Starting point is 00:00:50 charge bet mgm operates pursuant to an operating agreement with iGaming ontario happy fourth of july mightest mighty let's get into it donald trump gave a fascist, bizarre and whiny speech over the weekend in front of a small crowd in Pickens, South Carolina. Yet the legacy media continued to normalize the event and spread Trump's easily debunked lies that it was a huge crowd. Let's face it, legacy media by and large is either compromised, lazy, or just not up to the task of confronting fascism today. The Trump-appointed Republican prosecutor David Weiss, who led the criminal investigation of Hunter Biden sent another letter, a second letter to MAGA Republican Jim Jordan and the Republicans in the House of Representatives stating again, stop it. Stop lying about him and stop spreading deranged conspiracies. We will show you the letter from David Weiss that he sent to MAGA
Starting point is 00:02:06 Republicans as these MAGA Republicans just lie and dumb lies every single week. And just as Donald Trump threatened Georgia Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find him the votes or else, Brad, bad things are going to happen to you. A report from the Washington Post this weekend described how Donald Trump engaged in similar conduct against then Arizona Governor Doug Ducey in 2020 and how Trump tried to use then Vice President Mike Pence to pressure Ducey, but Pence refused. And we know Pence has already testified before the grand jury with Jack Smith, so Jack knows. July 4th, gas prices have taken an unprecedented dip, the biggest drop in gas prices in 15 years. The national average for regular gasoline dipped to $3.55 a gallon. This as top
Starting point is 00:03:10 economists are generally in agreement that the United States is going to avoid a recession and enter a period of significant economic expansion, frankly, against all odds and against MAGA Republicans trying to bring us into a recession. So in sum, instead of fake stories about Trump's crowd size, how about we focus on real things like President Biden delivering for the American people? I'm Ben Myselish, joined by Brett and Jordy Myselish. This is the Midas Touch Podcast, 4th of July edition. Brothers, how are you? I'm doing well. Happy Independence Day, everybody. Hope everybody has some time off, some time to reflect, some time to really, you know, on this podcast, I want to take some time
Starting point is 00:04:01 to really discuss the true meaning of patriotism, not the performative BS that we constantly see from the right, but what it really means to be American and to strive to create a more perfect union every single day. Obviously, all of us here were very disappointed, although it wasn't unexpected, to see the Supreme Court rulings that were issued late last week. And we're not going to win every battle. We're not. We got to accept that. But what we need to do is we need to steal our resolve. We need to recommit ourselves in order to fighting for the ideals that we are all in this fight for. They call it a fight for a reason. It is the battle for the soul of our democracy. It's not easy. It doesn't take one election. It doesn't take two elections.
Starting point is 00:04:48 It takes years and years and years. And so we all got to be in it. We all got to be focused. But at the same time, make sure you get some relaxation on this 4th of July. Make sure it's okay a little bit to turn off the cable news. You got the Midas touch-its. That'll keep you going. Ben, you're rocking the blue today. I wish we color coordinated a little bit to turn off the cable news. You got the Midas touch-its. That'll keep you going. Ben, you're rocking the blue today. I wish we color coordinated a little bit here, a little red, white, and blue action. Jordy's got the white. I got the blue too. You kind of seem like the weak link here. Not on the same page. Yeah, but no one told me about this first of all.
Starting point is 00:05:19 It could have been the flag. It's just the brother thing. We could have been the flag. It could have been cool and pretty sweet. And here I am being the one that breaks the link here. We have commercial breaks. You could change. You could go a direction. I don't want to wear red though. I just don't know if it's something I want to do. But Jordy, how are you doing today?
Starting point is 00:05:37 I'm doing well. I'm doing well. I noticed a few people were surprised that we're going live tonight on the July 30th of July 4th. And what I say to that is there are three certainties in life, death taxes and the Midas Touch podcast live. We're never off. We're never off. No days off at the Midas Touch network. I'm pumped for tonight's show, brothers. Well, you know, look, one of the things that our data reflects though is actually we get a lot of people who watch during holidays and time off. And Brett, I think to your point, it's when people are with their family and they share the messages of, hey, have you heard
Starting point is 00:06:12 of the Midas Touch Network? No, I haven't heard of the Midas Touch Network. You know how legacy media is just gaslighting us and how we can see for ourselves that Donald Trump is giving a completely vile, fascistic, deranged, and weird speech in front of a small crowd. But you know how legacy media tells us that it's a big crowd and how Donald Trump took over, pick in South Carolina. You know how the large media networks do that? There's this network called the Midas Touch Network that actually looks at the event and tells us what we see. Wait a minute. So you mean they're reporting on like the news? Yes, it exists. That is my reenactment and scene of what takes place during, but that's why I think it's important that we do these episodes because as I looked at some of these headlines, like,
Starting point is 00:07:06 look, of course, you're going to see the headline from Fox about this event that Donald Trump held this weekend. They're far right wing. Everything they do is disinformation. They're like the equivalent of a Russian propaganda network. So you've got their headline, Trump draws massive crowd of at least 50,000 in small South Carolina town of 3,400. And then it goes police as though that's the source of this. So already my BS radar is up. A town of 3,400, you're telling me 50,000 people show up. Let me go and look at it myself. Wait a minute. That doesn't look like 50,000 people. Maybe at most that looks like 5,000. But let me take a look. Politico, you're supposed to be a legacy media. You're supposed to give me the facts, right? What are you talking about, Politico? The Politico headline, a legacy media. You're supposed to give me the facts, right? Well, what are you talking
Starting point is 00:08:05 about, Politico? The Politico headline, Trump takes over small city in South Carolina in a show of force. His appearance was a shot across the bow in a critical primary state with two home grown contenders. And as you read this article, this is as if you were like, AI, please come up with propaganda. Please come up with propaganda of pro Donald Trump propaganda. And this is what it says. Donald Trump built his 2016 campaign on the ability to pack supporters into arenas and fields in his first early state rally of 2024. He commandeered a small city, taking over the movie set like Main Street of a town of 3,300 in the hills of South Carolina on Saturday. Trump put on a show of force, not only in his stronghold of rural America, but an early primary state where he remains dominant. In front of a crowd, local officials estimated may have reached 50,000 people. Trump barged on
Starting point is 00:09:21 to the home state turf of two of his primary opponents, Nikki Haley and Senator Tim Scott. The size of Trump's audience, its fervor was the latest ominous sign, not only to them, but to DeSantis. In the concert-like atmosphere, with thousands standing for hours and dozens falling ill from the July heat. Trump appeared once again to dwarf the field. Quote, it was hardworking patriots like you who built this country. And it is hardworking patriots like you who are going to save our country. Trump told the crowd accompanied by a dramatical musical score. I mean, by the way,
Starting point is 00:10:06 have they ever been to a concert in their life? That is a conkers. This is honestly, like Donald Trump's team themselves could not have written a more glowing review of the Trump rally, which we could all watch for ourselves. We all have eyes. And I truthfully don't understand. And I like to think, and I don't know why I like to think this, but I like to think it's just incompetence, that it's just laziness at the end of the day. It's just taking the press release, taking someone's word for it and running with that story because it just really doesn't make any sense to offer such a glowing review. This narrative is just so outrageous.
