And today, our country is winning again and we're winning like never before. Hundreds of thousands reportedly packing the National Mall to hear from President Trump on July 4th, braving the heat and weathering a delay brought on by severe thunderstorms. He was a good man. And he was a good cop. And he was taken from us far too soon as he served our community.

The truck driver who fatally hit a state trooper along a Pennsylvania highway last week is revealed to be a Haitian national in the country illegally. Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, facing possible hit-and-run charges after a weekend crash in California's Napa Valley. and the wedding everyone spent two years talking about is officially in the books. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey get married in front of a thousand of their closest celebrity friends. All that and more coming up in just a moment on your AM update. President Donald Trump delivering a nearly 40-minute 4th of July address, stretching into the last few minutes of Saturday night after severe thunderstorms delayed the speech over 90 minutes. Speaking to thousands who braved the storms and then came back after the area was evacuated, President Trump saying, our nation is, quote, doing better now than we've ever done before. Mr. Trump paying tribute to 56 men, he said, risked at all in 1776 by signing their names on the quote, roster of freedom.

In Philadelphia, our founding fathers summoned the courage of giants and the wisdom of centuries to boldly proclaim these timeless truths. They declared that all men are created equal, that they are endowed with sacred, unalienable rights, by the hand of our creator, and that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in signing their names to the roster of freedom, those 56 patriots put everything at risk, stepped onto the stage of destiny, and seized a victory for the ages, and that's what it was, and this is an evening for the ages, I believe. From the beginning, we were a nation that lived by the motto, victory or death,

and live free or dying. One out of every 100 Americans gave their lives in the fight for independence. President Trump continuing through the history of our great nation, giving nods to legendary American figures like Teddy Roosevelt and Lewis and Clark, also mentioning amazing architectural and industrial feats such as the Panama Canal, calling America a nation of winners. Americans won the West and built the modern world because Americans, America is a nation of winners, and today our country is winning again, and we're winning like never before. Together, we are also reasserting the truth that American strength and power is not something to be ashamed of. It is something that we are very, very proud of.

This country has been the greatest force for peace and justice on Earth. In the last century, we defeated tyrants, demolished evil, and saved freedom again. and again and again. Mr. Trump also honoring several people who are still living today, the Artemis II crew, veterans, and in a touching moment, Gold Star families. We are honored to be joined by 11 Gold Star family members, the Gold Star family. That is one of the great tributes. It's one of the great honors.

A tough honor. There's nothing tougher than that. But these are amazing people. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. Come on up. They went through a lot. And that special person is looking up there and looking down at mom and dad, husband, wife, but they're looking down with great pride. You know that. You know that. And we want to thank you for being here. Throughout his speech, the president taking jabs at the recent resurgence of progressive Democrats fearing toward communism, saying, we don't want that in our country, and that communism will always be, quote, A loser. Our warriors did not fight communism on battlefields across the world, only to have that menace

rear its ugly head right back here in America. We're not going to let it happen. We like to stop a threat like that immediately, and before it begins, it's like a cancer. You've got to cut it out. You've got to cut it out fast. The Stars and Stripes cast the hammer and sickle into oblivion before, and we will do it again, if necessary. I don't think it's going to be necessary. I think people have learned. They've learned what to do and how to handle it, and we'll get to handle it very well. During the thunderstorm delay, attendees were forced to huddle in nearby federal buildings until gates reopened, according to the Hill. While the postponement caused some people to leave,

others stuck it out, many even singing patriotic tunes while they sheltered. President Trump thanking those who stuck around, despite the weather and the increasingly late hour. They estimated they had 375,000 people before everybody had to leave, and they now have 150,000 people. It's the craziest thing anyone's ever seen, at least. And I want to just thank you, and I feel so badly about some people they left that they couldn't get back. But you're very special people. And we have a very special country. Thank you very much. President Trump saying Sunday, he personally overruled a recommendation to cancel the July 4th Salute to America event on the National Mall after severe storms

neared. In a truth social post-Trump writing, quote, when I heard that it was canceled, I immediately overturned that decision. He congratulated law enforcement officials for quickly rescreening people who wanted to return once the storms had passed. The event, of course, was not without its usual detractors, namely the Democrats and Legacy Media. Here's a bit of what was said on CNN and NBC and MS Now. This speech here tonight was vintage Donald Trump. He made a sort of joke about this being his third term. And another part where he said that there are people who don't treat him fairly.

