Republicans are Nazis, you cannot separate yourselves from the bad white people. Growing up in the 90s, I never thought much about race. That is the question that has implausibly come to dominate our political discourse in the final weeks of the 2024 presidential election. Liberal politicians and journalists, such as David Muir, say that they do not.

Haitians, however, say that they do. Like this second-generation Haitian-American in a video reposted, by Elon Musk. My father immigrated from Haiti to the United States in the late 60s as a teenager. And I want to talk about these recent comments about the Haitians in

Springfield, Ohio. He wasn't eating people's pets and he didn't practice voodoo. But he did say that most of the island, the majority of the island, does practice voodoo. The reason they eat cats is for two reasons. Number one is survival. This is

the poorest country in the western. You can't just go to a food bank like you can here or just go to McDonald's and get some free or cheap food unless of course there's a Christian missionary there. People in the United States have a really hard time imagining that type of thing, but it is true. Second, they do do animal sacrifices for their religion, voodoo. They make these animal sacrifices to these gods for different reasons. You can do your own research on this. Do I think voodoo is a demonic religion? Yes. I. I do. That doesn't mean, obviously, that doesn't mean that you hate these people. These people need prayer. But you can't just take over all these people from another country and expect it to work. Not to mention, it doesn't fix the problems of that country. And there's more people left in Haiti that we can bring over.

It's not racist to acknowledge that this is a problem. The political nerd class hated that President Trump brought up Haitians eating cats at the presidential debate. I disagree. I disagree with their revulsion. This is one of Trump's greatest political skills. He can translate complex, frequently dry policy issues into vivid images. He did the same thing on the same issue, actually, and was met with the same response by the Beltway types in 2015, when he called illegal border crossers, murderers, and rapists. The libs engage in the same semiotic process when they describe illegal aliens as dreamers. And Trump is saying the reality of illegal immigration is a nightmare. Figuratively, Trump's picture of unvetted migrants as cat-eating criminals gets closer to the

truth of mass migration than the happy go-lucky dreamer picture painted by Democrats. It's no surprise to me then that it might well be literally true as well. I'm Michael Noles. We want all the votes that we can get for Trump. And then Trump has just made a big announcement about whether or not there will be a third

She obviously doesn't eat cats and dogs and she doesn't practice voodoo and she's Christian. But do some of these people, unvetted from a failed state where there is rampant cannibalism and ubiquitous voodoo, do these people eat cats and dogs?

TikTok is weighed in. One of the top trends on TikTok right now I am reliably informed by my Zoomer associates. is this remix of President Trump's debate comments. I love it. They're eating the cats. Eat the cat. Eat the cat. They're eating the dogs. They're eating the cats. Eat the cat. Eat the cat. They're eating the cats. They're eating the dogs. Eat the cat. Eat the cat. Love it. Totally love this. I was discussing this yesterday with my friend Jack Posobic on his show. And he raised the question. He said, this trend going around TikTok, all the zoomers dancing around to eat the dogs, eat the cats, is this good for Trump?

Is this pro-Trump or is this anti-Trump? And that's the wrong question. This is the kind of question that you'll hear in elementary poetry classes. You know, what does the poem mean? People don't really read a lot of poetry anymore. I like poetry. But they'll look at a poem and they'll say, okay, what's the hidden meaning? But that's not what poetry does. The reason that good poets, write poetry, is to convey meaning in a way that it cannot be conveyed in an essay or in a book or in a tweet. It's just a different way of communicating. And it reaches the body in different ways. It plays on your senses in different ways than, say, an essay would. It's not, with poetry, with images, with music, you're not.

It's not just an elaborate or ornamented way of dressing up some meaning that could easily be written in a few bullet points on a napkin. It conveys its meaning in the best way that it can. That's why the poem has to be a poem and the poem isn't going to be an essay or a tweet or something. The same thing here with the dogs and the cats and the dogs and the cats. What does it mean? Is it pro-Trump or anti-Trump? It's just a meme, man. It's just a meme. People don't scroll through memes so that. that they can decipher the hidden secret meaning.

