A mass shooting in Seattle leaves three people dead and four people injured, and the reporting on the suspect in custody teaches us all an important lesson about race and the criminal justice system.

Then, a knife-wielding would-be killer in Paris stabs three women, including a pregnant woman, while yelling that, Allah commanded him to do it. And the French interior minister is reporting that police are now investigating to figure out the motive. I really, I hope, I hope they can crack that case. Call in Sherlock Holmes. Then, in cultural news, conservatives score a major win, a long-awaited major win at Cracker Barrel. I'm Michael Knowles. It's the Michael Nulls show. Welcome back to the show. In Berlin, a Muslim just drove a car into a pride parade. It is a little confusing.

Don't confuse that with the Muslim who stabbed a bunch of people, including the pregnant woman in Paris. Those are different incidents. We won't get to all of the incidents that seem to happen every single day because I'd have to extend my show to 17 hours. First, though, let's start in America. In Seattle, there was this festival going on, the Bight of Seattle Festival. I guess it's a food festival.

And there was a mass shooting there. Really, really sad. Three people were killed in the shooting. At least four others were injured, including a two-year-old kid. Really horrific. So everybody pray for the victims, the people who are recovering. There is a suspect in custody. It seems that there's one suspect in custody.

One suspect might have been killed in the shooting. And there's another suspect that, last I was checking the news before this show, is still on the loose. The suspect who is in custody is a 15-year-old, and that's all we know. At least that's all we're supposed to know. According to court papers, does the media don't want to talk about this? The prosecutors don't want to talk about this. The politicians don't want to talk about this. But some actual journalists out there are looking into court papers. They found out that the suspect arrested is a 15-year-old, and they'll give us an update on the one who's still on the loose. Why is it that all we know about the suspect is that it's

a 15-year-old? Here we have Seattle mayor, Katie Wilson, giving us something, anything more to know about the alleged perpetrator. Shortly after 6 p.m. last night, officers responded to the sound of gunfire. They were assigned to support bite of Seattle and were on scene within seconds and took one suspect into custody. No police weapons were discharged. We believe that two people exchanged gunfire outside the Seattle Center Armory. Seven victims were caught in the crossfire with a possible eighth. A 19-year-old man, a 44-year-old man, and a 56-year-old woman were killed. Two died at the scene, and a third passed away at Harborview Medical Center. Official identification will come from the King County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Seattle Police Department detained a 15-year-old juvenile in connection with the shooting. The teen was booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center for investigation for firearms violations and first-degree assault. We believe this teenager opened fire in the crowd, but details are still under investigation. This individual will have a first appearance court hearing at, 1.30 p.m. today. And again, we have not formally arrested anyone for investigation of homicide. Okay, one phrase should really leap out to you here as being pretty weird. And that would be the phrase 15-year-old juvenile. 15-year-old juvenile. That is a redundant phrase. Most 15-year-olds,

last time I checked, are juvenile. It's like saying a short midget. We know. Why? Why? include that word? Why just repeat the one detail you're telling us? It would seem to me it's because the mayor doesn't want to give any additional details. It's a 15-year-old juvenile.

It's a teenager. It's an individual. Yeah, I figured it was an individual. Usually when you arrest one person, it's an individual. I hope that people aren't possessed. You could say it's Legion because there are many. Why are we getting so few details? We all know why. We all know why, because we can now conclude that the suspect is not white. That's why. I

shouldn't laugh about it. It's very sad. But it tells us something very, very important about our political system, our justice system. Andy No, an actual journalist releases a picture of the alleged suspect. And it would appear to, it's actually unclear if it's a man or a woman, but very much not a white person. Very much. much a black person. And to Andy's point, Andy, who's done incredible journalist work on the trans issue and gender politics and Antifa, points out these days, when the details are omitted on sex, you can almost certainly conclude it's a man or at least not a straight person. But this goes back to the old Anne Coulter rule. Anne Coulter made this point, I don't know, 10 years ago,

the longer it takes the media to tell you the race of the alleged killer, the more certainly you can conclude, with greater certainty, can you conclude that the suspect is not white? Now, you'll say, Michael, you're being unfair. You're jumping to conclusions. You're stretching this too far. It might just be that the media don't want to get ahead of themselves. The prosecutors don't want to get ahead of themselves. And so, you know, they'll release the details eventually, but it would be totally irresponsible to release something like the race of the alleged perpetrator so suddenly. However, I can't help but recall, perhaps you can recall this, that Buffalo Market Shooting a few years ago, it was back in 2022, Buffalo Market Shooting immediately after the incident happens. This is as the scene is unfolding. Here's how CNN reported it.

