This is the first first Hollywood movie that's come out in, gosh, I don't know, 20 years that everyone is talking about, everyone is eagerly anticipating. It's this documentary about Elizabeth Holmes. Elizabeth Holmes, who is this sociopathic founder of Theranos, a fraud health care company starting in 2003. She defrauded all of these really smart, rich people. She defrauded Henry Kissinger, George Schultz, Jim Mattis, all these guys who were who were serving on the board. She cost gazillions of dollars. She was fedded as this amazing rising young star, this millennial woman, founder, CEO, and it was all

totally fake. So right before she goes to prison, she has a kid, just two kids actually. And in the 11 or so days before she has to go to prison for 11 years, she decides, instead of spending a lot of time with her family, she's going to involve. a documentary filmmaker Nathan Felder to just spend the whole time with her. And this is the portrait that people can't get enough of. You've never been suspicious that she's ever lied to you. No, ever. I still have this weird feeling that there's some things that I'm not seeing. It's because I don't have anything to hide. I know what you're feeling. No, you don't. I may think about this movie for the rest of my life, says one.

I'm... ...to be okay with... I'm... ...with letting someone see me cry. Says, oh, yeah, it took a long time to get comfortable with someone seeing me cry. This is a woman who never blinks. She just stares at you at this uncanny awkwardness. And then, just as she said that, she blinks three times and squeezes out of tear right on cue,

it's deeply unsettling. So the movie's called You Can See Everything. And Nice Artistic Choice. That phrase, doesn't totally fit on the screen. Why are people so fascinated with it? In part, it's because everyone's fascinated by sociopaths, because sociopaths just operate differently than we do, and in an egalitarian age where we all believe in a tabla rasa, that all people are born exactly the same, and any differences in outcomes are merely attributable to society. This is why

the libs are always taking the side of criminals over perpetrators is because for them, everyone's born exactly the same because they ultimately deny original sin. So if something goes wrong, it has to be something that was done to the criminal. It can't be something that they were just born with. It can't just be a bad inclination. It can't be bad choices that they've made along the way. It always has to be something that was done to them. That really does come down to what is essentially the biggest anthropological error of liberalism, which is the denial of original sin. But in any case, yeah, weirdos are always going to fascinate us because this woman like other sociopaths just operates in the world differently than we do and we find that interesting. But that's not the main reason, I think, why this movie is becoming a phenomenon. The reason is actually more about society than it is about the individual of Elizabeth Holmes. I think the reason that people are so fascinated by this, why it's kind of grabbed the throat of the zeitgeist, is because Elizabeth Holmes is the perfect millennial. She's the perfect millennial. She's a founder. She's a founder of a tech company. Tech is the industry of our times. She's a woman. And for the millennials, unlike the prior generations, the millennials were bred from their earliest days to be told that women need to be girl bosses. They need to go out. They need to work outside the home, not just get married and have kids. They need to create companies, not babies. The best version of that is to become a founder and entrepreneur, especially.

in the industry of our time. Tech, especially to charm the industrial capital of our time, which is Silicon Valley. And she did all of that. And it was a fraud. And so you get the perfect embodiment of the fraud at the level of the person of Elizabeth Holmes. But the whole thing was a fraud. The whole thing that teachers and parents and pop culture had been telling young women, that was a fraud too.

the idea that women have to go be girl bosses, that women need to work outside the home, that they should put off having kids, that all that matters is work and a specific kind of work, the technological kind of work. All of that was a fraud. And we're coming to grips with that as a society now as women reach the end of their childbearing years and they're having deep regret over that. That's why you're seeing an explosion of IVF technology. A recognition of the failure of all of the decisions we made in the last 20, 30 years, many of which involve technology. and then to fix that problem, what are they doing? They're doing the only thing they know, which is they're turning to technology.

But that's not going to fix it. It's going to make the problem worse. You're seeing the unhappiness of women, both in absolute terms and relative to men, women getting less and less happy, as we were told they were supposed to get happier and happier and happier. You're seeing a recognition that the world idea that we've had for the last 30 years is insufficient, is ultimately unsatisfying, that we were sold a bill of goods, that we were defrauded. and she is the actual embodiment of that. That's what's so fascinating about Elizabeth Holmes.