They just, the memes just kind of delight you. And I think that's the experience people are having. The zoomers who are dancing to this and the many, many, many more people who are watching these reels and these little TikToks. You watch it and you kind of laugh. It's just kind of funny. It's delightful. You have a sensory experience of surprise, of humor, of delight.

And then you associate those things with Trump. Trump is the medium of those experiences. That's how it works. It's not playing on a totally rational level. Music doesn't play on a totally rational level. Plato wrote about this in the Republic. This is why he said we've got to be careful about what music we listen to because it bypasses the reason it goes straight into the soul.

And frankly, I strongly suspect this is what inclined Trump to bring it up during the debate at all. The nerd class cringed, they didn't want him to talk about the cats and the dogs. If he was going to talk about mass migration, they want them to use dry, boring statistics and Excel spreadsheets. That doesn't reach people. That's not how Trump – I talked about this on the show yesterday. That's not how Trump made the immigration issues such an important issue in 2015 and 2016. He didn't cite a bunch of lame numbers.

He talked about murderers and rapists crossing the border. He painted a picture for you. And it worked. That is the moment of the debate that's probably gone the most viral. And what's the consequence of that? If there is a downstream political effect, it's going to be people realizing that Trump is not, you know, Hitler 2.0. He's just kind of, he's like a funny guy, you know. Hitler wasn't that funny. I don't think. I don't know. I'm not totally familiar with Hitler. But I don't, he was always screaming and banging the lectern. Trump is a funny guy. And when you're laughing at a joke that someone tells you, it's hard to think that that person is, you know, Hitler 2.0 and is going to overturn the whole country.

So it takes the wind out of the sales of the Democrats' argument that this man poses an existential unique threat to the Republic. And it gets you talking about migration. Wait, why are we talking about Haitians eating cats and dogs? Oh, because Kamala Harris and Joe Biden flooded 300,000 of them into a small town that didn't ask for these migrants to be placed there, where they're wreaking havoc in this town, where they're crashing cars into school buses and buildings, where it looks like some animals are going missing, that they shouldn't be going missing. and now all of a sudden we're talking about mass migration again, which is bad for Kamala, it's good for Trump. What is the underlying reality here? Well, despite the politicians saying, well, we haven't seen any credible reports.

We haven't, yeah, you haven't investigated very much either, have you? We don't consider the people who've brought these suggestions to be all that credible. Okay, well, we've heard from people in and around Springfield who have said that the Haitian migrants are creating a lot of social problems there. you don't need to look very forward. This stuff is on video. Here's just one man talking about what the Haitian migration in Springfield has meant for the community. You know, the homeless problem. I don't know of a single homeless Haitian in this town because they all got vouchers.

But I can show you a whole bunch of people that have been displaced because I'm that guy. Rob, you know, for 25 years I've worked with the homeless in this community. You know, a lot of people don't know because I'm not the guy out there blowing the horn because it ain't a me is the Jesus in me that goes out there and does it. Trust me, there's days I'm tired. But I'll get into homeless camps that nobody in a suit and tile walk into. None. They trust me because I've never let them down, you know.

And guys, if you don't think it's here right now, in October, we are getting ready to hit a wall here. There is not any relief for the homeless. the homeless people in this community are not the people you think they are. This is amazing testimony. I encourage you to watch the whole thing. For those of you who are just listening, this is a guy with a big white beard,

backwards baseball cap, wearing overalls. He's got an American flag sticking out. This is a patriotic guy. And he's calling attention to this problem that was foisted on us intentionally and consistently by Democrats, up to and including the one who's currently running for president. and Kamala Harris. And he's complaining about this issue. He's not, it's not an idle complaint.