As we learned in the press conference, this shooter is now in custody. He has an 18-year-old white male who officials say drove into Buffalo from outside the community, as you heard there from the mayor. 18-year-old white male. So you're hearing this from CNN as the scene is unfolding. CNN, which hears it from the prosecutors and the investigators and the politicians as the scene is unfolding. Well, maybe that's just a one-off in the Buffalo shooting, right? No, actually.

If you go back to the Highland Park shooting, do you remember that one in 2022? Immediately after the incident happens, the news media report, it's a white guy. Okay, Michael, that's two examples. But can you pull? Oh, yeah. El Paso Walmart shooting, 2019. immediately, go look it up. I didn't impose upon the producers to print the stacks of reporting on all of these incidents.

Immediately as it's going on, they say it's a white guy. Dayton, Ohio shooting, 2019. Immediately, it's a white guy. The Tree of Life Synagogue shooting, 2018, immediately reporting, it's a white guy. The Emanuel AME church shooting, 2015. Immediately as it's going on, it's a white guy. It is just, it is a law of media and of politics and of the law. law effectively that when the alleged shooter is white, you immediately say it's a white guy,

and when the alleged shooter is not white, which is most of the time, per capita statistically, most of the time, you do everything you can to hide the shooter's race. I say most of the time because non-white people are much more likely to commit shootings than white people. Black people commit shootings at six to eight times the rate of white people. So if race were pertinent at all, clearly it's pertinent to the media, to the prosecutors, it's very relevant to them when it's a white guy. But if race were so important to the media, then surely they would report the race in the majority of cases. They would report the race when it is statistically correlated to shootings. But they don't. Because they don't like white people. Because

it's not just about racial animus, because that tells us something about our criminal justice system. I'm not telling you anything you don't know. Everybody who's paid attention to the news for more than five seconds knew immediately when the race of the perpetrator, alleged perpetrator, was withheld. They knew it wasn't a white person. How do they then go on to report it? If it is black people who commit the crime. Where does the fault lie? You know, the fault lies with the guns. It's our gun culture. It's those dastardly guns that just sprout out legs jump off of the table and start shooting people. And sometimes accidentally they wind up in the hands of black shooters. If it's a trans person who commits a shooting, which is frequent, then who's at fault?

certainly can't be the perpetrator. It's not the trans guy or girl or whatever they are. It's the fault of phobia. It's the phobia. It's society drove the poor beleaguered trans people who were oppressed under the various phobias for years. That's what drove them to commit the crime. They're barely guilty. If it's a foreigner who commits the crime, where does the fault lie? You know, the fault lies with America because America has not been welcoming to the stranger. is xenophobic. America colonized the world. We actually didn't colonize the world, but America as the greatest nation of the West, the West did colonize the whole world. So it's the fault of America and Western civilization. The only time it's the shooter's fault is when it's a white guy. So, am I just, am I just an old man yelling at the clouds, screaming at the unfairness? And, you know, if the rolls were reversed and the situation, the shoe were on the other foot, No, the reason this matters politically is because this reporting from the news media and from, especially from the prosecutors and the politicians, this reporting is itself evidence of a two-tiered system of justice. This is why you're going to see uneven prosecutions. This is why you're going to see people attempting at the very least to throw the book at the white guy.

This is why you're going to see people treated differently. You can't separate these things. You can say, well, yeah, maybe the media are irresponsible, but don't worry, our courts are going to handle this the right way. Okay, yeah, maybe some prosecutors or maybe certainly some politicians are going to be irresponsible here, but don't worry, the actual legal system will treat this differently. That's not the case.

