which is that he's freaking out the North voters in Michigan. Michigan's a swing state. So he says that he's going to go across the aisle, go on to some conservative media. He chooses Jesse Waters' show on Fox News. Jesse did a phenomenal job in the interview. I don't think he was unfair in any way. He allowed Abdul Al-Saiad's views to speak for themselves. The first one he hits on the big culture war issue, do you really support transing the kids? Here's Abdul's answer. He dodged. He dodged again. Sex changes for minors. Do you support that? Look, you know, I remember

having great conversations with my conservative friends about right to try legislation. The idea that the government shouldn't tell you what kind of health care you should have. I just think the government shouldn't tell you what kind of health care you should have. And if you're a minor, it's between you, your doctor and your parents. Now, if you disagree with that, if you disagree with that,

if you disagree that health care decisions need to be made by a doctor and their parents and a patient, then I just think we agree to disagree. But, you know, you want to put government inside a clinic or a hospital, selectively. I am. So you think it's okay for a parent to slash his kids stinging off? You think that's okay? I mean, do you, so do you really want to have this conversation?

Are you circumcised? Yeah, yeah. But I mean, that's a personal question. Okay. Doctor. So you probably should want to move on. You probably should want to move on. It's circumcision is different than castration.

I think it's a problem. It's a problem that. you think that you get to decide what happens between a parent, a doctor, and a patient. And I'm just saying that, yes, circumcision is surgery on a kid's dingling. So if you really want to bring that up, you can, I just think you guys are really selective about how you want to talk about these things. Abdul, Michigan's not going for that. That is sick stuff. Right off the bat, you know this interview is going to be absolutely delightful. Mr. Al-Sayad, you know, people, they're a little worried about some of your radical policies. You don't really support castrating kids, right?

Are you circumcised, Jesse? It's not, whatever point he was trying to make, that is not the right rhetoric if you want to come off as normal, as, I don't know, unthreatening, as the kind of mainstream candidate. And the point that he's making is clever on the surface, but ridiculous underneath, which is true of so much of leftism. Jesse Waters brings up this big issue and he says, hey, your whole party has embraced lopping off the genitals of little kids, giving them cross-sex hormones, permanently castrating them, damaging their bones, shortening their lives, pretending that a little boy is actually a girl. You don't support that, right? And Abdul al-Sayat says, well, have you taken part in a very mainstream, widespread genital operation?

That does, I guess, like, technically speaking, a circumcision mutilates a genital. Technically, but it's so different as to be not just different in degree, but different in kind. Because circumcision is a religious practice of the Jews that was adopted by certain sects of Protestants, which is why it became popular in America. Most Christians in Europe are not circumcised, but in America they are. Good enough for our Lord, probably good enough for me. And what are the consequences of this? consequences of circumcision are, it's, I don't remember, but you know, I'm sure it's a little painful when you're a little baby. And then the only other consequence is you're a little bit less likely to contract sexual transmitted disease. That's about it. And maybe it's a little easier to wash yourself. That's it. That is the consequence of circumcision, which is very widespread throughout our culture for a very long time. The consequence of transing a kid is that, uh, he will not go through puberty, he will become a eunuch, he will not be able to have children,

and he will die earlier. So these are totally different sorts of things. Now, you got to give the devil as due. This might be the best answer that he has on this. So much of leftism is that. It's just trying to conflate unlike things such that you make this sort of false comparison and you distract people from what is really at issue here. There is a lot of. not a major movement against circumcision. We've had circumcision for a very, very long time, certainly in the Holy Land and then spread throughout the West, and that doesn't while up voters. Mutilating little kids and making them seem like the opposite sex, that does. And so he's just trying to say, no, no, no, it's not that weird what we're doing, even though these things are

totally different and kind. Okay. So he doubles down on the least popular left-wing position. Then Jesse hits him on the Second Amendment. You want to replace the right to bear arms with the right to health care. You don't want to replace the Second Amendment, do you? Well, look, man, I think more people are more worried about whether or not they can see a doctor than whether or not they can have a gun. I'm just going to put that out there. I mean, you're dodging the question.