There are all sorts of fraudsters. Why do we care more about Elizabeth Holmes than we care about Bernie Madoff? Because Bernie Madoff is the kind of scammer that could exist in any age. We live in a highly financialized age. So much of the economy now is financial services. So I guess that makes him semi-interested. But he's just a con man. Everywhere, for all of time, we've had con-man.

men. Elizabeth Holmes is a con man or a con woman specifically built for our present culture, for our society. And as we're coming to grips with all the problems in that culture and society, as we're starting to come apart, as you're seeing major political realignment and revolutions going on on the left and on the right as just everybody realizes, man, something's really going wrong here. This woman totally embodies it. I can't wait to see it. The other thing about this movie that I think is grabbing people's attention is that it's the first interesting piece of art to come out of Hollywood. Gosh, in at least, I don't know, 10 years. I would say, you know, Barbie was kind of interesting.

Lady Bird was kind of interesting. I'm a Greta Gerwig defender. We'll get to Greta Gerwig in a second. But in terms of like real gripping art that blurs lines between genres, between documentaries, and drama. That actually plays onto the central theme because you don't know if you're being duped. You don't know if you're being defrauded. A lot of people saw that trailer. They thought it was a drama. They thought they just got a dead ringer to play Elizabeth Holmes. It wasn't. It's a documentary. But because this woman's whole life is performance, a documentary about her is necessarily going to be a

kind of a drama. It's necessarily going to be a kind of a work of fiction. That's the other thing that's really interesting about this is it's a recognition. Oh, we can still make art. We can't. We don't have to just resign ourselves to a bunch of woke schlock on the one hand and kitsch Marvel movie nonsense on the other, that there actually is such a thing as art. We actually were making interesting movies even as recently as 15 years ago. We can do that again. That's the other thing that'll grab people. You know, the cream does rise to the top. I can't wait to see it. I mentioned, I mentioned that I would bring up the Greta Gerwig thing. I just briefly, I'm not, everyone's going crazy over this because Greta Gerwig is doing the Narnia movie based on the C.S. Lewis books.

And she has cast, for the voice of Aslan, who is the Jesus character, she's cast Merrill Streep. She's cast a woman to play the character that represents Jesus. And people are really freaking out about it. And I'm a big Greta Gerwig stand. I think that Greta Gerwig is clearly a deeply conservative filmmaker. And so this new Narnia casting challenges my thesis about Reda Gerwig. I'm not even saying she's a consciously conservative filmmaker. I'm saying she just practically is. You look at Lady Bird, Lady Bird was about the kind of girls that exist today, kind of rebellious, have problems with their mom, daddy issues, all sorts of things. But what was the conclusion of Lady Bird? Spoiler alert, the conclusion of Lady Bird was that the main character decided to stop being a slut to call her mom and to go

to Catholic Church. That was the final scene. Spoiler. It was the final scene. Spoiler. A spoiler alert. What about Barbie? I had a big disagreement with Ben Shapiro about this. He said Barbie was woke and feminist. But it wasn't, actually. That was the crazy thing. Barbie presented a feminist vision of the world and concluded it was bad. Remember, the opening scene of Barbie was the dawn of man and it was all nice and fun. And then what happened? Feminism as Barbie came into the world and led all these girls who were playing with their cute little dolls like mothers to start dashing the little girl's brains on rocks. Feminism from the very earliest moments of the scene was presented as this destructive force. And then the whole world of Barbie was this feminist fantasy, this kind of mid-century girl fantasy. And so every character in there was unfulfilled, unsatisfying, unrealistic. Even Ken was like a feminist version of what a man is, and it was toxic. But then what was the conclusion of Barbie?

The conclusion of Barbie was that Barbie goes, has a conversation with God, and then decides, instead of going out and getting a job in the real world, she goes to an OBGYN, because she wants to have a baby, because she realizes that's more important. That's a profoundly anti-feminist movie. And so, okay, I'm not going to, my whole take on the Greta Gerwig controversy is,

I'm not going to have a take yet. Because I recognize the casting in Murrell Street, this is bad. I don't like this. I feel uncomfortable with this. But it's kind of like the people who call out Trump, they say, oh, they got Trump now. They got him now. He's really in trouble now. The walls are closing in, and then every time Trump gets out of it and he usually wins. That's how I feel about Greta Gerwig. The whole, the pattern she has set up is that her movies on the surface look super lib and feminist, but just slightly below the surface and then all the way down, they're deeply conservative. So I don't want to get duped, and then I watch a movie and I say actually was deeply conservative. So I don't, this is scary. This is bad. I don't like the idea of it. I'm prepared to say that the, the, the conservative Greta run is over, but I'm not prepared to say it just yet. Okay, is that fine? Is that enough of a hot take on Greta Gerwig? I do want to get to some real-life crazy women. Democrat

We're going to abolish the Department of Homeland Security and create a new department where we completely strip ICE and customers and Border Patrol of their funding and authority, as well as the authorities they were using to track you, keep lists of you. Instead, we're going to create a department of community safety.

where immigration will no longer be handled by a department that likes to call immigrants terrorists whenever it suits them. So our people will no longer have to live in fear because of an unjust system. So today we're coming together to introduce this terrible law, blah, blah, blah. It's called the Reimagining Safety Act. You get the point. So I'm reminded of a controversy that occurred last week,

which is you had some random Republican who made some impolitic comments, about Indian immigrants in Texas. Not illegal aliens, we're going to get deported by ICE, but legal immigrants in Texas, students who were there on visas. And he was looking at this image of a lot of Indians at Texas. Was it Texas A&M or was it UT?