That's not the case. I mean, look at January 6th, sorry, January 6th. Sorry. January 6th, the worst day ever in the history of this or any republic. Look at how those guys were prosecuted compared to how the BLM rioters were prosecuted. They weren't effectively, or when they were prosecuted, they were let off with a slap on the wrist. The January 6th people who cracked a course light in the Capitol Rotunda, those guys got solitary confinement for 48 months. The Midwestern grannies were thrown in the clink and then the guards threw away the key. the very fact that the media and the politicians talk about investigations and crimes this way

tells you, they are telling you, that they are treating different people differently. And you saw an extreme version of this just about a month ago in the UK where that poor young white guy was stabbed to death by the Sikh guy, the child of immigrants. Cops show up to the scene and they make fun of the victim. They don't believe the victim. They kind of blame the victim. They let the victim bleed out while they're joking with the victim's killer.

And it wasn't just the cop's fault. That was a habit and a prejudice that was cultivated by the government itself, by the College of Policing in the UK, which had the race action plan, which said that we don't want color blindness. You need to go soft around non-white people and you've got to go tougher on white people.

The way that law actually works in politics is not just according to the letter. It's not that statutes and constitutions have a force in themselves. What statutes and constitutions do is they motivate and condition and shape behavior and habits and prejudices and inclinations. And that is what you're seeing play out. The CNN editors probably aren't even conscious of what they're doing. The mayor probably isn't even all that conscience. It's just a habit. White people need to be treated more harshly because of intersectionality and systemic injustice and oppression and the legacy of slavery and whatever. They'll ex post facto fill in the blanks as to why. But that is the system that we are under. And it's not

just an accident and it's not just a one-off. We see this every single time. Obviously, that's not an argument to go softer on the white guys. It's an argument to go tougher on everybody else. But that is the system we are currently under. It is ubiquitous. There is a two-tiered system of justice in the United States. And it is reflected everywhere in the media, in the political offices, in the classrooms, in ordinary behavior. Because the law is a teacher and it conditions behavior and it conditions the behavior of everybody. Okay. So let's leave the United States for a second. Let's go to Paris because there was this big stabbing in Paris and the stabber, was shouting out his motives, and I don't know. Maybe he was speaking another language, or maybe

He's just stabbing people, including a pregnant woman. Two of the people were in critical condition. I think one person, it was more superficial injuries.

I don't think anyone has died yet. I hope they all survive. We should pray for them. This guy, as he was stabbing, he said that he was commanded to do it by Allah. So this guy who, you know, doesn't look the most Parisian. I mean, I guess now the average person in Paris looks like he's from Syria or something. So in that way, he looks like a typical Frenchman. But he doesn't look like Charles Mortel, let's say.

And he is yelling about Islam, you know, this foreign religion, with this motivation, with this behavior that's kind of foreign to Paris, though increasingly common. He says, I am stabbing people. he's effectively saying, I am stabbing people because the God of Islam told me to. And what does the interior minister, Lorraine Nines, say, says that the motive is still unknown. The motive is still unknown. I think we know the motive. I think I'm not, I'm no Sherlock Holmes.

I'm no Father Brown, but I'm pretty sure if you put me, I'll volunteer for the French. If you put me on the case, I think I can solve it in 42 milliseconds. I think we know what happened. I think the French probably know what had. The French are smart people. I have a million terrible things to say about the French, but they're a smart people. So they know what happened. They just don't want to say it. When it's a white guy, they know the motive immediately, which is racism or bigotry or whatever. But the epidemic of white male violence. But when it's a not white guy, you know, he's actually kind of white looking, but he's a little, little dusky, little on the swarthy side. We Sicilians can spot it. They cannot tell you. We go through this

ritual, a ritual that has become part of our criminal justice system in the United States, in continental Europe, and in the UK, the ritual of pretending not to know. There's that meme that you see go around. It says so much of left-wing discourse is just them pretending not to understand things, thus making communication impossible. Well, that is one of the rituals of our Western criminal justice system now is when a foreigner commits a crime, you have to pretend not to understand it. In this case, I shouldn't say it's funny. There's a very dark humor to it. In this case, the alleged perpetrator is literally screaming at us saying, I did this because of Islam. Allah made me do this. They said, ah, I just can't figure it out. I just, ah, if only I, I should

have, I knew I should have got my PhD in criminology. My master's degree is not sufficient. Why did I because of it Allah you idiot? I'm telling you why I did it. No, no, you don't understand. I'm trying to figure it out. Please, please, perpetrator, quiet down. I'm trying to figure out why you were stabbing all those people. Not just in Paris. If you look elsewhere in Europe, same time period, same as that's happening like every day. There was a Muslim attack on a pride parade in Berlin. But decide you're feeling on pride parades for a second. I think we should all agree. It would be, yeah. I I want to banish pride parades from the face of the earth, but I don't think we need to run the people over with a car. This was near the Brandenburg gate. Guy drives a car, then gets out of the car, starts attacking people with a machete, fled on foot,

