The mother had lost her job because she wasn't able to find adequate care for this autistic child. So she really needed some help with living expenses, paying some back bills. So I launched a GoFundMe to help support them during this crisis. And we raised about $10,000. within just a couple of months. I think that the surprising thing was by telling a clear story
Starting point is 00:01:37 and just like really being very clear about what we needed, we had some really generous donations from people who were really moved by the situation that this family was struggling with. GoFundMe is the world's number one fundraising platform trusted by over 200 million people. Start your Gofund me today at gofundme.com. That's gofund me.com. Gofund me.com.
Starting point is 00:01:58 This podcast is supported by GoFund me. It has been a terrible day for Donald Trump, some horrific economic news this morning. January layoffs surge to a 17-year high. Job reports never have been this bad since the Great Recession right around 2009 when Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. U.S. employers announced 108,435 layoffs in January alone. That's up 200,000. 5% from December and the highest January total since 2009. As economist Heather Long writes, the U.S. hiring recession shows no sign of ending.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Job openings fell to $6.5 million in December, and that is the lowest level since September 2020. The hiring rate remains anemic at 3.3% bottom line. Firms aren't even thinking about hiring right now. A new Fox poll that they just published shows that 72% of Americans feel the economy is in poor or only fair condition. That is not good at all. And Donald Trump was at a national prayer breakfast this morning while all of this was taking place, ranting and raving like a maniac, saying everything is amazing and saying that the 2020 election was rigged.
Starting point is 00:03:27 Here, play this clip. And I said, you know, this is a really smart guy. If I ever get this thing, I didn't get it, it wasn't easy, you know. They rigged the second election. I had to win it. I had to win it. I needed it for my own ego. I would have had a bad ego for the rest of the while.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Now I really have a big ego. The beating these lunatics was incredible. Donald Trump was also saying that in his recent trip to Davos, when he gave a speech there, like one of the worst speeches ever, he said, everybody who invited me said, why did we invite this guy here, play this clip? Sad thing. And I tell it. I went over to Davos. They invited me. And when I left, they said, that may have been the stupidest invitation we ever gave to somebody, Switzerland. But they have to, I just say it like it is. They're destroying their country. Their energy is ridiculous what
Starting point is 00:04:21 they've done. And the immigration was, I'm telling you, it's a, it's a place. where many of these countries are not recognizable, and I'd like to see them straighten it out. Very soon, it's going to be impossible for them to straighten it out. We have our director of... So you have that as a split screen, Donald Trump ranting and raving at a prayer breakfast, and then you have economists posting things like this.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Sobering data, sobering data from Challenger, that's the company that puts out that data, on the U.S. labor market, announced job cuts in January more than double year over year, hitting its highest level since the 2009 Great Recession. Most notably, these layoffs are occurring while GDP is growing at 4%, accelerating the decoupling of employment from economic growth, a phenomenon that if persists, has profound economic, political, and social implications,
Starting point is 00:05:21 meaning when people talk about the K-shaped growth, which means the billionaires are made. making lots of money while the everybody else is suffering right now. Also, the crypto market is crashing. Crypto has lost $2 trillion in value since October's 2025. The sell-off is deepening. It's been crashing every day. It's like dropped into the 60s. As the Kobiasi letter explains, it's absolutely insane what's going on in the crypto market. On October 6th, crypto markets hit a record high market cap of $4.3 trillion and today the crypto market is worth just $2.3 trillion losing more than $2 trillion worth of market cap in four months. Most of crypto's value is being wiped out. Now Trump's family company,
Starting point is 00:06:19 World Liberty Financial, bought crypto at an all-time high. They're dumping it right now. They've sold over $5 million worth of Bitcoin right now. I guess they don't understand that you buy low and you sell it high and make a profit. They buy high and then they sell low and they've lost a lot of money on that transaction as well. But that's typical Trumpian logic right there. Yeah, it seems like there's real systemic issues going on. Back to that prayer breakfast for a moment.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Donald Trump. talks about how when maga mike says the speaker of the house says he wants to pray donald trump's like can we just eat lunch let's play this clip you know mike johnson's a very religious person that he does not hide it he'll say to me sometimes at lunch sir may we pray say excuse me what happened lunch you know the other it's okay with me but uh he's a very religious person and he is popular and uh he's doing an unbelievable job So I think God is watching over you. God is watching over him.