Starting point is 00:10:49 And should we show the people what 70,000 people looks like? Because- Please. Yeah. I was going to show the next headline of what the local news said. Oh, the local news is even worse than the... Okay. Let's go there. You want to
Starting point is 00:11:05 show Greenville News? Yeah. This is Greenville News, the Herald Journal, which is basically the local paper because pickings, only 3,300 people live in pickings. So that's picked up by the Herald Journal. And this is what they said. Trump in South Carolina, tens of thousands pack pickings, more than 50 treated for heat-related illness. Notice how they frame the narrative, though, around strength, around size. How about, because we're going to break it down what was actually said during this event, how about focusing on it was the whiniest, weirdest, most deranged crap in the world. And Trump's like, I'm super smart. Aren't I a smart person? I would never make a bad call. My call was the perfect call to Brad Raffensperger.
Starting point is 00:11:51 I'm really smart. I'm super smart. Hey, you know, Jack Smith, thug, thug. It's the dumbest freaking speech in the world. So you're focusing on the crowd's eyes and then you are wrong on the crowd's eyes. Then the article basically says, former president Donald Trump didn't have to do much convincing to impress a hometown crowd of mostly Trump supporters in Pickens Saturday. Nearly 75% of Pickens County voters selected Trump over current president Joe Biden in 2020. So if the town is 3,300, that basically means it was about 2,000 people, just to put things in perspective. I love it. I love it, Kenny Stoll, a self-described blue-collar iron worker from Somerville, South Carolina, said of Trump's remarks. I don't think he lies to the people. He's true to his word and he don't back down. He fights for what's right. Trump
Starting point is 00:12:46 headline, the Pickens Day independence spectacular, blah, blah, blah. But here's the thing. It takes you like 11 paragraphs until you find out the truth when you actually have to look at this critically. This is what it says. Pre-rally estimates of 10,000 to 30,000 were made. First off, who the heck cares? Why is that a pre-rally estimate? Why is that even a news item? A pre-rally estimate. I estimate I will make a billion dollars tomorrow. During his remarks, Trump claimed the turnout was 75,000. Okay. And again, why put that if that's not true? Just because he says that? Okay. Then it goes, Beach said he needed to get an accurate count. That's one of the local police officials. Beach
Starting point is 00:13:39 said he needed to get an accurate account from the Secret Service before providing a final number. Around 11 a.m., a Secret Service agent told the news there are 5,000 inside the gate and approximately 10,000 still in line. So let's be very clear here. There were 5,000 people at that event, 5,000. So all of these numbers, 50,000, that, and by the way, the 5,000 smells like complete BS. Let's go back to the headline, Ben. Let's go. The headline is tens of thousands pack pickings. And then they, paragraph 11, they say 5,000 people are watching the event and we have photographic proof of it. Like it's, it's not like a secret. Like we have a picture of the crowd that is not tens of thousands of people. It is outrageous that the media just runs with this so uncritically and in fact just makes it this like poetry.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Like they report like a love poem to Donald Trump in this rally. It's absolutely insane. Let's show you. This is a concert-like atmosphere. Taylor Swift. If you want to know what 70,000 people look like, this is 70,000. Now go back to the Trump event. Trump event. No, wait. That's Taylor Swift. This is Trump. No, no, no. I know. That's what I'm saying. I'm doing the back and forth. Yes. Trump event. Now go to Taylor Swift. Okay. 70,000. This is what 70,000
Starting point is 00:15:06 people look like. Okay. You want to see a big crowd? This was an Obama event with 100,000 people. Let me show you 100,000 people in St. Louis for Obama. This is 75,000 people for Obama in 2008 in Portland, Oregon. Okay. That's what these numbers look like. And again, here's the thing. I am sick and tired of being gaslit by legacy media, local media. And Jordy, to your point, you're always like, speak, let them say it because people need to hear. And I always go to you, what do I say in every show? Yes. You're exactly right, Jordan. The media is like a football player that does an interception. It's like they're throwing it to the people to catch and see all of the disinformation.
Starting point is 00:15:56 And then the media is like, got it. It's actually a huge crowd. It's actually like, no, I'm watching it. This is crazy stuff. And then so when you actually go into the event, because if I were to write the event, I would first off say it was a small crowd and that the crowd size is far smaller than Trump's 2016 events by far, representing the fact that he is losing support. I would then say, let's focus on what took place before the event,
Starting point is 00:16:26 as not a single supporter could articulate any factual policy that Donald Trump stands for, other than to parrot the cult-like lines that he never tells a lie. Like here, this is an 11-year-old girl reminiscent of the imagery and the stories that we heard about Nazi Germany, where people were so brainwashed that they simply parroted everything they heard from their parents. Play this clip of the 11-year-old girl who says, Trump never lies. Why are you excited to be here? What made you want to come out? Because I love Trump. What is it that you like about Donald Trump? He only tells the truth. That's a big thing, right? Tell him the truth. By the way, that's Christina Bob, his lawyer. Yeah, Christina Bob, the attorney who was involved
Starting point is 00:17:22 in the whole documents case, is there interviewing people at the Trump rally because she- Oh my God. I was going to say she moonlights as a reporter for RSBN, but I think she moonlights as an attorney. I'm not sure which is the secondary job, which is the primary job. And then you have these people who constantly are speaking about grooming every single day, indoctrinating. They're indoctrinating your kids. You cannot let them indoctrinate your kids. And then they take their kids, they dress them head to toe in MAGA gear, in Trump shirts with Trump's face on it. And they go, tell the men what you like about Donald Trump. He never tells a lie. He's the
Starting point is 00:18:01 smartest, most incredible man that ever existed. And he's perfect and never lies. It's truthfully, this is, I mean, the whole movement is entirely projection, but when you see that, it is just so absolutely appalling. And then that mirrors the comments also. It's like, all these people are like zombies, right? They're all spewing the same exact propaganda all at the same time. So we read that article. It was either the Greenville or the Politico one before. And the supporter said what? The supporter said the same exact thing who was quoted. I like Donald Trump because he never, ever, ever, ever, ever tells a lie. Then you have that 11-year-old girl. Oh yes,
Starting point is 00:18:40 he's the most honest person in the world. Then you have another supporter before the rally also who says she loves Trump because he's the first politician to open her eyes to the truth. There's never been, there's never been a politician as honest as Donald Trump. Like people are becoming more involved, um, rather than they did before. And a lot of people's eyes are opening to what is more truthful and what's not. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Truth is a revolution right now. And that's not something that we've had in a long time. It feels good.
Starting point is 00:19:13 It's refreshing to think we're actually hearing truth from our politicians. Oh, yeah. OK, so just pure gaslighting. It's like these people are all just utterly brainwashed. It's truly deranged when you actually see it. And I think watching these pre-events, watching what the people are saying about the candidates is almost equally, if not more important than even watching what Trump has to say. Getting into the psyche of the people who support him, I think is very interesting.