65-year-old woman was killed, 29 people injured, the alleged perpetrator's name, not a German name. It's not Heinrich. It's not Friedrich. It's Abdul Balut. 21-year-old German citizen of Lebanese descent. He was born in Berlin. He's German by birth, I guess, to parents who are Lebanese. Now, the fact that he was born in Germany creates a little bit of a problem because I think for most of us we would say, hey, guys, why don't you just get rid of all these people? Why don't you just deport them? They keep driving their cars into your markets. Germany, famous for its beautiful Christmas markets, basically can't have them anymore because Muslims keep driving cars into them. Germany, I was in Germany last October, very excited for Octoberfest. That'll be a lot of fun. I was in Bavaria. But they, they, they,

didn't really have Octoberfest because Muslims keep driving their cars into stuff. So you'd say, oh, why don't you deport these guys? You might say, well, because this guy was born in Germany, so therefore they can't deport him. But Germany, unlike the United States, especially since this recent stupid Supreme Court ruling on birthright citizenship, Germany doesn't have a hard, firm version of birthright citizenship. If you are born in Germany to foreigners, you're not automatically a German citizen. If you're born in Germany to parents who became German citizens, then, you know, you have more protections, but they don't even have this firm birthright citizenship. There are plenty of ways to tweak the law so that you can get the people who keep stabbing and driving their cars

into things out of the country. Especially in this case, the suspect in this case, had a rap sheet a mile long. This guy who's been in Germany his whole life had a bunch of juvenile convictions. He was known to authorities, committed a bunch of crimes. They didn't get rid of him. Then he was posting on social media, all sorts of ISIS propaganda. That should have raised some red flags. Maybe at that point you say, all right, the juvie convictions will let you stay, but when you start posting ISIS propaganda, then you got to leave. That didn't do it. Last year, this guy travels to Syria to join ISIS. He went to via Turkey or Lebanon and tries to go to join ISIS. He was arrested in Lebanon for incitement related to religious conflict. What did they do?

they extradite him to Germany. And even at that point, even when the guy says, I want to join ISIS, I am a criminal, I've been a criminal my whole life, I support ISIS and have for years. I'm trying to join ISIS, but they won't let me. Germany says, yeah, so well, come back in, yeah, let me get you a little beer, yeah?

Ain't a beer, beta, here you go, hello. We want you back here. Now just please, don't drive your car into any markets, please. And what does he do? He says, I'm going to drive my car into markets. Oh, well, please don't. You better not. On and on it goes.

You can read the whole story. Every detail you read should get you angrier and angrier. So what do we conclude from this? What we have to conclude is that the politicians want to destroy their countries. I am always a glass half full, look on the bright side, try to see the good in people, try to understand the motives. But here, in Germany, in France, in the United States, in the UK, throughout the West, at a certain point, the patterns are undeniable, all of this keeps happening, and then our governments go out of their way to protect the

perpetrators, to empty out the prisons, to let the criminals off the hook, even if they have a rap sheet a mile long, to try to abolish prisons as the Democrats, as AOC and her whole squad, people like her, have tried to do here in the United States. They want to destroy their countries. So why do they want to destroy their countries? I think the most charitable read I can have is that it's a combination of guilt and greed. They feel guilty for our civilizational success, wealth, accomplishment, the fact that we're the good place to live and everyone wants to come here because it's nice. So there's a guilt that they feel for that. A guilt that is really unearned. They don't even have the right to the guilt in the sense that all these politicians who are welcoming in people who explicitly want to kill us, none of those people built our civilization. None of them wrote the great works of Bach or Mozart. None of them painted the Sistine Chapel.

