Starting point is 00:00:00 Rinse takes your laundry and hand delivers it to your door, expertly cleaned and folded, so you could take the time once spent folding and sorting and waiting to finally pursue a whole new version of you, like T-time U. Or this T-time U, or even this T-time U. Said you hear about Dave? Or even T-time, T-time, T-time, T-time U. So update on Dave.
Starting point is 00:00:25 It's up to you. We'll take the laundry. Rinse, it's time to be great. Wow, Maga Mike Johnson, Republican Speaker of the House, is just losing all control. He's flailing after Friday, where he adjourned the House of Representatives once again, continuing to tell the MAGA Republican Congress member, stay away from the House, stay on vacation as the government shutdown begins to hit the date, which it will be the longest government shutdown in American history. Maga Mike Johnson was making his rounds on the various TV shows.
Starting point is 00:01:00 and media networks, and he spoke with the Wall Street Journal, and he was asked about the lawsuit filed by Democratic Congresswoman elect Adelaideh Grijalva from Arizona's 7th Congressional District against him and the sergeant-at-arms to swear her in so that she can function as an actual congresswoman after winning her election many, many weeks ago. They're refusing to swear her in, and Maga Mike Johnson saying, oh, well, that's just because the government shutdown. So we can't swear her in. Yes, you can. You've sworn other people in all the time in pro forma sessions and the government shutdown doesn't affect that. And by the way, you all caused the government shutdown. And the reason you're refusing to swear in Grijalva is because she would become the
Starting point is 00:01:41 218 signature on the Epstein Discharge petition, which would then result in the release of the Epstein file. So that's one of the reasons that y'all are continuing this government shutdown. But Maga Mike in this interview with the Wall Street Journal says, all right, Adelita, bring it, sister. Bring it. Bring it. Bring it. Sister? Dude to swear her in, you weirdo. What do you mean bring it sister? Here, play this clip. But here's the thing. I'm following the Pelosi precedent on this. They're saying that this is some sort of like constitutional, you know, a violation or something. It's a joke that the Attorney General from Arizona just wants publicity. She's lobbed on to this as well. Let me get her day in the sun. Bring it, sister. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:22 As Sahil Kapoor writes, Speaker Johnson is officially keeping the House in recess for another week as a Friday, with no sign of when it'll return. The house has not been in a regular session since September 19th, highly unusual. Never has happened really before. Adelita for Arizona, Adelita Griehalva, was elected on September 23rd and still hasn't been sworn in despite her repeated requests. As our editor-in-chief Ron Filipkowski writes, today Mike Johnson will keep the house adjourned for the 81st day out of the last 93 days, 12 days of work in over three months with full pay and benefits. The MAGA Republicans get full pay and benefits.
Starting point is 00:03:02 They did send $40 billion to Argentina and are importing Argentinian beef to screw over our ranchers as well. They get universal health care in Argentina, by the way, as 20 million Americans will lose their health care coverage very soon. Philip Kowski writes, the Senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown. Senate's been holding hearings. I've showed you some of those. it's about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files and Trump wants the government shut down. Trump doesn't want the government to work. For the past six to nine months, we've effectively been in a government shutdown anyway.
Starting point is 00:03:36 Now it's just official. So Maga Mike is then asked on CNN with Caitlin Collins. So if you have this health care plan that you're talking about, why not share it with people? So the American people can know transparently what's your plan? why don't you share what your plan is magna mike if you claim that you have a plan better than the affordable care act with the subsidies talk about it here's what maga mike says here play this clip but if you have ideas and you have plans why not have that out there to talk about in the public so so the people can hear that debate happening i mean you could have committees in session right
Starting point is 00:04:12 they will kate um talking about this i think the question yeah we need to get back to regular session so we can. No. No, we're not going to allow Chuck Schumer to play selfish political games and hold the American people hostage. We will not negotiate with legislative terrorists. We're not going to let them do that. We can't. We owe it to the people to get this government operating again. Republicans have now voted 12 or 13 times, counting the House and Senate, 13 times to open the government, and the Democrats have voted 13 times to close it down. It is wrong. There is no reason for it. So you're not going to share it with us until the end of the government shutdown, which is being caused by the fact that you're taking away health care from 20 million Americans. I mean, look, if you just want to listen to what Maga Republican Congress members are saying, they don't know what Maga Mike's even talking about. They don't know they haven't seen the plan. So even the Congress members saying, we'd like to see the plan. Right here, for example, is you have Mark Alford, Maga Republican congressman. He's asked on CNN. So do you know what Mike's talking about with the health care plan?
Starting point is 00:05:18 Here, play this clip. House Speaker Mike Johnson told our Caitlin Collins a few nights ago that Republicans have proposals to address the health care subsidies and that they could have them ready, quote, immediately. I mean, look, over 400,000 people in Missouri are enrolled in the marketplace. Have you seen those proposals that Speaker Johnson is talking about? What are they then? Enlightening. No, I have not. I would like to.
