Today, we're going to be talking about three things
that millionaires focus on to become wealthy. And I'm going to try to talk about some things, some things that I never
hear people talk about. I don't want to talk about just the standard stuff that you might hear or
possibly think. I want to talk about some things that might be a little bit outside of the box.
Okay, because a lot of people make videos and a lot of people make podcast episodes
about the habits of successful people,
what actions that they take when they wake up,
et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
But a lot of times, they're not,
a lot of times the people who are making the videos
are not wealthy themselves
or they don't really know people who are wealthy.
And so this episode, I wanna,
it's not gonna be the same as the typical one that
you might hear out there with the habits of them. I've been blessed in my life to acquire what some
people would call wealth and some people would call success and all of that. I've also been able
to get some really great friends that have way more than I do. I have a couple of friends that
recently sold their companies for a few hundred million dollars, and I've been able to see how that person works and how they act and how they
think. And they've amassed large amounts of wealth. And I'm just hoping to give you some
different perspective from an insider's perspective of things that I've done, but also the same time
things that I've seen people do that are good friends of mine as well. So it's going to be a
little bit different than what you're probably used to. So let's go ahead and dive in. The first thing that I have seen with people who
are millionaires or have become millionaires or have amassed certain amounts of wealth is almost
every extremely successful person that I know does something that lights them up,
which is interesting because the majority of people don't like what they do.
Almost every person that I know that is extremely wealthy does something that lights them up, which is interesting because the majority of people don't like what they do. Almost every person that I know that is extremely wealthy does something that lights them up.
I have a friend who is worth well over $100 million and he loves real estate. He is absolutely
obsessed with real estate and he eats, sleeps, and breathes real estate. Well, that is also how
he makes his money, right? He loves real estate. That's just his thing. And so real estate
is the way he also makes money as well. And he's been able to, and you know, under 50 years or just
over 50 years, actually, I think he's 53, been able to worth about $150 million. Okay. I have
another friend who just sold his company for a few hundred million dollars in the health space.
And he is absolutely obsessed with his health. He's obsessed with working out. He's
obsessed with looking good. He's obsessed. I mean, all of his friends are like the fittest people
you've ever seen, right? He's obsessed with how he can keep himself healthy. And so naturally,
he just likes reading about different compounds. He likes reading about different ways that he can
have more energy and different ways that he can
lose weight. And he's just obsessed with it. He eats, sleeps, and breathes this stuff.
And so he started a company 10 years ago that had to deal with that because he was already
obsessed with it. And it was something that lit him up. And then he just sold his company for a
few hundred million dollars about six months ago. I also have another set of friends who are obsessed with emails.
And they started a supplement company.
And they just really got really, really good.
They love the psychology of sending emails to people and what makes people buy,
what makes people not buy.
And they just sold their company for a few hundred million dollars as well.
But the common denominator among these three different companies, but there are
four different people in these three different companies, is they are absolutely obsessed and
love what it is that they do. One of the biggest misconceptions I think a lot of people have
is that you have to struggle your way to success. Now, I don't want you to think that there's not
some hard times that happen to come around for these people. There's definitely hard times that come around. It is a little bit hard at some
points and there's some failures and there's some mess ups. But one of the biggest misconceptions
is you have to absolutely struggle to be successful and nothing can be further from the truth. Is it
hard? Yes, absolutely. But to most entrepreneurs, that's actually fun. The ups and the downs and
the game of being an entrepreneur
is actually something that is fun.
Most wealthy people that I know do something that they love.
It's something that they're passionate about.
It's something that they believe in.
And it's why they don't stop when they get wealthy.
Like one of the things that people are always like,
well, why don't, you know, they've already,
you know, they're already worth $50 million.
Why don't they just quit?
Because it was never about money in the first place.
That's the issue that people don't realize.
They're like, well, this person's already a billionaire.
Why don't they stop?
Because they never became a billionaire
because they were focused on money.
They became a billionaire
because they were absolutely obsessed with something
and they decided to learn as much as they possibly could
and become the best they possibly could
at what that one thing is.
And so it's never about the money. If someone's going just after money,
they might make some money, but they're not going to be able to sustain really long-term
because eventually you just get tired of making money. What happens is people are literally
learning that they can get better at something and they can learn more about something. And a
lot of their personal growth comes from running a business and from growing at that thing. And so what they're doing actually
gives them energy. And that's the reason why it's so important is that we all find something that
we love because success requires hard work, no matter what. Hard work. And you can hate it every
single step of the way, or you can do something that you love so that it doesn't feel like work.