None of them established our system of law and civil society. They're doing their best to undermine all of those things. And yet they still feel a kind of a guilt. And I think there's greed, which is. that they realize that we're a decadent civilization. We don't have enough kids. We all have welfare states. We can't support the welfare states. So we import cheap labor. That's really what it's about. But that is why, especially the greed part, but even this kind of pathological guilt, that is why they will not fix the problem. And so there's this temptation, which I alluded to at the top of the show,

there's this temptation from the pundits to say, no, no, you guys don't understand. The Muslims keep stabbing people. No, no, no, they're going to keep driving their cars into markets. No, no, no, you don't understand. We need a colorblind system of justice. You don't, you're being unfair to the white people or this people or that people. They, they know. At a certain level, they know. And even if they're not totally conscious of it, their behavior is shaped this way, because this is how the system operates. So you're not, you're not going to, like, win an argument with these sorts of politicians. with the power brokers of our civilization,

you're not going to win an argument and the scales will fall from their eyes and they'll say, oh, you know, you're right. We were wrong. We shouldn't support the criminals. There are structural problems here. Not the least of which is, the one that I just mentioned, which is that we don't have any kids anymore. If you could fix the kids' problem, which itself can't be isolated from economic problems, political problems, material problems. But if you could fix the kids problem, like 93% of your political problems would go away

overnight. If you could fix the kids problem, you would fix our immigration problem. You would fix our debt problem. We have a massive debt problem in America. Europe obviously has a huge debt problem. You would fix our social solidarity problem, a lot of which is caused by mass migration and the inherent difficulties of assimilation and the more intentional failure of assimilation in recent decades. you would fix like everything. You would fix the problem of a lack of patriotism because patriotism is an extension of love of one's own family. It's an extension of filial piety. So when your country just becomes a marketplace for all sorts of foreigners who have no connection to your actual society and to your political tradition, no one's really patriotic. And then even the people whose families have been here for a long time, because law is a teacher and because we're creatures of habit and present. prejudice, they take on the trappings of that same lack of patriotism. If you just solve that one problem, we need to have kids. Europe has no kids. We're also below replacement, but Europe is like dead. It's moribund. It is a museum at this point. If you just fix that one problem, you'd fix all of

these other ones. But when you get to the German, when you get to the French authority saying, oh, gee, I wonder what the guy's screaming a la, la, la, la, I wonder why you committed his crime. When you get to that stage of the problem, you are dealing with only the most surface-level symptom. The real rot is far deeper and much more difficult to solve. Okay. Lots of really sad and violent stories today landing on this gay pride parade in Berlin. But there is a win here. the injustices that we suffer, we normal people of the West. There are so many, we forget them quickly. But one of them, I know it seems trivial, but it's not. One of them is the Libs wouldn't even let us have Cracker Barrel. Is nothing sacred? Nothing is sacred to them.

They wouldn't even let us have Cracker Barrel. I love Cracker Barrel. I know the food has gone downhill in recent years. I know it's kind of like slop out of bags and stuff. I don't care. It's a great dining experience. It's one of my kids' favorite restaurants. I love the weird knickknacks on the wall.

I love the little peg game. I love even the food. I love the food. The staff is always great. The country store. It's awesome. And the lips come in and they said, hey, what if we transform this into a millennials apartment in New York City,

circa 2013? What if we, everything that makes Cracker Barrel charming, the wooden chairs and the pictures on the wall, even down in the peg game, what if we just got rid of that and made it look like an even more sterile Panera? Panera already is just like a hospital cafeteria. What if we just turned that up to 11? That's what they wanted to do to Cracker Barrel. And it was totally outrageous and I hated it. And the CEO tried to defend this for a while, but there was such a backlash. For goodness, six, they took the old timer off the logo. Do you remember, you know, on the logo, on the real Cracker Barrel logo, there's that old guy, there's that old timer guy. And they tried to took it off and just made it look like every other piece of minimalist millennial trash, lifeless garbage, bereft of delight. Anyway, I know, I'm a little bit on my soapbox here. The CEO of Cracker Barrel is gone. Eventually, they backed off it. They said, okay, okay, we heard you. We're keeping the old timer. We've already screwed up a few restaurants, but we're not going to screw up any of the other ones. And now the CEO is going down. There's a new CEO, new sheriff in town, David Dino, whose first statement on this said that the chain is a quote, truly iconic American brand defined by its unique combination of warm country hospitality, timeless appeal, and deep connection with guests across generations. This actually is a scalp for conservatives.