It's a productive complaint. He's saying, we need to do something about this. And he's doing it from the perspective of the homeless in town. So the Libs will tell you, oh, we're the defenders of the poor and the downtrodden and the homeless. And he says, no, I work with the homeless. I go out there all the time. Some days I don't want to do it, but I do it. I'm impelled by charity because the man is obviously Christian to go out there and do it. He says, the people who are being hurt by mass migration. It's not the billionaire class. It's not rich uncle panty bags. It's people who don't have very much. It's homeless people. Homeless Americans are being hurt. People who are on the street, people who are addicted to drugs, veterans who are dealing with psychological problems after they

serve their country. The lower middle class, the poor, the working poor, they're the ones being hurt by this. It's an amazing testimony because it reflects this political realignment. You've got the Republicans and the conservatives speaking for the people that the Democrats pretend that they speak for. They're showing, no, you want to pretend that we just have to help these poor Haitians, and we need to fly them into our country and ship them into this small town. And we need to take care of them. He says, I don't see any Haitian homeless people around here because you Democrats give the Haitians vouchers to go. have nice housing. What about for the Americans? You're going to give the Americans nice housing?

What about the veterans who are on the streets? What about the people who are addicted to drugs and dying from drug addiction because you left the border open and you let poison pour into this country like fentanyl? What about them? You don't seem to give a damn about them, but you'll fly foreigners in from all over the world and you'll treat them much, much better than you treat your own citizens. That is a powerful message. And we are only talking about that today. Even the establishment media has had to talk about it a little bit. We're talking about that because Donald Trump mentioned cats and dogs during a presidential debate. Pretty good political rhetoric, if you ask me. The housing problems, when you import this many people that's going to drive up the cost of housing.

There are going to be labor problems that come about as a result of that. It's going to drive down wages for some people. it's going to make the labor market much more difficult to navigate for some people, for some Americans. Also, it's going to undermine your sovereignty. Also, it's going to undermine the integrity of your elections. Now, the minute I say that, I know that the Democrat activists who watch my show every single day and who subscribe to the Daily Wire to do it, they're going to start writing their headlines. Michael Knowles spreads misinformation, false news, fake news, about, illegal aliens voting in elections.

It does not happen. This is not real. It's a calumny. Okay, well, I'm not the one who said it first, at least. What do you make of this news report? aired on a CBS affiliate. An undocumented woman from North Alabama has pleaded guilty to voting and passport fraud. The Department of Justice says 42-year-old

Angelica Marina Francisco obtained the identity of a U.S. citizen back in 2011. She used the false identity to get a passport and vote. in the 2016 and 2020 primary and general elections. The DOJ says the penalty for aggravated identity theft is two years in prison. The maximum penalty for false statements in an application for a passport using the passport and a false claim of citizenship for voting is a total of 25 years in prison.

That's one woman in Alabama, not exactly a swing state, one person who's been prosecuted. Now, there are many more examples of this that are reported. this is just the latest one. But you know what the libs are going to say. They're going to say, oh, you know, this is just a one-off. Well, we don't really investigate this sort of thing. By definition, this is a very difficult crime to pin down. It's an act of deception that half of our country and most of our political class is intentionally obscuring.

The reason that the libs are importing these foreigners into our country is to rig elections in the long run. and many of them have said that openly. So it's hard to figure it out. But just look at her behavior. This wasn't just a woman who accidentally showed up to a polling place one day, who just didn't know that foreigners are not allowed to vote. She obtained false documents. Now you might say, well, she obtained the false documents,

potentially just to get a job. Yeah, maybe. And why'd she go vote? If you are illegally in this country and you need to get a false document, to get a job, which is not true. Many times you can just get the job without a false document, but let's say that's why. Why would you imperil your freedom, your ability to skirt the law, even, by going to vote? And then if you're voting, why would you specifically vote in these presidential election years, these significant years, 2016 and 2020? Do you think someone maybe

suggested that she do that? Do you think she was guided to do that? Democrats have some of the best get out the vote operations in history. Democrats are really good at shenanigans and rigging elections. You think maybe there were one or two other people involved in this who planted the seat in her head. Maybe you helped her to do it. That's going on in Alabama. What's going on in the swing states where Democrats are investing virtually all of their resources in turning out votes, whether or not those votes are coming from eligible voters or not. But it's not happening. Okay, this person did it.