Those kinds of typical Trump grievance and partisanship, that was part of this speech. President Trump always has to find a way to work into politics. He once again brought up communism several times over the course of this speech. warning that he would not allow communism to become part of the United States political system, even though there's not any real apparent threat of communism taking over in any way, shape, or form. This president uses these platforms to politicize and tries to cut a edge, a wedge between Americans on what would otherwise be a celebratory night here on the 250th anniversary of

America's founding. President Trump ending the evening by saying the last 250 years are just the beginning. At 250 years old, we may be the oldest constitutional republic on earth, but our country is just getting started because the best is yet to come. This is only the dawn of the golden age of America, and on this 250th 4th of July, we declared just as they did two and a half centuries ago that for our country and for our children and for the cause of liberty, we are going to take our country to new levels, to levels not reached.

We're going to make it bigger, better, stronger, and we're going to love it even more. And at the end, a record-breaking massive fireworks show. Police in Pennsylvania say a truck driver involved in last week's crash that killed a state trooper was an illegal immigrant from Haiti. According to Pennsylvania State Police, 44-year-old trooper Mike Pahara was conducting a commercial vehicle inspection along Interstate 81 in Skulkill County last Wednesday morning when a semi-truck drove off the road striking his marked police car and the vehicle he was inspecting before also hitting the officer himself.

Both trucks caught fire in the crash. Pahara was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. In a press conference last week, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro honoring the fallen state trooper. Early this morning, Pennsylvania lost one of its finest public servants. Trooper Mike Pahara, who his loved ones called Mikey, a 20-year trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police, who served his community with extraordinary distinction. Mike was a devoted brother. Mike was a devoted uncle and Mike was a devoted son. He was a good man and he was a good cop and he was taken from us far too soon as he served our community. We're all going to miss him.

The driver that left the road, ultimately hitting Officer Pahara, has been identified by Fox News as 33-year-old Michael Bond, a Haitian national living in the U.S. illegally. Bond facing charges now of homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, and six additional lesser charges. The suspect, currently being held in Schuylkill County Prison on $700,000 bail, due back in court July 15th. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security has lodged an immigration detainer against him, Bonn entering the U.S. in July 24 under the Biden administration's humanitarian parole program, and later applying for temporary protected status. But his application denied.

DHS terminating his parole in June 2025 and ordering him to leave the country, which he then failed to do, per Fox News. The 33-year-old Haitian obtaining a non-domiciled commercial driver's license or CDL while living in Massachusetts in March 2025. Historically, foreign nationals who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. but do not have a permanent residence or domicile in the issuing state could apply for non-domiciled CDLs. Bond first qualifying for the license in 2025 under federal law, then getting it renewed in February of 26,

before the Trump administration directed states to stop issuing or renewing these things for ineligible drivers. Last year, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy launching a nationwide audit of states issuing non-dust, domiciled commercial driver's licenses after a series of deadly crashes, including crashes in Wyoming, Florida, and in California. Coming up, Nancy Pelosi's 86-year-old husband has yet another run-in with the law and may face charges, but none yet. And the wedding of the year officially in the books as Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift leave a sports arena in New York City as husband and wife. Paul Pelosi, the 86-year-old husband of Democratic California Congresswoman and so-called Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi, which is not a thing, could face hit and run charges after a car crash in Napa County, California over the weekend. Meaning you or I would, but because it's a Pelosi, we can only say he could. Pelosi driving a convertible, striking a parked car Friday afternoon in the Napa Valley City of Yountville, briefly stopping and then driving away, according to a witness, the incident causing major damage to the parked car. According to the Napa County Sheriff's Office, deputies locating Pelosi approximately a quarter mile away from the crash after his car stopped working. Pelosi reportedly telling authorities, he knew he had hit something, but, quote,

