President Biden stated that he would have preferred to have allowed bipartisan legislation to work its way through Congress, which he would have signed in a deal that he had brokered with the most conservative member in the Republican Party on the issue of immigration, the Oklahoma Republican Senator James Lankford. But Donald

Trump ordered the Republicans to kill the bipartisan border deal, making bipartisanship impossible because Donald Trump said it was a winning issue for him to create chaos at the border. And then Donald Trump gave speeches bragging about that. And we'll show you that in just a moment. But I want to show you President Biden's speech because I know we show a lot of Trump clips and a lot of MAGA Republicans saying and doing awful things. But I think it's important that we show what a leader looks and sounds like. And here's President Biden's speech earlier in the day, where he says that the reason that he is here and he's speaking is that he's going to do what the Republicans have refused to do. Let's play this clip. I've come here today to do what the Republicans in Congress

refuse to do, take the necessary steps to secure our border. Four months ago, after weeks of intense negotiation between my staff and Democrats and Republicans, we came to a clear, clear bipartisan deal. It was the strongest border security agreement in decades. But then Republicans in Congress, not all, but walked away from it. Why? Because Donald Trump told them to. He told the Republicans, it has been published widely by many of you, that he didn't want to fix the issue. He wanted to use it to attack me. That's what he wanted to do was a cynical and an extremely cynical political move and a complete disservice to the American people who are looking for us to not to weaponize the border, but to fix it. President Biden says, look, while

there will be tough policies to secure the border, we have to always make sure we are guided by our basic humanity and decency. And this administration is never going to demonize immigrants. It's never going to attack immigrants. It's never going to dehumanize immigrants. Let me share this with you here. Play this clip. I believe that immigration has always been a lifeblood of America. We're constantly renewed by an infusion of people and new talent. The Statue of Liberty is not some relic of American history.

It stands for who we are as the United States. So I will never demonize immigrants. I'll never refer to immigrants as poisoning the blood of a country. And further, I'll never demonize immigrants. I'll never refer to immigrants as poisoning the blood of a country. And further, I'll never separate children from their families at the border. I will not ban people from this country because of their religious beliefs. I will not use the US military to go into neighborhoods all across the country to pull millions of people out of their homes and away from their families to put detention

camps while awaiting deportation, as my predecessor says he will do if he occupies his office again. And then President Biden says, look, what I would have preferred to do here, what is important to me is bipartisanship. And we had a process with the most conservative Republican on the issue of immigration, their think tank leader on the issue, James Lankford, a Republican from Oklahoma. And we allowed James Lankford, the Oklahoma Republican, to lead the process. And we basically gave Lankford what he wanted as part of a broader compromise that would have benefited the American people. And we had to make sure we made some changes there. But Lankford's deal

was basically the Republican wishlist. And this is what y'all have been railing about for all of this time. So we said, look, are there things we disagree with here? Sure. But we need to reach compromises in our country. So we'll make compromises on these issues. And then the MAGA Republicans killed the bill because one, Donald Trump, ordered it to be killed. Here, play this clip. Today, I'm joined by a bipartisan group of governors, members of Congress, mayors, law enforcement officials, most of whom live and work along the southern border. They know the border is not a political issue to be weaponized. The responsibility we have to share to do something about it.

They don't have time for the games played in Washington, and neither do the American people. So today, I'm moving past Republican obstruction and using the executive authorities available to me as president to do what I can on my own to address the border. Frankly, I would have preferred to address this issue through a bipartisan legislation because that's the only way to actually get the kind of system we have now that's broken, fixed, to hire more border patrol agents, more asylum officers, more judges. But Republicans and the left have no choice. And just so you can see Donald Trump saying and bragging that he killed the bill, I'll just show you a short portion. I do not want to devote

any significant period of time in this video to showing Trump clips. That's not what this video is about. But let me just show you in a short clip Donald Trump saying and bragging how he got the bill killed. Here, play this clip. And in this deal, which we, by the way, killed. I think we killed it. I think it's dead. But you can never say. But let's talk about the facts, right? Because facts matter here on the Midas Touch Network and facts should matter in our country. So right here is the Republican Senator James Lankford, who led the negotiations on the bipartisan border deal. And here's what he said. get. James Lankford's someone who I vehemently disagree with on mostly all issues. But that's okay. That's life. That's okay sometimes. But on the issue of immigration, there's an objective reality here of what's going on. And James Lankford is even admitting, this was the bill that we all wanted. This was it. And Donald Trump said to kill it.

So President Biden was correct in saying that the things that were laid out in the bipartisan border deal would have secured the border. And yes, this was killed by Donald Trump. Here, play the clip. So Biden, in a rare moment, was correct in the things that he was actually laying out in that clip from the State of the Union address. It would have increased the number of border agents, would have increased the number of asylum officers.