Or was one of those? Where he said, you know, this is terrible. This is a horrible view of America. You know, there's too much immigration. Okay, whatever. People attacked him. Even Republicans went after him. They said, this is bad look, it's bad optics.

It's racist. How dare you? Okay. Okay. Yeah, I agree. It's kind of, it's bad optics. It's not, it's not exactly the way we should speak. If I, you know, I would use different language. We need to watch our language, Mr. Okay, fine. Sure. You got that guy. That's like the worst Republican running for office right now.

He's running for railroad commissioner in Texas. That's like the worst one. And yeah, he uses some words that maybe he shouldn't, he should have said it different. It's not his, it's not the point that he was making. It's just the way he said it. Okay. Okay, fine. Fine. Or who else you got, you got Darlene Graham, Darlene Graham, Lindsay Graham's sister running for Senate. in South Carolina, and she doesn't know anything about foreign policy. Trump endorsed her. She's a reliable Republican vote, but, you know, she doesn't, she doesn't really know that much. She hasn't been a career politician. So she, it's her and the guy who made the mean tweet in Texas, they're like the worst Republicans running for office right now. And you have, you have Republican office holders who are coming out saying, I'm not going to vote for these kinds of people. You have George Will,

lifelong conservative pundit, say, I'm not, I'm going to vote for the Democrat. And I would vote for the Democrat if I live in South Carolina, blah, blah, blah. Okay. Sure. whatever your issues with those with the weaker GOP candidates. They're running against this. They're running against politicians in the Democrat Party who will not even speak English. They are so repelled by the American tradition and way of life, by the historic American nation, they won't even speak the national language. They're running against politicians who say, we need to destroy not even just ICE or Customs and Border Patrol.

we're going to destroy the whole Department of Homeland Security because they're not letting all the illegals come in and they're deporting some of the illegals who are already here. So we're going to destroy the whole department so that our people will no longer live in fear. In the most charitable reading, you can imagine, what does our people mean in that sentence? Is Delia, what's her name, Delia Ramirez, sitting U.S. Congressman, is she referring to the American people as our people? No. How do you read it that way? You can't. The people who are living in fear of DHS and ICE and Border Patrol are foreigners. They're foreign nationals. Those are the people who can be deported. American citizens aren't going to be deported. It's foreigners. So you have a party that is now running

openly, explicitly, as the representatives of hostile foreign powers who are openly promising to subvert your interests, your common good, your way of life. They won't even speak your language when they do it. They're going to speak the foreign languages. And I'm hearing Republicans say, I don't want to vote for that guy in Texas or I don't want to vote for Darling Graham. She's not smart. I don't want to vote for the Republicans because I don't like the Iran war. You don't like the Iran War? I don't really like the Iran War either. I wish there were not just two and a half million illegals removed. I wish they removed three and a half million. Yeah, I wish they removed 20 million. Yeah, I wish, yeah, wouldn't that be great? Wouldn't that be

lovely? If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. But you know what, folks, Trump has done a very good job. He's done a very good job. He's made some decisions I don't agree with. That's going to happen. Yeah, sure. He's done a very good job. And even if he hadn't done a very good job, these are the people were running against. Do you see who we're running against? There are people who are speaking a foreign language telling you that they're going to destroy the department that exists to protect your sovereignty because those people are going to represent a foreign people. And I'm hearing, I'm just a little, I don't know if I'm going to show up to the polls. I don't, I just, I don't get it, man. I just don't get it. Yeah, there are some things to criticize Trump over. Sure, okay. Had I been on the NSC,

I would have probably argued against this most recent Iran intervention, though the previous one worked out pretty well. This one maybe could have worked out well. It just didn't. You can't predict the future. And yeah, diesel's at six bucks a gallon, and that's unfortunate. I agree. Yeah, I agree.