Okay, that person did. Okay, it happened once or twice. But hey, come on. Don't believe your lying eyes. Now, the biggest problem with mass migration is that it changes the constitution of the country. I'm not saying the capital C constitution. I'm not talking about the piece of parchment, we the people, in order to form a more perfect union. talk about the lowercase C Constitution, how the country actually works.

In terms of your day-to-day life, you probably don't refer to the Constitution very much. The laws that actually govern you are fairly removed. The customs, the behaviors, the workplace regulations, all the things that actually govern your life, they're pretty removed from the Constitution. And as the country increasingly has a population that was a population that was not raised here, doesn't have parents from here, doesn't have that generational knowledge of the country or that reverence for, say, the founding era or the era of the Mayflower, which is a great cigar brand, by the way, people who probably couldn't pass a civics class, that's going to change

things. And it's not even just the migrant. I don't want to blame the migrants for everything. As that tightly knit, well-oiled machine of the state becomes less clear, more ambiguous. filled with different people and multiculturalism, and even the native-born population starts to lose its ability and its familiarity with the Constitution. There's a survey just came out, comes out every so often,

the Annenberg Constitution Day, Civic's survey. This is to celebrate Constitution Day on September 17th, showed that a third of Americans cannot correctly name all three branches of government. This is being reported as a positive, do they're saying, look, almost two-thirds of Americans can name all three branches of government.

This is the basic structure of our government. A third of people in this country can't name the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary. Now, how about is you get a little further into the Constitution? The First Amendment. Almost three quarters of Americans know that that involves free speech. So a quarter of Americans don't know that the First Amendment involves free speech. But the First Amendment doesn't just involve free speech. It also protects freedom of religion in as much as it does not establish a national church.

Only 39% of respondents knew that. Only 29% knew that it involves a free press. No surprise. We don't really have a free press in America anymore. So the fact that some dusty old piece of parchment says we should doesn't really impress anyone. 27% knew that it involved the right to assembly. 11% knew that the First Amendment protects the right to petition the government. The right to redress grievances.

11%. The vast majority, 9 and 10 Americans don't know that. How about on the structure of government? The Supreme Court, these respondents were asked what they think about the Supreme Court. 69% supported a mandatory retirement age. 68% are in favor of term limits. This is some of the gutting of the court that the Democrats have been pushing. If those sorts of things went into effect, that would be a new, another aspect of the so-called court reform that these respondents wanted was an ethics reform, a new code of ethics imposed by the legislature or the executive.

That would fundamentally disfigure the separation of powers, the balance of power within our government. vast majority of Americans support that kind of stuff. In the long run, the uppercase C constitution is not going to save us. It can protect us for a little while when people get more vicious and more ignorant. It can protect us for a little bit because there are still institutions of power and power. The law still has force within a functioning government. The law is a tutor after all. But in the long run, that piece of paper is not going to matter at all.

if the lowercase C constitution is not strong, is not coherent, is not virtuous, is not fastidious, is not responsible, any number of adjectives, if the lowercase C constitution is not strong, you can have all the pieces of parchment in the world. Says inflation now from 2020 to today is worse than inflation from 2008 to 2020. That's an amazing number. I talked about inflation yesterday in the show. Twelve year period of inflation. Immediately after a major economic crisis, lots of tumult in the country, a ton of spending on foreign wars, racking up a lot of national debt. Even during that tumultuous time,

12 years, that does not get us close to the inflation that we have seen just under the Biden-Harris administration. That is radical, dangerous stuff. I thought when we left Los Angeles, we moved here to Tennessee,

one of the pitches was, hey, guys, you'll all get a 13% raise. Not because Jeremy was going to pay us anymore, but because the cost of living, well, not even forget about the cost of living, because there's no state income tax. To say nothing of the cost of living, it would be more than a 13% raise.

