But now the word has evolved once more into a euphemism for suicide against a patient's will, which we used to call murder.

Absolutely horrifying, scandalous, totally predictable story coming out of Canada. an 83-year-old grandmother has been euthanized against her will up in Canada. Euthanized against her will is not just a euphemism. It's a double euphemism. A euphemism is a nice word. It's a good-sounding word that covers up a harsh reality. This is indeed much the subject of my best-selling books, speechless, controlling words, controlling minds available at a bookstore near you.

the euphemisms cover up harsh realities with nice words. Euthanasia is one of those euphemisms. Euthanasia uses the same prefix, E, U, meaning good. It's supposed to be the good death. Now, for most of our history, a good death is not just some instantaneous death that catches us unawares. It's certainly not a suicide. The good death was the death that you could plan for.

Weirdly, now we say the good death is like a piano falls on your head from the sky. in most of the history of our civilization, a good death would have been the kind of death that you see coming. It would have been a long-terminal illness. And the reason that was considered the good death is so that you can get your affairs in order, your temporal affairs and your eternal affairs, that you can confess your sins, you can die in friendship with God, and you can look forward to being with God in heaven forever. Now, because our civilization doesn't believe in God anymore, now we've totally flipped that on its head. So we use this word euthanasia to mean suicide, which is the very worst death because suicide is the ultimate act of despair. It's an extremely grave sin, so that has eternal consequences. But even for people who aren't that religious, even just at a very human, terrestrial kind of level, it's really sad, right? It's the final thing you do in your sojourn on earth is given to despair.

You kill yourself. It's the very worst possible death. Now, though, it's gone further, and it apparently means murder. So there's this woman. We know this has been exclusive in the Daily Mail, written by this woman's family. They say, our 83-year-old Christian grandmother was euthanized against her will under Canada's assisted dying system. She died covered in blood with her hands clasped in prayer. I won't go through the whole article.

As you can see, it's pretty lengthy. I encourage you to read the whole thing on your own time. This is really, really horrifying. We know that a few years ago, Canada legalized, doctorate. or assisted suicide. And all of us social conservatives were warning, this is not death with dignity. This is not just keeping very, very sick, very, very old people from the last few days of suffering. This is going to be expanded. This is how a lot of people are going to die. Now, one in 20 Canadians who die each year, die via government sanctioned suicide. That number is only going to increase. And it's not just going to be

the people in their absolute perfect right mind or who are in excruciating pain who can expect to die within hours or days. No, no, this is going to be expanded to start preying on vulnerable people. People who are not fully in command of their mental faculties, people who are young, people who are depressed, people who the state just doesn't want to pay for because in Canada, they have a socialist health care system, and people are expensive. It's expensive to take care of people. So there's this very perverse incentive to just shuffle people off, especially because end-of-life care constitutes the bulk, the lion's share of health care spending. So if you can kill people a little bit earlier, the state is going to save a lot of money.

money. Two days before this Christian grandmother was killed by doctors in Canada, her granddaughter sat her down and told her what was going to happen. She said, do you know that you're going to die on Friday? And the 83-year-old granny, who was suffering from dementia, was in disbelief and she started sobbing for 45 minutes. She said, I've made a mistake. She was bawling, inconsolable, according to the granddaughter. Now, it wasn't the granddaughter who pushed this on her. It wasn't the family that pushed us on her. It was the assisted living facility that she was at. The assisted living facility goes in, apparently just dupes the grandmother. According to this report, the assisted living facility just goes in and starts using all of these other euphemisms. They go up to where they say,

hey, you're going to be at peace. We're going to do something. You're going to be at peace. You're not going to feel pain anymore. The assisted living facility wouldn't even talk about death in blunt terms. That's all point of a euphemism, is you don't talk about the harsh reality. And this grandmother who took a cognitive test, failed all of the questions, didn't know how many siblings she had, didn't know who the prime minister was, didn't know much of anything. She was led by these monsters at the assisted living facility into agreeing to kill herself. Forty-eight hours after she was weeping uncontrollably at the notion of Dr. Assisted suicide, she died with her hands clasped in prayer covered in her own blood. Why was there blood? Well, the reason there was blood is because these