There's probably not going to be a resolution to that anytime soon. But folks, are you kidding me? Trump remains the greatest president of my lifetime. For whatever criticism you want to make of him, he remains the greatest president of my lifetime. and even if he weren't, we are looking at the most radically left-wing and most openly anti-American Democratic Party that has ever run in the history of the United States. Down to, in the early days of the Democrat Party, when it was secessionist, this Democrat Party

is more openly hostile to the American nation. I just don't want to hear it. If you're going to look at that and say, well, you know what I think, actually, because I don't like that mean tweet from that guy. in Texas, I think we need to vote for Democrats, or I think we need to stay home. I just, okay, then fine, you know, good luck. You know what, I'm sure you're a nice person. Maybe I'm sure it's fine, but you're politically useless.

The stakes are very, very high. Now, on the point of the Iran war, President Trump addressed it at the United Nations yesterday, yesterday two days ago. And in tip, I talked about the subtlety of the Daily Wires, a new movie Iran had fight infidels. We had typical Trumpian subtlety here, which is he said, said, look, I'm looking forward to getting a deal with Iran, or I'll annihilate it. We'll get to that in a moment first, though. That is runwoodrosary.com, promo code, Knowles. President Trump was at the United Nations, and he addressed the Iran War, which we'd all hoped would wrap up in a month or two. It's going on a little bit longer than that. We are hoping for an end to the crisis. And here's what he foresees. But I have a big decision to make. Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever. was before, maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world. Or do I annihilate

the Islamic Republic and do it quickly, never giving them a chance to kill and destroy people and countries again? Do I drive them into hell with no chance of survival and no home? Image of the Iranian represented. But I believe we'll make a deal right after the election. because it doesn't make sense for them not to. They're waiting to see how I do in the midterm election. What they don't realize is that I'm not running. I did that already and won in a landslide.

We won in a giant landslide, and I'll be here for two and a half years. The Republican Party is running, and I'll be helping them. But I am not running. I gave absolutely no credence and will not give credence to the election. when it comes to Iran. Okay, so we're getting a lot of what we would expect from President Trump here, which is, and he's being totally brutally honest. He's saying, yeah, we're not getting a deal on the Iran war before the midterms.

Of course not. I called this a month ago, two months ago. The Iranians know when the elections are, too, just as well as we do. So the pain is going to get a lot worse. And there's no quick resolution to this. The Mullahs are a durable regime. They're an awful regime. they've gone after Americans, they've killed Americans from their earliest days. Don't forget.

We're not even just talking about the global war on terror. We're talking about the Iran hostage crisis right when the Islamic regime took over. We're talking about the Beirut Barracks bombings in the 1980s. The Iranian regime has gone after us for a very, very long time. They've chanted death to America for a very, very long time. They're very durable. They've lasted twice as long as the CIA supported regime after the ousting of Mossadec in 1953. So that would have been my argument against it. Some people are making arguments against it. the Iran war that we have no right to do it and the Iranians don't actually want a nuclear weapon and they actually don't mean us any harm and it's only about Israel and maybe a little bit about Saudi Arabia and it's but it's not about the U.S. No, no, I don't really buy that. Don't buy that at all. My argument against the Iran war would just be practically speaking their durable regime and if you're not going to go all the way in for regime change, it's going to create some problems for you

and I think that's where we are. So it's not going to be any quick resolution because the United States, okay, they've done a good job of managing the fallout from Iran. Iran hasn't really been able to do that much to us. They've manipulated global energy markets pretty massively. Even there, though, the United States was able to get some oil through. They've mostly been able to keep oil below $100 a barrel, really below $75 a barrel for a lot of the war. So, okay, we're in this kind of stalemate. We're in this moment of just waiting to see who's going to cry uncle. But the United States can't back away and surrender the straight of Hormuz to Iran. That would be a geopolitical blunder, a massive geopolitical blunder. So Trump says, okay, we'll deal with this

after the election. That's when we'll get a deal. And either what we will do is we'll make a deal, which is in Iran's interest. That's what I want. Or I'll annihilate them. And you say, okay, well, Trump blusters sometimes. This is more empty talk from Trump. But he backs it up a little bit here, which is, he says, they're going to see how I do in the elections. And they're going to hope that the Republicans get clobbered in the House and maybe get clobbered in the Senate. And then I'm in a lot of big political trouble. And then they don't have to deal with me. And they can hold out and wait for a Democrat president who's going to give them everything they want. But then Trump says, what they're failing to appreciate is that I am not running.

And so this is bad news for some of the GOP candidates, perhaps. This is bad news for the other people in what would otherwise be down-ballot races. But, it strengthens Trump's negotiating position. Because what he's basically saying is, I'm the honey badger. I don't care. Hey, Iran, you want to burn down the Republican Party? Fine by me. I don't really, look, I'll help the Republicans.