And I know everyone's going to make fun of it and say this is trivial. Who cares? Cracker barrel's not even that good. Like, stop it, Michael. How pathetic is it? The conservatives have lost so much in our culture that we need to celebrate the quasi-preservation of Cracker Barrel. But, yeah, I agree with you. I agree with you in a way. It is very sad.

I wish that we had preserved more cultural institutions. I wish we had preserved the schools. I wish we had preserved the churches. I wish we had preserved the offices of government. Hollywood. Yeah, I wish conservatives had done that. We haven't, for all sorts of reasons that we frequently talk about on this show. Maybe we'll have time to get into later.

We haven't. So, yeah, you're right. The situation is very, very dire. And that is why it is all the more important to preserve what seem like minor or trivial institutions. It's why you need to keep the old timer on the cracker barrel logo. because it's in the little things that the rot begins, to quote the first season of the crown, and it's a series of minor victories that leads to the transformation of a culture. The left knows this.

Why do lives in boardrooms? Why do lives want to destroy crackerbill? Why do they want to make it look like just a clinical, lifeless, I don't know, hospital. Why do they want to do that? Because you could flip the question on its head. We said, why do you conservatives care so much about cracker barrel? I say, we're not the ones who changed everything. Why are the libs trying to destroy cracker barrel? It's the same, it's the same principle that you saw in the bathroom debate. Oh, who cares? Why do you guys care so much about transgender bathrooms? I don't care. I'm not the one who changed it. I would be fine with the way things

worked before, which is when men had a bathroom and women had a bathroom. you're the ones who cared. You're the ones who changed the rules. So if we're going to play this game of, you know, you're obsessed with this issue, you need to focus on things that matter. I'm going to throw that right back at you because you're the one who started it. And now you're objecting and making me look like a weirdo because because I told you to stop. I told you not to change things. If we're all going to play this game of who's the most hip-cooled blasé guy in the world, then great. Let's go back. You don't care. I do care. Go back to the way things were, but they won't. Because the left knows that it's in the little things that the rot begins. And so what the left wants to do is kill our

traditions, our traditional culture, in a death by a thousand cuts. This is how China wages were on us. We're kind of in a war with China right now. We'll get to in a moment. Actually, President Trump just did something very important about winning the AI war with China. But China is kind of at war with us already because they're not sending warships, they're not shooting missiles into the country. They're just doing all sorts of little things that don't quite rise to the level of an overt act of war. But they are, for instance, just use one example, they're smuggling bio weapons into our country to destroy our crops, like all the time. Every few months, there's a new story about how some Chinese graduate student was arrested smuggling in bio weapons to some laboratory

in the United States that would destroy our crops. They do that, along with myriad other bligerent actions, to destroy the country by a thousand cuts. That's how the left works. And if they destroy our crops, that will be yet another attack on Cracker Barrel, which uses our crops, but it still would not be as heinous an attack

as getting rid of the old-timer. It's a win. Take the win. Just it's good. It's not sufficient. Yes, it is minor in the grand scheme of things, but you win major victories, but with lots and lots of minor victories. Speaking of delayed vindication, new report out here from the Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter, Catherine Harage, veteran journalist, to tell all of you conspiracy theorists out there that when you said

that the Bidens were being blackmailed by foreign powers, specifically China, you were totally right, and the intelligence community knew about it and the IC covered it up. We'll get to that momentarily. then we'll get into the ways that President Trump is waging this war that China is fighting against us. First, though, my favorite comment yesterday is from The Sun That Shines, who says, You're only a true fan of Michael Knowles if you read the books in the book club, including War and Peace. Hashtag the More You Knowles. That's a real deep thing. I bet there are a lot of people who listen to this show, even who listen to this show every day, who don't know that I have this other show at Prager You that I've had for like eight years now or something.

thing, and it's my hobby show. I keep it just because it's a delight, and it forces me to educate myself. But yeah, it's the book club show, prayer you which you can check at. And yeah, if you got to read, you got to read the books. It's like there are layers to this. There's the daily show. There's the breakouts. There's social media. Then there's the daily show. The member of segmentum, when you become a daily wire member and we get to chat after the show and in all access. And you buy the game, and you get the Mayflower cigars and you light the candle in your house. And then don't neglect your intellect. You've got to read the books in the book club. So true.

