The Republican Party of old is dead.
In its place is the fascist MAGA Republican movement.
And as with all fascist movements, one of the first things this new party has done is work to crush dissent. Anyone who dared disagree with their dear leader, Donald Trump and has embraced them with open arms. And at
this perilous moment, if you support democracy, we want you to join with us in this existential
fight. So we took to Twitter and asked this simple prompt. If you are a former Republican voting blue
due to MAGA extremism, tell us your story. And the replies we got blew us away and gave us so much
hope for the future of our country.
And today, we would like to share some of these stories with you.
But before we get into it, let's talk quickly about the media.
We've been disturbed by the mainstream media's knee-jerk reaction to both sides' democracy and fascism.
We've talked at length recently about the changes at CNN,
with Discovery board member and Trump donor John Malone now calling the shots.
And I'm sure many of you have seen the story about Politico's CEO who emailed his top executives
prior to the 2020 election and asked everyone to pray for Donald Trump's victory. Seriously.
That's why independent media is more important than ever. And at Midas Touch, we will never
waver in our support of democracy. That is our promise to you.
Many of you have asked how you can support our efforts, and today I'm excited to announce a
brand new way you could help this movement grow. If you go right now to patreon.com
slash Midas Touch, you can become an official patron of MidasTouch and receive exclusive content,
bonus podcasts, live streams, updates from the brothers, access to our private discord chat,
and so much more. And most importantly, you'll be supporting the fastest growing
pro-democracy movement on the planet. So go right now to patreon.com slash MidasTouch
and help us take this community to the next level.
Let's save our democracy together. Now, I'll let Ben take it away.
This has been my cellist from the MidasTouch network. Normal Republicans are being pushed
out of the GOP in droves. They are being labeled rhinos and traitors by a fascist MAGA movement that bears
no relation to conservatism. And many of these Republicans will be voting blue in 2022 during
the midterms. We asked our followers and those on Twitter if they have a similar story of being driven out of the
Republican Party because they refuse to pledge allegiance to the fascist MAGA movement and its
incompetent wannabe fascist leader, Donald Trump. We received thousands and thousands of responses.
I want to share some of those responses that are quite encouraging with you all.
And then I want to ask all of you to do the same, which is if you have a story or know of a story of a Republican who's no longer a member of that party because they've become a fascist movement. Tell us about your experience. And so the first one I want to
read is from someone named Acebell590. Yes, I'm a former Republican. I switched parties after
January 6th. I would have voted Democrat regardless of party registration, but I couldn't let myself
be a labeled part of the fascist party, even if in name only. My partner and 17 friends also changed
to Democrat. And then Mark Chichimo responded, had been an R, Republican, since 1970. I now
proudly display my letter from the state of New Jersey accepting my removal from the roles of that cult. This is from Christina Cunningham.
My husband and I were Republicans until 2016, both of us having been raised conservative Christian,
but we saw the shift happening in early 2016 prior to the primaries, finally switched our
affiliation before the general election, and have voted blue ever since.
This is someone by the name Learn to Think. I now identify as independent and will never
return to the GQP. We'll vote against ours down the ticket while Trumpism persists and pay much
closer attention going forward. And I think there are more of us out there than people realize.
Aurora Borlius, at feeling bewitchy, wrote, we used to be really involved in GOP politics.
My husband was even a national delegate in 2012. But these last few years turned us completely
away from the Republican Party. We used to believe that liberty aligned more with the right. This is from Let's Go Buffalo SEO. I voted for Trump in 2016, switched parties in 2020, and voted for Biden. I can't take back
voting for Trump and the damage to our country, but I can make up for it by voting for democracy.
The GOP will never have my vote again. This is from Eddie's girl, 1998.
E-girl, 1998. I was a Republican for 34 years, switched parties a few months ago. I want
nothing to do with the Republican Party. They have gone so far right that it's more of a radical
movement. This is Sarah at Booklavor. I never registered as a Republican, had been swing voter
most of my life, but because of my proximity and involvement with the evangelical church became more, quote, conservative over the last decade.
2020 forced me to reckon with beliefs and leave MAGA-influenced thought behind. So those are just a small sample, and we received literally thousands of responses like that and retweets and replies and quote tweets. company on YouTube in the world, we ask you, share your story. Share stories that you have from your
friends or people that you know in the comment section below. We'd love to hear from you.
And I am encouraged going into the midterms that people are really starting to see just how radical and extreme the MAGA movement is.
And it is never too late to leave the movement.

Groceries that over-deliver.
I know that there's probably people who I'm never going to be able to convince
and persuade. But when you really think about it and you really break down the issues,
other than try to ridicule other people and blame the problems on other people,
what policies does Trump actually offer? What policies do people like Greg Abbott offer?
What policies do people like DeSantis offer?
What policies actually that will help your lives and improve your lives are being offered?
Frankly, all they talk about is taking away your rights, taking away your freedoms, taking away programs like Social Security,
Medicare, trying to take away your health care, fist bumping each other and celebrating
when they do not allow veterans coming home to get health care for toxic burn pit exposure.
I mean, calling people on January 6th and the insurrection legitimate political discourse,
wanting to lock up and imprison Dr. Fauci because Trump's ego was so fragile that he refused to actually read the science and read
the briefs and spread all this disinfo about injecting Clorox and taking hydroxychloroquine
and taking horse tranquilizers and all of these things. And it's just like,
all we're trying to do here in this pro-democracy movement is to fight for people to have better
lives, to try to improve wages, to try to improve access to healthcare, to try to make
education cheaper and more accessible and more affordable to people out there.
