thing as moderate Republicans. I'm Ben Micellis from the Midas Touch Network. Numerous so-called moderate Republicans are now discussing the pressure campaign that included threats, harassment, and intimidation, presumably from proxies of MAGA Republican Jim Jordan. For example, we previously reported how Congress member Don Bacon's wife received very threatening text messages. And now we are also learning that the Capitol Police is involved in investigations of criminal threats made against other Republicans, threatening members to support Jim Jordan or else. I'll get to that in a moment because a Republican member of Congress just put out a statement saying how the police are now involved after she received a threat when she did not support Jim Jordan. And just so you recall, to refresh your recollection, Jim Jordan has now lost additional votes, making his ability to become speaker even more difficult.

At first on Tuesday, there were 20 defections. On Wednesday, there were 22 no votes against Jim Jordan. And that number as of now is expected to rise. So we showed you, for example, some of the messages that Congress member Don Bacon, who you saw at the beginning of this video, got. This is actually the text messages his wife received. For example, talk to your husband, tell him to step up and be a leader and help the Republican Party get a speaker. There's too much going on in the world for all this going on in Republican Party. You guys take five steps forward and then turn around, take 20 steps backwards. No wonder our party always ends up getting screwed over.

In another message that Don Bacon's wife shared, she received messages as follows. Why is your husband causing chaos by not supporting Jim Jordan? I thought he was a team player. Who is this? Don Bacon's wife responded. Oh, now you have nothing to say. Bacon's wife responded. Oh, now you have nothing to say, Bacon's wife responded. And then this individual harassing and intimidating her responded a little bit later. Your husband will not hold any political office ever again. What a disappoint and failure he is. And then Don Bacon's wife says, he has more

courage than you. You won't put your name to your statements. And now we're getting this. Here is a letter from Republican Congresswoman Marionette Miller-Meeks, who voted against Jim Jordan in the most recent round, and she received death threats immediately thereafter. Here is a statement from Republican Congresswoman Miller Meeks. Yesterday, I voted to support Jim Jordan's candidacy for Speaker of the House. I voted for Jim Jordan for the greater good of the House Republican Party based on our conference meeting and the test speaker ballot that was cast earlier this week. However, after one round of votes with my support, he was not able to secure enough votes for the speaker

nomination. And my initial concerns about threatening tactics of Jim Jordan supporters, including from members of Congress, increased despite assurances. Today, it became abundantly clear early in the roll call vote that Jim Jordan still did not have the votes necessary to become Speaker. Given the concerns I had before any vote and the ability of the Speaker designee to unify the conference, I voted in support of Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Kay Granger to serve as Speaker of the House. I voted in support of Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Kay Granger to serve as Speaker of the House. I voted for Chairwoman Granger because she has demonstrated great leadership this year by bringing forth and passing fiscally responsible single-subject appropriation bills and is a staunch conservative. However, since my vote in support of Chairwoman Granger, I have received credible death threats and a barrage of threatening calls.

The proper authorities have been notified and my office is cooperating fully. One thing I cannot stomach or support is a bully. Someone who threatens another with bodily harm or tries to suppress differing opinions undermines opportunity for unity and regard for freedom of speech. That's why I spoke out forcefully against censorship and suppression during the COVID-19 pandemic. I did not stand for bullies before I voted for Chairwoman Granger. And when I voted for the Speaker-designee Jordan, I will not bend to bullies now. I understand that voting against Representative Jordan is not popular at this time.

I respected Jim enough to vote for him, knowing he did not have the votes to be elected. We have had numerous calls to all of our offices, and many have urged that I support Jim Jordan. Many others urged me to look for a conservative consensus candidate. Our party needs a consensus candidate so we can get back to the work, forwarding appropriation, supporting Israel, and stopping the insane policies of the Biden administration, policies that are causing sky high prices. And here she goes and always got to attack the Democrats when you want to talk about that. How about the fact that you added $7.8 trillion to the deficit? How about

