I'm Ben Mycelis from the Midas Touch Network. Donald Trump has issued a response directly and
through a spokesperson to the release of the audio tapes that are referenced
in special counsel jack smith's criminal indictment against donald trump regarding that
july 2021 meeting where donald trump meets with ghost writers for mark meadows autobiography
and shares with them and shows them classified records and says,
hey, I'm showing you classified records right now that I shouldn't be showing you because I
didn't declassify it, but doesn't this show you that I would win any case against the chairman
of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley? Isn't this so cool? Take a look at these classified
records. These are the war plans. These are war plans that the United States military has. I shouldn't be showing this to you, as CNN exclusively aired the tapes.
And by the way, Donald Trump's response, because everything he says is projection, at least leads me to speculate at, let's just say, a very high level that Donald Trump may be the source of the leak of the classified of the audio tape regarding the classified information because
remember special counsel jack smith had just turned over all of the recordings and photographs
and grand jury interviews to donald trump's lawyers at the end of last week and now all of a sudden the
recording is leaked to cnn and donald Trump is now posting about it and then
accusing the DOJ and FBI of leaking it.
Cause you know,
he always accuses everything of what he is doing,
which by the way,
would be a violation of the court's order if he did.
But here's Donald Trump's response.
He goes,
the deranged special prosecutor,
Jack Smith, working in conjunction with the DOJ and FBI,
illegally leaked and, quote, spun a tape and transcript of me, which is actually an exoneration,
rather than what they would have you believe.
This continuing witch hunt is another election interference scam.
They are cheaters and thugs.
I mean, the audio recording is the exact opposite of an exoneration.
Look, we've seen the transcripts before of the audio recording of this meeting back
of July 2021 when Trump met with these ghostwriters.
But hearing it on the CNN exclusive, like hearing the audio, was a whole other experience.
Having Donald Trump and his staff member, Margo Martin, just sitting there mocking,
laughing as they were showing war plans and just sharing classified information,
imperiling our country and making a freaking joke about it to basically strangers.
They showed it to anybody, it would be horrendous.
But the whole context of this is, it is horrific.
It is horrific.
This was the statement by the Trump spokesperson
after the release by CNN of the audio recording referenced in
Special Counsel Jack Smith's indictment.
The spokesperson states,
The audio tape provides context, proving once again that President Trump did nothing wrong at all.
The president is speaking rhetorically and also quite humorously about a very perverted individual, Anthony Weiner,
who was deep inside the corrupt Clinton campaign, the media and the Trump haters once again
were all too willing to take the bait, falling for another Democrat DOJ hoax, Hook, Line, and Sinker. I mean, the level of gaslighting and propaganda and
disinformation is at a whole nother level. It's Kim Jong-un style crap right here. I mean,
you're talking hook, line, and sinkers, how you are feeding these lies and crap to your MAGA base.
We have the audio recordings.
Anybody who listens to those audio recordings and goes, yeah, that's normal.
I'm okay with that, is deeply problematic.
Here I want to show you, this is the reaction by attorney George Conway, former Republican,
and he's responding to the audio tapes. I think he
puts it into good context here. Play this clip of George Conway after the audio tapes were released.
Play the clip. Just sociopathic. I mean, this man has no respect for rules, no respect for the lives
of other human beings, no respect for the country, no respect for the constitution,
no respect for his duties. He is a sociopathic criminal, and this is just another nail in the
coffin of, it's just another thing that's going to put him away. Yeah, I just played the video
of the former president last week to Brett Baier downplaying these documents, calling them articles
and newspaper stories. Yeah, he's a liar. He's just lying. What's so interesting about this is how, I mean, this is what he has continually done, which is,
you know, he lies, creates a story, and then that story gets debunked. And then he creates a new
story based on the information that's out there then. And he, because he can't stop himself from
speaking, he'll give an interview with that new story. And then that gets debunked. And then he'll
come up with a new story. Right. And no, it's a totally, I mean, I once wrote a semi-humorous piece in the Washington
Post when this first came out last year about, you know, cookies. And he's saying he doesn't,
he doesn't have the cookie jar. Oh, you put the cookies there. The jar is mine. The cookies are
mine. And he just, you just, the story changes from moment to moment to moment. I mean, it's like,
it's like the narcissist's prayer, which is if I did it, I didn't do it. If I did it, you made me
do it. It was okay anyway. I mean, you just, he just, he just, the endless lying and he just,
it's like an onion. You just peel, you peeled his lies and you get more lies.