I'll campaign with them. I don't really care. Hey, hey, you guys remember, I took over the Republican Party, right? I'm not some lifelong, loyal, you know, bowtie tweed-wearing Republican. I don't care. I'm Trump. I'm the movement. I'm the party.

I do what I want. And so, okay, you want to take out my majority in the House? You want to take out my majority in the Senate? guess what? I'm still here. And now I'm a man with nothing to lose. Now I'm more dangerous, actually, than I was before the midterm elections. I got nothing to lose, man. Oh, you think this is going to hurt Republicans' chances in 2028? I don't care. I'm not running in 2020. Oh, you think that I've just got some great loyalty to the party? I don't have any loyalty to the Republican Party. So that's fine. You want to wait to see what happens after the election? Guess what? You have more

to fear after the election. Because after the election, maybe I'll just throw 100,000 troops into Iran. What are you going to do? I'm the president. I have unilateral power to do that under the war powers resolution. And I'll do it quickly. I'm time limited, three to six months, whatever. I'll do it in three to six. Guess what? If I send 100,000 ground troops to Iran, that'll get it done a lot faster than what we're doing here with just bombings and aircraft carriers in the straight. You want to do that? You want to play games? You want to do that? You want to play games? He's just, he's kind of talking like a New Yorker. He's talking like a New York He said, you want to play games?

You want to deal with me when I'm weaker? Guess what? When I'm weaker, I'm more dangerous. That's what he's saying. Whether it works or not, we'll see. I do love that he turns up the rhetoric here. And he's looking right at that Iranian representative. The cameras just go right over to the Iranian representative.

Look, either I'll make a deal or I'll annihilate you and send you all back to hell. So what do you want? And you can say, oh, he doesn't mean it. He's bluffing. He's going to chicken out at the last minute. Maybe. Maybe. But again, this was what Russia had to face in the first Trump administration.

When Trump said, hey, you know what? If you mess with me, if you invade Ukraine, I'm going to bomb Moscow. I'm going to bomb the Kremlin. And Russia hears that. They say, no, he's not. No, he's not. He's most likely not going to. But is there a 5% chance?

Is there a 10%? Is there even 5, even a 4% chance? Trump's going to do that? Because if so, I can't take that risk. That's the question. what he's establishing. Probably the best move that Trump can make right now is to talk like this. It doesn't help the Republicans running in the other races, but as far as Trump's negotiating position with Iran, he basically has to say, I don't care about them. And in the grand scheme of things,

it doesn't really matter. Okay. Speaking of the end times, speaking of the coming of World War III, James Telerico, a man who right now is the odds-on favorite to become the next senator from Texas. I'm not predicting it's going to happen yet, but I'm getting a lot more worried than I was two months ago. James, there's always in Texas. There's always this claim. Oh, they're going to turn Texas blue. It's going to be Beto O'Rourke. You remember that guy?

Beto O'Rourke. It's going to be Colin Al-Read. And then it never is. Telerico is the new Beto. But the conditions are more favorable to the day. Democrats right now. So who is Talarico? We're told he's a straight, maybe white Christian man. Daily Wire, got to give a big hat tip here to Daily Wire's Jacob Wheeler, has gone in to James Tala Rico's church, interviewed one of James Tallerico's pastors. It's this pastoress, this lady named

Babs Miller, who is reportedly an open lesbian. And we want to know if James Talarico, he's going to be the next senator from Texas. If he's even just the Democrat nominee, we want to know about him. We want to know about what he thinks, especially he makes Christianity as such an important part of his identity. Well, what kind of spiritual formation does he have? Here is the pastoress, one of the pastoresses of this church, a lot of quotes, a lot of air quotes in this entire description describing what the church believes.

Do we really believe that like a virgin gave birth to a baby? No. Yeah, okay. I just don't want to offend my own common sense. Yeah, no, don't. Yeah. Absolutely don't. Part of what we encourage here is for people to think for themselves. Yeah.

And take what makes sense. It's kind of like what they say in 12-step programs. Take what you want and leave the rest. So you, and I know that that would greatly offend your relatives. Yeah. who want to hang on to these archaic rules. Mary and the virgin birth comes out of the pagan belief that the gods came down and impregnated people.

That people were still hanging on to during that time. We have no way of knowing if Jesus really existed any more than we have of knowing that the original Buddha ever existed. And whether or not Jesus existed, doesn't really matter to me. The fact remains that that message that was delivered by someone named Jesus supposedly, and it could have all been made up for all I know.

