Donald Trump was massively fumbling the questions he was being asked about the government shutdown, which he appears to be giddy about and rooting for and saying a lot of good things can come out of this shutdown. We can fire everybody and we can have our way with the American people. It's really

despicable. So a reporter asked Donald Trump, but if you said Doge has been getting rid of all of the waste, fraud, and abuse, why are you going to use the shutdown as a way to lay off people? Why you're going to use it as a pretext to fire hundreds of thousands of people in the government? Again, Donald Trump just gives an absurd word salad response. Watch this. Here, play this clip. President, as we inch closer to you a government shutdown this morning, you said you might do a lot of layoffs. If Doge is already reducing the federal workforce, why is it necessary to link more federal jobs cut to a shutdown?

Well, the Democrats want to shut it down. So when you shut it down, you have to do. layoff. So we'd be laying off a lot of people that are going to be very affected. And the Democrats, they're going to be Democrats. As you know, we, this country, no country can afford to pay for illegal immigration, health care for everybody that comes into the country. That's what they're insisting. And obviously I have an obligation to not accept that. That would affect everybody. You know, when I see what we're doing with AI and all the plans that are opening up in the country, $17 trillion is coming. And if you compare that to Biden, Biden had

In four years, less than a trillion, we have 17 trillion more than that much. I think it's going to be much more than that, David, by the end of this year, I think it's going to be far up. And it's a record, it's already a record in eight months. And then Donald Trump brags that a lot of good can come from the shutdown. And he says, what we'll be able to do is kind of go after Democrats. We'll be able to go, you know, see, you heard him say that before. We'll go after the Democrats in the shutdown and make Democrats feel pain, especially those

Democrat employees here play this clip. I think it's going to be far over that. It's already a record in eight months. It's a record by a lot. And so we're doing well as a country. So the last thing we want to do is shut it down. But a lot of good can come down from shutdowns. We can get rid of a lot of things that we didn't want.

And they'd be Democrat things, but they want open borders. They want men playing in women's sports. They want transgender for everybody. They never stop. And they don't learn. We won an election in a landslide. They just don't learn. So we have no choice.

I have to do that for the country. Yes. As Democratic Congress member, Don Bayer writes, as he did during his first term, Trump again goes on TV to say government shutdowns are good. No, they are not good. Republicans and this president should go back to work and make a deal to stop a shutdown and prevent price increases for the American people. He's actually rooting for the shutdown.

And then Donald Trump starts talking about some blue 10. that was outside of the White House, like that they removed a blue tent? Like, that's what's on your mind right now as the government is just a mere hours away from shutting down. You're talking about a blue tent that you removed. What the hell is going on here?

it was a communist tent right see we're gonna have a communist mayor of new york so you know let's see how that works out and i've gotten a lot of feedback on that everyone's very appreciative yeah you told me about a blue tent and i said it's not i can't be there because we knocked him down but this was a very highly sophisticated group of people that had permits and all the other Well, the permit expired. We knocked it down. It took, what, 24 hours less, maybe? So I appreciate you telling me that.

No, we have a great thing. The country is doing incredible. We are a hot country. The hottest. We're the hottest country in the world right now. And then Donald Trump also brags that Linda McMahon, the W-Dub, the wife of the W-W-E founder, that she's making sure that she goes after education in Democratic states. We're taking it over from California.

And then you'll recall that earlier in the day during a prior Oval Office press conference, Donald Trump said that, first off, he says that they brought in $17 trillion in brags, which they did not bring in $17 trillion.

I want to see Democrats ask, if he brought in $17 trillion, where is it? Where's the account? Did you steal $17 trillion? Because it ain't showing up in the treasury. So where the hell's your $17 trillion? And then Donald Trump says that the good thing that they can do during a shutdown

is that they'll be able to do things medically to harm people. They will be able to do medical things that harm people. This is a sick authoritarian regime medically to harm people. You're boasting about killing people and saying that shutdowns are good. Watch for yourself. What went down here, play this clip. I told you, we have $17 trillion being invested. So the last person that wants to shut down is us now.

With that being said, we can do things during the shutdown that are irreversible, that are bad for them and irreversible by them. Like cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things that they like, cutting programs that they like. And you all know all know Russell vote. He's become very popular recently because he can trim the budget to a level that you couldn't do any other way. So they're taking a risk by having a shutdown because because of the shutdown, we can do things medically and other ways, including benefits. We can cut large numbers of people. We don't want to do that. But we don't want fraud, waste, and abuse. And, you know,

cutting that. And then you had another reporter, that same reporter who went from the AP, who asked a great question that you saw there, also said to Donald Trump, but you are aware, Donald, that it would be illegal, unlawful to fund the federal government fund health care for undocumented immigrants. That's not even allowed in the law. So how are you saying that Democrats want to fund $1.5 trillion for undocumented immigrants? if it's not in the law, Donald, and then this response to me is almost most telling of all because he just responds with words out, I have a bigger heart than you. Everybody knows my heart is bigger than your heart. Just watch, again, this shouldn't be a Democrat or Republican