Do you want to replace the Second Amendment? I'm just saying that more people are more concerned about seeing a doctor. If we had a right to health care in this country, they probably wouldn't. And I think that'd be a pretty good thing, don't you? here again this is this is an even more blatant version of his strategy from the first answer which is just evasion says well i don't think you know we just want to give health care to people and i don't we don't really want to talk about the second amendment we and you say hold on i want to talk about the second amendment i just want to make sure that you the united states

senator if you become a united states senator will not want to repeal one of my basic civil liberties and one of my basic constitutional rights and he just filibusters so we can we can take that I think definitively, as proof that Abdul al-Syad would trans your kid and would take away your guns, take away your constitutional rights. But the craziest answer, the craziest answer actually was not the child mutilation answer. It was not asking the TV host if he had been circumcised, which also serves his kind of base purpose in that it's kind of winking at a little anti-Jewish rhetoric. You know, Jews are the main ones who do circumcision. So it's getting a little bit of that in for the anti-Jewish base of Abdul's support.

But actually the craziest answer was when Jesse Waters asked him about his comments on Sharia law. We wore back then. Okay. Let's move on. You said getting rid of Sharia law was white supremacy. Let's roll the tape. Go. I don't have to tell you that the same exact forces that drove native peoples from their land, two centuries.

ago, destroyed Black Wall Street a century ago, bombed a building decades ago, and tried to ban Sharia law not a decade ago, that those forces are alive and well today. So getting rid of Sharia law's white supremacy, can you explain that one? Do you know what canon law is? Jesse, I assume you're Christian, right? Yeah, tell me. All right, so canon law is the name for Christian law. I don't begrudge you your right. right to practice your faith as you choose. I don't know why the idea that I could practice my faith as I choose is a problem. Nobody is trying to push Sharia law on anyone else, just like I hope. Nobody is

trying to push canon law on anybody else because we live in America where you should have the freedom of your religion. And here we have it. You thought the comparison of circumcision to castrating a little kid was crazy. That is child's play compared to the answer on Sharia law. He says, Well, you know, you're all worried about Sharia law, but have you ever heard of canon law? Well, you know, I mean, we're not going to get rid of canon law. So, you know, it's like shut up about Sharia law. These also, these are different types of law. They come from religions.

That's basically where the similarities end. It's not just that one is Christian and one is Muslim. There are different forms of the law. Canon law is the law with which the church governs. herself. Canon law is prescriptions for how bishops administer sacraments. Canon law, for those who are not canon lawyers out there, which is statistically everyone, canon law says things like, hey, ministers, when you are administering a sacrament that involves oil, the oil has to come from olives or similar plants, and it has to have been recently blessed by a bishop. That's what canon law says.

Sharia law says that courts need to allow men to have four wives. Sharia law says that the testimony of a woman is worth half as much as the testimony of a man. Sharia law says men can initiate divorce, women cannot. In other words, canon law is an ecclesiastical form of law that is within the church. Sharia law intersects with the civil law. even in a confessional Catholic state on the order of the high middle ages, the canon law and the civil law are two totally different things. But in majority Muslim states, Sharia law just is the law. It's just the civil law. This is why in increasingly Muslim states, we used to call them Christian states, but then they became atheist. They became liberal, then they became atheist. Now they're largely Muslim. In those states, there are parallel systems of justice. There are separate courts that go by Sharia law rather than the English common law or European law.

Totally different. Absolutely apples and oranges. And so I'm left with two conclusions from the interview. One is Abdul al-Sayed really is as radical as they say. Sometimes we, Republicans, we get high on our own supply. We say that Joe Biden is the most radically leftist president ever. And it's like effectively he is because he was just a rubber stamp for the radical. left. But he, in his own person, he doesn't really have any ideology at all. He's pretty milk-toast.