Starting point is 00:07:28 I don't know about me. So I hang around with him because I feel I'm protected a little bit. And Donald Trump uses his speech at the prayer breakfast to attack Democrats. And again, I want to show you the split screen stuff. So you have Trump attacking Democrats there. Play this clip.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I don't know how a person of faith can vote for a Democrat. I really don't. And I know we have some here today. And I don't know why they're here because they certainly don't give us. their vote, I certainly know that we're not going to be convincing them to vote for a little thing called voter. That's supposed to be at a bipartisan prayer breakfast where Donald Trump is doing that. And the split screen is the report from CNN this morning that I, similar to what I'm sharing with you right now,
Starting point is 00:08:12 about the economic data. Here, play this clip. Breaking just moments ago, new data showing January was the worst month for job cut since the 2009 great recession. CNN senior reporter Matt Egan is joining me now. What else is this report telling you? Yeah, Sarah, look, this is a bad way to start 2026, right? Layoffs way up, hiring way down. So Challenger Gray and Christmas reports that during the month of January, U.S.-based employers announced just over 108,000 layoffs.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Now, that is roughly double January of 2025 and roughly triple the end of last year. In fact, Sarah, as you mentioned, this is the highest. since January 2009 during the great financial crisis. Of course, that was just months after the collapse of... And again, split screen, right? You had Donald Trump saying that he's never heard about children, mutilation of children, and he goes,
Starting point is 00:09:11 that's not even a word I would know about. I stopped mutilation of children. Donald, you have 38,000 references to yourself in the Epstein files. They may as well be called the Trump Epstein Files. Because you're at a national prayer breakfast, there are more references to Trump in the Epstein files than there is to Jesus in the New Testament, than there is to Harry Potter in all seven Harry Potter books.
Starting point is 00:09:38 But here's what Donald Trump says about child mutilation. Here, play this clip. And I stopped the mutilation of children. The mutilation, the word is mutilation. They mutilize, you know, the mutilation of children. and I stopped it. Who would think, if you said that 15 years ago, they'd say, what the hell is he talking? Is he crazy?
Starting point is 00:09:59 Oh, and also turns out that not only did Melania have a nickname for Gellane, Melania called Gilane G, but Gilane had a nickname for Melania. Sweet P. She called Melania her sweet P. We have more emails coming out or that we've been able to identify from the Epstein files. Sweet P was Melania's nickname. Again, split screen.
Starting point is 00:10:23 You have former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton posting the following to Trump and MAGA Republicans like James Comer in the House Oversight Committee. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says, so let's stop the games. If you want this fight, James Comer, let's have it in public. You love to talk about transparency. There's nothing more transparent than a public hearing. Cameras on. we will be there. For six months, we engaged Republicans on the Oversight Committee in Good Faith.
Starting point is 00:10:56 We told them what we know under oath. They ignored it all. They moved the goalpost and turned accountability into an exercise and distraction. So Hillary Clinton is saying she and former President Bill Clinton, you want to ask us about Epstein? You want to do a whole hearing on that? Let's do it. Let's do the Epstein hearing.
Starting point is 00:11:16 We will be there. Will Donald be there? I don't think so. Will Elon Musk be there? I don't think so. Although a federal judge did order Elon Musk to show up for a deposition in the Doge vicious destruction of USAID, which probably led to millions of deaths. Like, you do realize that, right? Like, I don't want to get lost.
Starting point is 00:11:37 That what Doge did is probably kill millions of children around the world by taking away their medicine and taking away their food and starving kids to do. death and their parents to death as well. We of course will be following the hearings with the Clintons as well. Also, split screens, right? This is all happening this morning. I'll do more fulsome videos on each of these vignettes as well. Pat tip to Democratic Senator Gallego of Arizona. He was cross-examining Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent about the Treasury Department getting prepared to send Donald Trump a check personally to Donald, paying Donald Trump $10 billion of taxpayer money, of our money, because Trump says that his tax returns were leaked, by the way, with 400,000 500,000 other taxpayers who are not suing.
Starting point is 00:12:38 And so Trump says that he's damaged $10 billion. And he sued the Treasury Department. And Besson says, oh, I'd write that check to him. I'm going to write. If Trump's DOJ says write Trump a check for $10 billion, you're stealing our taxpayer dollars? Like, we should all be outraged. He's stealing our $10 billion. Here, play this clip.
Starting point is 00:12:59 But if the president prevails in this lawsuit, he's going to be able to pocket that money. My question is, is the president, has anyone in the president's office, talk to you about this lawsuit in any regard? They have not. And the president has said he will donate the proceeds to charity. You may have missed that. So no one at all has discussed this to you whatsoever. No, sir, in the presence that he would. Have you received, I didn't ask any more questions.