terrible nurses were just trying to stick her full of IVs so they could administer the poison. And they weren't hit in veins. So they were just kind of roughly stabbing her wherever they could to make sure the poison was going in. This was causing a lot of blood to come out. Apparently, not to be too graphic about it, but apparently the bed was covered in blood, the pillowcase, the clothing, and the granddaughter observes the nurse wasn't even wearing gloves. And you might say, well, this is just barbaric. This is clearly a problem of the implementation of this policy by the nurse. I mean, the nurse wasn't wearing gloves, to which I would say, why would the nurse wear gloves? The reason a nurse would wear gloves in sticking a needle into someone's vein is to prevent the person whose vein they're sticking it into from getting an infection.

Because the purpose of medical care is to care for people, to treat people, to make them healthier. But this is the opposite of medical care. We call it medical care. It's another euphemism. But it's not. These are executioners. These are murderers. These are hit men.

So they don't really care if they infect the granny. grant, though, if the procedure goes well, the granny's going to be dead within minutes. So why, okay, she got a little infection at the end. There was a phenomenal amount of blood, says the family, all over grandma's arm, nighty, so on and so forth. Then, this is, I'll leave it here. You can read the other lurid details on your own. After the needle was fitted in, the 83-year-old repeatedly ripped it off, screaming, I don't want the death shot. But she was killed anyway. This recalls a similar scene. that happened in Belgium. You hear other reports about this out of the Netherlands as

Dr. Assisted Suicide has spread throughout the West. A general rule of thumb, the more flowery the euphemism, the more brutal the reality. That's just across the board. We talk about butchering little babies in the womb. What do we call it? We call it a woman's choice. That was the initial one. A woman's choice. A woman's right to choose. Right to choose what? I had the right to choose eggs or pancakes for my breakfast this morning. Is that what we're talking about? No, we're talking about a woman killing a baby. Then right to choose, because of the euphemism treadmill,

because the underlying brutal reality of these procedures eventually comes to people's attention again, they just have to swap out the euphemism. So women's right to choose became women's health. Is it health? It's the opposite of health. Health is when you make someone better. Abortion or euthanasia-assisted suicide is when you kill somebody. There's totally opposite things.

When I call my grandma up, I say, hey, grandma, how you doing? She says, oh, you know, it's a little tough. I've got some aches and pains. My friends died. But hey, at least I have my right to abortion. Does she say that? No, she says, at least I have my health. But those are different things. Another one we've heard in recent years is gender affirming care. What is gender affirming care? What is gender affirming care is when I go out and smoke a cigar and shoot guns. I'm a man. I affirm my gender. I affirm my gender. I'm a manly thing. I don't know. I'll watch a baseball game. Have a drink. It's gender affirming care. That's not what they mean. by it, though, gender-affirming care is when you chop off someone's genitals and make them seem like the opposite gender. That's the opposite of what gender-affirming care would be. The flowery or the euphemism, the more brutal the underlying reality, time and time again. That is a very reliable rule. So in this case, we have the euphemisms of death with dignity. Of course, suicide is the exact opposite. It is the least dignified way to die possible. If you're getting shipped off on the boxcars by some dictator. That's a very unpleasant way to die, but there's a kind of dignity to it. You are not participating in your own death. You are standing as a man. If you're an early Christian martyr

being fed to the lions in the Coliseum, that's a very unpleasant way to die, but there's a dignity to it. You're standing on your feet, praising your God. You're one of those Coptic Christians getting your head chopped off by ISIS, but you're shouting out the name of your savior. That's a dignified way to go, even if it's a little painful. This is the opposite. This sometimes is not painful. Clearly, sometimes it is if you look at this woman, but it's deeply undignified. The last thing you're doing on earth is giving up. You have to ask yourself. I mean, the pro-life movement asks this, once we dig through all the euphemisms on abortion, we say, do we want to live in a country that murders a million babies a year?