Abdul al-Sayat, however, is really, really radical. And we've been talking on the show a lot about how Abdul has this schizophrenic campaign. One day he's jihadi Joe. The next day, he's like a Chippendale's dancer. He's kind of playing up the gay stuff singing, oh, I want to dance with somebody like a musical theater kid. And so you say, well, which one is he? Is he the gay millennial liberal or is he the the Wahhabi soldier? And the answer is apparently both. Apparently both. Because he is not

going to walk back transing the kids one little bit. Then on top of that, he has the regular wrote leftism of trying to get rid of your Second Amendment rights. And then on top of that, he's fully committed to Sharia law. Everyone's complaining about

this guy and everyone's talking about how crazy he is and how insane it is and this will probably turn off a lot of voters. I'm sure it will. You do have to give him a little bit of credit for the political strategy, even though he's bringing up circumcision, all this kind of crazy stuff, this is the best they have. Unless he is going to have a sister soldier moment and say, you know, the radicals in my party have lost it, and woke was crazy. And specifically, this is what I'm going to disavow of wokeness. And I'm not a hardcore Muslim and Sharia law is bad. And we should not implement it in Muslim majority communities in the United States. What a Dearborn, Michigan. Unless he's

going to do that. The best pitch he can make to voters is to hide what he believes. And he did that somewhat successful, as successfully as he possibly could have. We're back in 2023. We're chopping off kids' genitals. We're canceling people in corporate America for alleged race crimes that don't even exist. So this story is that Target was selling a Halloween costume. The real crime here, by the way, is selling a Halloween costume in August. That should be illegal. If Sharia law says that's illegal, I'm going to vote for Abdul. Nevertheless, they're doing all these things earlier and earlier.

They put up the Halloween costume. And let's see the Halloween costume. The Halloween costume is like a jack-a-lantern kind of thing. It's just like a black and orange, generic Halloween costume. This was racist. How was it racist? Well, because the mob said that it looked like a minstrel costume. You know, minstrel scene, minstrel shows is this 19th and early 20th century form of entertainment

where the way the popular story goes, white people would put on black face, dress up like Sambo and do a song and dance routine making fun of black stereotypes. And that's part of the story. I mean, you get Al Jolson. one of the great performers in American history, one of the great movies. Al Jolson comes out there and says, you know, I love to sing about the moon and the juna

in the spring. I'm not going to get canceled for doing my Al Jolson impression. But that's part of the story. The other part of the story is that black performers were in minstrelsy as well. We'll get to that in a second. Regardless, it's not a minstrel costume. What about the...

They put up this picture of a minstrel performer with his hands in the air, and they say, see, look, the black kid who's modeling the costume and the minstrel performer are both doing the same hand gesture. You say, well, the hand gesture has nothing to do with the costume.

The costumes are totally different. They say, no, well, but the minstrel performer looks black, and so does the kid in the advertisement. You say, okay, so hold on, your issue isn't with the costume. You're not actually alleging that the costume is racist. You're taking issue with the fact that Target hired a black model. That was the issue.

It's not the costume. So you say, okay, Target hired a black kid to, and the black kid was waving his hands, and this is somehow irredeemably racist. So you say, okay, so the conclusion I have to draw is that corporations should not hire black people to model clothing. They would say, no, no, no. Because if the corporation didn't hire black people to model the clothing, that too would be racist. If you hire the black person, it's racist because of something. And if you don't hire the black people, that's definitely racist because you're discriminating against the black people. Okay, so then what's racist?

Is it the hand gesture? You're not allowed to wave? Well, hold on. I went on the Target website. I look at the other Halloween costumes. We have a bunch of them. There are plenty of other costumes where the model has his hands in a similar position. They have one for the Flash.

They've one for Spider-Man. They've won for a strawberry. Not a watermelon. That could be considered racist, but a strawberry. And Spider-Man's white. Last I checked, the flash, I think is white. So what's the issue? The issue is that woke is coming back.

And a lot of us predicted this. We thought woke was totally defeated really by the 2024 election. And it's not. It's just laying dormant. And AOC proved it when she said woke one was crazy, but she wouldn't specify how. So the left still believes all of that stuff. And the left has the wins at its back right now because the Republicans control the whole government. and the Democrats are very likely going to win the midterm elections.

So combine those two elements. You have an American left that has not learned a single lesson since the height of woke in 2022, 2022, 23. And you have the Democrats on the brink of regaining political power. Put those two things together and woke is back. And you're already seeing corporate America anticipating this. You know, there was a tweet from J.D. Vance that people were posting a little bit yesterday that said, guys, Trump won, we don't have to do this anymore. And this was in reference to a prior controversy. This wasn't even about Target. And that's how a lot of us felt. We said, oh, Trump won. We don't

need to worry about Woke anymore. Yes, we do. We obviously do. In fact, even beyond the politicians, the markets are already anticipating the return of Woke. That's what Target giving in on this says. I mean, here's Target's apology. An apology from us. We pulled an offensive Halloween costume that should never have been part of our assortment. It is no longer for sale. As a company, we got this wrong and we are deeply sorry. We know this is especially hurtful for our black guests, capital B, team members and partners.

