But I agree that I prefer hearings to be done behind closed doors because I think that they actually get to the heart of the matter and they get some truth and they can ask questions without preening for the camera, without all the grandstanding. That is my preference. And for for Abbey Lowell, his attorney to say, say well you all use that to misinform and to distort the facts well you know what you can do that too abby after he comes out of his closed door session you

feel free to knock yourself out and you can distort too i mean it's it's it's a silly argument and and comer has said fine sit sit before us publicly a public hearing we'll do that later we want the closed door one first and i I think that's totally, totally appropriate. Hunter Biden would love nothing more than to sit, have cameras pointed at him and try to generate the narrative that he wants to to form. And I think it's proper and right that you're right. He gets he gets to do another one, maybe on 60 minutes or wherever he wants to go. Come on. Fox is arguing now that it would be so much better not to do a public hearing with Hunter Biden under oath for the entire world to see

as Hunter Biden's agreed to do on December 13th. What Fox is saying is what American people are really craving is a secret deposition of Hunter Biden to be taken by James Comer and Jim Jordan so that all of the different sides can then try to spin it to their advantage. How absurd can you be? I'm Ben Myselis from the Midas Touch Network. We previously reported that Hunter Biden, through his lawyer at Winston and Strawn, Abby Lowell, sent a letter to the MAGA Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, informing him that Hunter Biden would agree

to do a public hearing, a testimony at a public hearing under oath so that there could be the utmost transparency and that Hunter Biden would not be agreeable to doing a secret deposition where MAGA Republicans who have already manipulated and fabricated evidence can try to spin narratives that don't meet the reality. In response to Hunter Biden's letter, James Comer in the GOP House Oversight Committee said, nope. They said, Hunter Biden is trying to play by his own rules instead of following the rules required of everyone else. That won't stand with the House Republicans. Our lawfully issued subpoena to Hunter Biden requires him to appear for deposition on December 13th. We expect full cooperation and then it goes

and then maybe later we'll do a testimony in a public setting at some future date that's not delineated here. And here's where the Democrats are just pushing back forcefully. Here you have the ranking member from the Democratic Party, Jamie Raskin from the House Oversight Committee, who says the following. Let me get this straight. After wailing and moaning for 10 months about Hunter Biden and alluding to some vast unproven family conspiracy, after sending Hunter Biden a subpoena to appear and testify, Chairman Comer and the Oversight Republicans now reject his offer to appear before the full committee and the eyes of the world and to answer any questions that they pose? What an epic humiliation for our colleagues and what a frank confession that they are simply not interested in

the facts and have no confidence in their own case or the ability of their own members to pursue it. After the miserable failure of their impeachment hearing in September, MAGA Republican Chairman James Comer, has now apparently decided to avoid all committee hearings where the public can actually see for itself the logical, rhetorical, and factual contortions they have tied themselves up in. The evidence has shown time and time again that President Biden has committed no wrongdoing, much less an impeachable offense. Chairman Comer's insistence that Hunter Biden's interview should happen behind closed doors proves that once again, what the Republicans fear most is sunlight and the truth. And now that you have Fox pushing the talking points, and now the MAGA talking point is, we don't want public hearings under penalty of perjury of Hunter

Biden. We demand secret hearings, damn it. We demand secret hearings, damn it. We had Democratic Congress member Jared Moskowitz on the Midas Touch show recently, and Moskowitz made this exact point as well. Moskowitz said that, look, when it comes to Chairman James Comer, difficult to even call him chairman because he acts devoid of any leadership, what they prefer to do is dance around with Sean Hannity with softball questions to contort these narratives, but not have these hearings before the public because they get absolutely humiliated where

there's a forum for the facts, a forum for the facts. Remember that. I want to talk about that after I play this clip of my interview with Democratic Congress member Jared Moskowitz. Play the clip. The chairman seemed to forget that Democrats get 50% of the time in the hearing. And so, yeah, you're right. He's just going on TV now prosecuting this case in his mind on television, running to Sean Hannity. Sean, give me a hug. I need to tell my story.

You know, like he's just doing that over and over rather than having a committee hearing to deny us the ability to pop the balloon, right? I can't imagine after last hearing where Comer had a mental breakdown and clearly needs a spa day. By the way, if he were to allow us to have another hearing, I may be wearing a Smurf tie, highly possible. May have a gift for him. Could be a plush Smurf, perhaps, that I bought on Amazon, maybe. But yeah, they will now want to deny us the ability to explain to the American people what the facts and the truth are. So they're now even having less committee hearings and just talking to their echo chamber to deny Democrats getting

the facts out there. I mean, look, it's terrible for democracy. It's terrible for Congress. It's terrible for the American people. But for their agenda, that that that seems to be a smart strategy, because when you when you when you don't have any facts or evidence and you allow Democrats to point that out of the hearing doesn't go doesn't go so well for the facts. Now, I hear frequently, and I'm sure you hear it too, the common refrain that Democrats need to be better messengers. You know what I'm talking about. You hear that all the time. And look, they could always be better. There's always room for improvement, adaptation to the kind of modern modalities of technology and communication. I don't want to understate that point that there's always room for improvement. But look, these Democrats are actually pretty good messengers. So the question is, is the message breaking through? And the answer is there has to be a forum for the factual information. That's why the Democrats thrive at these congressional hearings.

It is a forum for the objective facts to come out. The MAGA Republicans can try to do their cherry pick stuff and manipulate the evidence. And then the Democrats come out. The MAGA Republicans can try to do their cherry pick stuff and manipulate the evidence. And then the Democrats come out and say to the witness, but can you please read the rest of the paragraph? Or that's actually not what that document says. Or you have no evidence to support the statements that you made. You understand that you're under oath, correct? You can do things like that in the forum of these committee hearings. And so at the beginning of this video, I showed you what they're pushing on Fox. Immediately when James Comer, Donald Trump, the MAGA Republicans come up with their talking point, the new one is they hate public hearings

under penalty of perjury. Apparently Fox gets into action. All right wing media gets into action. Boom, boom, boom. They're on message and they're just injecting that disinformation over and over and over and over again. And then you have the kind of other legacy media that's not the right-wing disinformation. And what are they focused on? What are they talking about? Are they carrying the message? Are they carrying the message? Carriage is an important factor here in this. And it is so critical because legacy media is not doing its role that we collectively, this pro-democracy community becomes the carriage. We become the carrier of the facts, not of disinformation, not of ranting and raving and wild shouting of the facts.

And the facts here are very simple. For years now, MAGA Republicans have been saying that they want to get Hunter Biden under oath before the American people. And Hunter Biden said, yes, I am agreeable to do that. I want it to be done transparently. I will appear for a public hearing before everybody, before the House Oversight Committee, before the whole world under penalty of perjury. And then in response, the MAGA Republicans goes, oh, we don't want that. We want secret depositions. We want our process.

I don't care what political party you're from. What the MAGA Republicans are doing here should piss you off, should make you angry. These are the types of tactics that we see in authoritarian nations. And when they talk about, oh, the banana republic and all of these things, it's all projection and it's all confession because those are their tactics exposed right here.