Starting point is 00:19:40 And yes, of course, Donald Trump, the one purveyor of truth in the United States of America, everybody else is a liar. All the experts are liars. All the prosecutors are liar. Everybody's a liar, except all the Republicans, all the Republicans, except Donald Trump, who lies every fricking day. He's the guy who lies every single second. He's the one guy who is telling the truth. And then you really get into the psyche of these people. And you realize that this truly is a fascist movement. It goes beyond just ordinary brainwashing. These are people who are longing for the days of Nazi Germany.
Starting point is 00:20:17 You have this woman right here that says, okay, what should Trump do if reelected? What should he do on day one? Okay, if you went to a Biden event, you might get, well, maybe he'll push for universal healthcare. Maybe he'll find other means to wipe away my student loans, maybe free education, want to strengthen social security, make sure it's there decades from now for my kids, jobs, economy, you name it. But no, day one for this Trump supporter, they say that Donald Trump should, quote, put Biden in jail, then round up the deep state and, quote, take them to the train station. A direct nod to Nazi
Starting point is 00:20:59 Germany, what they did to the Jewish people in Nazi Germany. Here's this clip. What should President Trump do on day one when he gets back in? Lock him up. Lock him up, right? The deep state, take it down? Take him to the train station. Take him to the train station? I didn't say that. But the deep state's got to go, right? By the way, that's Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend. Just so you know, who are the people
Starting point is 00:21:31 asking the questions? You got Trump's lawyer under criminal investigation, Christina Bob, is somehow asking the questions for this right-wing broadcasting network. Next up, you have Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend who used to dress in drag all the time, who Marjorie Taylor Greene says he was having fun when he dressed in drag. But otherwise, unless it's her boyfriend dressing in drag, then it should be banned and criminalized. Brett, but what else happened? Yeah. Well, and then that's why it's so ridiculous. And it just shows you the performative WWE style element of all of this. When Donald Trump does these rallies, and he always has that moment at the rally, I'm sure everybody listening remembers, where he
Starting point is 00:22:15 points at the cameras and he goes, oh, they just shut off the cameras back there. They all just shut off the cameras on me. Fake news, fake news. CNN isn't there. MSNBC isn't there. The people who are there are Christina Bob, Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend. It's all the nagging networks. Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend is such a goofy thing. It's like- I mean, it's- And by the way, to that though, and then the legacy media, they won't report on the Trump supporter talking about rounding up peeps and taking them to the train station. God forbid they report on that. No, they're going to continue to carry the bucket and lie about the crowd size because they can't think critically. It's unbelievable. Yeah. They show the quote,
Starting point is 00:22:58 oh, Donald Trump, he's so strong. He gets me. He doesn't lie. That's the quote that they run in the paper. Anyway, Donald Trump fans, apparently, not the biggest fans of Lindsey Graham. And remember, this event was held in South Carolina, Lindsey Graham State. And Lindsey Graham did not get a warm reception, to say the least. And I think if you were watching the pre-show, so to speak, of this event, you could have seen it coming. Lindsey Graham was booed ruthlessly the entire time. Literally, he got up on stage, he was booed for six minutes straight. They booed him off the stage. They booed off the stage. But he was kind of the warning shot to Lindsey before he even went on. This is a Trump supporter who's bragging that, oh yes, Trump, he's the one who's exposing the deep state. But one of those creatures, one of those creatures is here right now. His name is Lindsey Graham. But first you got to expose the deep state and he's been working
Starting point is 00:23:56 on that. One of the creatures is here, Lindsey Graham. There we go. And the reason though, that they truly hate Lindsey Graham, despite Lindsey Graham selling his soul to Donald Trump, literally selling his soul, doing everything he can to suck up to Donald Trump. But Lindsey Graham supports Ukraine and he supports giving military assistance to Ukraine. And all of the modern day Trump supporters are Putin fans. So because they are all pro Putin and they want the United States of America to become a satellite state and be run by Vladimir Putin, that is why they don't like Lindsey Graham, Brett. I think that context is important. And Jordi, going to your point, this is already unhinged, three alarm fire crazy. We haven't even gotten into what went down in the event.
Starting point is 00:24:55 So the fact that those media reports are talking about crowd size just goes to show you how deranged it is. But why are they so focused on crowd? Why is Trump so focused on crowdsize other than the fact that he does it basically to, well, let's just say cover up his other very small, small, small things. The reason ultimately why crowdsize is important for authoritarians is to try to signal that they are bigger and more powerful than they actually are. Well, if there's 75,000 people and they are selling it out, it creates this air, this feeling of inevitability that this movement is so freaking big, it is going to crush everything
Starting point is 00:25:44 else. So you better jump on the Trump train or you're going to be on the other train is the messaging that they try to project. That's what authoritarians try to do. But it's dangerous to propagate those false messages because it's actually a dying movement. Most Americans are not like the person that you just saw and the people who populate this small event who talk about deep state creatures and we got to take the train. That's a very small percentage of our population. So fascism tries to overcompensate for that lack of true support by just making it up and hoping that convinces people to join in, Brett. Yeah, no. And then we get into the rally and the rally, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:35 just everything goes completely off the rails during the rally. And you have the usual suspects, right? You have, you know, Carrie Lake might like live with Donald Trump in, uh, in Florida, but Marjorie Taylor, but Marjorie Taylor green is Donald Trump's travel partner. Marjorie Taylor green travels with Donald Trump from, from state to state. Very, this whole thing is so fricking traveling fascist circus. And, and, and so it begins with Marjorie Taylor green. Uh, she's the warmup act. All right. You know, like comedians have a warmup act to like get people laughing and stuff before the main comedian comes on. Well, Donald Trump has fascist warmup acts who warm up the act with some light fascism that gradually gets more and more extreme, you know, just sprinkle some fascism. Let's get them in
Starting point is 00:27:20 the mood for some fascism. Right. So Marjorie Taylor Greene, of course, she goes back to the classics. They're going to be saying this in like the year 2170, I think. But Marjorie Taylor Greene goes with the old lock her up chant about Hillary Clinton. I kid you not, this is still going on at these rallies. And then we have Hillary Clinton, who was storing classified information. It never gets old. I mean, you realize that's like actually what Donald Trump did and what Donald Trump is being indicted for, right? And they're screaming, lock her up, lock her up about something Hillary was investigated for and was cleared of wrongdoing there. It's crazy that this is still going on. By the way, if they want to run on Hillary like they tried to again in 2020, let them. The compound interest of craziness just continues to show itself time and time again. Let them. Jordy loves the compound. Jordy, there's something up with your mic right now.
Starting point is 00:28:30 I'm not sure what's going on. It sounds like someone's tap dancing. Is there a tap dancer in your room? No, no tap dancing. I think you're plugged into your earphones and not your mic is what I think is going on. This is why it's important that we do soundcheck before the show, brother.
Starting point is 00:28:46 But so then Marjorie Taylor Greene, you have to then get the hate in there, right? You have to inject the hate. So Marjorie Taylor Greene brings up what all these MAGA people love to talk about now, which is Pride Month, right? They just love to find a marginalized group to hate on. So Marjorie Taylor Greene brings up Pride
Starting point is 00:29:04 and the crowd starts booing. Today is July 1st, but all last month was what the left refers to as pride month. God fearing people here and everywhere know the rainbow belongs to God. What are they even talking about? You know, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg had a hilarious line over the weekend where he called out Ron DeSantis. Ron DeSantis did this ad saying that Donald Trump is pro-LGBTQ, and the ad featured like oiled-up bodybuilders, right?