Removing this costume is an important first step and the company is looking closely at how this happened and what needs to change to ensure this won't happen again. Notice what's missing from the apology. They don't explain what was wrong with it. What was wrong with it?

I even saw some conservatives. I even spoke to a conservative yesterday, a pretty prominent one who said, oh yeah, that costume was really bad. How? What's wrong with the costume? Can I give you my deep take on this actually? Can I give you that just before woke fully comes back?

Maybe this is what will finally get me totally canceled. Obviously, the view that this is offensive and minstrelsy, that's ridiculous. There's another view which says, no, it's not offensive because it's not minstrelsy. But can we go to the deeper? The deeper view is, minstrelsy is a very important part of the American theatrical tradition. Am I allowed to say that? Minstrel shows are a very important part of the American theatrical tradition. They were enacted by very talented black performers pretty frequently.

One comes to mind in particular is Billy Curzans. Billy Curzans was this brilliant comedic performer from the minstrel era up through the early vaudeville era. He created the character of Aunt Jemima, which also got canceled, you will recall. But that was Aunt Jemima. It was so crazy when Aunt Jemima got canceled. That was a black character played by a black actress, written by a black comedian. But it was all canceled by liberal white people. And then I'll go even further, by the way, in my defense of the place of minstrelsy in the American theatrical tradition.

It still exists and is considered totally fine and is actually applauded. This to me, this is the deep level of what's so wrong about this target, non-traversy. Minstrel shows still exist. They're called Tyler Perry movies. And that's not even just my opinion. That is also the opinion of Spike Leight, who was attacking Tyler Perry, because he, I won't use the exact phrase that Spike Lee used, but he effectively accused him of promoting minstrel shows.

The same accusations were made of the Jeffersons, another phenomenal show, or Sanford's son, or Good Times. And it's fine, no one boycots Tyler Berry movies. And those have a much more plausible claim to minstrelsy than anything targeted. So anyway, all right, I'm getting off my soapbox. I'm getting down from my, you know, my love to singa with my soft shoe and all that. Just pointing out, the key aspect of this cancellation is the capriciousness.

That's the key here. It's that it's arbitrary. It's based on nothing. The costume is completely innocuous. The rule about what models you can hire, it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. This is the market anticipating that the woke mob is coming back and they're coming back with a vengeance. and the Democrats are very likely to win the House in the midterms, and it's going to get bad. And what are Republicans doing to stop it?

We're fighting with each other. We're ignoring the threat. It was ever thus. Okay. Speaking of kids, I have to get to this woman who went viral for broadcasting her kid on social media in light of the Lindsay Clancy case. We'll get to that in a moment. The daughter spilled the coffee. The daughter burst into a peer as apologizing. I would have been anticipating a blow-up to be yelled at and berated. But she remains calm. Okay. Rowling in her face. She watches me work to regulate and watches for instruction. She knows that she has nothing to fear and that no matter how frustrated I am,

I will always do blah, blah, blah. She waits for instruction once I finish cleaning up. We reconnect. I'm far from perfect, but I'm doing much better than I was taught. My parents are so bad, but I'm so good. Okay. Okay. So, do you notice the first thing wrong with this?

On its face, this is a good video, because in the wake of the Lindsay Clancy trial, this mother did not murder her kid. So she's really good. That's the whole thesis of the video is, I'm a really good mom. My kid spilled my coffee, and I didn't remember. murder her. So I'm a really good mom. And not only did I not murder her. I didn't yell at her. I didn't hit her. I didn't. I regulated myself. I and my daughter learned this and she's learning much better than I did because I had terrible parents and I hate you dad, hate you dad, which is what all of liberalism boils down to. And look at what a good mom I am because I didn't kill my kid. Do you see the first

thing wrong with this. The first thing wrong is that she's filming her kid. Why is the camera on? Why is the camera watching this scene? Did she just set her kid up to make a mistake so that she could do a performance for social media of how she didn't hit her kid or something? Was it all a set up? Let's say it wasn't all a setup. Let's say this woman is just a millennial white lady. and she just films yourself all the time. A lot of red flags there, but let's say, and it happened to catch the daughter committing this heinous crime of spilling the coffee.

