylum to schedule appointments at legal ports of entry instead of crossing illegally. At its peak, the program processing roughly 1,450 migrants per day through scheduled app-based entry, according to the New York Times.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Those approved, typically receiving two years of temporary parole, allowing them to live in the U.S. without being deported, many even granted work permits. roughly 900,000 people gaining legal status in the U.S. through the controversial program. One of President Trump's first actions upon returning to office was shutting down the CBP1 system, later repurposing it into the CBP Home app aimed at encouraging voluntary self-deportation. In April 2025, the administration sending a mass message to many CBP1 users, informing them their parole was terminated, telling recipients, quote, it's time for you to leave the U.S. Unless it expires sooner,
Starting point is 00:12:28 your parole will terminate seven days from the date of this notice. Do not attempt to remain in the United States. The federal government will find you. That move prompting a lawsuit from migrants from Venezuela, Cuba, and Haiti, arguing the action violated the Administrative Procedure Act, a federal law requiring agencies to follow process
Starting point is 00:12:47 and to justify their actions. The Trump administration arguing it had broad authority to terminate parole and was simply exercising its discretion to end a Biden-era program it viewed as unlawful. Ultimately, Judge Burroughs, citing with the plaintiffs, ruling that while the administration does have the authority to terminate parole, it did not follow its own procedures in doing so here. Quote, when defendants terminated the impacted non-citizens' parole without observing the process mandated by statute and by their own regulations, they took action that was not in accordance with law.
Starting point is 00:13:22 DHS blasting the ruling in a statement to AM update, quote, We disagree with this blatant judicial activism undermining the president's Article 2 authority to determine who remains in this country. We spoke with CEO and co-founder of the federalist Sean Davis, who says this ruling amounts to legislating from the bench. The judge in Boston effectively created her own law in order to justify her decision. Under the law, with the attorney general, can allow people into the U.S. on a case-by-case basis on temporary parole while their claims of asylum
Starting point is 00:13:58 are investigated and that when the Attorney General feels that that parole is no longer necessary, he or she has the sole discretion to terminate the parole, send the individual back to the country he or she came from. What the judge in this case decided was, well, yeah, it says that the AG has discretion to grant parole. But we think the judiciary has the authority to determine whether the parole should have been terminated. And it is a complete inversion of the law. This judge out of nowhere created a right to judicial review that simply does not exist in the law. Dave is calling this the latest example of a broader pattern of judicial overreach. The real tragedy of these types of lawless decisions from unelected, low-level district,
Starting point is 00:14:50 judges around the country is what they are effectively doing is they are crippling the administration of justice and the execution of the laws which solely belong to the president and it may be some a small comfort to people to know that oh in a year or two or maybe three or maybe even after Trump has gone that eventually the the law will prevail and these lawless judges will be smacked down but the problem is you can't get that time back and it is a perfect example of why you cannot have a nation that is basically ruled by hundreds of unelected district judges. If the founders had wanted, the president have to get unanimous consent from unelected inferior judges. They would have put that in the Constitution, but they didn't. And so I view these types of decisions
Starting point is 00:15:37 is just a total abomination and a lawless takeover of power that was never actually granted to the judiciary. A historic return to deep space now underway. For the first time in more than 50 years, astronauts are on their way back to the moon. NASA's Artemis II officially lifting off after a tense countdown, marked by multiple last-minute issues. About 90 minutes before launch, engineers identifying concerns with a critical safety feature, the flight termination system, or FTS. The FTS essentially allowing engineers on the ground to self-destruct the rocket if it deviates from course during takeoff in a manner that could present a threat to public safety. Sounds disconcerting for the astronauts. With some troubleshooting,
Starting point is 00:16:24 NASA resolving the issue. Self-destruct abilities restored, so yay. At 6.22 p.m., each team involved in the mission giving the official go for the launch. Then at 6.35 p.m., the twin-solid rocket boosters igniting. These two rockets responsible for 75% of the thrust required to lift the 32-story, 5.75 million pound space launch system, or SLS rocket. And then, moments later, lift off. The crew of Artemis II now bound for the moon. Humanity's next great voyage begins. About one minute into the flight, the Artemis II already surpassing the speed of sound. Several hours into the mission, the Orion capsule carrying the crew, separating from the rocket that carried it into space. The astronauts now settling into the first phase of a 10-day mission that
Starting point is 00:17:16 could push them farther into space than mankind has ever been before. The current record set by Apollo 13 in 1970, which got 248,655 miles from Earth. Today's task involving orbiting the Earth while testing critical onboard systems, including life support, communications, and navigation. Days 2 to 4, the journey toward the moon. By day 5, the moon's gravity takes over as the dominant force guiding the spacecraft. Then on day six, the crew expected to reach the closest it will get to the moon and the farthest it will get from Earth. On day seven, the return begins, the crew using the moon's gravity to slingshot around it.
Starting point is 00:17:59 No fuel required. We need some of that here. Day nine marks the last full day in space, the crew preparing for re-entry and splashdown somewhere in the Pacific while traveling 25,000 miles per hour. The U.S. Navy will be on standby to retrieve the crew. Godspeed Artemis 2. And that'll do it for your AM update. I'm Megan Kelly. Join me back here for the MK Show.