Starting point is 00:05:43 I'm coming back up to D.C. on Tuesday. to meet with my staff there and check in on them. We have been doing tremendous work in our district covering all 24 counties. I would like to... I will tell you this, Omar. I don't think the Democrats are serious about this. They are using this as leverage. They want the pain.
Starting point is 00:05:59 They want these statements to come out from the insurance companies come November 1st. We've heard from Democrats who see these states for health care. The Senate majority leader actually proposed to get this on the House on the Senate floor for debate and a vote. He promised that to them.
Starting point is 00:06:15 And they said no to that. So if you asked me, hey, Ben, what do you think is better than the affordable care? I would tell you there needs to be universal health care. That means health care should be free, in my view, to every Americans. And I think rich people should be taxed more in order to provide health care to everybody. That's my own view. And if these billionaires are writing checks for $138 million to fund six hours of payroll for the United States military, or if we see these billionaires spending tens and millions of dollars to, like, defeat
Starting point is 00:06:49 Mamdani or whatever, they clearly have the money in order to pay a little bit more taxes each so that everybody in this country gets health care and we won't have a health care crisis. So I believe universal health care. The alternative is Affordable Care Act, Obamacare, which has led to 20 million plus Americans getting insurance. Then you use the subsidies to lower the costs of the monthly premiums. Otherwise, it'll cost like $20,000 a year, which Americans can't afford if the subsidies are not extended by Trump and the Magas. And then you have, if you have a third plan, let us know. I mean, Trump has always said, oh, I'll let you know.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Remember the first term in two weeks in two weeks, or I'll lower prescription drug prices, 1,600%. Those aren't plans. You're not telling us the truth. Hey, everybody, Ben MySellis here from the Midas Touch network. I wanted to let you know about my podcast partner, Michael Popak's new law firm. It's called the Popak firm. Michael Popak's pursuing his dream of starting his own law firm, really based on the popular demand by all the Midas, Mighty, and Legal A-Fers who were approaching Michael Popak with their cases
Starting point is 00:08:00 and saying, can you help us? And at that time, Popak was not able to. So he went out on his own. He started the Popak firm where he is now. handling catastrophic injury cases like car accident cases, trucking cases, malpractice cases, big negligence cases, wrongful death cases. So if you or someone you know have a case like this, the consultation with Popok's firm is free. Give them a call. See if you have a case. It's the popock firm.com. The Popok firm.com or you can call 877 Popok A.F P-O-P-O-P-O-P-O.
Starting point is 00:08:39 okay a. So 1-877 P-O-P-O-K-A-F. Give Michael Popak a call. And I'm really proud of you, Popak. Thanks for all the hard work you're putting in. And remember back on December 8th, 2024, when Trump said, we have concepts of a plan. So maybe that's what you should have focused on in December of 2024. And maybe we could have had a plan now that we could be discussing with the American people. But all they want to do is destroy, just like the east wing of the White House. They just want to destroy. Here's what Trump said, play this clip. Replacing Obama for 10 years, and then he voted against, nobody understands it. Sir, you said during the campaign, you had concepts of a plan. Do you have an actual plan
Starting point is 00:09:19 at this point for health care? Yes, we have concepts of a plan that would be better. Still just concepts? Do you have a fully developed plan? Let me explain. And then Caroline Leavitt was asked, so what's the president's way he's going to stop rising health care costs. And Lev, it's like, we're not going to tell you until the shutdown's over. What do you mean you're not going to tell us? Like, what does that even mean? Like, we're, what's the point of what you're doing as a government if it's just to inflict pain? I guess that's what you think the point is. Here, play this clip. First is, we understand that the president and Republicans will not negotiate on ACA extensions
Starting point is 00:09:55 until the government reopens. If and when that happens, what does the president think should be, or what are his plans for preventing rising health care costs for your kids? It's a very good question, and I'll leave that to the president to negotiate that when Democrats vote to reopen the government. When it comes to lowering health care costs, the president is deeply committed to this. It's why he has spent so much time and effort negotiating with big pharma to lower the health care costs of prescription jugs. Well, then you have like this Pennsylvania woman who's explaining her situation. On average, health care costs in Pennsylvania will go up 103%. I'm 51 years old, a hairstylist. I've been doing hair for 32 years now. I would call
Starting point is 00:10:39 myself low, lowest, not even middle class. I knew cuts were going to happen in different areas with the government. I knew, but I didn't know they were going to take our health care. I mean, this is, this is big. So my plan without the subsidy right now is almost 600 a month. So if I imagine that with a 15% increase on top, I don't know how anyone in my income bracket can afford to absorb 600 plus a month for health care. I don't know. It just sucks. I'll go back to either being uninsured and paying cash out of pocket for doctor visits or medical. I saw the stat that this family in Colorado, that's, you know, making $83, $85,000 a year. They're going to see their health care costs go up $20,000 a year.