That gets totally wiped out in just three and a half years, wherever you live. The cost of goods and services, your household expenses, have probably gone up something like 22%, maybe more, depending on where you live in the last three and a half years.

How much longer is that going to go on? And can people really vote for more of that? Now, speaking of threats to our country, the Washington Post has identified a new threat to America. And yes, it does involve Donald Trump. Of course it does. The threat that the Washington Post identified is that Donald Trump is upset that he was shot in the head. That's the threat. The threat is not that Trump was shot. the threat is that Donald Trump is, you know, making a little bit of a deal out of having been shot. That's a big threat.

Trump said during the debate, I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me. Now, this was after the Libs had called him a threat to democracy. He said, a threat to democracy. You kidding me? I took a bullet for democracy. I probably took a bullet to the head because of the things that they say about me. And that's obviously true. Biden launched his presidential campaign on Trump posing an existential threat to democracy. The lives have been calling this guy Hitler 2.0 for 10 years now almost. That justifies assassinating Trump. If someone is Hitler, which in our modern mythology and our common parlance means the incarnation of absolute evil, if someone poses an existential threat to your country,

that justifies assassinating that person. That justifies exceeding the bounds of the law and even the constitution. What Trump said was 100% right. Here's what the Washington Post says about it. Trump said this at the ABC debate, referring to the bullet or bullet fragment that authorities said grazed his right ear. Listen to this. This guy gets shot in the head. And the only reason that it didn't blow the back of his skull off is because he turned at the very last minute, totally unexpectedly, 20 degrees. And the FBI has stated, with full certainty, he was shot with a bullet. and these people say, yeah, he was grazed by bullet or bullet fragment. It grazed his ear. Whatever little respect you have for the establishment media, including the Washington Post,

one of the most prestigious outlets, it is not little enough. You do not hold this institution in nearly enough contempt. They go on. Researchers who study political violence said these words, images and emotions have the dual effect of mobilizing Trump's supporters to vote for him and de-legitimizing the outcome in case he loses. They also said Trump's emphasis on the shooting could inspire some of his supporters to resort to violence in his defense. I don't think Trump has emphasized the shooting nearly enough. I want Trump to be talking about this shooting every single day. The man was nearly assassinated weeks ago. After the Democrats justified assassinating him, after the Democrats, justified assassinating him after they tried to throw him in prison multiple times. They're still doing that.

After they tried to impeach him on nonsense charges twice, after they weaponized the government against Donald Trump for his entire presidency and before his presidency when they spied on him during his campaign. And the Washington Post has the temerity to say, Trump's emphasis on the shooting could inspire, in theory, his supporters to resort to violence. That Trump's opponents have been resorting to violence. that Trump's opponents have been resorting to violence for almost a decade now. They burned half the country down during 2020. And then some guy in Pennsylvania decided to take the Democrats seriously and go try to blow the guy's head off. But you see, the real threat is that if Trump mentions that he got shot in the head,

then in the future, a conservative, a Trump supporter might shoot somebody, maybe hypothetically in the future. This is the real-life, earnest instantiation of the Norm MacDonald bit where he said, my biggest fear is that a Muslim terrorist would get a dirty bomb and set it off in Manhattan killing tens of millions of people because then the backlash against peaceful Muslims would be terrible. And when he said that, his guest on the show kind of took it seriously. Yeah, yeah, you're right. Well, that joke is now the reality of the Washington Post.

They go on. Just one more little bit here. It is creating a permission structure for at least some people. to want to take matters into their own hands, said Matt Dallock, a George Washington University professor who studies the conservative movement and is working on a book about presidential assassination attempts in political violence in the 20th century. It operates, this is the line, this is the Piest de Resistance. It operates similarly to the big lie about the 2020 election being stolen, and therein lies the danger to the country. So Trump's saying, hey, they shot me in the head.