It is going to require time. It is going feel like work. It is going to require time.
It is going to require work.
It is going to be hard.
It is going to be easy.
But when you do something that you love,
you actually don't feel like you're working.
It sounds like a corny cliche
that if you do something that you love,
you'll never have to work another day in your life,
but it just feels like part of you.
It is just what you do.
Like for me, I love this podcast.
Like planning these episodes, recording these
episodes, running a business where I teach people how to grow coaching businesses online. I love
what I do. I love all of this. There's nothing more that I'd rather do. So if you love what you
do, you'll work really hard at it because it doesn't seem like work. It just seems like fun.
And hard work is a prerequisite for success. So if you hate what you're currently doing,
if it doesn't light you up,
you're in the wrong line of work.
And it's going to be really a struggle
to get the success that you actually want
when you're going that way.
So that's the first thing,
is that they usually do something
that actually lights them up as well.

trying to solve problems in the world. Wealthy people are almost always entrepreneurs. There's
very few people that I know that are extremely well, actually there's none, if I'm being honest with you.
They're extremely wealthy that have,
you know, they work for somebody else
or, you know, they're just like an employee at a company.
Usually, extremely wealthy people
are entrepreneurs in some sort of way.
And I have a friend who said this one time
and it really like stuck
and I don't know if I'll ever forget it.
He said, an entrepreneur is someone
who takes somebody else's problem and makes it their own. They take somebody else's problem and they make it their
own. So if you go back to my friends that I just gave you examples of, the ones that have a
supplement company, they have supplements because that was somebody's problem that they had at some
point in time and they made it their problem. How can we create supplements that are better
for somebody? My friend who's in the
health space, a lot of people have health problems. So he learned all of these ways to become healthier
and how this works in your body, how this gives you more energy, how this works with your brain,
how this works with your gut, all of those things. He might not have gut issues, but he's created
gut supplements and gut things for people's guts so they could heal their guts. That's somebody
else's problem
that then became his problem
and he wanted to solve it.
And so the second thing that a lot of people
that are very successful do
is they solve a lot of problems.
A successful entrepreneur
is someone who takes others' problems
and solves them.
So if you notice,
a lot of them will go into a market
that they might have a little bit of knowledge in
or no knowledge in, but they see that there's a lot of problems that need into a market that they might have a little bit of knowledge in or no
knowledge in, but they see that there's a lot of problems that need to be solved in it. They notice
a need and then they help people with that need. And what's really interesting is that the news
in social media, a lot of times they tend to bring successful people down.
But in a lot of ways, the people that I've found that are the most successful are also some
of the kindest, most giving people in the world. And what they're trying to do is they're trying
to help people through their work. And they're trying to solve people's problems. They're trying
to invent new things or improve current things to solve people's problems. And a lot of times,
they solve problems that a lot of people didn't even know that they had. So for instance, the invention of the car.
People were already moving from place to place.
They were walking for millions of years.
There was already horse and buggies.
There wasn't necessarily a problem.
People didn't know they had a problem.
And then the car was invented.
They're like, oh, now I can move quicker.
I didn't realize that moving slower like I was, was a problem. And then what happened? Then the plane was invented. They're like, oh, now I can move quicker. I didn't realize that moving slower
like I was, was a problem. And then what happened? Then the plane was invented and they were able to
move people faster. And so it was like, first people were walking and then the horse and buggy
was invented and it was able to move people faster. And then the car was invented and it was
able to move people faster. And then the plane was invented. It was able to move people faster,
right? So it's
problems a lot of times that people didn't know that they had, or it's improving upon something
that already exists. So if you look in your life, what's a problem that you want to help people
solve? What's a problem that's around you that you might want to solve? Maybe like I was saying
a few minutes ago, maybe it's gut issues. Maybe it's blood issues. Maybe it's health issues. Maybe it's solving the world's hunger issues.
Maybe it's the fact that getting housing is too expensive.
What is a problem that you see in the world
that you would love to try to solve?
Start looking around your life.
Start looking around your day
and start trying to solve problems.
See if there's a way for you to step in
and actually start to help people, right? Super important if you're trying to, you know,
amass a certain amount of wealth or quote unquote success. Okay, so that's the second thing is that
they take problems from other people and they look to solve those problems. And the third thing
is that they're usually trying to do something to help others, right? It might not
sound true off of what we hear because we always hear, I mean, how many times have you growing up,
have you heard like money's the root of all evil or in order to be successful, you've got to screw
people over or, you know, evil people are the ones that have money or, you know, the actions that you
have to take can be demonized to make money. You know, all these actions that you have to take can be demonized to make money. You know, all these actions that you have to take can be demonized.