And the God in the Old Testament is not a loving God. It's a vengeful, killing people, kind of God. Yeah. This is a lot of mythology. Jesus was political. Yeah. Jesus was put on that cross not to save us. Jesus was put on that cross because Rome aided him.

And they thought he was a threat to their domination of that area. And so they killed him. He didn't die and save our sins. So he died more as a kind of a social justice warrior in some sense. Yes. So that makes a whole lot more sense to me than to say that some God would kill his, son for us. That doesn't make sense. How does that make up for all the things I can do? No, it doesn't. Yeah, it's a foolishness to the Greeks. It's a stumbling block to the lady,

lesbian pastoresses of Texas. What is surprising about the pastoress's heresy? It's not just that she spouts heresy. I would expect James Tallerico's pastor to spout heresy. What is impressive about this pastoral is that she seems to be spouting all of the heresies at once. She goes through all of them. She denies the virgin birth. That is the ancient heresy of ebionitism and maybe kind of adoptionism, adoptionism, you know, which is another ancient heresy, but it crops up in modernity, this idea that Jesus isn't, he's not born God, he just sort of becomes, he's like adopted as God in some sense. It includes dosatism. the idea that Jesus did not really have a physical body,

and therefore it's a kind of denial of the death of our... That one's a little weird. It's like a little bit of dosatism, a little bit of Arianism, the denial of the divinity of Christ, the fact that she says, no, no, he didn't die for her sins. He was a political figure. He died running a political campaign that the Romans hated. This is Christ, who, of course, says,

My kingdom is not of this world. Who, when the Pharisees are trying to tempt him, when test him, they say, well, should we pay her taxes? He says, give to Caesar. everything that Caesar is and give to God what is God. As explicitly not a political activist as one can possibly be. Then she throws in Marcianism, the idea that the God of the Old Testament is evil and the God of the New Testament is good. Marseanism, which is an ancient heresy. You see a crop up in modernity, too, especially among anti-Semites. This is, it's astounding. It's very, the idea that Jesus

didn't exist. We have greater evidence for the existence of Christ than we have for the existence of Socrates for the existence of Hannibal, for the existence of Alexander the Great. She says, no, we don't know if he existed. It doesn't matter. It's all, no, no, no. Take what you want, leave the rest. So, this is very offensive. However, I think what the Republicans are going to try to do here is the same thing that we did to Obama when some impolitic clips of his pastor, Jeremiah Wright, came out. He was saying all sorts of terrible things about America. It was more political what Jeremiah Wright was saying. And the Republicans bullied Obama into disavowing Jeremiah Wright because they knew that if people found out Barack Obama's true religious and even

political views, that would scare off a lot of people. That's not going to work here. And the reason it's not going to work here is because Barack Obama at least pretended to disagree with his pastor. When his pastor was saying awful things about America, Obama could pretend to disagree, even though Obama was campaigning on fundamentally transforming America, he was much more careful in his rhetoric. With James Tala Rico, though, Tala RICO doesn't even pretend to disagree with this lady. None of Tala RICO's followers think that he disagrees with this lady. In fact, if Tala RICO came out and disavowed this rank heresy, this vile anti-Christian rhetoric, that he would lose supporters, James Talarico. He wouldn't gain. He lose his base. That's what we're up against.

So you look at the very practical, tangible policy level, you see the Democrats running on formally abolishing American sovereignty. And you say, you know what, I don't care how bad the Republicans are, I'm going to vote for them. And then you see at the even deeper level, because all politics ultimately comes down to religion, all human conflict, Cardinal Manning tells us, comes down to religion. You see, these people are being formed by like all the heresies, all of them. Was it Pius the 9th, Pius the 9th to Pius the 10th? Who said that modernism is a special kind of heresy? Because it's actually the culmination of all of the heresies. That's what you're getting.

My favorite contract yesterday is from JWP who says I'm 100% convinced that Michael's contract requires him to refer to Aristotle at least nine times per week. It's true. And you know,

people make fun of me for that. They say, oh, Michael, you're always going back to Aristotle and Thomas Aquinas and maybe a little bit of Plato and maybe a little bit of Cicero and maybe a lot of Dante. And you're always going back to the same half a dozen dozen people. I say, you're right. And do you know whose example I'm following in that case? You guessed it, Thomas Aquinas. But because we have this prejudice in modernity where we think that in order to be really smart and really sophisticated and really fancy, you need to quote like a billion people. You need to just take in all of the information that knowledge is best understood as a quantitative sort of good. And the greater, the variety of knowledge that goes into your head, the smarter and more sophisticated you will be. I don't think so. Maybe I'm just a little thick. Maybe I'm a little bit slow. I'm a little more old school. about this. When Thomas Aquinas is writing, he brings in a lot of different thinkers. He'll bring in Plotinus or Avicenna or whoever. But you know who he's mostly bringing in other than scripture is Aristotle. In fact, he calls Aristotle the philosopher. What do I need other philosophers for?