Why is she filming her kid? I'd like to have an intervention with all of the women of all the different races and all the different ages, but definitely among the millennials where this seems to be a big problem. Stop filming your kids. Stop, stop it.

Stop filming your kids. stop taking pictures of your kids and then posting them to social media. It is, I would say, wrong statistically 100% of the time to post photos of your kids to social media, period. We'll get to what she did in a second. Posting pictures to a public forum of your little kids is wrong. Sorry to be so judgey today. I don't know, maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. That is wrong.

Don't do that. You should care more about the privacy of your child. then you care about getting the updutes from some weirdos on social media. There are a lot of weirdos. You know, there are a lot of people who are sick, freaks and perverts who are going to be looking at pictures of your kid. Don't, why would you give them that opportunity? That's a crazy thing to do. I'll tell you why she gave them the opportunity because she wanted to be a movie star in a narrative about her heroism in her role as a mother.

So she is manipulating this daughter. She's casting this daughter as the unwitting participant in this movie about what a good mom this lady is. She's manipulating the girl's emotions all to get likes and updates from some friends, I guess, and ultimately strangers on the internet. It's just so disordered. This is a woman who is mortgaging trust with her kid to get the adulation of anonymous crowds. This is a woman who is trading the high good of what would benefit her daughter for the very low good of applause from the mob. This is, like all vice, I guess, really just about trading higher goods for lower goods. That's really what this is about.

Even vice is not entirely just about bad things. When a guy goes to a hooker, and we'll get to that story in a second because the owner of the 49ers just got caught with a hooker in a trailer park. When a guy goes to a hooker, there's a lot of vice involved in that, a lot of addiction and commoditizing of human life and instrumentalizing human life and all the rest. But there is at least some kind of kernel of good there, which is the desire to love, albeit in this very perverse way. the desire to connect to another human being, albeit in this perverse way. There is something there. And it's not that there's no good instinct.

It's just it's perverted and it's made decadent and vicious. Well, same thing here. Yes, it's good to have the love of a community. But the love of your daughter is more important than the love of a stranger. And to manipulate your daughter in this way. We always talk about stage moms,

you know, are these the poor, Hollywood kids whose parents trot them around like circus animals and make a lot of money on them, usually steal their money. You feel really bad for the kids. Now every mother with a cell phone is a Hollywood stage mom because they're all, they're using their kids for content. So anyway, after I'll get off this soapbox. I was on a previous soapbox. Now I'm on this one. If your wife is doing this, you need to confiscate her phone. And if you're for the ladies out there who are watching and listening. If you were doing this, a lot of people are tempted to do this.

Oh, my kid looks so cute. That is like a good. That is a good inclination that is just being used for a bad purpose. You say, my kid is really cute and I want to share this with the world. And maybe it'll show what a good mom I am. And maybe it'll show what a luxurious life I lead. You know, it's like when millennials were younger and they just took pictures of their food at a nice restaurant. You do that.

And you say, oh, actually, but that's not a good idea because I should protect my kid's privacy. I should protect their safety. They didn't ask to be famous. They didn't. Maybe this is an embarrassing moment for them. maybe I'm not don't do that don't do that stop doing that also if you're a if you're a woman or a man but it's mostly women don't you're just constantly posting like selfies of yours don't that's a bad sign what are you doing that for whose attention do you want and for what purpose really really bad

just a totally totally disordered loves if sharia law bans this if you're If Sharia law bans mothers filming their kids in emotionally manipulative situations, I'm going to vote for Abdul. Abdul has my vote. Okay. Now, speaking of cultural tension, a French conservative politician, Eric Zemur, is going viral for telling a migrant that she's not welcome in France. Before we get to Eric Simor, my favorite comment yesterday is from Marshall Kiefer 238, who says, that German politician is taking screwing your constituents to a whole new level. That's true.