Not even that. Hey, I was shot in the head. this joker, Matt Dalek from George Washington University, says that's akin to the big lie. But hold on. It's not a big lie. Trump did get shot in the head. We all saw it on TV. And the Secret Service and the FBI have all said that that happened. And we all saw it. So hold on. If the libs are saying that a thing that we all know with 100% certainty happened is like the big lie, it's kind of making me think that the other things they call a big lie, maybe are not lies. they're the truth too. Oh, this is Donald Trump has to stop telling people that he almost had his head completely blown off. He has to stop talking about how he took a bullet through the ear.

Because. Because what? Why don't you want us talking about that? It's pretty big news. It's the biggest political news since 9-11, frankly. Why don't you want us talking about that? Washington Post. Liberal professors.

Kind of weird. Kind of weird, I would say. Now, we do have some political news about the rest of the race. Bobby Kennedy, Jr. has come out. He's changed his view on how his supporters should play their hand from now until November. You know, previously he said, if you're in a red or blue state where it's not going to matter, vote for me. Now, I'll get some delegates or I'll get some electors potentially. And who knows?

Maybe if it's a contested election, it'll be thrown to the house, and then maybe they'll pick me to be president. So yeah, vote for me where it doesn't matter. But in the swing states, vote for Trump. He's changed that view. He says, now, forget about that. Just vote for Trump. Hey, everybody. A lot of people are asking me if they live in a red state or a blue state, should they still be voting for me?

What about swing states? The answer is easy. No. No matter what state you live in, you should be voting for Donald Trump. And let me tell you why. That's the only way that we can get me. and everything I stand for into Washington, D.C. and fulfill the mission that motivated my campaign. A disputed election result would be a disaster for our divided nation. President Trump needs to win

in a landslide, both in the electoral college and in the popular vote. He can't do that unless my supporters join him. Okay. Good stuff. This is the right thing to do. You don't want there to be any question in the minds of RFK junior supporters about who to vote for. And furthermore, you don't want to give fodder to the Democrats who, if they do manage to lose the electoral vote, but win the popular vote because just New York and California alone would probably give them the popular vote, you don't want them to do, as they frequently do,

try to change the rules, willy-nilly, and say, no, no, no, but if the presidential election were conducted in some totally different way, then we would have won, which is a dubious claim anyway, because if the election were conducted by popular vote, then the Republicans and Trump would campaign in New York, they would campaign in California. They would win a lot of those popular. They probably would win the popular vote. It's just a different, it would just be a different way to campaign. It would be a totally different race. So good stuff from Bobby Kennedy. Trump, for his part, has just come out. It's just broke yesterday, late afternoon. And he said, there will be no third debate.

Why? Because he says, this is on true social. When a prize fighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, I want a rematch. Polls clearly show that I won the debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats' radical left candidate on Tuesday night. And she immediately called for a second debate. She and Crooked Joe have destroyed our country with millions of criminals and mentally deranged people pouring into the USA, totally unchecked and unvetted with inflation bankrupting our middle class. Everyone knows this.

It was discussed in great detail at the first debate with Joe and the second debate with Comrade Harris. She was a no show at the Fox debate. She refused to do NBC and CBS. Kamala should focus on what she should have done. during the last almost four-year period, there will be no third debate. That's that. I was in favor of another debate

because I think Trump is pretty good at it. I think Kamala is relatively bad at it. She's better than Biden because she has a pulse, but she's not very good. She didn't provide substance. But Trump is claiming the win here. And he's claiming it as a clean win. The pundits didn't think it was a win for Trump.