Because you know what abortion really is? It's like going into a woman. It's a doctor going into a woman and like crushing skulls and ripping off body parts and injecting poison that burns the skin on. I mean, again, I don't want to be too vivid, but I guess the whole point of discussing the story is to get past the haze of euphemism into the vivid reality so that we can determine whether or not we want that. I think if most people in this country confronted the reality of abortion, we would not have abortion, or abortion would be severely limited geographically and in scope. The way that they get away with promoting abortion is by, you know, pulling a wizard of Oz trick and not allowing people to see what's really behind the curtain.

Same thing here. Medical assistance in dying, youth in Asia, death with dignity, if people knew what this really was, which is praying on old people, praying on sick people, praying on retarded people, praying on desperate and depressed people, if they knew what that really was, we would not tolerate it. Indeed, we did not tolerate it for the vast majority of our civilization's history. and now we've given up. It's not just a particular suicide. It's not just the institutionalization of suicide. It is a civilizational suicide.

Do you want to be in the civilization that murders granny? No, I don't either. Well, what that means is we have to eliminate. We have to fight vigorously on all fronts against even the slightest little hint of a liberalization, a legalization of assisted suicide. It is wrong in itself. It's not just that it's gone too far. It's not just that the nurse is screwed up. It is intrinsically wrong. Okay. Speaking of showing people the door, President Trump has just kicked a bunch of liberal reporters out of the White House. And the liberals, of course, are furious about this. But even plenty of squishes on the right are upset about this too. Even the supposedly conservative news organizations are protesting this. I think they're just getting the history totally, totally wrong. They're retconning it with a bunch of liberal piffle. And we'll clear up the actual relation of the press to the White House. President Trump announces that effective immediately he is banning fake news CNN, MS Now, which recently changed its name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility.

And Politico, recipients of money under Joe Biden, details that whole scandal from the White House as a result of their constant reporting of fake news. Media outlets should not be able to constantly write or report fiction and lies when they're covering the President of the United States, the Trump administration or the United States of America, other fake news media outlets to follow. So they're losing it.

The libs are losing. I was on Chris Cuomo show last night. We were debating this. And Chris said, you know, this strikes at the very heart of the First Amendment. It was funny too. Chris and I got into a little quibble about Dante, which is very funny because, as you may know, I love Dante. Chris apparently wrote his senior thesis in college on Dante. But he said, in Dante, the lowest levels of hell are reserved for the hypocrites and the traitors. And I said, well, hold on. He said, Michael, you're a hypocrite. That's what he was implying, because I'm a journalist. Technically, I'm a journalist. And so I should stand with my fellow journalists and demand that MSNBC get a seat at the White House. He said, Dante would have put you in the lowest circles of hell. I said, no, no, no, no, no. The lowest circles of hell are not just reserved for the hypocrites. The Malibolje, the Eighth Circle, is reserved broadly for fraud for fraudsters, people who perpetuate fraud, counselors of fraud.

So that might include the hypocrites, but even more serious than that, it's the people who perpetuate fraud, which is an argument to kick these people out of the White House because they are fraudsters. All of these liberal outlets that Trump is pushing out, He's pushing them out because he says they're not reporting the truth. And so there are two arguments to defend this. One is they're big libs and we don't like what they're saying about the White House. And so on an ideological basis, we're going to kick them out. I have no problem with that in principle, but it's going to fall into legal hurdles because there was a circuit court decision in 1977 that said that once the White House opens its doors to the press, it can't discriminate