y'all are so disorganized you can't even elect a speaker? How about y'all have no actual solutions and just engage in performative nonsense? How about all of those facts? But look, the point I want to make here, at least, is that the threats that are taking place against people like Congresswoman Miller-Meeks and Congressman Bacon is completely unacceptable. Of course, the tone for that was also set by Fox over the past 72 hours, where you had Sean Hannity basically trying to whip votes for MAGA Republican Jim Jordan by providing basically threats to other Republican members if they did not vote for Jim Jordan. And here was the letter that Hannity was sending to all of these Republicans, basically saying, if you don't support Jim Jordan, I'm going to expose you on Fox. Here's the letter from Sean Hannity's team. Hello, Stephanie from the Hannity Show with Fox. Sources tell Hannity that Representative fill in the blank, the name of the Republican,

is not supporting Representative Jim Jordan for Speaker. Can you please let me know if this is accurate? And if true, Sean Hannity would like to know why during a war breaking out between Israel and Hamas with the war in Ukraine with wide open borders, with a budget that's unfinished, why would Representative Phil in the blank be against Representative Jim Jordan for Speaker? Please let us know when Representative Phil in the blank plans on opening the People's House so work can be done. Lastly, are there any conditions that Representative Blank will choose to work with Democrats on the process of electing a new speaker? The deadline for comment is 11 a.m. Eastern time tomorrow, October 16. Thank you. So that was the email Hannity was sending around, a clear implicit threat. And then Hannity went on his show and basically said, what? I'm going to expose you.

You're going to be a snowflake? Are you snowflakes? And that was Hannity basically engaged in more extortive conduct and claiming that he was not involved in extortive conduct. And obviously, you know, the MAGA stochastic terrorists get their messages from this. They understand the meaning of this. And then they engage in these types of threats. And here, the irony, when Fox tries to act like it's a credible news source, which it isn't, when they've got people handily engaged in that conduct, here you have a Fox reporter,

you won't even call her that, questioning MAGA Republican extremist Byron Donalds from Florida. And she asks him if he thinks that members of Congress have been turned off against voting for Jim Jordan because of the threats, but she doesn't really address that. Y'all, it's your network that's part of the threats. Play this clip. Axios heading into all this was talking about the pressure campaign that had building to vote for Jim Jordan.

Some were anonymously telling sources that they were getting bullied into voting. Was any of that a turnoff for some of these members? I believe it was. I've talked to a couple of members where they felt that that's just not what they needed. I don't think that's what we should be doing right now. And listen, for all of the voters in our country, I think it's important for members to hear your voice. And I totally respect that. But I think that there are members up here who they want to be able to make this decision on leadership and then move forward.

I think some of the pressure campaigns have backfired. They have not worked. And so I think that right now, under the leadership of Jim Jordan, I would request that people just take a break, take a pause, let the members work and figure this out amongst ourselves so we can elect Jim Jordan as speaker, and then we can get back to the work that we have to do. You know, and lastly, as we reflect on that clip by Byron Donalds, MAGA Republican extremist Byron Donalds, it should be noted that he said he will not support a consensus speaker. He will not support the speaker pro temp Patrick McHenry and empower him. He's going to keep on voting for Jim Jordan, he says. And lastly, let me just say this.

Jim Jordan has been a menace his entire life, right? His whole image of being a fighter, it's not a fighter. It's somebody who bullies and denigrates people and tries to use blackmail, extortion, and threats to get what he wants. He's never had a legislative accomplishment in his life. He's never passed a piece of legislation, yet alone that became a law. He hasn't put forward any legislation that even got to a committee. He spent his whole time in Congress trying to divide Americans. And his history is someone who threatens and covers up conduct. He covered up sexual abuse. He was involved in an insurrection to overthrow our democracy. He refuses to respond to a subpoena. And so Jim Jordan's whole life is threats. And he thought that his threats were going to work against some of these other Republicans. And fortunately, there were 20 and now 22 holdouts. And it seems that the threats that he's making is not working against these 22. But it still should be shocking to you watching this that there were still 199 members of the Republican Party who know Jim

Jordan covers up for sexual abuse. They know that Jim Jordan supports insurrection. They know that Jim Jordan refuses to comply with this subpoena, yet they are the ones who are saying that that is who they want as their leader. Shameful, shameful, shameful.