I got Aristotle. He gets the job done. The apostle is Paul. You get a lot with Paul. You know, you don't need to. I think actually learning and education and knowledge is a little more about quality than it is about quantity. Did Aristotle say that? I don't know. Maybe. I don't know. I got to go back and read it. Speaking of education, Stanford University has just been caught in the weirdest scandal that I've seen out of the schools in a while, and there are a lot of scandals out of the schools. They had this picture. The Stanford Review just published this, the conservative Stanford paper. Stanford publishes a picture from their dining hall, and the picture features three students. but it doesn't feature the actual students.

It features a race-swapped, gender-swapped, malange of students. So here's the original picture. The original picture, as the student who got race and sex-swapped, observes, it's got this nice-looking, you know, a little Asian gal, then a kind of red-haired white guy, and then a vaguely Hispanic-looking guy. You look, you know, I would say distinctly Hispanic-looking guy

wearing a Gap sweater. but that's not the picture that Stanford published. Here's the picture Stanford published. We have, just for my own notification, go back to the first one. Okay, now go to the second one. This is amazing. You almost don't catch this at first. So the first thing you notice is in the picture that Stanford actually published,

the Mexican guy who, he's come out, he's talking about this. His name's Billy Ramirez. The Mexican guy became a black chick. and his Gap sweatshirt was the hoodie was just transformed to a Stanford hoodie and she's holding a plate

of what appears to be Lomaine. But that guy is not the only one who got changed. The Mexican dude transed into a black chick is not the only one

to be changed. The Asian girl and the white guy were both transformed as well. The AI just made them look a little thinner.

I think they looked perfectly nice before the AI but Stanford apparently did not. Stanford thought they were fat or something. So Stanford goes in with the AI and says, you know what, not only is our student body

not diverse enough, not even the student body, you would really say the dining cohorts, the people who choose to be friends and have lunch together. Not only is it not diverse enough in the racial and sexual ways we want, but they're not looks maxing. They're not, I don't know, was clavicular behind this publication from Stanford? So they kind of pull up the young Asian girls jawbones a little bit, kind of thin out her cheeks. Same thing with the white guy. It's hard to tell if they look maxed, the Mexican guy, because they just completely changed him. This is hilarious. And you know what it comes to? It comes to that old George Bernard Shaw line, the Democrats love saying, some people see things that are and say why. I dream things that never were and say why not.

That's the essential difference with the libs. And it gets down to a real problem at the heart of university. I'm writing a book about this now, actually. That's why I have more bags under my as usual. I'm in the throes of writing this book based on a commencement speech that I gave last year, which is, what is the one piece of advice that all the universities give you when you graduate? What is the theme of basically every college commencement address? Go out and change the world. You need to go out and go change the world, which is, in my opinion, the stupidest advice you can possibly give to a student. But it's very much in keeping with the history of the American left and with higher education. But I repeat myself, it's the George Bernard Shaw line.

Some people see things that are and say why. These dream things that never were and say, why not. Same thing as John F. Kennedy used that to the Irish Parliament. But it goes back to Marx. Karl Marx in the Theses on Feuerbach. His conclusion in the Theses on Firebock is that the philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways, but the point is to change it. But I don't think that's how you learn. Stanford looks at this and they say, hey, the black kids are sitting by themselves.

And they're not, at least in this friend group, there's not enough black, we got to put a black kid in there. And we need a chick, and we need a guy. And we need, and you know what, they don't look good enough. It's not attractive enough. So instead of asking,

why are things the way that they are? Even if you want to improve something, you have to know why things are the way that they are. well in that case rather than think about that they decide no no no we're just going to change it all absolutely ironic because the whole point of the university is to understand the world is to come to know the truth

okay before we go there's so much more I want to talk about today there's so much more but before we go I do want to talk about Hitler there's apparently a new story out that Hitler might have killed someone did you well no I guess I should say Hitler might have killed another person. Hitler is now suspected, according to some historians, in the death of his niece, Geli Raubal. Geli Raubal, who, I don't know if you're familiar with this story. If you've ever read

about Hitler, this is one of the weirder episodes, he had this niece, Geli, and he lived with her, and he was very possessive of her, and when she started dating one of his staffers, he forced her to break up with him. And I think Ava Braun later on said she felt she was living in this niece's shadow. It's unclear if Hitler had like a super weird, super duper weird relationship with his niece, but he at least had a pretty weird relationship with his niece. Anyway, she wanted to go off and get married and Hitler said no and they had a big fight about this. Hitler goes to Nuremberg and she kills herself. And then he has to come back and he falls into depression. Well, there's a new story out there that says, no, actually that was all an alibi. There's some document that shows that