Starting point is 00:29:42 And Buttigieg was like, I'm not really sure why that's trying to show your masculinity doing a video montage of oiled up male bodybuilders. But it's like the most ridiculous video. But he goes, well, tell us though, what's your actual policy? Like, what is it that you are delivering to the American people? And I want to know that he's like, every day I wake up as the Secretary of Transportation, we at the Biden administration, try to figure out what can we do to make someone's life better? What can we do to improve people's economic circumstances? And all they have on the right is like, they're talking to you, making fun of rainbows, talking about Hillary Clinton, and it gets worse and it gets worse
Starting point is 00:30:31 from there, Brett. Yeah. Marjorie Taylor Greene then goes on more tangents about pride. I'll skip over that for now because I'll get to one of the fun parts of the rally, I will say, which is Lindsey Graham getting booed when he's announced. So here's Lindsey Graham getting booed. United States Senator Lindsey Graham. It's the Ducks and it's the Brawlers. A hundred strikes, a hundred stars. Thank you. Welcome to Pickens. Thank y'all for coming. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Thank you. Thank y very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you all for coming. Thank you very, very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks so much. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks so much. Thank you. So that went on for about six minutes. And throughout the entirety of Lindsey Graham Thank you. Thank you. God bless America. Bye. And he walks off the stage and everyone goes, boo, traitor, get the hell out of here. I mean, this guy must have, and I'm not kink shaming Jordy, don't worry, but this guy must have some sort of humiliation kink to just continue to do this over and over and over again. Imagine just giving away your entire reputation, every bit of dignity that you've had. Jordy's rattling again over there. Jordy, you're tap dancing. Jordy, is it Ben? Jordy's on mute. Is it a false accusation? That's a possibility.
Starting point is 00:32:37 No, it's not a false accusation. Here I'm talking. There's no tap dancing. Okay. Trump couldn't even save Lindsey Graham throughout this event. So Lindsey Graham is out there. He gets booed off stage. Trump comes on. Trump has to immediately do damage control for Lindsey Graham and they're still booing him. You know, you can make mistakes on occasion. Even Lindsey down here, Senator Lindsey Graham. We love Senator Graham. We're going to love him. We're going to love him. I know it's half and half, but when I need some of those liberal votes, he's always there to help me get them. Okay. We got some pretty liberal people, but he's good. He's good. We know the good ones. We know the bad ones too. We got some real bad ones,
Starting point is 00:33:25 but even he makes mistakes on occasion. And he's not referring to there like Lindsey Graham reaching across the aisle to try to get votes from the Democratic side. He's calling Lindsey Graham a liberal vote and calling basically anyone who's not full MAGA a liberal. Once again, moving the Overton window over to try to act like this MAGA, fascist, authoritarian movement, to try to act like that is the center. And that is the move that Donald Trump is doing right there. Then Donald Trump gets into his crimes. He's got to talk about his crimes at every rally. Once again, have you heard a single mention of policy? To Pete Buttigieg's point, have you heard a single
Starting point is 00:34:05 mention of here's what I want to do for you? Simply did not happen, doesn't happen. It's just a grievance show. It's just an authoritarian fascist lock-em-up hour. It is deranged. So here is Donald Trump saying that everything he did is covered under the Presidential Records Act. Jack Smith's a thug. Once again, everything is actually, it's the opposite of what the Presidential Records Act says is what he says it says. He's violated the Espionage Act. Donald Trump has been indicted and he's in a lot of trouble and he continues to lie to his base here. They go after me for the Presidential Records Act. Well, that's what they should be looking at, because everything I did was under the Presidential Records Act. We have a thug prosecutor named Smith, Jack Smith.
Starting point is 00:34:51 He's a thug. He's had many losses. He's destroyed many lives. And they put him in charge. In the meantime, what about Biden's records? This guy has one thousand eight hundred and fifty boxes. He has boxes stored in Chinatown in D.C. Rough place. You know, one of the things, too, as we hear Donald Trump spread these lies about Chinatown, one of the individuals referenced in special counsel Jack Smith's indictment to Donald Trump showed classified information to paragraph six B and paragraph 32. I'm just going off of memory there of the indictment. Donald Trump showed classified information in July or August of 2021 to a PAC representative. Turns out that individual
Starting point is 00:35:33 is Susan Wiles, works for a communications firm whose biggest clients are companies from China controlled by the government in China. Just putting it out there, Donald Trump paid more money and paid more taxes to China than the United States. Donald Trump got a $15 million loan from a China business person. So always, always, always projection. We have a lot more I want to show you with that video. But by the way, are you seeing these emojis? Also, I get a kick out of the Popok emojis. Everyone's like, we got to do emojis of all of these. I know, but the Popok emoji makes me smile so much right now. We will roll out Ben, Brett, and Jordy emojis. And if y'all are wondering in the chat, how do you get these emojis?

Starting point is 00:41:12 And also during the break, I want to give a shout out to the individual with the handle Graveborn who bought 50 memberships. That was huge. So thank you. Thank you so much there. Going back to this event, there's also this really weird moment in South Carolina in Pickens. Donald Trump just reflexively has to praise Vladimir Putin. And so one of the defenses that Donald Trump is rolling out about why he couldn't possibly violate the Espionage Act, even though he's on recording. Violating the Espionage Act is because he says Vladimir Putin
Starting point is 00:41:53 called him the most vicious president ever. But also Vladimir Putin really likes me. He really likes me. Play this clip. Charging a former president of the United States under the Espionage Act of 1917. Espionage, me, espionage. As Putin said, you are the most vicious president ever. There's never been a president that did this to me, and yet I got along with him, isn't it? I mean, again, when one of your talking points at your rally is getting along with Vladimir Putin and saying that Vladimir Putin thinks I'm a tough guy. Well, first off, even if Vladimir Putin said that, which I doubt he did, they are playing you like a fiddle, right? As Hillary Clinton said, you can bait this idiot with a tweet. She didn't use the word idiot, but that's exactly what she was saying. So when Donald
Starting point is 00:42:43 Trump would go abroad, if you wanted Donald Trump to do anything for you, all you had to do when he lands in the airport is just do one of those big authoritarian style billboards of him on a building when he lands, right? All you got to do is say, oh, you are so strong. You are so strong. We are so scared of you. And you go, see, I am. What can I do for you? What can I sell you? What information can I tell you? I mean, it is so utterly pathetic. And speaking about pathetic, this is the last clip I'll show from this event. But I want to make the point that this stuff is freaking crazy.
Starting point is 00:43:17 OK, this stuff, any one of these things is disqualifying. Yet you have legacy media reporting on it exactly the way we told you, like praising this event as though the crowds were big and Trump rallied and made it clear that he was the front runner. This is some crazy lunatic stuff right here. His base is dwindling. He's destroying the Republican Party. And what we're observing is pure, unadulterated fascism meets idiocracy. Here's the clip of Trump talking about the call where he extorted the Republican, let me repeat that, Republican Secretary of State of Georgia, Brad Raffensperger. By the way, Raffensperger recently met with Special Counsel Jack Smith.