This was him.
This was the Defense Department and him.
We looked at some. This was him. This wasn't done by me. This was him. This was the Defense Department and him. We looked at him.
This was him.

All sorts of stuff.
It's pages long.
Wait a minute.
Let's see here.
Look at that.
Isn't that amazing?
This totally wins my case, you know.
Except it is like highly confidential
this is secret information
look at this you attack
Hillary would print that out
all the time
she'd send it to
Anthony Weiner
the pervert
by the way isn't that incredible
I was just saying because we were talking about it
and you know
he said
he wanted to
attack Iran
and what
he said
this was done
by the military
given to me
I think we can
probably
right
I don't know
we'll have to see
yeah
we'll have to
try to
figure out
see as president
I could have de less yeah no i
can't you know but this is yeah now we have a problem isn't that interesting yeah it's so cool
i mean it's so i'm look we here and i have and you probably almost didn't believe me but now
you believe me it's incredible right no hey bring some uh bring some cokes in please and as i listen
to that i'm reminded of this interview that Trump's former attorney general, Bill Barr, gave the past few days where Bill Barr's like, our country can't be the therapy session for a very troubled man like Donald Trump.
Play this clip.
You say Trump's alleged conduct is indefensible.
So many Republicans continue to defend him.
What will it say if the party, your longtime party, puts him forward as their nominee?
Well, that's the problem. I don't think they're actually defending his conduct,
but they are saying it's unfair to prosecute him. But that then raises another question. Okay,
if it's unfair to prosecute him, that's not the whole answer.
The question is, should we be putting someone like this forward as the leader of the country,
leader of the free world who's engaged in this kind of conduct. The other thing is, this is not just an isolated example.
Trump has many good qualities and he accomplished some good things. But the fact of the matter is,
he is a consummate narcissist and he constantly engages in reckless conduct that puts his political followers at risk and
the conservative and Republican agenda at risk. Would he put the country at risk if he was in
the White House again? He will always put his own interests and gratifying his own ego ahead of
everything else, including the country's interests. There's no question about it.
This is a perfect example of that. He's like a defiant nine-year-old
kid who's always pushing the glass toward the edge of the table, defying his parents to stop
him from doing it. It's a means of self-assertion and exerting his dominance over other people.
And he's a very petty individual who will always put his interests ahead of the country's,
his personal gratification of his ego. But, of his ego. But our country,
our country can't, you know, can't be a therapy session for, you know, a troubled man like this.
And here's former Trump White House lawyer James Schultz on the Trump tape. Play the clip.
Does that full context of the tape, as you hear all of it,
change anything for you in terms of the strength of this evidence for the special counsel? No, really, if anything, it bolsters it, right? If this evidence is admissible,
and I imagine that they're going to try to challenge a number of different, on a number
of different fronts. I'm not sure where they make their argument here to exclude this evidence,
but if it is admissible in court, it's certainly troubling for their defense, at least for Trump's defense in this.
I mean, it bolsters the government's claim under the Espionage Act.
It also bolsters their claim, you know, under the obstruction case.
Because, you know, one of his, one of the things he's been saying all along is that he could just, you know, wave a magic wand and these documents are declassified. And in this instance, in his own
words, he's saying it's not declassified. So that's very troubling for him, no doubt about it.
And I think the big question is going to be what comes in at trial under the Classified
Information Procedures Act. Is this all going to be admissible? Probably so.
And it's going to be a big hurdle for them to get over. And there you have it, folks. That's why
it's important for us to just show you the recording, compare it to what Trump's saying,
give you some additional context, and you decide for yourself at the end of the day.
Because ultimately for me, again, this isn't about Democrat, Republican. It shouldn't be like
that at all. We as Americans should all come together and listen to that and be repulsed
and be disgusted. Because there's nothing more anti-American than listening to what Donald Trump
did on that audio recording. And by the way, I'm sure he did that every single day. We just happened to have that
audio recording because his staffer, Margo Martin, recorded it. But if he was willing to do that with
basically strangers in July of 2021 and say, hey, isn't this cool? How cool am I? Aren't I better
than General Mark Milley? Think about what he would do when he would see MBS, the leader of Saudi Arabia.
Think about what he would do when he would see other people that would visit him and he was
engaged in transactional relationships with. Think about that. This is disgusting, disgusting
stuff here by Donald Trump. And it's so un-American, so anti-American. We'll call it out together.