Starting point is 00:13:23 Have you received any advice from Treasury's legal division about how to handle this potential conflict? This is a Justice Department matter. They represent Treasury in it. Have someone from the Department of Justice actually come and talk to you saying that this is their purview and you need to stay out of it? Who has discussed to you? What is your role in this? Our general counsel who's sitting behind me has told me that it is a. Justice Department matter. The Justice Department
Starting point is 00:13:47 defends treasuries and treasury and matters like this. Okay, so you have, has been discussed with you. Do you have any final say at all in the process of this? Or is the DOJ just going to instruct you to cut a check and or settle and you have no independence to actually make a decision whether or not the president
Starting point is 00:14:03 deserves $10 billion. Again, that is a DOJ matter. And so the DOJ will entirely make that decision if whether or not the president should receive $10 billion. You have no say at all. Correct. So you will just have to write the check if you were told to write the check. Correct. And you would write to check willingly if you were told by a DOJ to the president.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I will follow the law, Senator. Okay. I mean, I think for many of us, this is very simple. And I think if this had been happening in any other countries through the book, an absolute like a total shakedown of the American taxpayer, are you also? So one of the things that I proposed as well is, well, let's say there's 40,000 other individuals who are subject to a data. leak of their tax returns. If all 40,000 people sued for $10 billion, okay, that would be over $400 trillion. And then our entire government would go absolutely bankrupt if everybody did the same lawsuit. It's actually more people's tax returns got leaked. It's probably closer to a million people. It was a data breach with other people aren't suing. But if everybody else sued for $10 billion,
Starting point is 00:15:12 do the math, do a million people suing for $10 billion. dollars. Do it as a class action. Trump's suing for $10 billion? Maybe I sue. Maybe you sue for $10. We all sue the government. Why do we all sue the government for $10 billion? That would be nice, right? That would be great. Are they only going to pay it out to Donald?
Starting point is 00:15:31 38,000 references to Donald in the Epstein files. I'll leave you with some good news. Let's go to split screen. Let's go to Virginia, where you have their Senate pro temporee. the leader of their Senate, Senator Lucas, along with their speaker of the House Speaker Scott, talking about how Virginia is now officially putting forward their 10-to-one map redistricting, 10-to-one map in favor of Democrats. Donald Trump's gerrymander backfiring in his face.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Let's play this clip. Give me more seats. Then that's not enough. So he calls North Carolina, Missouri, Ohio. I need more. I need more. Today we are leveling the playing field. These are not ordinary times
Starting point is 00:16:16 And Virginia will not sit on the sidelines While it happens We made a promise to level the playing field And today we're keeping our promise. Our maps are ready, Virginia is ready. We said 10-1 and we're in it. And we are proud to deliver a map That stands up for democracy
Starting point is 00:16:32 To stand up Virginians, to stand up and give us a horse. He started this mess and Virginia is going to finish it. Virginia to the rescue. Senator Lucas said it best. We've been working really, hard to make sure that we got this delivered. This is about leveling the playing field. Across the country, Republicans are gerrymandering maps to override the will of the voters. We just saw it in Texas, North Carolina, and Missouri. At Donald Trump's direction, they're
Starting point is 00:16:57 manipulating election maps because they know they can't win on their agenda in 2026. So instead of changing their ideas, they're trying to rig the system. A 10-1 map levels of playing field, and we're ready to move forward. They will make good on our promise by releasing the map publicly. We're going to get them released either by the end of the day or early tomorrow. We'll get those maps released and putting them out in the open and allowing them to be debated the way they should be in a democracy. We're going to leave it up to Virginia voters. Maps are ready. Virginia's ready. And that's the bus center that said it many times. 10-1. 10-1. Thank y'all. Appreciate it. Before 5 o'clock? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Then I'll share this with you finally at the beginning of the National Prayer Breakfast, Democratic Congress member Jonathan Jackson gave the opening speech. Watch this. Let's play it. Today we pray for the future of this nation and that you would lead this president into greater levels of compassion for your namesake. We pray that you would protect him from the iniquities of evil and that you would give him greater clarity, greater courage, and greater capacity to do what is right in the forever challenges. Today we remind him that the lives of millions of people are in his hands and that he has the power to turn mourning into dancing or to reduce the country into cosmic elegy of chaos and suffering.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And it is because of this that we pray that the best of this president would rise among us for the sake of this nation, for the sake of this world. We pray that goodness and mercy would announce themselves in his life in new and powerful ways. We pray that he would be mindful of the poor and that the good and that he would be invested in the elevation, the alleviation of suffering happening on farms in the Midwest, in the families preparing to bury their loved ones in Minneapolis. Remind him that we are all Americans, all made in the image of God, and that none of us are free unless all of us have, our freedoms protected.