Starting point is 00:44:04 That's a footnote. Play the clip. Copy of it. It was a perfect call. These were perfect calls. These were calls where you're questioning the validity and the safety of elections. And it's a disgrace that they're allowed to even think about it. But not one person protested until long after that call. And if there was something wrong with that call, I am not a stupid person. Number one, I'm an honest person, so I wouldn't do it anyway. But when people are on the phone, including many lawyers, do you think many people were on that phone? Many, many people. Do you think I'm going to say what they'd like to have? But the problem is it's not borne out. I will tell you what is borne out. The call was supposedly taped
Starting point is 00:44:45 in the state of Florida. And in Florida, you're not allowed to do, you know, that's a two-party state. In other words, you're not allowed to tape phone calls. They tape the phone call. To show you how nice they are, they tape the phone call, and you're not allowed. So that is the real crime here. They had a two-party state with somebody taping the call supposedly from Florida. First of all, there is a crime fraud exception to the two-party recording statute issue. Also, the phone call was not being recorded in Florida. And the big concern here is not the recording. It's that you are extorting a Republican secretary of state to find you votes to overturn a free and fair election. Let's focus on those issues.
Starting point is 00:45:35 But look, the media narrative that they all pushed was big rally in Pickens, South Carolina. If you picked up the paper and read about that. What'd you say? If you picked up the newspaper and you read about this event, you'd go, oh, this sounds like a great event. Sounds super patriotic. Lots of people there. I mean, look at this guy. He must be really popular, right? You wouldn't understand any of this craziness, any of this deranged behavior, any of the authoritarian references, any of the, let's send them on the trains. None of that stuff was in there. And it's just very dangerous to package it like that. And that's why I really don't like going after legacy media. But when they do things like this, you have to call it out because it is actually harmful. It is actually
Starting point is 00:46:25 harmful to our society to just let that go unchecked. So I think as part of defending democracy, you need to be able to also call out these lies, which are frankly going against democracy entirely. By the way, George is a one party recording state. I just looked it up. Not that it matters, but that's not the issue here. Ben, you guys see this as... And Jordy, I feel so bad that you can't speak right now, but Jordy, if I'm your favorite brother, say nothing. Yes, there we go. Perfect. Amazing. Thanks, Jay. It was Jordy's birthday this weekend, by the way, everybody. And maybe we'll have to get you... Happy birthday, Jordy.
Starting point is 00:47:03 We'll have to get you a belated birthday present, get you a new microphone. But happy birthday, Jordy. The Midas Mighty loves you and hope you had an incredible, incredible, incredible, incredible weekend. But moving on, a birthday gift, Jordy, in the form of an old clip of Donald Trump has resurfaced. And when you go back and you watch these clips of Donald Trump running for president, it is like he is speaking about his own indictment. It is like he is speaking about putting himself in prison because he was going after Hillary Clinton for her alleged mishandling of confidential information. Everything with Donald Trump is complete and utter projection. So here's this resurfaced clip from Donald Trump from 2016, where he praises the FBI, praises the FBI for their
Starting point is 00:47:54 investigations. Praises Comey. Praises Comey because they were investigating Hillary at the time. And he says, basically, if Hillary Clinton were to win the presidency, it would result in a constitutional crisis because you cannot run a candidate under felony indictment. If she gets indicted and she's under felony indictment, it would grind the government to a halt. Just watch these words and just understand the utter projection of this guy. There's virtually no doubt that FBI Director Comey and the great, great special agents of the FBI will be able to collect more than enough evidence to garner indictments against Hillary Clinton and her inner circle, despite her efforts to disparage them and to discredit them. If she were to win this election, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis.
Starting point is 00:48:57 In that situation, we could very well have a sitting president under felony indictment. I mean, his words, very incriminating, very damning. And I suspect that you'll see quotes like that also in the trial. When we go through with the trial of Donald Trump, you will see more quotes like that because it shows that he knew damn well that what he did was dangerous. He is speaking there to it. And it is just so ironic to look back at that. Look at the way he's praising the FBI, the agents, Comey, speaking about Hillary Clinton disparaging the FBI. How dare she say negative things about the FBI? It's truly like we are living in a bizarro world. It's unbelievable. No doubt about it. In other news, the Trump appointed prosecutor, David Weiss, he's the United States attorney from Delaware, which means he is the top prosecutor
Starting point is 00:49:52 in the state of Delaware appointed by Donald Trump, who President Biden, when President Biden won the election, it is the tradition that a new president basically fires all of the former top prosecutors appointed by your predecessor and you appoint new United States attorneys for each state. President Biden basically did that with all of the United States attorneys other than David Weiss. Why? Because David Weiss was a prosecutor investigating President Biden's son, Hunter Biden. So while President Biden was fully within his rights to fire the prosecutor going after his own son, President Biden said, I am going to leave Trump's prosecutor to go after my son. Not only that, but Merrick Garland told David Weiss, the Trump-appointed prosecutor,
Starting point is 00:50:45 you have full reign to do whatever you want to do, and you can bring this case in whatever jurisdiction you want to bring it. We will give you full authority. We will not veto you. You do not need to seek our permission at Maine Justice. Do whatever you want to do, David Weiss. Now, the MAGA Republicans know this. Why? Because David Weiss told them about it multiple times. In theory, the Judiciary Committee is supposed to engage in actual oversight where they can get the true facts, not just spread deranged conspiracies like Jim Jordan does. But even back on June 7th, before David Weiss entered into any plea agreement with Hunter Biden, David Weiss told Jim Jordan then, I have full control. When, how, where, why, you name it, I have full control.