Remember when we were saying that Hunter Biden's activities were not just scandalous and scintillating and good tabloid fighter, but actually presented a major political concern and national security concern because he was clearly being manipulated and used by foreign powers? And we were all called crazy conspiracy theorists and unfair and cruel and whatever. Well, we have Catherine Harage here who just pointed out on Katie Pavlach's show that China was not only indebted, to blackmail Joe Biden, but the intelligence community knew of it and tried to keep it from the president. What we saw in the release of the records, which I'm afraid, I think, in the media or legacy media, there was kind of a willful blindness. They didn't want to look at the records. All you had to do was spend a couple of hours. I found these records, which are talking about blackmail by China.

It was for President Biden's Daily Brief. I can conclude, I think, that it was probably about targeting his family. When that kind of information is not reaching a decision maker, ultimately the United States and the American people are the losers. Right. And I think that's what people need to be focused on. And it's dangerous as well. Yeah, exactly. Very dangerous. So, okay, China was trying to blackmail the Bidens, along with plenty of other hostile foreign powers that is always going to happen. But crucially here, Hunter Biden gave them an opening because he not only committed zillions of lurid crimes, but, but documented them. I don't think there's a prostitute in America that Hunter Biden didn't film

himself with. Like, hey, hey, guys, hey, look at this crime I'm committing. Isn't that awesome? Plus the drugs, plus more importantly, the financial crimes. Anyway, the import of this is not just that China is hostile. We know that. It's not just that the deep state is corrupt and bureaucrats have too much power that they can wield in ways that are contrary to the interests of the United States and over the head of the duly elected representatives. That we also kind of knew, the enormity of it is worse than a lot of people imagined. But it's on the nature of the corruption itself, because we should look down the pike as to what's going to happen. You're already seeing this narrative being built up in the Democrats and in the media,

but I repeat myself, leading into the midterms and especially into 2028. the libs cannot win on their favorite issues, which is, it's the woke stuff. That's this stuff at the core of their politico-religious beliefs. That boys can become girls. We need to chop off their genitals, that we need a pride parade in every kindergarten classroom. We need abortion on demand after birth, fifth trimester abortion. We need to obliterate marriage, on and on and on. They can't win on that. That stuff is very unpopular, all of it. Even gay marriage is collapsing in support. So they're going to have to try to hide the ball on that. Some politicians are doing so. They're attempting to shift to working-class populism. You saw Zerunamandani and AOC do this just last week.

They say, no, no, I'm not a leftist. AOC said this. AOC of all people. I'm not a militant leftist. I'm just working class. Meanwhile, like all of the last eight years of her career exists. We have her talking about abolishing prisons and opening up borders. and transing the kids and all the rest of it. So the idea that she's not a militant leftist is silly, but even the economic populism doesn't quite work because there's been a reshuffling of the parties and the working class, which at times has sided with Democrats, is now much more likely to side with Trump and the Republicans.

And the reason for that is not just that Trump speaks their language, that he's dazzled them or something like that. It is because he's really offering them something. Trump, whether you agree with the policies or not, when Trump proposes tariffs, he is appealing in a material way to the working class. And you might say from your office at the Cato Institute Libertarian Think Tank, you might say, well, actually, you know, at the end of the day, the tariffs end up hurting the working class. Fine, whatever.

We can have that debate. But it's just, it is simply the case that protecting American industry, trying to resure American manufacturing, tariffs, that is an appeal. to the working class. When Trump says he doesn't want to reform entitlements, you can say that's bad and we need to reform entitlements, whatever, but that is an appeal to the working class. When Trump says he wants to close the border and deport illegal aliens,

you can say that's terrible for all sorts of reasons, including labor reasons, but that is an appeal to the working class because he's saying, I don't want all of these low-skill foreigners to compete with American labor and reduce their wages, which is what happens. So Trump is not just speak in their language

