And I was very clear with the president and all those in the room that the House is actively pursuing and investigating all the various options on that. And we will address that in a timely manner. But again, the first priority of the country is our border and making sure it's secure.

I believe the president can take executive authority right now today to change that. And I told him that again today in person, as I've said to him many times, publicly and privately over the last several weeks. It's time for action. It is a catastrophe and it must stop. And we will get the government funded and we'll keep working on that. So we'll have more. That's MAGA Mike Johnson, Donald Trump's coffee boy, who also holds the title speaker of the

House, but just does Donald Trump's bidding. There you hear him talking about a meeting that he held with President Biden, Chuck Schumer, the Senate majority leader. You had Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House of Representatives Minority Leader Democrat Hakeem Jeffries. And even though MAGA Mike Johnson was the person responsible for killing a bipartisan border deal, the strongest border deal in decades, if not American history, that President Biden agreed to. That Republican senator from Oklahoma, James Lankford, who had the reputation as being toughest on the border, was the lead negotiator for, that was supported by the Border Patrol

Union. Donald Trump ordered MAGA Mike, destroy the border bill, kill it so that Donald Trump can complain and whine about the border as a political issue for him. And now you see MAGA Mike Johnson right there falling in line with Donald Trump's command and basically saying, we are not going to fund the government unless we first deal with the border. MAGA Mike, you killed the border deal. That meeting that MAGA Mike left where he's giving that press conference outside the White House, as I mentioned, it was between President Biden and the leaders in the Senate,

the two leaders in the House of Representative Hakeem Jeffries and Speaker of the House, MAGA Mike Johnson, and President Biden said, we need solutions because the government's about to shut down on March 1st. You haven't passed continuing resolutions. You haven't passed the national security supplemental. You took a two-week vacation where you ended up just chilling with Donald Trump and then had the audacity to claim that you were working hard when y'all sent everybody out on vacation intentionally before the funding deadline was about to expire. And let me show you this other clip. This is MAGA Mike Johnson again,

again, you know, again, getting his orders from Donald Trump and talking about the border. Play this clip. This acutely, they understand the catastrophe at the border is affecting everyone. And it is top of mind for all the American people for that reason. So I brought that issue up repeatedly today in that room and again, one on one with the president. I think. And here's one more clip of MAGA Mike Johnson for you. Play this clip. When you talk about America's needs, you have to talk first about our open border. I've been, I believe in in maybe 20-something states over

the last several weeks, going around the country, appearing at events with my colleagues, and we're hearing from the American people of all parties and all persuasions in all cities and all states who feel this acutely. They understand the catastrophe at the border is affecting everyone. Let me show you what Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, majority leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, had to say what he was telling MAGA Mike Johnson. Play this clip. And so we said to the speaker, get it done. I told him this is one of the moments, I said, I've been around here a long time. It's maybe four or five times that history is looking over your shoulder.

And if you don't do the right thing, whatever the immediate politics are, you will regret it. I told him two years from now and every year after that, because really it's in his hands. It's in his hands. We told him how important it was. It was passionate. I talked about my trip to Ukraine, where I met soldiers who had Russian artillery in range with the drones they have, Ukrainian, no arms, and how serious the lack of arms was. And it was the consensus in that room, Zelensky and Ukraine will lose the war if we don't get the arms and don't get them quickly. So you see all of that in the background looming, of course, as Donald Trump saying to kill the border deal and then taking credit for killing the border deal. Here, play this clip. But you give illegal taxpayer-funded lawyers, so they have millions of dollars in this agreement, in this deal,

which we, by the way, killed. I think we killed it. I think it's dead. But you can never say it because bad bills always come back to life because these guys make a lot of money with bad bills. But they give millions, tens of millions of dollars, it's down there, to lawyers to represent the illegal immigrants that come into our country. It's not even believable.

