The more positive reviews that we get, the more those platforms show this to people who don't listen to it. So therefore, they can find us,
Starting point is 00:00:43 they can discover us, and it can change their life as well. So if you do that for me, it'll take you about 15-20 seconds. I would greatly, greatly appreciate it. Today, I'm going to give you a really crazy reason why you are so lazy, why you don't feel motivated to work towards something. And it's going to be something that you probably never heard before. Like most of the time when someone thinks they're lazy, they think, oh, I'm lazy because I didn't get enough sleep, or I need to have some more coffee today, or I need to make sure that I eat a little bit better. I don't have energy. I didn't do my morning workout this morning. That's why I'm so lazy today. I'm going to tell you something completely different. You don't have energy. You're lazy because you're out of alignment with your purpose
Starting point is 00:01:26 in life. You are out of alignment with the universe. You're living life that is not truly aligned with your sole purpose. Now, before you're like, hey, hippie, what the hell are you talking about? Trust me, this can make a whole lot of sense to you. The things that you should, the things you do should give you energy, not take energy from you. And I might say, hold on, Rob, but when I do things, I don't, you know, even when I do something that I love, I don't have as much energy. I'm not talking about just physical energy. I'm talking about mental energy. I'm talking about all of that stuff. The things that you do should give you energy, not take energy from you. I'll give you an example. I used to work before I started the
Starting point is 00:02:04 podcast. And actually when I started the podcast and actually when I started the podcast, I worked for a company and I was a sales rep. I stayed at home. I was awesome. I was like 26, 27 years old. I was making a ton of money. It was great for most people. But for me, I was sitting, I was making a ton of money. I was barely working and I didn't, I was just selling recruiting services to big companies. That's all I was doing. I wasn't a recruiter. I was selling recruiting services to big companies. I was making a bunch of money doing it, but I started getting so depressed because I felt like my life had no purpose. Who the shit cares about recruiting services? Not me. I wasn't born to be put on this earth to sell
Starting point is 00:02:46 recruiting services to large companies. That wasn't my sole purpose, but I did it every day for two years. And the longer that I was at this company, the more that just doing the simple act of working from home for this company was literally like pulling teeth. It took more and more energy as each day went on to literally do the smallest things like send emails and make some calls and get things followed up and, you know, do the paperwork that need to be done. Then what happened was then I decided to leave that company because it was just so draining. I felt like shit. I didn't feel like I was living my sole purpose. None of those things. I started the podcast and I started my company and it felt like I was so in lined that I was working all day long. I would work sometimes
Starting point is 00:03:33 from like 9am to 11pm, no problem doing it. And it wasn't like I was doing it like grind, grind, grind, you got to make money, you got to succeed, grind, grind, grind. It was like, I fully felt like this is so much fun to do. Like to sit down right now and record podcast episodes is fun. I have more energy. I record four podcast episodes in a row. It's a lot of talking. It's like one right after the other, right? It's a lot of talking. Some people that would drain a ton of energy from me because they don't like doing that. That's fine. That's not their purpose, right? But for me, I will get done with recording podcast episodes and I'll have more energy after recording the podcast episodes than before. Yesterday, I did a Facebook Live inside of a Facebook group and I was live for 30 minutes.
Starting point is 00:04:15 I felt like I had more energy. I did the Facebook Live at 6 p.m. I had more energy when I was done than when I started. When I did something, it gave me more energy. It made me feel more motivated. It made me feel more driven. And so if you come back from work at the end of the day and you're exhausted, not just physically, but mentally, spiritually, like you just are, it's not for you. Let me say that again. It's not for you. There's a difference between good exhaustion and bad exhaustion. There's some days where I come home and I've been working, working, working, working, working, working, working. Been at the studio and I was at the office and I was getting things done. Then I come home and I'm like exhausted, but I feel so good and so happy about
Starting point is 00:05:02 it and so fulfilled from doing it. That's the way that I feel now when I come home after a long days of working and I could keep working. I love doing it. But I've also had days of bad exhaustion where I've worked and sold something and worked for a company that felt like they weren't doing any good in the world. And they were just, it was just this big corporate machine that was just made to print money, right? Good is tired, but your heart is full. You feel fulfilled. Bad is you come home exhausted, tired, dragging, irritable, kind of pissed off, and your mind not wanting to go again tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:05:40 And then you get up, your alarm clock goes off, and the first thought that comes in your head is, damn, I got to do this again? And you get up and your alarm clock goes off and the first thought that comes in your head is, damn, I gotta do this again? And you get up and you go do that thing and you get into your car and you get in your car and you're like, oh, I don't wanna leave. I just wanna be home. I wanna do something else.