Starting point is 00:11:36 They're not going to be able to afford it, obviously. I showed you the clip right of the lady in Pennsylvania. Now, going back to Maga Mike Johnson, he lies and then says Adelaideh Grijalva should be working. Why isn't she working? She's got a staff. Here, play this clip. Rep. Grahava can work. Rep.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Grahava can work for her constituents right now. now, constituent services answering the phone. She has computers and 16 employees, and there's no excuse for it. Okay. With the Epstein files are being released, 43,000 pages now. There was another batch of documents dumped on Friday of last week, which included Epstein's personal ledgers, his financial ledgers, his daily calendar, his flight logs, all the things that people have been saying they wanted. It's all coming out. Why? Because the House Oversight Committee has been working through this period, even when we're not on the House floor, to go through and dig through the Epstein estate files and all the rest and get them out. So these are all distractions,
Starting point is 00:12:30 all distractions from the main point. They have shut the government down for political purposes, and we've got to get it reopened. And Adelaide de Griehalva made it very clear that he's a liar and that she can't. Here's what she had to say. Well, and you're talking about how, you know, when people call it, they still hear your dad's voice. And even on smaller things than that, logistical things, you can't get into Capitol Hill right now after certain hours because the shutdown unless you have a hill badge. I mean, that's where we're broadcasting from right now, but you technically could not be on set with us tonight because you can't come in to the Hill property this late at night. No, I can't. I could hit your ride with you maybe, but I can't go on my
Starting point is 00:13:07 own. I mean, even when, if you saw I joined the Democratic caucus and walked down Capitol Hill, I went, walked down, like we took the steps down and I stood there with them, they had to come, someone had to come get me from security i cannot get in without going through security i mean there are logistics and real things that come with being sworn in and even graciously the people that are trying to help me get my office up and going there's so many things that they know i can't do and then adelaida griha also pointed out that um once again speaker johnson shut down votes early and sent people home to avoid a vote on the epstein files here let's play this clip He shut down votes early and sent people home a week early to avoid a vote on the Epstein files.
Starting point is 00:13:51 So I do think, you know, more than anything, this was an issue that Trump ran on, right? Day one, I'm going to release those Epstein files. And by partisan. Yeah, people were very, I mean, it didn't matter what party. You're like, great. Because whoever committed a crime, whoever's implicated needs to deal with legal consequences to that. And the survivors need to have an opportunity to start to rebuild. their lives and put this behind them, I can't imagine what it feels like to continue to have this
Starting point is 00:14:22 issue front and center over and over again. And it's just like a wound that they can't heal from until, you know, there is justice for the victims. And then, of course, Maga Mike doesn't know anything about Donald Trump trying to pay himself $230 million from the Department of Justice because Trump claims he experiences pain and suffering from the 2020 election, play this clip. You said yesterday you were still trying to get the details of this $230 million the president has asked with justice to want the paper and bring the bills. Now that you've had some time left to get the details, are you okay with taxpayers potentially being on the hook for that kind of money? This, I'm not trying to dodge a question. I haven't had time to get the details.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Okay. That's still on my list, things to do list. It was yesterday was almost literally a 21-hour work day. Yes, sir. And then here's Maga Mike saying the Republican Party is the party of health care or the party to fix health care. Okay, well, you're not, but then just show us what your plans are here, play this clip. When the government dumps more money on a bad system, it makes it worse, and that is the reality. We have to make everybody face that, and then we've got to build the consensus around the solutions. We have lots of ideas. The Republican Party is the party ready to fix that, and we're demonstrating that every day. We brought down costs in Medicaid, and we strengthen the program in the big, beautiful bill, because we got ineligible
Starting point is 00:15:42 and roll these off the program, and we brought down the cost. It's going to save the CBO says the measures that we did in that bill on Medicaid, for example. We're going to save $185 billion. So they're good ideas, Joe. We just need time to work through the consensus to do it. But we've got to get the lights back on here. Again, we've got to open the government so that all of that can happen. You know, and I think that gives away the whole game right here. And look, even Marjorie Taylor Green is saying prices and everything are too high and insurance costs are too high right now. Here's what Marjorie Talley Green says. Play this clip. Food prices high, rent is high, home prices are ridiculously high, cars are high, auto insurance, home insurance, health insurance is insane, energy prices are high.
Starting point is 00:16:24 I can tell you that in my own electric bills. They're much more expensive than they were even a year ago. So you all judge for yourself. I'm just showing you the data points. Let me know what you think. Hit subscribe. Let's get to $6 million. We appreciate you watching. Want to stay plugged in?