he did not know what he had hit, so he kept driving. He drove until his car became disabled and was no longer able to continue driving, end quote. According to the sheriff's office, deputies reporting, there was no indication that alcohol or drugs were a factor. The Napa County Sheriff's Office recommending a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of a property damage collision and forwarding the case to the district attorney's office. Mr. Pelosi was not taken into custody, local officials say, because no one was injured. A Pelosi family spokesperson releasing the following statement after the crash, quote, Mr. Paul Pelosi has personally apologized to the owner of the vehicle and assured them that he would take responsibility for the damage to their vehicle. Speaker Pelosi will not be commenting

further on this private matter. This is not Mr. Pelosi's first run-in with law enforcement related to his driving. In May, 2002, then-Speaker Pelosi's husband was arrested after an accident. later pleading guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury or DUI. He was sentenced to five days in jail and three days of probation, as well as thousands in fines and victim restitution. He only served two of those days, reportedly, getting credit for good conduct and then doing one day in a work program at the courthouse. Here's some of the dash cam footage of that interaction with police in 2022. I understand that you want to go home, But you got to understand from my standpoint, right?

You're involved in a crash. I smell alcohol coming from your breath. I can see you're very unsteady on your feet. So you see where it's concerning to me? Right. No, I understand who you are. And I'm not here to try to do anything to draw any negative attention to you. If you've been honest with me, there's really nothing that you should be worried about.

Back in 1957, as a teenager, Pelosi was driving when his car flipped over, a tragic accident that killed his older brother, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Paul was initially cited for manslaughter, but those charges were later dropped. The Napa County Sheriff's Office now requesting the DMV examine whether Mr. Pelosi should be allowed to continue to drive, a process that happens when an elderly driver is involved. As you probably heard, unless you blessedly live under a rock, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelty are now husband and wife. The massive pop star-star and Kansas City Chief's tight end tied the knot Friday in a lavish star-studded ceremony at New York's Madison Square Garden, drawing over a thousand guests. According to variety, those who scored a ticket to Swift and Kelsey's nuptials received watermarked digital invites that came with NDAs. The outlet also listing off the A-listers spotted entering MSG, including Ed Shearren, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Kravitz, Dakota Johnson, Ethan Hawke, Jason Sudecas, Hugh Grant, and Camilla Cabello,

just to name a few. Other big names reported the in attendance, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, former Disney CEO Bob Iger, and who could forget Oprah. You know, just a few of their closest friends. officiating the ceremony comedian Adam Sandler. Sandler and Kelsey reportedly striking up a friendship while filming the 2025 movie Happy Gilmore Two. 2025, meaning last year. I'm sure they're super tight. Sandler even singing an original song for the couple, according to Variety.

Performing at the reception, Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Nix, and Tim McGraw. According to multiple reports, outlets reporting the original. was completely transformed, floors, walls, and ceiling all covered to create an intimate garden setting inside the venue, complete with real flowers and rows of seating. The couple did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, Taylor's brother Austin served as man of honor, while Travis's brother Jason was best man. Of course, the Swifties were also there. Outside, that is, we can't let these people in. Here's what some of the superfans told the Associated Press. We're so excited to be here.

We came all the way from Little Ark, Arkansas, just to celebrate Taylor's wedding and congratulate her on her big day. That's why we came for Taylor's wedding and the fireworks. So, yeah, we're really excited about her wedding. I think it's our version of her royal wedding because she's so popular and her future husband's so popular.