And here Donald Trump says to blame him, just say that he's the reason that the border deal was killed. Here, play this clip. And I'll fight it all the way. I noticed a lot of the senators, a lot of the senators are trying to say respectfully, they're blaming it on me. I said, that's okay. Please blame it on me. Please. Then you had President Biden. Let me just show you Biden from his meeting with MAGA Mike Johnson and Chuck Schumer and all of the leaders who were there. Let's just take a look at it. Mitch McConnell, Hakeem Jeffries. Take a look at it right here.

Play the clip. And so, and government funding. I'm sure you guys had all of that. I'll take care of it. I'll keep it aside. I think that it's a Congress's responsibility to fund the government. We've got to get about doing a shutdown that would damage the economy significantly, and I think

we all agree to that, and we need to buy part of the solution. So I want to hear from the group, and I want to hear from all of you here. So thank you all for coming. And here was President Biden in a video that he cut where he had an iPad and he was reacting to Donald Trump going on Laura Ingraham, I think, where Donald Trump was bragging about killing the border deal. Why were you against the House, against the Senate border deal, the bipartisan border They allow 5,000 people a week, but a lot of people took it as 5,000 people a day. It made it much better for the opposing side. You know, he just admitted it. He sabotaged our bipartisan deal, bipartisan deal to secure the border because it made it much better for the opposing side. You know who the opposing side is? In this case, it's America. Donald Trump roots against America every chance he gets. He's only in this for himself. right now? Well, by March 1, March 1, there would be a partial government shutdown. There is no national security supplemental that's been passed because at first the MAGA Republicans said they would only support Ukraine if there was a border deal in there. Then Democrats gave the border

deal. Then MAGA Republicans said, no, they don't want the border deal. And then they said, no, they don't want to fund Ukraine without the border deal that they just killed. So that's what's happening with the national security supplemental that's languishing. Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin in Russia for the first time is making significant advances in Ukraine because Ukraine is out of ammunition effectively. Avdiivka was abdicated and the Republicans, the Russians, the same thing at this point, took over Avdiivka. Ukrainians are in retreat. I mean, they're still having a valiant fight, but America has not stepped up because MAGA Republicans are refusing to. You've got Marjorie Taylor Greene out there basically putting forward the Republican

talking points. Here's what she has to say. Sounds like 2016 and 2017, the whole Russian collusion lies that they came up with in the beginning. How big of a threat do you see Russian aggression going forward? I think if you walked around and asked most people if they're afraid of Russia, they would laugh until you know. And here's MAGA Republican Congress member Goode, which is not what his name should be, but here he is talking about that he's OK with the government shutdown here. Play this clip. But the more this government does, the worse it is for the American people. We shouldn't be joining hands with Democrats just to show we can govern or we can

get things done no matter how harmful to American people. Even if that leads to a partial government shutdown. Well, the government shutdown is not ideal, but it's not the worst thing. It would be worse to exacerbate the problem, to further increase our debt and our spending, to make our fiscal situation, which is unprecedented as it is, as you know, to continue to fund a government that's facilitating the border invasion. Why would we give Biden and Mayorkas billions and billions of dollars to keep doing this to the American people? The only leverage we have when we have one house of one branch is to be willing to say no, to be willing to. Yeah. And so that's the status of these discussions

right now. We'll keep you posted as we learn more. But you've got Donald Trump ordering MAGA Mike to block any bipartisan deals. The MAGA Republicans want a shutdown because they want to effectively harm the economy and harm our stability because they want to run on that issue. And they think that we'll all just be too stupid. You know, we'll be too stupid and we just won't see who's actually doing this. And then we'll conflate the chaos and just say the whole system's broken. So we need to bring in a dictator who could fix it. The guy who says I alone can fix it, Putin's buddy. That's what MAGA Republicans want. And here's the thing, folks, this isn't to me a democratic issue. This isn't I'm on the blue team. I'm on this. No, I just want compromise. I want people to get things done and Democrats and

a lot of Republicans, not the MAGA mutation, but a lot of actual Republicans and real conservatives want to get things done. But Trump and the MAGA group that controls the House and has about 16 to 20 MAGA Republicans in the Senate, they're doing this. They're inflicting pain on you and your family and all of us.