Starting point is 00:51:38 Yet MAGA Republicans spread their latest fake whistleblower controversy. Oh, there is an IRS whistleblower, an IRS whistleblower who was saying that his efforts were prevented by David Weiss. Well, maybe the first question is when, because then we'd find out that the complaints arise when Donald Trump was in office and Bill Barr was the attorney general, number one. But in any event, temporal honesty and integrity means nothing to MAGA Republicans. But what if we heard from the Trump-appointed prosecutor himself on multiple occasions? Well, for the MAGA Republicans, that doesn't matter. They're just going to tell the lie that David Weiss, the Trump-appointed prosecutor, was compromised. And this whistleblower,
Starting point is 00:52:27 who basically is saying that his career advancement was prevented by the Trump-appointed prosecutor during the Trump administration, let's just let this random guy, let's elevate him, call him this serious whistleblower. And even though David Weiss, the Trump-appointed prosecutor, has written to us on multiple occasions, it would be a crime for David Weiss to lie to Congress. Unlike Jim Jordan, who's not a licensed attorney, David Weiss is a licensed attorney who is governed by rules of professional responsibility. You could lose a bar license and be prosecuted for lying and is not subject to any absurd congressional immunity that's abused the way Jim Jordan. Why don't we just see what David Weiss says in his own words? Okay. So this is why facts matter, folks. And when I have discussions with people
Starting point is 00:53:18 who may disagree with me politically, I go, this isn't like a political conversation. Like, this is Trump's appointed prosecutor. And this is what Trump's person is saying. At the outset, I would like to reaffirm the contents of the June 7th letter drafted by my office and reiterate that I'm not at liberty to provide the materials you seek. The whistleblower's allegations relate to a criminal investigation that is now being prosecuted in the district court for the District of Delaware. At this juncture, I am required to protect confidential information, but I will provide some general insight on two issues. And so one of the things that we learned is David Weiss was so pissed off at Jim Jordan and MAGA Republicans, he wanted this letter to go out before the 4th
Starting point is 00:54:05 of July. That's how livid he was. He goes, you're just lying about me. Here's what he goes. First, the Department of Justice did not retaliate against a, quote, internal revenue service criminal supervisory special agent and whistleblower, as well as his entire investigative team for making protective disclosures to Congress. Second, in my June 7th letter, I stated, quote, I have been granted ultimate authority over this matter, including responsibility for deciding where, when, and whether to file charges and for making decisions necessary to preserve the integrity of the prosecution consistent with federal law, the principles of federal prosecution
Starting point is 00:54:45 and departmental regulation. I stand by what I wrote and wish to expand on what it means. As the U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, my charging authority is geographically limited in my home district. A venue for a case lies elsewhere, common departmental practice is to contact the United States Attorney's Office for the district in question and determine whether it wants to partner on the case. If not, I may request special attorney status from the Attorney General pursuant to 28 U.S.C. Section 515. Here, I have been assured that if necessary, after the above process, I would be granted Section 515 authority in the District of Columbia, the Central District of California, or any other district where charges could be brought in this matter. Then it says,
Starting point is 00:55:39 I welcome the opportunity to speak to you at a later time. So here he's saying, I have the full control over every aspect of this. Stop spreading these lies and conspiracy theories about me. And again, let me repeat, this is a Republican prosecutor who Donald Trump appointed. You know how they go after, oh, the FBI director, Christopher Wray. Donald Trump appointed him. Donald Trump's appointee, Christopher Wray, who he said has high integrity. They go after Bill Barr now. Bill Barr, according to MAGA Republicans, is a rhino. People like Doug Ducey, rhino. Everybody's a rhino. I mean, Doug Ducey, who was like, remember Doug Ducey, who was, I remember this because I represent Colin Kaepernick. And at the time, I was representing Kaepernick as weekend that Doug Ducey, like in 2018 or something, was filmed wearing Nike shoes and Nike socks after he was like burning Nike socks.
Starting point is 00:56:51 But this is the guy who now Republicans say is a rhino. They say Barr is a rhino. And now in this new Washington Post report as well, Doug Ducey, we are learning, was also basically threatened by Donald Trump, same way Donald Trump threatened Republican Secretary of State of Georgia, Brad Raffensperger. And Donald Trump was using former Vice President Pence, then Vice President Pence, to do it as the conduit. Trump was doing it directly and using Pence. But Pence would go to Ducey and go, hey, I'm told to tell you this by Trump. I'm not going to do what Trump actually wants me to do for you. And he went to Pence because Pence was a former governor of Indiana and had a relationship with
Starting point is 00:57:37 Ducey. But now the fact that Pence has spoken to Jack Smith, we also know that Jack Smith has all of the goods on how Donald Trump tried to use Pence to threaten other governors like Doug Ducey. But look, when that indictment drops, the one on Trump 2020 election interference, I've predicted before, I stand by it, we're going to see hundreds of counts in that indictment. I think the wire fraud count alone and the money laundering count is going to be over 50 counts within that for each of these false messages that Donald Trump sent out to raise tens of millions of dollars or hundreds of millions of dollars lying to his supporters and grifting off of them. But big news there to report as well.
Starting point is 00:58:27 I mean, massive, massive news. Unfortunately, there's no recording, at least that we know of, for the Arizona phone call. But I think it's pretty safe to assume that it was probably pretty similar in tone to the Georgia call. There was this little nugget, if you remember, back during the 2020 election that I think is worth bringing up also. And many of our listeners may remember this. There was so much that was going on in the heat of the moment that you look back on now and you go, holy crap, I can't believe that happened. And we looked at it and laughed at it, and then we moved on to the next thing because everything was so crazy. But there was reports earlier in 2020 that Doug Ducey had changed the ringtone on his phone
Starting point is 00:59:10 to Hail to the Chief. And he changed the ringtone so that if Mike Pence or Donald Trump were to call him, Hail to the Chief would be the song that played so that he knew it was either the president or the vice president of the United States at the time. And there was this moment at the end of November in 2020, when Doug Ducey is literally in the process of certifying the elections in his state. He has the documents in front of him, the pen in his hand, and he is about to sign it. And the phone rings and this is on tape. And what song plays on the ringtone? Trump called him the moment he was about to certify the election. Trump was calling him that moment. And looking back on this clip now, it's extra prescient. It's very kind of just odd to look back on it. And it's funny too. There's a bit of comedy
Starting point is 01:00:06 to it because Doug Ducey looks at his phone, he ignores the call and he puts it down and then he signs the certification. I'll just, I'll kind of like narrate the clip for our audio listeners, but listen carefully here and you'll hear hail to the chief on the ringtone as Doug Ducey is signing the certifications. So here you have Ducey flipping through the documents. And you'll hear the phone starts to ring. And Ducey silences it. He puts the phone on the table. And then he signs it and certifies the election. I mean, that right there is a historic moment.
Starting point is 01:00:49 And what if he didn't know the previous reporting on that, that he had changed the ringtone to hell to the chief for Trump, you would have just thought, oh, his phone rang like during a moment, like if your phone is on during a podcast or know, but no, that was like an actually a pivotal moment, probably Donald Trump in his last ditch effort, trying to pressure Doug Ducey there. Don't sign it. Do not certify the election. Remember the most chilling statement that we learned from the January 6th committee also, at least in my mind, one of the most chilling statements that Donald Trump made to his folks, which was just say there's fraud and then leave the rest to me and the Republican congressman. That was his aim the whole time. Just you put out enough, you say that there's fraud, you don't sign your things, leave it to me, leave it to Jim Jordan,
Starting point is 01:01:38 leave it to these criminals in Congress. They will overturn this election. They will overthrow our democracy is what he was saying. And you're right, Ben, when these counts come down, I think they will be numerous. I think they will be incredibly forceful. I think these are going to be the most severe crimes that Trump is going to be punished for yet. And rightfully so. This is a, as we approach July 4th, for those listening, as it is Independence Day, this strikes at the very heart of our democracy. It is the most egregious crimes imaginable to American democracy, and it needs to be prosecuted, really, for us to be a country.
Starting point is 01:02:16 No doubt about it. George Santos was in federal court on Friday in connection with the 13-count criminal indictment for basically committing crimes his entire life, flying to Congress, engaging in wire fraud, engaging in fraud regarding unemployment benefits. At this five-minute hearing or so, the Department of Justice prosecutors out of the Eastern District of New York said that they have over 80,000 pages of evidence that they are turning over against George Santos. The next hearing in that matter is September 7th. These are status conferences. I would expect a potential superseding indictment as well, given the, I think, a lot more criminal information that they have on George Santos. My prediction, they're going to see if George Santos will enter a guilty plea to these counts. I think Santos is not going to do it. And then I think we're going to see a superseding indictment. That's just my prediction. But the counts that are filed alone are enough to put George Santos away for a very, very long time.