But are there bad people that have money?
Yeah, sure.
Are there people that do bad things to get money?
Sure.
But most people are really, really good people.
And so one of the things that I've found,
especially a lot of people that I've coached,
is one of the things that holds people back
from making money is their perception of people
who have money based off of not anything that they've actually seen with
empirical data, but a lot of times things that they've been told and really their psychology
of money that was put into them based off of their conditioning with their parents,
their conditioning growing up. So when you think about that, are the people who do bad things for
money? Yeah, absolutely. Are the people who do good things for money? Absolutely. So money itself, there is no
inherent good or bad in a piece of paper, right? But people can do actions for good and amass money
and there's people that can do actions for bad and amass money. But you can still choose that
you want to be a good person and do good things and amass amounts of wealth, right?
So here's why doing something for others is important.
Doing something for money, it gets old.
Like you eventually get to a point where it just gets old.
And you're like, well, I don't want to just,
it doesn't really matter.
I've already got X amount of dollars in my bank account.
Why would I want to continue to work hard
to get more money, right?
So doing something just for money
can motivate you for a little while,
but eventually it gets old, okay?
Doing something for yourself can be fun at first
and to be able to buy a car, to be able to buy a house,
to be able to buy some cool shit,
to be able to travel, all of those, they're cool,
but eventually they get old.
So doing something for money gets old,
doing something for yourself eventually gets old.
Doing something for others never gets old. And I don't know why this is. And I always say this. I don't understand it. I don't
know why it's built into us, but it is built into the human system that doing something for other
people makes you feel good. I don't know why it is, but you feel good when you do something for
someone else. So if you're just doing something solely for the purpose of making money, it will
get old and you'll eventually wear yourself out. If you're doing something just to be selfish
and just do it for yourself, it will eventually get old. You'll eventually wear yourself out.
But if you're just going, hey, how can I help people out? How can I start a business or grow
a business or work for a business that is wanting to help people, it never freaking gets old.
And what that means is that you will be able to sustain energy when you're constantly working to
try to help other people. You will get energy in your life when your life is tied to other people.
That's why, you know, if I can think of two of the examples that I just gave you guys.
If I can think of two of the examples that I just gave you guys, my one friend who is over 50 and he's worth over $150 million, his life goal was to be worth $100 million. And he hit that number
in his 40s. And he was like, what the hell do I do now? And he started getting demotivated for
a little while. And then he realized like, hey, this making money thing was just already done.
It's not that fun to me. Then so his new life goal be able to switch to how can I donate $100 million before I die?
And then he started working hard again because then it became about other people.
That's pretty cool, isn't it?
You don't hear a whole lot of people talk about, oh, this successful person is giving back a lot.
His goal in life is to be able to donate $100 million.
My other set of friends who just sold their company most recently,
which were the ones I was talking about with emails
and with supplements and all that stuff,
part of their checkout, whenever you...
Well, two parts of it.
Number one, with every single sale that came through,
a portion of them would go towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation
for kids that are terminally ill, right?
And then when you were checking out
and you were actually buying something from them, it would give you an option where if you wanted to
donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation as well. And so their company was based around giving back
in charity and giving back in charity and giving back in charity. And they've been able to, out of
all of the businesses in the world, be one of the top businesses that has actually been able to make,
I think it's over 150 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation come true for these children. And so what happens is
they were able to take a business that they have and take this money that they have and go, hey,
I've already done enough for myself. I've already made enough money. That got old. I've already done
enough for myself. That got old. How can I make sure that I take my business and tie it to something that is going to change somebody else's life? And that alone gave them more energy
and wanting to work harder, knowing that their hard work would eventually change other people's
lives. And so the third thing that I see a lot of very successful people do that's not really
talked about is usually they're trying to do something to help others. And so those are the
three things that I've found among people,
you know, the three sets of people that I know that are,
you know, I guess you would say four out of the five most wealthy people that I know
is number one, almost all of them that are extremely wealthy
have something that they do that they're really interested in
and that really lights them up.
Number two, they have taken other people's problems and made it their own.
They want to solve problems in the world.
And number three, they've learned to actually take it,
stop making it about themselves
and start making it about helping other people.
And through that, they have become extremely wealthy
and extremely quote unquote successful
in the eyes of a lot of people in this world,
but also been able to make a big impact
in the world as well.
So that's what I got for you for today's episode.