Yeah, the nudist, the nudist German who wants orgies with his constituents. That is, that's the most honest way of a politician screwing his constituents. Maybe that is something to recommend that, I guess. Okay. Eric Zimou, we turn from Germany to France. He's asked by, I guess, a migrant woman, if, in his vision for France, people like her will be able to come and seek a better life. It's not.

If you're not... If there are people like me who are in France for having a life better, it's not possible. No. The answer is no. And then actually, Zamor reposts this. I don't know when this exchange took place,

but he just posted it yesterday. He responds and he reiterates in text. He goes, The answer is no. This calls to mind the answer of Pope Francis when that's the answer. female journalist asked him if women can ever become priests. And Pope Francis had a reputation as pretty liberal, pretty progressive, comes from Latin America,

he was Jesuit. And so probably the female journalist thought there was a good shot. He'd say yes. And he just looks at her, takes a bit. And no. And no female priests. No, sorry. Can people like me come here to seek a better life?

Zimor says no. This seems harsh. This will seem harsh even to many conservatives. They say, well, no, how could you say that to a person? No, they don't have a right to come here for a better life. Zamoire's a very serious French politician. He didn't win. He ran for president in 2022.

He didn't come in first or second. But he is the head of a French political party. He's an important voice in France. And his answer is totally right. And here's why it's right. Even if, even if you don't literally believe that a nation should be totally closed off to anyone coming to it to seek a better life. Right now, the norm is.

is migration. Right now the norm is open borders. The exception is deportation. Even when you get a popularly elected president with unified government who was elected on a program of mass deportation, even under those circumstances, in the United States at least, you can have one random federal district judge out of 700 put a halt to that program. It's so hard. It's hard to deport the violent criminal illegal aliens. It's hard to deport the Haitians here on temporary protection that expired 14 years ago. It's so, so hard to deport anybody. And so obviously what we have to establish is the reverse of that situation. The norm has to be closed border. The norm has to be no migration. The norm has to be if you are here illegally, or even if you're here legally but you commit a crime,

you are deported like 37 seconds later. That has to be the norm. Even if you want, especially if you want a situation where an exceptional case can come through. If you want that situation, you have to establish the norm of no. So it might seem harsh when Zemore says, no, sorry. But it's refreshing, I think, for a lot of people who see the situation with political clarity. And it underscores how difficult the immigration issue is. Even as we realize we have the highest foreign-born percentage of the population ever.

The very best of many of these immigrant communities are criminals. We talked about it yesterday in Minnesota. The guy who won the Somali Refugee of the Year Award from a Minnesota agency was a major fraudster. He was just indicted on like eight felonies and maybe a sex trafficking ring. So it's just the whole system is full of such corruption that you have to say, no, no, no, nobody gets. gets in. And maybe just maybe there will be some exception based upon whoever happens to be the political ruler at the time, based upon the sovereign, I suppose. Okay, before we go, there is a story I have to get to, speaking of men and women. The owner of the San Francisco 49ers,

this is a very wealthy guy. He's worth about half a billion dollars. He's run the 49ers for a long time. He owns the 49ers. He just got caught going to see a hooker in a trade. Railer Park in Ohio. The details are he didn't even really contest it. He literally didn't contest it. He pled no contest. Now, he didn't plead no contest to doing whatever with a hooker. He pled no contest to lesser charges of disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools. Because he had his phone on him, and I guess he had arranged this hooker encounter on the cell phone. and then the disorderly conduct was was pleading down this charge of prostitution. According to the report, he, quote, responded to an ad on a known prostitution website in Columbiana County, Ohio,

and arranged to have sexual activity with a female in exchange for 140 bucks. Now, just a slight digression, we've had a lot of discourse on affordability. You know, the Democrats have made a big deal about affordability in the midterms. We talk about the price of burritos. $140. Seems pretty cheap. I don't know. I don't know the going rate

for prostitution, period. And I certainly don't know the going rate in a trailer park in Ohio. But that, for, I don't know the specificity of the acts, that seems like a pretty reasonable price for vice and crime. Anyway, we'll sidebar that. Much as it does not behoove leftist politicians