And problems will always arise.
That's just the nature of the world. But do we confront
those problems? Do we try to pass laws like the Infrastructure Act if our infrastructure
is problematic? If we're having trouble with getting semiconductors from overseas because
all of the manufacturing has been sent overseas.
Do we just try to come up with slogans that will mock and ridicule foreigners? No. What we do is
we actually put an action. We pass the CHIPS Act. We actually pass an act that will invest in
America's semiconductor industry and bring jobs here. We're fighting for unions and working conditions and
making sure that labor gets better wages. These are not radical concepts. The radical concepts
are those being espoused by Trump, who calls the FBI monsters and mobsters simply because they were doing their job and executed a lawful search
warrant where they found top secret sensitive compartmented information that Donald Trump
stole from the United States government, putting your family's life at risk, putting my family's
life at risk, putting our community's life at risk. And you hear about it just across the country with all these MAGA Republicans and what they're
doing.
I mean, they can't even keep the lights on in Greg Abbott's Texas.
In Mississippi, the Republican governor can't get clean water or doesn't have enough water
pressure there.
You know, the Republican governor in Arizona sold off the water supply for an alfalfa
farm to the Saudis and gave the Saudis premier access to water when the risks of drought are
existential to the lives of people and just gave a sweetheart deal to the Saudis to take the water of Arizona.
These people know no low. There is no depth to the depravity anymore. And people are seeing through
the hate and the venom that these radical right extremists put out there.
And they're looking at the policies that Democrats have and saying,
there's really nothing extreme or radical about any of these policies.
Why is it that these radical extremist Republicans are calling out Democrats
and using these horrible words and horrible language?
And I think it is obviously part of the projection that is par for
the course with them. I mean, do you care about your life? I mean, what about your family's life?
Don't you think healthcare, we should make it more affordable? Should we make it more accessible?
Should we lower prescription drugs? I mean, Republicans are talking about what they're
going to do when they get into power is take away social security.
They're going to take away Medicare benefits.
They're going to raise prescription drug prices.
This is actually the policy that they are pushing for.
They're going to continue to have these draconian and dystopian laws that put the government in charge of your choice and your decisions. I mean, just like they overturned Roe v. Wade and want to arrest women for having their right to choose and arrest doctors, and
especially in all cases, including rape and incest. I mean, it's horrible. And they're going
next to LGBTQ+. They want the government to regulate who you can love. They're talking about interracial marriage they voted against. They voted against contraception. Current, right now, in 2022, they voted against contraception. Like 90% of Republicans voted against a bill codifying same-sex marriage, and they voted against a bill codifying Roe v. Wade.
They voted a bill that would even allow women to go across a state border to go to a state
where they allow abortions.
They voted against that.
They voted against the right to interracial marriage.
I mean, they voted against all of these things right now. They want the government to regulate all of that. That voted against the right to interracial marriage. I mean, they voted against all of these
things right now. They want the government to regulate all of that. That's radical.
That's extreme. And at the end of the day, when they talk about, oh, socialism, I mean,
the only type of thing that these radical rights support is they want billionaires to get tax cuts. They want a system where billionaires
can get their debt wiped away,
where they can get bailed out,
where they get all of these benefits
for their yachts and their private jets and all of that.
That's what they want.
And trickle-down economics, I mean, think about this.
I want you to really think about it.
How offensive is the very concept of trickle-down economics. I mean, think about this. I want you to really think about it. How offensive is the very concept of trickle-down economics that these radical right Republicans
support? The very idea that our policy is we need to give all the money to people who have the money.
Let's give all our money to billionaires. And then maybe, just maybe, the billionaires will
just trickle it down to us peasants. Maybe the billionaires will just trickle it down to all of the people.
And maybe we'll just get a little bit of droplet off the sweat of their you-know-what.
And we should just be thankful to the billionaire that they trickled it down to us.
Does that really make sense to you at all?
Really?
Or does it make sense that there are policies like the Democrats have that actually
put the money in the hands of working people, that put the money in the hands of the middle class,
and have middle-up economics, so that in order for us to actually start the engine of our economy
and get it roaring again, we focus on the people who are at the heart of that engine, which are the workers, right? And there's a reason why with a middle-up approach right now,
America's economy is growing faster than China for the first time since the 1970s.
And that the unemployment rate is lower right now than it's ever been before. Because when you focus
on people, workers, it really, really, really pays dividends
at the end of the day. So we'd love to hear from you. It is imperative that we continue to grow
this pro-democracy movement together. We have about two more months before the midterms. We're
going to be working every single day. Subscribe to the Midas Touch podcast. Hit
subscribe. That's a way you could help us. And share this with your friends, colleagues, and
coworkers, and anybody else. And share it with people who may disagree with your views. Let's
really have a serious conversation about what really matters. And let's also let these people
know who maybe thought they were Republicans their whole life that the Republican
Party is no longer the Republican Party. And a pro-democracy coalition of logic, of helping people,
of supporting workers, of supporting you is something that's actually being built right now.
And we want you to be a part of it. This has been my cellist from the Midas Touch Network. Supercharge our pro-democracy movement. We need you in this fight. And as the corporate media fails us, let's let independent media thrive.
That's patreon.com slash MidasTouch.