and, you know, talking in a gruff, funny way that appeals to those chuckle, yuckle, yokels who don't know any better, he is materially appealing to them in a way that the Democrats are not. When the Democrats oppose the tariffs, when the Democrats support mass migration, when the Democrats scoff at American manufacturing, they are telling the working class, we don't care about you, we don't want you, they're flipping the bird to the working class. So the working class appeal is ultimately not going to work for Democrats anytime soon, which is why what they're going to try to focus on, especially if they win the House, in the midterms. They're going to try to focus on corruption. And what they're going to try to say is that all of President Trump's associates, probably Trump himself, they're terribly corrupt. They've got

all these business deals. They were always going to take this approach because Trump is a businessman. He's the richest president we've ever had. By the way, the previous richest president we ever had was George Washington. So being a rich guy, not disqualifying for being president. The father of our country was a super rich guy. Not a mark against Trump. But anyway, having business interests does open you up to the accusations of corruption. They're going to say, oh, you know, there's these crypto deals and business deals and hotels and golf courses. So see, Trump is really, really corrupt. And at the very least, what they're going to argue is what the Biden's did is no worse than what Trump and his associates are doing. But these kinds of corruption are not just different in degree. They are different in kind.

Because whatever you want to say about Trump, you don't like the crypto coins or you don't like some of the business deals or whatever. I have not seen a compelling. argument that anything he's done is against the law. It's rich coming from Democrats, too, because Democrats engage in rank corruption, Nancy Pelosi being very famous for this. Nancy Pelosi, whose stock portfolio outperforms the best investors in the history of the world, the insinuation being, the implication being that she insider trades. But what Nancy Pelosi is doing is not illegal. You can say it's dodgy, it's shady, but it's not illegal. And so whatever you want to accuse Trump's associates of doing,

Democrats are bubbling up with this, it's going to get a lot louder because they're desperate. Can anyone point to me to anything illegal that they've done? No. And so the corruption, the supposed corruption and the blackmail doesn't work in the same way as with the Bidens. Because in the case of the Bidens, Hunter Biden was committing actual crimes.

Hunter Biden was committing crimes on camera while he was taking money hand over fist from friendly governments, from hostile governments. In the case of Ukraine, Ukraine was alternately friendly and hostile, taking money from the foreign governments to sell his father's influence.

His father was then using the government of the United States to get the Ukrainian state to stop investigating his son, and he bragged about this on camera at the Council on Foreign Relations. Hunter going trying to get money from China all over the place, that actually opens you up to blackmail. Because you have real crimes here. It's not just people making money skirting around regulations. It's actual crimes.

And you want to get back to the very top of the show, two-tiered system of justice. In the case of the Bidens, the investigators, the intelligence community, knew about this. They didn't stop it. And they even tried to keep some of it from the president himself.

Joe Biden, who, if you believe Hunter Biden's messages and if you believe his laptop, Joe Biden was personally and materially benefiting from that corruption himself. Okay. I want to get, oh, what a tease. I want to get to how the White House is waging this war on China now because the White House has just redirected hundreds of billions of dollars in funds from colleges to AI. One story I do want to get to before we hit Tehee Tuesday with the Membrum segmentum, though, a little bit of good news in a tough show with a lot of violence and new home prices are going down for the first time since 1974. It's pretty good news for people. Zomers in particular and millennials are struggling to buy homes. And it's because the housing market is really messed up and it's because rates have gone up. So a lot of people feel locked in.

You know, they have these 3%, 2.5% mortgages. They don't want to give them up. They've got a lot of their wealth, maybe all of their wealth in their house. They're living longer and they don't want to sell the house. So we have this housing crisis. We also have a problem with housing because we flooded the country with millions and millions of foreigners. So that obviously squeezes housing. We went through the numbers on the show in recent months. Huge amounts. In certain places in California and New York, 100% of the rise in rents is attributable to mass migration. The rest of the country, it's still the share of the rise and rents. It's all messed up. Well, one decent sign for some people is that new home prices are going down. Now, it's basically good news, but it's messy because the main reason

for the housing prices is interest rates. It's the locked-in homeowners. But that also ties into other problems, which is it reduces labor market dynamism. If you're locked into your home, you're much less likely to go take a job in another city or even a job maybe across town. So it has downstream economic effects that are really, really tough. And it's not just that it's not all good news because the new home prices are getting cheaper. It's really more a reflection of the existing home prices.