based on viewpoint. Barack Obama discriminated based on viewpoint when he excluded Fox News from an interview back in 2009. Joe Biden discriminated on viewpoint when he spiked a press pass for the New York Post in 2023. All sorts of presidents do it. This is a broader instantiation of that. The press has no actual right to go to the White House. We didn't have formal press White House passes for over 100 years of our nation's history in the beginning. The first presidential press conference, I think, was 1913 under Woodrow Wilson. So, you know, the courts have ruled again and again and again, there is no constitutional right of the press to have access to the White House. They can report on the White House all they want. Trump isn't stopping that. But they have no right

to proximity. But the court ruled in 77, once the White House opens the doors to the press, you can't discriminate based on viewpoint. So I think that argument is going to be a little bit weaker. However, there is another argument that we could make that I think is much stronger. And even if the court's overrule it, I think it carries some weight. Vice President J.D. Vance, was answering questions about this decision. And he came out and defended the administration's policy. Right, President, so CNN, MSN, MSN, Politico are now suing over the ban. Do you think it's appropriate for the president to be banning media outlets just because he doesn't like what they report? Well, I take some issue with the premise. So he's not banning media outlets. What he's doing is saying, we're not going to give you special access to the White House if you engage in what is effectively propaganda.

We have to remember those three outlets account about 92 percent of the stories that they have on the President of the United States. States on the administration are negative. That's not representative of the American people. It's not representative of a public opinion. So if you're going to engage in what is effectively far-left propaganda, why would a Republican White House give you special access? Sir, you talked a lot about free speech over the years. How is it not an attack on free speech? Well, they can still report on the Trump White House. They can still get the public reports. They can still, of course, talk to people in the administration and outside the administration. What the president has said is we're not going to give you special access inside the White House.

Okay, so great point. And J.D. Vance is totally right on the historical precedent here. The press has no right to proximity to access to the White House. Some of the administration's defenders are being totally open on the ideological line. They're saying, yeah, Trump doesn't like that CNN and MSNBC and Politico are pushing a liberal anti-Trump agenda, so he's going to kick them out. Again, I don't care. To me, kicking a few reporters out of the White House is a good start. Not only is it not a grave violation of the First Amendment, I think it's a good start. I think we need to kick more people at. By the way, I was around in 2021 when the Daily Wire repeatedly asked the Biden administration for a press pass and was repeatedly denied. I was around in 2021 when the Daily Wire was the biggest news publisher on the biggest news platform, Facebook, on all of social media, and somehow we kept getting denied a press pass. Do you think that was because we were irrelevant? or do you think that was because the Biden administration was discriminating against us along ideological lines? It was obviously the latter. But you could go further. You could make a more solid case from the Trump administration and say, the reason that Trump is kicking out these reporters is one, they're very limited seats. There are thousands of news outlets and reporters who want access to the White House. There are only 50 seats in the briefing room, many fewer seats on Air Force One and in the Oval Office. So you have to ration them somehow. And CNN, MSNBC Politico, beyond the ideological basis, they just get the stories wrong. They are incompetent very often in their reporting. Think about going all the way back

to the first Trump administration to 2017. Think about just the retractions. Think about just the stories that these outlets ran that were so egregious they had to pull them. 2017, CNN said that the Senate was investigating Trump for taking money from the Russians. You remember that one? Probably you don't. There have been so many fake news stories. You don't even remember it. CNN had to retract that one. CNN also said Trump colluded with WikiLeaks to get those DNC emails that were allegedly hacked. They had to retract that one. That was false.

Politico ran a story, said Trump owed the Bank of China, tens of millions of dollars. That was totally false. MSNBC said a similar story that Russian oligarchs co-signed a loan for Donald Trump. That one they had to pull. MSNBC reported that Tulsi Gabbard once said that Trump and Putin were very good friends.

They had to pull that one. all of these outlets were misreporting information on the steel dossier on Hunter Biden's laptop, on and on and on. Hunter Biden's laptop, that story totally covered up by the press. A post-2020 election report showed that had the public known about the Hunter Biden laptop, had the press not covered it up, Trump would have won the election. It was a 12-point swing, according to the after-election report. So in any case, I think you'd make a pretty narrow argument here that the press are just bad at their jobs. even beyond ideology. Again, full cards on the table, I don't care about kicking people out on based on ideology.