The political nerds didn't think it was a win for Trump. But then in the days, that followed. Everyone from Fox News to the New York Times to the liberal New York Times that actually undecided voters, the people who are being, who are the target audience for these debates, they're not convinced by Kamala. I have confidence in Trump that he would absolutely crush it vis-a-vis Kamala at a third debate, but maybe it's a negotiation tactic, maybe he's bluffing, but as of now, he said what he said, the debate's over, no more inflection points. It must mean that the Trump camp thinks the polls are trending in their direction and the momentum is on their side

Take it away. Hey, Michael. So I've been a conservative my entire life, but I'm actually wanting some advice on how to avoid the slippery slope of becoming a liberal feminist. Because I kind of feel like the Republican Party is constantly attacking. women like me. So I'm in my early 30s, I'm single. This is not by choice. This is certainly not how I envisioned my life, but here I am. I'm just trying to make the best of it. I've had a very successful career that honestly I'm very proud of, but I am so tired of conservative media putting down women like me because I didn't ask for this. I'm tired of my family and friends

asking me when I'm going to get a man, when I'm going to get married, because all it's doing is putting salt in a wound, and now I find myself owning this feminist narrative to defend myself and honestly makes myself feel better. And now I'm even tempted to vote for RFK Jr. just because J.D. Vance's comments really hurt me. So how do I avoid the slippery slope I'm on? Totally fair. Many such cases, a lot of, you know, if it's any consolation, a lot of people are in your shoes. And I agree with your point that the Republicans and the conservatives should not be mocking women who find themselves in their 30s or 40s or whatever and, you know, life got away from them and they believed a bunch of nonsense that they were taught from the minute they were in kindergarten

all the way up to present that they should put off getting married, put off having kids, just focus on a career and then they come to regret that. You know, that's a big social problem. And as you say, a lot of women who are in this position, I know many of them actually will say, I didn't ask for this. Even liberal women. I know a lot of conservative women who, who, have that feeling, but a lot of liberal women, too, will say, huh, this isn't so great. Well, I actually,

they won't quite go so far as to say that the conservatives were right, you know, in pointing this out, but they'll say, well, you know, I kind of regret this. And so you got to speak to people where they are recognize this is a complex social problem that's been building for many, many decades, especially beginning around the 1960s, though it has seeds earlier than that, with the explosion of marriage in America because the lives changed the laws around divorce and they changed the culture around and the laws around weird sex stuff and it resulted in a lot more babies being killed, a lot more marriages ending in divorce and many fewer marriages taking place anyway. I'm going to be speaking at the Faith Family and Freedom event tonight in Texas and I'll be

talking about this very issue actually because family is right there in the middle of it. So I agree. You know, with the JD thing, I think it's been blown. way out of proportion by the media. So if all you heard was some clip on TV and you hear this constant drumbeat that J.D. Vance hates childless cat ladies or something, you know, I guess you could believe that. But J.D. is not talking about women who have been damaged by our liberal culture. He's talking about a type, you know, a kind of a caricature of not your type of the women who insist this is a good thing, who lead other women to a place that involves a lot of unhappiness. So, you know, I get it. I mean, you know, today would J.D. have changed the joke he told

on some podcast or whatever? Like, maybe, I guess he would have. But I just don't, I don't think the way that's being presented by the establishment media for the purposes of this election campaign are really reflective of what he believes or even has really said. You know, no one is more pro family and trying to, you know, change this awful liberal culture than J.D. Vance in the Senate. So I'm with you. I feel you. I feel you. The way politics is the art of inclusion. And I think there are a lot of people right now who have been failed by liberal policies and by liberal culture. And they're right for the taking. If you can first convey to people that you like them, you don't hate them. You know, you like them. You care about them. You want them to have good lives. And you want us all to have

good lives. And that involves reorienting our politics toward the common good into a place It is grounded in an objective reality and therefore will be more conducive to flourishing. I agree. Hey, Michael, I've watched your show for quite some time and have recently been converting to Catholicism because, well, I won't get into that, but one thing that I find difficult is forgiving myself, I guess. I've attempted suicide many times in the past and just thinking about the way that affected the people that care about me and I just find it difficult to forgive myself and lately I act as though I don't deserve to exist I spat in God's face and I guess I don't know how to overcome this. Thanks.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. The practical advice, especially you mentioned you're converting to Catholicism, is confess your sins and trust in God's mercy. It's about it. It's simple, but it's not simplistic. That's how it works. You say you have trouble forgiving yourself. You're falling into one of two errors that attend guilt and shame, which is some people fall into the error. people fall into the air of just dulling their natural sense of shame and guilt at their own sins. They say, oh, no, I shouldn't feel any shame or any guilt about that. No, conscience, shut up. I don't know. That's fine. I can go do all those things. That's no big deal. And that kind of hardens you over time. But then the flip side of that is a guilt and shame that will not accept God's mercy. but because you say you spit in God's face. Yeah. Yeah, you do.