Hitler was actually in town, perhaps at the apartment, the day that the niece killed herself. Maybe he killed her. And you know, it's like you just, right when you think you know a guy, he goes and does something that totally transforms your opinion of, okay. I actually don't buy this story. I don't think it's true. Other historians of Hitler also don't really buy this. It's probably more like a clerical error on the death certificate or on, then the idea that Hitler actually murdered her. I mean, I guess it wouldn't surprise me if he did, but in this case, I don't, I don't really believe it. And I guess my political takeaway here is, if we're going to draw, any political lesson from this case of Hitler's fascination with his niece.

We don't need to embellish. We don't need to embellish. We don't need to overstay our case. Sometimes we overstayed our case. We all do that in politics. And I'll tie it all the way back to the midterm elections. Every election, every single election here, this is the most important election in our lifetime. Every little race for dogcatcher in Palookaville.

This is the most important election in our lifetime. And it's not. I don't think this midterm is the most important election in our lifetime. it certainly involves the most radical candidates we've ever had. It's a very consequential election. It could set the stage for the most important election in our lifetime. But we don't have to embellish. I think we can be very blunt. If the Democrats win here, they are going to do everything they can to destroy the Trump administration, to destroy Republicans' chances of winning in 2028. That, I think, is going to be their real goal. And I think they're going to do it pretty effectively if they win. they are then, if they really take power, they are going to abolish the Department of Homeland Security. They're going to trans all the kids.

They're going to take away a lot of your property. They're going to flood the country with millions and millions of foreigners. They're going to give amnesty to probably tens of millions of foreigners. They're very likely going to destroy the Supreme Court. They're going, this is just according to their promises. This is just what they're saying they're going to do. They're going to give statehood to Washington, D.C., which is going to permanently alter the balance of power in the country in the Electoral College. they're going to maintain a hold on power for an inestimably long time, and they're going to use that

to advantage foreigners and criminals over the American people and innocent people, and that's what they're going to do. That's what they tell us they're going to do. We don't need to embellish the stakes. They're really, really bad. Okay, I know I'm running over. I don't care. You know why? Because today is a very special day. I wanted to go to this ceremony. As you know, I'm on Baby Watch, and I'm in the throes of a lot of work right now, so I was not able to do it. It's mostly the Baby Watch, though, that keeps me from traveling.

It's the beatification of Fulton Sheen. Fulton Sheen, who was the first televangelist. This is a great little bit of trivia. You can ask people, who was the first televangelist? And a lot of people are going to say, I think it was Billy Graham. I think it was Jerry Falwell. I think it was Oral Roberts.

It's actually not true. The first televangelist was a Catholic bishop, Archbishop Fulton Sheen. He had a massive television program. he was the man. Here's just, if you're not familiar with Fulton Sheen, here's just a little clip. False compassion,

which is gradually growing in this country, is a pity that is shown not to the mugged, but to the mugger. Not to the family of their murdered, but to the murderer. Not to the woman who was raped, but to the rapist. This is the false compassion.

How did it start? Started in literature. In the novels of Williams, Harrowyan, John Steinbeck, then the novels of Mandel, James Jones, and others, in which pity is shown to every kind of pervert and degenerate. He's going on. Fulton Sheen, not pulling any punches, haranguing the perverts, he's going out. This is in the 1950s.

The show ran for a fairly long time. he's going on. He's there's all these movements, the pro homosexual movement, the pro-criminal movement, the pro-this. He's not pulling any punches whatsoever. He's talking about this issue more broadly, of always giving the advantage to the wrongdoers rather than the people who have been wronged. Fulton Sheen, not only a very, very important televangelist, not only a very, very important figure in the church, not only now a beatified person, which is the state, right before someone is canonized as a saint by the church. But a prophet for our times. Because that lecture, he's going without any notes, going really, really hard on the social issues

of the time from the wisdom of the church. That could have been given in 2026. He wouldn't have had to change a single word. He might have had to dumb it down a little bit, but he wouldn't have had to change a single word on the actual points that he's making. The only reason you couldn't air it maybe in 2026 is because we didn't heed his warning. Okay. So I'm here.
