Starting point is 00:00:00 Our most anticipated series to date had its debut last night on X, formerly known as Twitter, Candice Owens premiered her new 10-part original series, convicting a murderer, which revisits the criminal murder trial of Stephen Avery, the subject of the popular docu-series Making a Murderer. Hollywood portrayed Stephen Avery as an innocent victim of corrupt law enforcement, but left out mountains of incriminating evidence against him in the creation of making a murderer. It was a national sensation, and many people were completely convinced that this man was innocent, but they didn't receive the full story. Candice, doing what she does best, is bringing you the whole truth in convicting a murderer. Can I just say that this is par for the course for Hollywood

Starting point is 00:00:37 elitists? This is what they and the media always do. They select information and arrange it in such a way that supports whatever agenda or ideology they want to peddle in the moment. That's why companies, such as ours, the Daily Wire, are so important, if I do say so myself, because we have to counter that movement with the truth. Well, that's what. Candice's career has been about. That's what she continues to do in convicting a murderer. I've had the pleasure of having my dear friend Candace on the show to get her perspective and hear more about the series and what it's all about. Take a look. So listen, Candice, you and I have a lot of things in common, but one thing we have in common is when the entire culture is saying one thing,

Starting point is 00:01:16 our first instinct is to say, they're probably totally wrong. I just assumed if everybody's saying this guy is innocent, he's got to be guilty as sin. And I know you actually followed it very very, very closely, and then you, because you refuse to let anything like this just slip through the culture, you said, no, I'm going to prove that this jerk totally did it. Is that basically how this project came about? I will say that I obviously have a fascination with the media's ability to brainwash, not just the masses in general, even us. And so yes, this project, convicting a murderer, which stems from the Netflix series, Smash series, Making a Murderer, where everyone was kind of very anti-police. This was kind of like white.

Starting point is 00:01:56 lives matter. Like before there was white lives matter, but black lives matter, there was white lives matter. And everyone just sort of paid to the police. And they wanted to believe that, you know, this man who was at one point in his life wrongly convicted of an attempted murder that he did not actually commit. It was before DNA. So they wanted to believe that maybe twice, he just keeps getting himself into these circumstances. And Netflix seized on it because they knew that they could just manipulate people's emotions and make them think that a very aggressive person, his entire life story is incredibly aggressive to potentially be an angel. So it was a fascinating story to look into. I don't want you to give away too many spoilers. The show should be a huge smash

Starting point is 00:02:36 because it's giving the answer, the reality to what Netflix was promoting. But, you know, give me a little taste. Like, what did you see? Here's what I will say is don't be afraid to eat some humble pie. If you spoke to Candacea when she was 18, pro-choice, liberals are good, Republicans are racist. And it's actually been such an exciting thing. Once you release that egotistical element that makes you think, oh, I had to have had it all right. And you actually learn the truth. It's amazing. Because then it allows you to further examine your psyche and how your psychology is being impacted and how the media really plays the biggest role in this. And I think that people who follow the story closely, the tens of million people around the

Starting point is 00:03:14 world are just going to be shocked at how far the media will go to sell you an idea. The documentary left out specific, crucial pieces of evidence, right? Oh, yeah. It's really bad. I mean, and what's, I think, most shocking is that the documentary makers won an Emmy for this. And it's interesting that the amount of celebrities that got involved with this. If Hollywood's involved, you pretty much know that you're probably being duped and you're being misled. When you realize that, oh, the media often don't tell you the truth, when you realize that maybe in certain elections there have been some shenanigans, and maybe it was,

Starting point is 00:03:49 wasn't all totally pristine. When you realize that maybe the law isn't applied evenly to everybody, maybe BLM gets off the hook burning the country down for eight months and some Midwestern granny gets thrown in the clink for January 6th, you think, wow, how much of what I've been told is not true? There's a long way to go. There are a lot of layers to peel back here to realize how much we've been told that isn't true. I think it's going to be mind-blowing for a lot of people, so we're really looking forward to bringing it.