I think the 1977 court decision is ridiculous. I think viewpoint neutrality generally is ridiculous. I don't think that you can have a government based on pure neutral procedures rather than substantive goods. So I think that's crazy. But even given all of that, this is the way to get them. That's the way to hit them. What Trump is, where's your solidarity with MSNBC? I have. have no solidarity with MSNBC. Now, speaking of very, very confused liberal journalists, Nicole Hannah-Jones, the liberal journalist of our era, the woman who writes for the New York Times,

wrote the 1619 project that sought to reframe American history and transform it from a story of settling and freedom and liberty and justice for all, so to reframe that and say that America is essentially all about slavery, the country did not begin in 1607 with Jamestown. It didn't begin in 1620 with the Mayflower, which is a great cigar, by the way. It began in 1619 when the first slave ship arrived. And the American Revolution was not fought to defend our freedoms, to assert our rights as Englishmen, to defend our American way of life. No, no, it was fought to preserve slavery. A claim that was so insane that even left-wing academic historians wrote into the New York Times said, this is totally

baseless. Months and months later, after millions of dollars of promotion, after this stupid report had entered into curricula around the country. Months and months later, the New York Times had to retract their story or correct it and say, yeah, actually, okay, we got that wrong. The American Revolution was not fought to defend slavery. In any case, Nicole Hannah-Jones has been doing a little introspection. And Nicole Hannah-Jones realizes she's done something very, very wrong. In order to promote her own leftist policies, specifically around education, she admits she betrayed her own daughter. She sacrificed her own daughter's education.

She sent her to a public school that she knew was bad rather than the better schools that she could have gotten into, the private schools that she could have afforded it. She sent her to a school she knew was bad, sacrificed her education, betrayed her kid, sacrificed her kid to the left-wing political revolution. And it was all for nothing. We'll get to that delightful introspection.

Nicole Hannah-Jones. Another very lengthy report. Not that I encourage people to read the New York Times, but this one's pretty good. In fighting for every black child, did I betray my own? A decade ago, I made a decision about my daughter's education that I hoped would challenge New York City's separate

and equal, unequal school system. Now 16, she thinks I made the wrong choice. the daughter turns to her one day because Nicole Hannah-Jones could have sent her to a private school, could have moved, gotten her into a better school, could have done all. You know, New York City public schools are terrible.

And she didn't. Nicole Hannah-Jones sent her specifically to a bad school. Because, I guess the charitable read is because Nicole Hannah-Jones really believed in the revolution, really believed that we all, we need to undergo a little bit of pain.

We can't take special, privileges for our own. We can't pursue special privileges. No, no. We need to all be invested in the average, even the very worst of the institutions in our society so that we can foment the revolutionary spirit and change them and especially get more funding for these schools which are failing because of political neglect because we won't send them enough money. So whatever it was, you could say that's the charitable read. The less charitable read of what Nicole Hannah-Jones did is she realized she was a very prominent left-wing activist and journalist and public figure, and she would look like a hypocrite if she sent her kid to the good school that she knew was better for her daughter.

And so, having to choose between her own public reputation, the adulation of her audience and the crowds, and the good of her daughter, she sacrificed her daughter. I said, I don't want to look like a hypocrite. Yeah, it'd be better for my daughter if I sent her to the good school, but I care more about what strangers on the internet think of me. I care more about what the crowds think about. I care about more about my own career than I care about my daughter's well-being. That's the less charitable way to read what Nicole Hannah-Jones did. In any case, the daughter figured it out. And the daughter said, you had money to send me to one of the best schools and you chose not to because other kids are disadvantaged. You didn't want to put me

in a great school? And the answer is yes. She said, Nicole Hannah-Jones says, when it comes to the choices my husband and I made about public education. These days I feel that I failed both my values and my child. And then the daughter really twists the knife. It's heartbreaking. She says, sometimes I wish instead of always thinking about other kids, you would have thought about me. I never really got the education I wanted. Sometimes I wish instead of only focusing on other kids, you would have thought about me. I talked about it yesterday or two days ago on the show. This is the essential difference between the left and the right. It's that heat map. The essential difference is patriotism in the fullest sense. Conservatives love their country. They love their families.