Starting point is 00:05:57 And you drive to work and you think about how you don't wanna go to work. You have to realize if you're feeling this way, it's your literally, in my opinion, you can take it or leave it. It is like a part of your soul being like, hey, dude, you're fucking killing me. Change. And the longer that you go on with this thing, the worse it gets, the worse it gets, the worse it gets. And then I see a lot of people, no judgment, because I don't think people know this. A lot of people, they've been working the same job for 15, 20, 30 years in the same
Starting point is 00:06:28 industry. They've been working for so long. They're just kind of numb to that now. They hate it, but they don't know anything else other than hating what they do. And they just live their life that way. I don't know. That doesn't sound awesome to me. That doesn't sound like something I want to spend the majority of my waking hours doing. And it's not just work. You could also do this with someone that you're in a relationship with. You could do this with your friends. You could do this with your family. If there's certain people that you're around, there's certain people that you're around and literally being around them is like a full hell yes. Like this person gives me energy. You could spend two hours around. You could be in a deep conversation. You could be going, you could be talking, laughing, and they leave your presence
Starting point is 00:07:08 and you're like, man, I feel awesome right now. You ever had that where you're around somebody and like you're, you leave their presence. You're kind of like smiling. You're kind of like, you're like buzzing. And then there's other people you can spend three minutes with them and you're like, oh my God, I'm exhausted. You can, you don't even have to spend time with them. And you're like, oh my God, I'm exhausted. You don't even have to spend time with them a lot of times. You can think about them and you're exhausted. That's showing you. It is literally your intuition, your spiritual intuition, your compass in life telling you what's right and what's wrong. But most people are just, they try to just mute it. Oh yeah, but we've been friends for so long. I'm still obligated to be friends with her. No, you're not.
Starting point is 00:07:43 just mute it. Oh yeah, but we've been friends for so long. I'm still obligated to be friends with her. No, you're not. You're not. Oh, we just been married for so long. We still have kids. Okay. Well, you can either work on it or you can get out of the relationship. But a lot of people are just like, oh, let's just keep doing the same thing. You know, Lauren and I had a conversation this morning about it. It's crazy how many people stay in relationships for years, like 10 to 20 years, and they're not happy, but they also are too afraid to make a change. And so they just stay. And how miserable of a life that is to lead is just to do something that you don't want to do or to stay with someone that you don't want to be with, to not work on the relationship or to not work on your job or to
Starting point is 00:08:20 not work on yourself and just accept that this is the way that life is. But I'm not saying, hey, you hate your job, quit right now
Starting point is 00:09:43 and leave your children and your house and your mortgage and your wife and all of that stuff. I'm not saying that. You still have your responsibilities. But if you're starting to feel like, hey, what I do now is not what I'm supposed to be doing with myself, well, then maybe you should come up with some sort of transition plan. Can you leave in the next year? Can you leave in two years? Can you say, you know what, by July 2024, I'm going to leave this job and I'm going to be doing X, Y, Z full-time. And start to come up with a plan of how to actually get there and communicate that with your spouse. Hey, this is how I'm feeling. This is what I think I want to do. Can you support me in this? Let's come up with a plan of how we can make sure that we can
Starting point is 00:10:22 make this transition happen. The way that I see it is this. We are all energy in some sort of way. If you want to zoom into a person's hand and look at their hand, it's all just vibrating cells. It's vibrating energy. We're full of energy is what we are. When somebody dies, what happens? Their body doesn't change. Their body's still there. What happened? The energy of them left. And so we're all energy in some sort of way. I believe that there is some sort of force that is more powerful, more magnificent than us that gives us this life force that goes through us. And there's a thing that we're supposed to be doing in this earth. There's something, I don't know what it is. It's for us to discover, you know, to go out our own voyage and discover what it is. And if we're not doing that thing, it's not going to provide us any energy. So we have to come up with that energy.