Starting point is 01:03:30 And MAGA Republican George Santos may do what all the MAGA Republicans do over and over again and say, it's a witch hunt. It's a witch hunt. They're all out to get me witch hunt, but he's going down and he's going down big time. Once this case goes before a jury, I would expect him to serve serious, serious jail time. And he's too big of an idiot to enter into a plea agreement. So that's where that's going down. We covered the Supreme Court rulings on Legal AF. We covered them on a bunch of hot takes. So I don't want to be redundant and repeat all of them all over and over and over again. But of course, there's the case, students for fair admission versus Harvard and North Carolina, which is basically being described as overturning affirmative action. And one of the things that I've said on the Midas
Starting point is 01:04:27 Touch Network on Legal AF, there really wasn't true affirmative action taking place anyway, other than the affirmative action of legacy admissions, which was clearly not merit-based. And what I mean by that is that if you go back to the case law, starting in 1978 in a case called Regents of California versus Bakke, the Supreme Court outlawed any type of quota system relating to affirmative action. Most people think affirmative action, they think quotas. You have to allow in this amount of minority students. But that's never been allowed. And then in 2003, Sandra Day O'Connor decision, Supreme Court in the case of Grutter versus Bollinger said, you can't have not only any quotas, but you can't have any point systems. So you can say SATs are worth 20 points. If a
Starting point is 01:05:17 minority applicant applies, they get five points. That is unlawful. So the only thing that was the law of the land as of 2016 in a case of Fisher versus University of Texas is that diversity could be one of many factors, just that colleges and universities can factor in diversity into their admissions decision because that benefits everybody. That's what all of the major U.S. corporations said in a brief. That's what the American Medical Association said, that if you don't have diversity in medical school admissions, it's going to result in people getting killed. Yet the Supreme Court said no.
Starting point is 01:05:55 Focusing on diversity as one of many factors is racist, is the same thing as segregation. That is what the right-wing six to three Supreme Court said. And so now though, we're seeing a lot of civil rights groups basically challenge legacy admissions and saying, well, if you're saying you're purely merit-based, which we know is complete BS, you have legacy admissions at all of these schools where the best students aren't getting in and it's just getting in based on connections to family. So that needs to go. So we've seen a lot of filings over the past 24 to 48 hours on that. But I wanted to be very clear because I think there were misconceptions
Starting point is 01:06:38 even about the affirmative action discussion. And then of course, there was the Supreme Court case, 303 Creative LLC versus Elinus, where just some made up web design company, which doesn't even exist, made up that they were upset at an email they received from a made up gay couple. It turns out the person who is attributed to having sent the email says, I never sent this email. I'm a straight guy. I've been married for 15 years. Why would I ever get a website done if I'm a graphic designer and from someone who's never made a website before? What are you talking about? You may be saying, did anybody pick this up? Yeah, the district court knew. That's why this case was dismissed. The 10th Circuit affirmed the district court ruling, but it got fast-tracked, relatively speaking. The case was filed in 2016, but made its way up to the Supreme Court. And the Supreme
Starting point is 01:07:30 Court, they were like, yeah, we don't really care about what the facts are. And just as a former law student, as a lawyer, as someone who believed the things I was taught in constitutional law about Article III standing and stare decisis and precedent and super precedent, to have this court just completely say, well, there's a 2016 decision, but we're just going to overrule our precedent just because, or to say, yeah, maybe a fake web design company with fake parties, but let's just play a game here and just say, hey, we're going to allow businesses now, this is what the ruling, that we're going to allow businesses open to the public just to discriminate against people, just knowingly discriminate, put signs on their walls saying basically gay people, we're not going to do
Starting point is 01:08:22 business with you, which would affect all groups, by the way. But the Supreme Court, based on fake people, made that ruling saying businesses under the First Amendment can discriminate. And then you have the case where the Supreme Court struck down Biden's student loan debt forgiveness in Biden v. Nebraska. And even there, the way the Supreme Court found precedent, like the state of Missouri created a corporation many years ago called MOHELA, like the acronym is M-O-E-H-L-A. That organization, which collects student loans and administers student loans, they didn't file the lawsuit. The state of Missouri filed the lawsuit. And the district court was like, well, if this corporation, Mohella, felt they're injured, maybe they can sue. But the state of Missouri
Starting point is 01:09:11 is just suing on behalf of some other entity. And then the Supreme Court basically said, well, you can't rely on the HEROES Act, which basically empowers the Secretary of Education to make a modification or waiver of student loans. They go, well, this isn't a modification and this isn't a waiver. This is something else. Congress, back in 2003, when it was talking about giving these powers to the Secretary of Education when it comes to national emergencies, they didn't mention COVID-19 and they should have mentioned COVID-19. They should have spoke to the issue of the emergency if they were going to make big changes. Because
Starting point is 01:09:51 just to say modification or waiver by the Secretary of Education isn't clear enough, sounds pretty clear to me. A national emergency, the Secretary of Education can do a modification or waiver of student loans. That's what the HEROES Act says. This isn't rocket science stuff. The way I broke it down, that's the outcome. And for the Supreme Court to basically say, no $10,000 to $20,000 of student debt relief, while PPP loans get bailed out for deca-millionaires and millionaires and billionaires and MAGA Republicans have took out PPP loans. PPP loans were indiscriminately given out basically to people because Trump filtered them through banks. Banks would make these connections with
Starting point is 01:10:51 their top clientele because they would get commissions on it and then it would be forgiven. The way that was administered was so chaotic, was so wrong, and all those loans were forgiven, but that's fine, but you can't do like a surgical student debt relief program? Makes absolutely no sense. And then you have reporters going after Biden and asking like the dumbest questions of Biden. Don't you feel that you've misled the American people? What kind of question is that? No, you have a radical right rogue Supreme Court getting these cases that are filed by Federalist Society groups in front of Trump judges, fast-tracking them to the Supreme Court, attacking a core constitutional precedent. And that's not Biden's fault at all. Zero Biden's
Starting point is 01:11:42 fault. And that's going back to the theme of this episode of, like, again, it's pure gaslighting over and over again by the media and by right-wing people, and we have to dispel that. Yeah. And for those who have student loans who are rightfully upset by the Supreme Court decision, there are still a lot of options for you out there to help you with your payments. I know they're lessening a lot of the penalties as well. They have a variety of payment plans that are income-based where some folks under a certain income threshold actually don't even have to pay anything monthly. So just for all the information, go to studentaid.gov. They have all the resources for you there. I know this is a really important issue to a lot of people. And I think whatever side of the student loan debate, student debt relief debate you stand on, I think we could all acknowledge that these student loans are incredibly predatory. And I know stories of people who have been paying their loans for like 10
Starting point is 01:12:47 years and they keep paying it off, but the interest is so high that they actually owe more now 10 years later than they did when they got the original loan because the interest rates are so crazy. And I think regardless of where you stand on the whole debate about relieving student loans, I think we could all acknowledge that that's pretty messed up and that we're taking advantage of kids at a very pivotal time in their life when we're trying to encourage everybody to get a higher education, to get jobs. And so, you know, I just, if you want to look at the resources, studentaid.gov is the website. I like that President Biden did though. He came right out and spoke about this issue right away. I think it was important because, like I said, this is a very personal