So do I? So do my producers. So do all of us. We do that all the time. Because we sin. And to sin is to spit in God's face. You know, when you confess, you will say, you know, I detest my sins above all things because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell.

That's part of it. But most of all, because they offend. you, God, who are all good and deserving of all my love, but I don't give you all my love. I think about my somebody selfish all the time. And even the way you're speaking now, you're saying, I can't forgive myself. That's, well, that, that is, in itself is selfish. You talk about, you've attempted this extraordinarily selfish act of suicide and that that's hurt people around you. Yes. Yeah, yeah. You've done very selfish, bad things. And God will forgive you. Isn't that great? you've done very, very bad things that nearly killed you, but you survived.

Isn't that great? Isn't that great? You know, the reaction to that is, wow, you're right. I have done really horrible things. I have to bring up a little Shakespeare. I could accuse myself of such things would be better. My mother had never borne me. But even with all of that, God will forgive me.

If I am truly repentant, if I'm really penitent, I confess my sins. God will just forgive me. And I survived. You could have died. You could be dead right now. But you're not. You're alive. That's a wonderful thing. You thank God for that. But don't fall into the error of recognizing the sin. You're convicted of your sin and you're recognizing that awful selfishness. And then just turning it, translating into another kind of selfishness.

You've been given a great gift. So all you have to do is say thanks. Basically is good. many of the greatest saints have done a lot of bad, selfish things. It's not that they're just made of better stuff, that the saints are made of better stuff than you and me. It's God.

They accept God's grace. It's not, they didn't earn it, you know. So that's good. It's good. You can see more clearly the effect of sin. And as a result, you can see more clearly, the abundance of God's grace. That in itself is a special kind of grace. So you confess your sins. It has a psychological effect. It has a spiritual effect too. And you rely on God's mercy. That's all we can do. Next question. Hi, Michael. I'm preparing to propose to my girlfriend of 10 months. We've talked about

getting married in the past so she knows it's coming, just not when or how. I designed her engagement ring myself and I'm having it fabricated right now. I want to have the ring engraved on the inside. Since our marriage is going to be founded on Christ, it seems only fitting that this engraving should be a verse from Holy Scripture rather than just our names in the year that we were married. I'm having trouble deciding what verse to pick. I'm currently leaning towards John 1334, where our Lord says, as I have loved you, so you must love one another. I believe this reiterates the fact that the love we feel for each other is exemplary of the love that Christ has for us, his church. When I got my wedding ring and I ordered it online and it said, would you like it to be engraved? And I said, oh, yeah, sure. Someone would return it to its owner. And I mentioned this to sweet little Elise at one point. She says, Mag, you'll put your name and you're, what about my name? Mag, are you kidding me? I said, oh, right. I probably should have done that. But I like the idea of a reference to scripture. That's good.

The other thing you could do is this is a little bit more traditional, but I really like this tradition. You could do JMJ. That's good. You could do this even. I met someone the other day who embroideres a shirt. Some people put their initials on their dress shirts. And he puts JMJ. As initials are not JMJ.

It looks like initials, but it's the initials of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. I really like that. Very simple. And it's, you know, it's recalling the Holy Family. It's, you know, it's tying your marriage to the Holy Family and, of course, to our Lord. And marriage is a symbol of Christ's love for his church. And that's pretty simple. So I like that.

But the verse of scripture is good, too. Just don't put your own name in it because you will, your wife will be angry with you for that. Okay, it's fake headline Friday.
