People seem to have forgotten that courage is not just a virtue, it's actually the prerequisite for all of the other virtues.
If America is in need of anything right now, it's bravery. And our newest podcast, America's Forgotten Heroes, is here to provide some.
It's available now wherever you listen to podcasts, so go subscribe and leave a five-star review if you like what you hear.
Starting today, America's Forgotten Heroes boasts seven action-packed episodes that will drop daily, each featuring a man who never attain.
widespread notoriety, despite saving America at some of its darkest hours.
Each of these men exhibited such courage under pressure. It's hard to believe they even existed.
Which is exactly why you will love hearing their stories. America's forgotten heroes is a trip
that takes you back in history to a time where language wasn't violence, where brave men
paid in blood for the freedom that many used to complain about microaggressions and pronouns today.
One of these men is Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, a college professor turned violent.
volunteer soldier for the Union Army and the Civil War icon, according to historians.
Better known as the Lion of Little Roundtop, Chamberlain's most famous accomplishment was during
the Battle of Gettysburg, where his regiment was stationed at a critical position for the Union
Army's defense and suffered multiple attacks from Confederate troops. Knowing that they would not
be able to withstand another Confederate attack, Chamberlain decided to launch a bayonet charge at Confederate
soldiers, a bold, risky, and effective maneuver that secured the Union Army's victory at Gettysburg.
His story isn't the only one. Ernest E. Evans was a World War II naval officer who fought in the
Battle of Sumar. During the war, a small U.S. Naval Task Unit was ambushed by a large Japanese fleet
of 23 ships, hell-bent on destroying the American Navy. Though almost completely unprepared,
Evans and his men managed to attack the Japanese forces in one of the greatest last stands in naval history,
and in the face of almost certain death.
Here's the trailer for America's forgotten heroes, if you need a little convincing.
Hi, everybody, I'm Bill Whittle, and I'd like to introduce you to seven men who have made this country so exceptional.
John Paul Jones, who sailed home from war 129 years after he sailed into it,
Frank Luke, the World War I fighter ace who drew his sidearm in a desperate situation.
Booker T. Washington, a man who came into the world as someone else's property
and who left it with a foolproof formula for racial harmony.
Jimmy Doolittle, the perfect combination of brains, guts, and skill running up his engines a long way from home.
Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, a man so profoundly wise that he could see the great wheel of history revolving around him in real time.
Ernest Evans, a U.S. Navy commander who's vowed to never run away from the enemy,
triggered the most amazing two hours in U.S. history and Dick Rutan,
combat pilot, test pilot, and the man who nailed the last standing record in aviation history
with a little help from his baby brother.
These are America's forgotten heroes.
And if you join me, I guarantee you will come out of these seven episodes
as awestruck, proud, and grateful as I did.
It's just something about the way Bill Whittle says it.
I don't know.
There's some, it's real, I can't wait.
I mean, I always love Bill's series, and this one probably more than any of them.
It's really great stories.