or an independent issue. He's not answering the question because this is all a lie. Here, play this clip. Time for that. They're not eligible for the health care subsidies that Democrats are demanding. So can you clarify what are you talking about when you say Democrats want to protect their health care so when an illegal person comes in a person who came into our country illegally therefore breaking the law and look we all have big hearts I have a bigger heart than you do uh they're all breaking the law and they're coming into our country and we just as a country cannot afford to take care of millions of people who have broken the law coming in we want them to come into our country but we want them to come in legally now we have a strong border very strong border thanks

to Christy and Tom Holman and the whole group. They've done an amazing job at the border. I mean, we had a border that was reckless. We had a border that was a disaster. They were coming in by the millions. I say 25 million people. You're saying less, but I say 25 million people came in illegally. And no system can take care of the health care of all of those people that came in.

So while that was taking place, you have Brooke Rollins, the Agriculture Secretary, saying that Donald Trump's the most pro-farm president in history. history, but she goes that the situation with farmers is getting really bad and it's going to get worse. As we wrote on the Midas Touch account, why is the farm economy not in a good place, Brooke? Why is it going bad, Brooke? Didn't Donald Trump promise on day one the farmers were going to get rich and it was going to be a golden age? The only person who's gotten rich is Donald Trump make billions of dollars more and he's screwing over farmers, screwing over workers, screwing over the American people.

That's what's going down. Here play this clip. Commerce are getting a little angry, a little antsy here. It's pretty clear. They support the administration. They understand what's going on, but they're sort of caught in the middle.

China's specifically trying to hurt them in his terror war. So what should they expect from the White House? Well, thanks so much for having me on Charles. And I loved your introduction. I think it told the story perfectly for so long this country has been basically built on the backs of our farmers and our ranchers, the president. President Trump has been the most pro-farmor president, perhaps in our lifetimes,

perhaps in history. But this moment of uncertainty in the farm economy is real. And there are many reasons for that. Obviously, the ongoing trade negotiations with China and others, but it goes way before that. Under Joe Biden, the cost of inputs went up 30 percent. No new trade deals, which you showed in that chart, which was actually a great chart. It's pretty remarkable that in four years under Joe Biden, there was not one new trade deal. And we went from an ag trade surplus under Trump won to a $50 billion ag deficit under Joe Biden, and we're now just beginning to crawl our way back out of that.

But the times are changing. Listen, it is a golden age. It's around the corner, but this president on Liberation Day at the White House, when we were all watching when he announced this new tariff and trade world realignment, that it was going to take a little bit of time. But in that time, we've already struck seven or eight deals, Japan, the UK, the EU,

Indonesia, the Philippines. I mean, it is, I was in the UK two weeks ago, selling ethanol, supposed to be in Japan tomorrow talking rice and other rogue crops. We'll see what the government shut down if that happens. But it is going to be gangbusters. But right now, the farm economy is not in a good place. We're working around the clock. The president has committed to supporting our farmers. And we'll have an announcement on that very soon, likely next week. Okay. Then again, while that was taking place as well, you had Donald Trump's Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnik giving an interview with News Nation. And Howard Lutnik is asked, well, if you claim there's a manufacturing boom right now,

why have we lost 80,000 manufacturing jobs? And he goes, oh, that's not true. Donald Trump's just so great. Here, watch this. So you've already alluded to the national security interest in a lot of the reshoring of manufacturing that the president's tariff regime is designed to do. But some reports suggest that we've lost up to eight. 80,000 manufacturing jobs since the president took office. Walk me through that tension there,

that contradiction. Well, it can't be true. I mean, sure, the first day, you know, you walk in from the Biden administration and what happens on the next Friday, you know, they blame Donald Trump, which is silly, right? The tariff world is going to bring in the greatest building of advanced manufacturing, that this, it's not, it's not the country's ever seen. It's not even possible to scale. And then finally, you had Pete Hegseth lecturing the military generals about no more beards or long hair. We're not having Nordic pagans in the military.

Nordic pagans, what are you all talking about? Here, play this clip. This also means grooming standards. No more beards. long hair, superficial individual expression. We're going to cut our hair, shave our beards, and adhere to standards. Because it's like the broken windows theory of policing. It's like when you let the small stuff go, the big stuff eventually goes.

So you have to address the small stuff. This is on duty in the field and in the rear. If you want a beard, you can join special forces. If not, then shave. We don't have a military full of Nordic pagans. but unfortunately we have had leaders who either refused to call BS and enforce standards or leaders who felt like they were not allowed to enforce standards. Both are unacceptable.

And that's why today at my direction, the era of unprofessional appearance is over. No more beardoes. The era of rampant and ridiculous shaving profiles is done. Simply put, if you do not meet the male-level physical standards for common, combat positions. Cannot pass a PT test or don't want to shave and look professional, it's time for a new position or a new profession. So no wonder Donald Trump's approval is deeply underwater in the swing states. And no wonder Donald Trump's approval rating is in the tank in general.

And no wonder by about a 15 point margin on average and all the major polling, Americans are blaming Republicans and Donald Trump for this shutdown because they're giddy about it. They're giddy.