to bring up circumcision when they're talking about genital mutilation. Probably it doesn't behoove anyone to bring up hook. when it comes to affordability. Nevertheless, he admits he did this. The guy, the owner of the 49ers, goes to the meeting location in East Palestine, Ohio, which was the site of that terrible spill, remember a few years ago. Then he was taken into custody, and he had a cell phone, so they caught him. Okay. What everyone thinks right off the bat is, why would he do that? Why would he do that? He's the man who

has everything. He's rich. He is successful. He's kind of famous. He, why would, that is the last thing that a rich, successful kind of famous guy should be doing. He has everything. But he doesn't have a hooker in a trailer park in Ohio. The question that they ask is who, who in his shoes would do that? And the answer, the very uncomfortable answer that we should all recognize is basically everyone under the right circumstances. That's who. Drew has this great line that he's used for years, which is that every man has two drinks and a wink away from ruining his life.

The other great Drew line on this, as he tells this joke about the guy who wants to have an orange for a head, I won't recite the entire joke, but the point is about the absurdity and depravity of human desire. Under the right circumstances, every single guy would go visit a hooker in a trailer park in Ohio. Even though that seems like basically the great, thing you could possibly do. And it's so reckless. And you'd be giving away so... This guy's married,

you know, he's got kids. You know, it's just, it's just going to ruin all their lives. And yet, people do it. Remember, Hugh Grant got caught with a hooker. Hugh Grant, at the height of his fame, darling of romantic comedies, gets caught with some hooker in a car. And apparently he got caught because he was pushing the brake too much and the cops saw the lights going on and off. Just the stupidest behavior. Gets to something we were talking about on the show yesterday, which is that sin darkens the intellect, it dulls the mind. St. Thomas's observation that there's no such thing as a smart sinner. The more you sin, the dumber you get. And so what the political takeaway from, I haven't even said this guy's name, because I really feel bad for this guy, that he ruined his life

this way. You can look it up. I mean, it's a pretty big news story. But I just use him as an example because it gives us the political principle that if we're all like kind of depraved and we all have these disordered desires, some more than others, some differently than others, but we all got him to some degree. Then the way to avoid his fate is to stop the vice before it sets in. That's the real issue. I promise you that this guy looks at a ton of pornography. I promise you that this guy does not have the most robust religious life, not even to sound holier than now or super pious or anything. It's just, but at a very basic level, religious discipline, generally speaking, keeps

you a few steps away from this. For a guy who never looks at any porn, controls his thoughts, avert his eyes when a woman is immodest, a guy who recognizes that idle hands are the devil's playground, and he's going to daily mass, and he's, for a guy who's doing all of these things, it's not that he could never end up in a trailer park in Ohio with a hooker, but the odds are much, much lower than they are for the guy who drinks a lot, who doesn't sleep very well, who rarely sees his family, who doesn't take his moral views very seriously, who doesn't ask God for grace, who all of those things are going to make it much, much more likely that you're going to engage in that.

And so then the final point on this is there's obviously a role for the church here. There's a role in the community and impelling people to go to church and take their family live seriously and but there's also a role for the government if the government had shut down the hooker websites this guy would not have found this hooker who was actually a cop if we clamp down if not outright outlawed but clamp down a little bit on things like prostitution that that would not exist if i think most importantly in this case if we regulated pornography so that guys weren't engaging in this stuff in these temptations in the first place.

If we did all of that, the 49ers guy's life would be much better, his wife's life would be better, his kid's life would be better, the trailer park would be better, the whole political community would be better. And the only two forces that are stopping us from doing that

are the left on the one hand, which supports all manner of vice, especially sexual vice. And the squishy right, which says, that, you know, as long as he's not hurting anybody and he's not, you know, making me pay for it, he can go visit any hookers in any trailer parks he wants, you know, the kind of laissez-faire, neutral liberal view.

But then we can't act surprise when this happens. And by the way, if you have a country filled with people who are going to hookers in trailer parks in Ohio, you're going to have a bad country. Because those people do not possess the wisdom. They do not possess the clarity of vision. and they don't possess the moral discipline to have self-government. That is almost explicitly the warning of our founding fathers and the framers of our Constitution.

Pity for that guy, so we should pray for him. You know, everybody involved his whole family and everything. But we should also do something about it politically.