Starting point is 01:13:31 issue. It's like the Supreme Court just told everybody, you're now $10,000 or $20,000 poorer is basically what they told a lot of Americans. And so the White House announced this new proposal. They're trying to figure out now ways around this. And so they're pursuing a path which a lot of folks have tried to push them on even before they went the other route, which is to try to go via the Higher Education Act of 1965. They're acknowledging that this path is going to take longer and it would probably be a lot more targeted even than the original plan was because the on it, we'll share it with you, but keep your eyes out there. But there's other reasons to be optimistic out there in America, a lot of good news out there and things we have to acknowledge that also, people just aren't speaking about enough. And so we got a megaphone, so we'll use it. July 4th gas prices have dropped like to a historic amount in one year. The national average for regular gasoline dipped to 355 a gallon. That's a 37% drop from 487 a year ago. That's the biggest
Starting point is 01:14:54 gas price drop in a year in 15 years. I would say that's a pretty substantial drop. And we always hear about the high gas prices. We don't hear when the actual prices come down nearly as much. And also all those talks about recession, it was something that we spoke about on the podcast a lot when we were like, the indicators just... Nothing is saying that except for all these business channels, whether you're CNBC or Fox Business or even the New York Times, they're all pushing this narrative that we're about to fall off a cliff and go into a recession or a depression. But the jobs reports aren't saying that. The economic indicators aren't saying that. And now finally, all the big banks,
Starting point is 01:15:38 all the analysts are now acknowledging that we're not heading to a recession at all. In fact, we are heading towards a time of potential unprecedented growth in the economy. And the US continues to outperform every other nation in the G7, whether it's with inflation, whether it's with GDP. And that is not a mistake. That is by design. That is because of the policies and the bills that have been passed in this country over the past few years. CNBC said inflation is likely to fall faster than consensus expects. The economy is not sliding into a recession, but quote, sliding into an expansion and earning estimates are beginning to rise. And they raised the target for the S&P 500. You got even Goldman Sachs saying, we continue to
Starting point is 01:16:23 believe that core PCE inflation, that's personal consumption expenditures, will fall sharply this year. We lowered our core PCE inflation forecast for December 2023 to 3.5% from 3.7%. There's also this website called Truflation. And what they try to do is they try to parse the government data, but they also kind of have their own internal data of what's going on out there. And they try to say, okay, the government's saying that, but they think that their indicators are better than even the information that the US is actually at 2.22% inflation, which is actually lower than the government's reported inflation. And they compare that to the United Kingdom, which they say is at 11.11% inflation to just show you the disparity, the differences happening right now between the United States and other nations. Once again, not saying the US economy right now is perfect, not saying everybody
Starting point is 01:17:25 is doing fantastic, but these are absolutely incredible economic indicators that bode well. And it seems like this is the path that we should be on. This is the trajectory that we should be heading on as we approach the 2024 elections, as we head into the next year. And so I think this is super important. It's basically now what economists are calling near zero inflation. And a few months ago, you couldn't even imagine that that would be a thing. But the fact that we're now basically at near zero inflation, I think is monumental news. Hopefully it takes a lot of pressure off working families where every dollar counts. And I think that's a testament to all the work that has been done,
Starting point is 01:18:06 and it's important to acknowledge it. And I love seeing also, on another note, what Democrats could do when they actually have super majorities in states. And in Michigan, they finally got control of the state government for the first time in over 40 years. And what was their priority? It's not one of these Republican priorities where they're going to try to legislate away LGBTQ people or ban books or a lot of kids, a lot of families get by. And those are the kind of policies that I think we should all be fighting for rather than trying to legislate hate. Let's try to legislate actually things that help the American people. That's what I look for. And I don't care what your party is, but it's pretty clear right now where the priorities are. The Republicans in many states
Starting point is 01:19:01 have announced that one of their biggest priorities heading into 2024, and I'm not making this up, one of their biggest priorities is to end any sort of free lunch programs or free breakfast programs at school. That's their focus. That's their focus. They're like evil cartoon supervillains. Anyway, just wanted to fill you in on some good news as you head into this holiday. Everybody, I hope you enjoy this holiday week. Happy Independence Day. Try to take the good when we get it. There's going to be good days. There's going to be rough days. But I think we got an incredible pro-democracy community, which despite what these newspapers, despite what these blogs want to tell you about these tiny Trump rallies, The pro-democracy community is larger. The pro-democracy community is stronger. And we will continue to push ahead and get the policies passed that we all want
Starting point is 01:19:53 to really just better the lives of all Americans. That's what we are all in this for. Look, more people watched this live stream of the Midas Touch podcast than were at the Trump event in South Carolina. More people are watching this second concurrently than watch the Trump rally, like this second. And by the time this wraps and it goes through the motions, there will actually be more people who watch this stream than were at that Taylor Swift concert. If you want to put it in perspective, the 70,000 people, there'll be 100, 200,000 people ultimately who just watch this. That's not even including the listeners. So just think about that impact. Then think about the impact of if each of those people spoke to one family member, think of the impact. If each of you spoke to two family members, five family
Starting point is 01:20:42 members, think of the impact. Then because of you, we are reaching millions and millions of people and spreading these pro-democracy messages, which is why it's really at the end of the day, not about our voice and our numbers, but it's about you going home, taking this knowledge, spreading it, speaking to your friends and family, just as people. There's a human element to politics, right? This all affects us on a very personal level. And there is no better advocate for any of this than you listening to this. Just for my enjoyment, and I'm going to send it to Michael Popak, everybody, throw up those Michael Popak emojis. And if everybody's wondering how you can use the emojis, whether it's the Michael Popak emoji, the Jack Smith emoji, all of the exclusive emojis, become a member of our YouTube channel.
Starting point is 01:21:33 You click that dollar sign on the YouTube. You can gift memberships to people. You can ask to receive memberships. I'd love to see the day where everybody's not just a subscriber, but everybody is also a member. We don't have outside investors in the Midas Touch Network. So one of the ways we're able to build this independent media platform are through fun ways of kind of interactive engagement like the YouTube membership. So hit that dollar sign, buy a membership if you don't have it, buy other people memberships if you have one, request to receive memberships, no pressure
Starting point is 01:22:10 if you can. Also, I've seen people in the chat saying, I'd love to do a Zoom chat and meet with Ben, Brett, and Jordy. Starting point is 01:23:01 grateful for you to be that and help grow this platform. Again, no pressure if you can't do any of these things, because the best way you can help is just sharing these videos, spreading the pro-democracy message, letting people know over the holidays about the Midas Touch Network. As Brett said, if you just let one or two people know, that's the difference in the election right there that is the difference maker right there and then you can go on from there but i'll tell you you know me brett and jordy didn't really have a political background we were just back in 2020 just making videos you know one after the other and they resonated and so we built this platform brick by brick and i
Starting point is 01:23:41 promise you if we can do it you can do it And that's one of the messages that I always want to talk about. Also, Jordy would be very upset at me if I didn't mention the Convict 45 or Convict 45 pins and all the great stuff we have at store.midustouch.com.