They are more inclined to love those who are closer to them than those who are further away, which unites both of those ideas, patriotism and care for family. The left is much more likely, at least to say that they care about people further away from them than about those who are close. So the left cares about Tibetan independence. The left cares about freeing Palestine, but they don't care about freedom in their own country. They don't care about the well-being of their own countrymen. The leftists, they're happy to go do a service trip to Nicaragua or Djibouti, but they're not going to show up to Thanksgiving because they don't like their family members.

It's that heat map of affection, what the vice president talked about a year ago, the Ordo Amoris, the Order of Loves, which comes from the Bible, from Scripture. St. Paul is writing. He says, you know, you need to care for your own. Those of you do not take care of the people over whom you have direct responsibility, you're like a pagan. That's the essential difference. And so she says, shoot, you know, I'm filled with regret. You're right. I sacrificed my daughter for a bunch of strangers. But it's even worse than that. Because Nicole Hannah-Jones' whole point is that these bad schools are only bad because they've been politically neglected. We've all failed those schools because we're not demanding the political change to get them

the funding and the teachers they deserve. Daniel Di Martino had a great bit on this from the Manhattan Institute. He found that the elementary school that Nicole Hannah-Jones sent a kid to, Daniel Hale-William Elementary School, spends a lot of money on education. Do you know how much per pupil per year? $52,000. You can basically send a kid to Harvard for that. Send a kid to Yale, Stanford. $52,000. Do you know what the average teacher salary is at that elementary school,

the supposedly underfunded poor school that the polity is filled? The average teacher salary is $100 grand a year, and you get summers off. And you're out by three. That school's not underfunded. You could make an argument that it's severely, overfunded. You could send your kid to one of the best private schools in the country for $52,000 a year. There's some other problem with those schools. Maybe that problem pertains to the culture of

the neighborhoods that they live in. Maybe that problem pertains to the way the parents raise their kids in those neighborhoods. Maybe there are other problems. Whatever it is, though, it's not the funding. Do you know what the student-to-teacher ratio is there? It's like nine to one. It's pretty good. Better than the school that I grew up in. And I went to a very good school, a very good public school when I was a kid. She was just totally wrong. She betrayed her daughter for nothing. And that's one of the great tragedies of liberalism and leftism. They're just wrong about the facts. You know, they actually just get it wrong on how to improve society. But furthermore, they're willing to sacrifice. the people that they actually have responsibility for, for an abstraction, for a phantasm, for an illusion. Your, I don't know, cousin, sister, daughter, whatever, your very liberal family member will write off her family.

This has been a big theme in the last five, ten years, going no contact. It's a fad fashionable among political leftists to cut off their families over political abstractions. Your cousin is not going to show up to Christmas dinner because of what you think about Palestine or something or Ukraine or I don't know, whatever. Practically speaking, none of that is real.

And you make real sacrifices. You do real harm. You commit real injustice in the practical world for them. Unfortunately, I'm glad Nicole Hannah-Jones being a little introspective here. Unfortunately, it's almost certainly not going to change her views about anything. But at least you get a slight maya culpa here. In fighting for every black child, did I betray my own? The problem for her is, yes, you did betray your own and you weren't even fighting for every black child. What? Should the school spend $53,000 a year per pupil instead of

