I'm Ben Micellis from the Midas Touch Network. One of the things we were talking about here
on the Midas Touch Network before the midterm elections was the mass exodus of Republicans, independent voters, non-affiliated voters away from the MAGA Republican Party.
We're talking about people who rejected the extremism, the weirdness, the pro-fascism, the QAnon conspiracies, the pro-Trump cult, all of that that came along with what the Republican
Party has become today, the MAGA Republican Party.
And you know, the data of the midterm elections reflects that a huge amount of independent
voters and former Republicans and non-affiliated voters voted for the only major political party that supports democracy, the only pro-normalcy political party, the Democrats. their stories like we did before the midterm elections, where we asked people to share their
stories about why they were leaving the MAGA Republican Party. We did eight parts. We did an
eight-part series of that. But here, this is what we asked on our YouTube channel, on the community
page. We asked and we said, thank you to all the disaffected Republicans and independent voters who rejected MAGA extremism and joined
our pro-democracy coalition. Tens of thousands of you have shared your stories with us,
which we have shared in our mass exodus series. Now that the election is over, we want to hear
from you. So now I would just like to share some of those stories that we heard
of these former Republicans, independents, and non-affiliated voters who voted for Democrats,
who voted for democracy. So let's start off with Mark Nelson who writes,
I was glad to vote pro-democracy. The GOP no longer speaks for what Republican values we Big Blob writes,
Gary Wallace Jr. writes, I switched to Democrat years ago, but my Republican
disabled Iraq war veteran girlfriend voted straight Democrat in PA this year too. That's
great news, Gary. Remander writes, I've been a registered Republican since I could vote. I
volunteered on George H.W. Bush's campaign in high school. I no longer recognize
my party. I voted almost exclusively Democrat this year. Also voted against the Kentucky Amendment
2 that would have made all abortions illegal by the Kentucky Constitution. The current GOP
is totally out of touch. I don't think I'll change my registration yet. If Trump runs,
I want to be able to vote against him in the primary. Thanks Midas Touch for talking about
what other sites will not. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing, Remander. RH writes,
I used to be such a Republican. I named my daughter Reagan. Now I've been voting for Democrats since 2016. To paraphrase Reagan,
I didn't leave the GOP. The GOP left me. Hale Bugnish writes, as an independent that typically
votes a mixed ticket, I voted Democrat down ballot in every election since the 2018
midterm election and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Joe Herdig writes, I grew up in rural Kansas in a very Catholic and very conservative household.
My young life was a steady diet of church and Rush Limbaugh propaganda.
I'm almost 50 now, and for the first 20 years I was legal age to vote, I voted straight
Republican ticket. I had been
fully indoctrinated. I voted Bush senior, both times Bob Dole, George W. Bush, both times McCain
and Romney. But when Trump ran, I immediately picked up on that this guy was bad news. So I
voted third party. My upbringing wouldn't allow me to vote for any Democrat under any circumstance. After January 6th brought the
Republican crazy out of the bag, I switched my party affiliation from independent to Democrat
and voted a straight Democrat ticket. I don't like all of their policies, but we can debate
on policy. What we can't debate on is authoritarianism in America.
Rob Normandin writes, I was a Republican for my whole life until this election at 36 years old.
I even went to my high school Halloween party as George W. Bush.
Just couldn't take it anymore and voted blue all the way down the ticket.
Not that it matters in Massachusetts, but still.
Every vote matters.
And we're seeing that here in California as well. Whatever state you're in, make sure you vote blue.
Lee C. writes, well, she didn't leave the party, but my 87-year-old mother said to me yesterday,
anyone who votes for Trump has to be crazy. She voted for him twice. It's progress. I agree.
Someone by the name of me writes, I'm a non-affiliated party voter.
For the first time ever, I voted straight blue.
Bev writes, I was raised a Southern Baptist.
I grew up on a military base. My great-grandfather was a Confederate General Bernard Elliott B., commander, third-grade
army of the Shenandoah, who died at 36 shortly after being shot at the first Manassas bull run,
and is credited with yelling the following, form, form, there stands Jackson like a stonewall,
rally behind the Virginians. And I'm embarrassed to say I've always been a registered Republican,
but no more can I tolerate the Republicans' unpatriotic, obscene agenda. I am out forever.
Aaliyah writes, I'm independent. Well, in my state, I don't think technically you can be, but that's what I consider myself and typically vote
third party in presidential elections or for both Dems and Republicans, but mainly the latter.
This time voted straight blue after seeing the insanity of the MAGA Republicans and the
overturning of Roe.