It would have radically changed the way that we did actually the process. Look, and even Fox gets the message. Here, a Fox host is interviewing the extremist propagandist, MAGA Republican, Annapolina Luna. That's the name she goes by now. I don't actually think that's what her name is. And she's almost like, in her own way, one of these George Santos, we'll say George Santos light, with lots of question marks, we'll just say, about everything relating to her. But here she is right here on Fox and Foxes. But didn't Trump want this bill killed? Isn't that what's happening? And then just watch. She spews the talking points. But even Fox right here is saying, isn't that what's happening? And then just watch, he spews the talking points.

But even Fox right here saying, isn't that what happened? Here, play the clip. Donald Trump had wanted to let this wait until after the election, assuming that he would be elected and do it. I mean, is that what Republicans are doing? You don't wanna let him, that is the president, get any credit for doing anything? No, I don't think that President Trump wanted to wait. In fact, whenever I've had conversations- Well, he hated the measure, but he's like, you know, it's a shame what's happening on the border security. But what I will say is that he knows that they've been using this as a political tool moving forward.

And I think that it really is unfortunate that the Democrat machines don't really care about what happens to Americans and that they try to label so many of us that are minorities as racist and see the public for wanting this. Each side uses political tools, right? I mean, look, I can say there is definitely propaganda that exists in Washington. Both you and I know that. However, when we're talking about border security, this should have never been something that they should have campaigned on. Not just Fox, of course, you have MSNBC saying, look, the Biden administration wanted a bipartisan border deal to secure the border. And we have to be we have to just reflect the reality of why there isn't one here.

Play the clip. And the Senate that didn't even get a vote. And of course, President Trump told Republicans not to vote for because he said it didn't go far enough. This is their way of saying, look, we've tried to take really bold action through an executive order. The court stopped us. Now it's up to you, Congress. And they want that message going into the November election, especially if those numbers rise along the border.

We do have to point out, though, numbers have remained slower and steady since December. We saw historic highs in December over 12,000 a day. Since then, they've remained around 4,000 to 5,000 per day along the southern border. Here in Rio Grande Valley, this used to be one of the busiest spots on the border, Willie. Anytime we wanted to come down, see what was happening on the border, see, I've seen hundreds of migrants packed under a bridge just beyond this wall. Today, pretty quiet. We've seen a few Border Patrol vans roll through. They might be hearing some small groups of migrants coming through.

But by and large, the border has been quieter this year than we saw, especially toward the end of last year. I just have to point that out because sometimes I think we forget about that when we're talking about border politics. No, it's important. Here's the statement just issued by President Biden. Biden says, look, I would have preferred to address our issues at the border through bipartisan legislation because that's the only way to actually fix our broken system. But Republicans in Congress have left me no choice. And then he lays out the plan.

The new executive order and action will bar immigrants who cross the southern border unlawfully from receiving asylum. It will strengthen the asylum screening process, new docket to address cases and make decisions within six months versus six years, revoking visas of CEOs and government officials who profit from the exploitation of vulnerable migrants, expanding efforts to dismantle human smuggling and support immigration prosecutions, enhancing immigration enforcement, and seizing fentanyl at the border. And as the AP reports, President Biden rolls out a migration order that aims to shut down asylum requests at the U.S.-Mexico border if illegal crossings average 2,500 per day. Here's a statement just issued by

Democratic Senator Mark Kelly, my statement on President Biden's new measure to limit daily unauthorized crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border. President Biden's plan is a welcome action that will help address urgent needs at the border. In Arizona, where border patrol agents and nonprofits are often overwhelmed by daily migrant crossings, this new effort will support their crucial work and help relieve border communities from the burden of our broken immigration system. But make no mistake, this is only necessary because Congress has failed to do its duty to help fix the border, and there's no substitute for that. The Senate has twice had the opportunity to take up an agreement negotiated by Republicans and Democrats

to invest in more Border Patrol agents, technology, and personnel to stop fentanyl, officers to quickly screen asylum claims, and other lasting solutions. But both times, my Republican colleagues walked away. Today is a step forward for the federal government to better support Arizona, and I'll keep working with anyone to fix our border and our broken immigration system. border restrictions than any Democratic president in history, came to Congress, Republicans agreed with him, and then a bunch of Republicans walked away for political reasons. So I think he should do both. I think he should do the policy. I think he should say, here are some of the things we've already done. Here are things we're going to do more of. We need to get more resources. We need to get shorter wait times. We need to get all of those things that were in this bill. I hope he says all of that, but he should remind people that he came to the table and said yes, and conservative Republicans walked away from it to help Donald Trump. That's not an unfair thing to remind voters. There you have it, folks. I wanted to emphasize what President Biden is talking about. I get