52? Do you think that's going to fix it? I don't think you're not, it was all just a waste. You wasted your ten years. You wasted your daughters. education. You wasted your career. Not too late to change, but you got to come to grips with that fact. Okay. Speaking of changes of heart, Thomas Massey once rated the most conservative member of Congress. He was a libertarian, so he got a great amount of curve, but it was pretty hardcore. We all liked Thomas Massey. We all thought he was a real right-wing fighter, at least for a little while there. He then started turning on Trump a little bit. Trump started turning on him. Then they had had a face off to see who really rules the Republican Party, the ideological warrior Thomas Massey,

or Donald Trump turns out Trump runs the Republican Party. So Massey's losing his seat. And on his way out, he's essentially becoming a resistance lib. It's like so sad. But beyond Massey and Trump and anything, Massey's turn is telling you a lot about how politics actually works. And we were just talking about ideology. Let me tell you, it's not chiefly about ideology. my favorite comment. I actually didn't pick a favorite comment yesterday. I was running late. I'm a little, you know, I'm a little over-scheduled right now. We're waiting. Noel's Baby number four. I've put off all of my commitments until the last minute. Thomas Massey, as part of his long goodbye to the U.S. Congress is now weighing in on efforts to pass the Save America Act, and amid his generally conservative libertarian rhetoric, he sneaks in some weird left-wing talking points. We're in the majority. Why are we whining about the Save Act? I voted for the Save Act two or three times as many times as you want to put it on the floor. Senate's not going to pass it, but we won the elections. Why are we saying the elections were stolen if we won them all? We have a conservative majority in the Supreme Court. We have a Republican in the White House.

We have a Republican majority here. A Republican majority in the Senate. We're complaining that the elections were stolen. And we are calling off Congress? Calling off Congress and we're in the majority? I would implore my Republican colleagues to take that up with our leadership. But I would implore all of us to take it up with the leadership. Why are we going to be denied a debate?

debate on whether this should be an impeachment or not. Here we go. He was talking about the impeachment, by the way, of Pete Heggseth. The Democrats are rallying around the Democrats and Thomas Massey are trying to impeach Pete Heg Seth for some reason, whatever. Notice in here. He says, look, I voted for the Save Act. Okay, that's a conservative thing to say. He says, Congress should not adjourn. Yeah, okay, that's a conservative thing to say. he says

Congress, Republicans have the majority, we should be doing more. Okay, it's a conservative thing to say. And he says, wait a second. We don't even need the safe act. We won the elections. Why are you trying to say they were rigged? Whoa, hold up, buddy. You just undermine all that other stuff you said.

You're saying, yeah, I voted for the save act, but it doesn't matter. You're saying, yeah, these Republicans who say that Democrats rigged the elections in pretty obvious ways that we all saw in 2020, when they changed all the voting rules and took away a lot of the protections and in some cases violated state constitutions like we saw in Pennsylvania. Now he's saying, no, actually, none of that really happened and Republicans are whining about nothing. And there's really no reason to pass the Save Act. I mean, I'll vote for it, but there's no reason to.

We got a new Liz Cheney coming in here, as far as I'm concerned. Set your clocks. We are, put a mark on the calendar. We got a new Adam Kinsinger coming in here. He's not there yet. Massey is far preferable to Liz Cheney and Adam Kinsinger for now. but he's trending in that direction. Why does he keep trending that way?

Why is it that two years ago, Thomas Massey was voted by various publications and think tanks to be the most right-wing member of Congress? And then a year after that, he's palling around with Roe Kana to go after the Trump administration. Ro Kana, who's one of the slimyest Democrats, liberal Democrats in Congress. And then a year after that,

he's saying that we don't really, need to pass the Save Act that Republican objections to voter rigging is where election ringing is, is they're fake? It's not real. When's he going to go on MSNBC? Maybe he'll become the new MSNBC White House reporter once he leaves Congress. What's going on here? I don't want to be too harsh on Massey because Massey is just being subject to the way that politics works. And it's contrary to to the way a lot of us think politics works. We think that politics is about ideology. We think ideology leads it, and then by our ideology, we join voter coalitions, and those voter coalitions play into political parties, and then we try to win elections.