Normally, I hate straight party tickets, but these are not normal times.
Vox Kine writes, I'm a right-leaning independent, and I hate that I've effectively had to become a single party voter ever since Trump and MAGA decided to take over the GOP and lose
focus on issues in favor of personal petty grievances.
I honestly don't
know if I can ever vote for a Republican again after seeing how easily they rolled over for
blatant lies and idiocy. Might not vote Democrat, but the GOP has a hell of a battle ever getting
another single vote from me. Discover the magic of Bad MGM Casino, where the excitement is always

And Michael Lava writes, I'm an independent voter who normally votes the issues. This cycle,
I voted for more Dems than for independent candidates. I wanted to be sure that Republicans lost by a huge margin.
Their message has been one of fear and intimidation.
Any party that can support and rationalize what happened on January 6th is not a party
for a strong democracy.
And finally, Joey Knuckles writes, I was a Republican until 2020.
The GOP's collective fealty to Trump
helped me see how full of shit they always were. I'm a blue voting independent now,
though I still believe some basic conservative principles, strong defense, fiscal responsibility,
et cetera. I'm done supporting Republicans. They literally almost ended our democracy. And one of the posts that
we made earlier following the midterm election as the results were coming in, and this is what we
said at Midas Touch, we said, we're about to hit Republicans hard with clean air and paying off
their student debt, with new infrastructure and affordable healthcare, by taking care of our vets and reducing
inflation, by strengthening unions and increasing wages, they're not going to know what hit them.
You know, when I think an important thing that we've always been talking about here is that there
is nothing at all conservative with the MAGA Republican Party. You know, they literally
rooted for the pandemic. They were pro-pandemic and spread conspiracies that killed hundreds of
thousands and millions here and abroad. Now, there's nothing conservative about supporting an insurrection to try to overthrow a free and fair election.
There's nothing conservative about being an election denier.
There's nothing conservative about believing in QAnon and spreading these QAnon conspiracies. There's nothing conservative about being in a cult
and anointing the most incompetent traitor,
the most dangerous force in our nation's history,
Donald Trump, to a leadership position.
It's just not a conservative value.
And one of the things we talked about too was the whole conservative
liberal dichotomy here has been thrown completely out of whack because of what MAGA Republicans have
done to our country. I said, look, I consider myself significantly more conservative than any of these MAGA Republicans, like by far.
I believe in conserving our democracy and I believe in conserving our institutions.
And as I've always said, do I think the Democratic Party is perfect?
Do I think they get everything right?
Do I agree with the Democrats on every single issue?
No, I disagree on a lot of
issues and that's perfectly normal and perfectly okay. But we can have legitimate and constructive
policy debates about how to make the lives of Americans better, how to actually make our country better and not talk about these weird QAnon conspiracies
and how strong Donald Trump is and all of this complete BS. You know, and I really do want to
give a shout out here to the independent voters, to the former Republican voters who left the Republican Party and who voted for Democrats.
As I've said, look, I think much of the credit in the 2022 midterms for the blue wall protecting and preserving our democracy needs to absolutely go to women and grassroots organizations and Gen Z who put in a ton of hard work. And without them,
I don't think this result could ever have been the case. But I do also want to give credit here
and highlight those views of these former Republicans and independent voters and
non-affiliated voters who voted with democracy here. And I think it's important now
that you share this video and comment below and share your story if you have left the MAGA
Republican Party and you voted blue for the first time or if you're now voting for Democrats in the
future while the Republican Party remains the MAGA Republican Party.
It's vital that we share these stories to let people know who are still stuck in that MAGA
Republican brainwashed world that there is this coalition out there, this unapologetically pro-democracy coalition of people like all of us who love
this country, people who really define what it means to be patriotic, and people who are
compassionate, who lead with love and lead with trying to make our country and our world a better place and a pro-normal
coalition where we want to spend time with our family and engage in hobbies and just do the
things we love to do without these radical right extremists spitting on us and spreading conspiracies and burning books and are taking control over a woman's reproductive rights and trying to use the government to say who it is that we can, for compassion, for humanity.
And those are the ideals that are so important to us here at the Midas Touch Network.

accountable to you. And I think these midterms have showed the importance of independent media where we can roll up our sleeves and actually do the hard work that the major networks and the both sides media and the pro-fascism media has completely failed and brought our country to a bad place. like Simon Rosenberg and Tom Bonior and Gen Z activists, I think were very, very important
to give those people a voices prior to the midterm elections and to help amplify their voice. So