That's not actually how it works. What is primary, what is fundamental to politics, is not actually ideology. What is fundamental to politics is the coalition, is the party, is the team. It's the practical that is primary, not the ideology. the theoretical, not the ideological. Liz Cheney, Adam Kinsinger, all these guys. George Will, George Will, oh my goodness.

George Will was the preeminent conservative columnist. It wrote for the Washington Post for many, many years, went on all of the news shows. He was the very serious bow tie wearing glasses having conservative columnist. Did debate prep with Ronald Reagan, wrote the book, Statecraft as Soulcraft. Now he's endorsing some random Democrat for a congressman. Congress because he doesn't like the Republican. Oh, sorry, not for Congress, for the Senate,

because he doesn't like Darlene Graham because he feels icky about voting for her because he thinks she's stupid or something. She would be a reliable Republican, but no, he's going to vote for some Democrat who wants to trans the kids and kill babies up until the moment of birth and flood the country with foreign nationals, because why? How has he changed so much? George Will is now a libertarian. He's not even a Republican. How do you even become a libertarian? The guy wrote a book called statecraft as soulcraft, the much more classically conservative view that politics actually shapes our souls and the purpose of government is to inculcate virtue. How do you go from that to being a libertarian where you say the whole point of the government is just to leave me alone?

And how do you go from being a libertarian to being effectively a Democrat? Well, I don't know. It's happening to Massey right now too. The reason is that he got booted off the team because on a very practical matter. He started going up against Trump, and he started being a thorn in the side of Trump, and then Trump got a little tough with Massey. And then Massey decided he was going to leave his old friends and make new friends like Rocana. And then he starts hanging around with his new friends. You're the average of the five people you spend the most time with. And now all of a sudden he sounds like a resistance lib. Get him a pink hat. That's how it works. I feel bad for Massey. Listen to Marjorie Taylor Green. Marjorie Taylor Green was a little bit eccentric, but a

reliable conservative MAGA Republican vote. Now she's auditioning to get a role on the view. Why is that happening? It makes perfect sense. Because she got booted off the team. She kind of left the team. She had attention with the team she was on. She joined a new team and her rhetoric and perhaps her ideas and massies and so forth are going to follow that. That's how politics actually works. And so when people say that MAGA, it's, you know, the problem with MAGA is it's about one man rather than a set of ideas. Yeah, well, that's just true of politics. The conservative movement has embraced all sorts of policies over the years. We were, the conservatives in America were anti-free trade, then we were pro-free trade, then we were kind of anti-free trade again. We were harshly anti-immigration,

then we were pro-legal immigration, then we were kind of pro-illegal immigration. Now we're immigration restrictionists again. When the post-war conservative movement was founded, we were anti-academic freedom. The whole book that launched the post-war conservative movement got a man at Yale was against academic freedom. It was in favor of firing professors based on their views. Certainly wasn't defending viewpoint neutrality.

Now we embrace academic freedom because we think that tactically it'll help us. But it's not politics, even the principled conservative movement, the most bow-tie-weety-wearing conservatives, would have to, in a moment of candor, admit that even their own principled movement is not chiefly about policy and ideology. It's a team. It's a team trying to win power to do the good that can be done today, grounded in eternal truths, but based on also changing circumstances. Okay. Speaking of those policies, we have a Democrat Senate candidate who is today likely to win,

who is admitting, he's running on affordability. That's what we're going. what all the Democrats are running on. But he's admitting that he wants to make your health care more expensive. And that guy right now looks like he's going to win. James Tala Rico, who says, got his non-binary, it looks like he's going to win in Texas. Because the president's approval rating is dipping very, very low. I think there are three causes for that. It, it, Republicans have to start to shift a little bit in the midterms. I don't know if there's enough time or if they have enough discipline to do it. But it's coming to a head right now. This could be a Democrat title wave, but we don't have time to get into it today, so that's my little tease. We'll have to get to it tomorrow