Starting point is 00:11:08 When you're doing what you're supposed to be doing in this world, it's like the universe just flows through you. It provides all the energy that you need, which is why when you're done with it, you're like, I have all of this extra energy. I feel amazing after doing it. And when you do what you're supposed to be doing, what your purpose in life is, that's when you have energy. That's the universe flowing straight through you and giving all of the energy that you need. But when you're doing what you're not supposed to be doing, not the reason why you're putting on this earth, the universe ain't going to give you any energy. You got to come up with that on your own. So then you come to the question, how do I find what I love to do
Starting point is 00:11:40 then, Rob? How do I do this? Well, first thing I would say, try some new things. If you don't know what your passion is, you've heard me say this. If you've been listening to podcasts for a long time and you haven't done this yet, you have to realize if you don't know what your passion is, that's fine. But it's not okay to not be in constant pursuit to find what it is that you're passionate about. You have to do new stuff. If you keep doing, if you don't, think about how crazy this is. I had somebody ask me this on the live yesterday. How do I find my passion? And I said, well, you have to do different things. And the reason why you have to do different things is because you don't know what your passion is at this moment, right? Which means it's probably
Starting point is 00:12:18 something you've never done before. You haven't discovered it yet. So if you continue to do the same things that you always do, you will never discover that passion so with my biggest recommendation start saying yes more often start saying yes a lot more often than you currently are do things that make you uncomfortable do things outside of your comfort zone figure out what it is that you want to do. There's a really great Japanese word that you can use. It's called ikigai, I-K-I-G-A-I. It means your reason for being, basically your purpose. And there's four questions that you want to ask yourself to discover your purpose. Number one is what do you love? Number two, what are you good at? Number three, what can you be paid for? And number four, what does the world need? What do you love? What are you good at? What can you be paid for?
Starting point is 00:13:11 What does the world need? And if you can find a place where all of those cross, that's usually your reason for being alive. Now, is it easy to find that? Nope, not easy to find that at all. Here's the other thing that's crazy too. Your passion does not have to be your paycheck. Your passion does not have to be your paycheck. A lot of people think I've got to find my passion and find a way to make money off it. Yeah, if you can do that, that would be great. But for a lot of people, it might not be that. It might be that you find a job that's pretty good. You kind of enjoy it. You've got some nice people that you spend time with, but you don't have to work all of the time. You don't have to work crazy intense hours.
Starting point is 00:13:48 And it gives you a lot of freedom. And maybe in those times that you have freedom, maybe you love riding horses. Maybe you were raised around horses your entire life and you've got a horse and you're like, you know what I want to do? I want to help children with disabilities, with understanding their emotions a little bit better through horses. A lot of people train horses on how to help children and people with disabilities. Maybe you try that out and with understanding their emotions a little bit better through horses. A lot of people train horses on how to help children and people with disabilities. Maybe you try that out and you're like, this is my life purpose. Now, can you make money doing it? I don't know. I've never tried. I don't really hang out with horses, but you might be able to. If you can't, can you find something
Starting point is 00:14:19 that you enjoy doing in the time that you are working, not something that you hate, so that you can therefore have some freedom and be able to live your passion outside of your work. You know, if you're working your job and you hate your job, it's going to give you very little energy outside of your job to go and do the thing that you actually love. So it's good to at least like your job. But once again, your passion does not have to be your paycheck. Another thing you do, make a list of your happiness, like your happy list. I had a friend of mine who was fired from Facebook and he missed out on hundreds of millions of dollars. It was right before they went public. He was like number 30 in all of Facebook. He missed out on hundreds of millions of dollars. I think it was
Starting point is 00:15:01 like at one point, like $800 million he would be worth if he would have not been fired a year prior to them going public. And he went into a depression and he eventually woke up from the depression one day and was like, listen, I don't want to be depressed anymore. I just want to be happy. And so he just wrote down everything, made a happy list. Every single thing that makes him happy. It could be like, you know, hanging out with certain people. It could be Oreos. It could be whatever it is. And he would wake up every single day and he would look at his happy list, the things that he loved, and he would plan how to put as many of those things into his day as possible. So do the things that make you happy. When you do something that makes you happy, something that makes you feel good, it's like hitting the power button on a video game.
Starting point is 00:15:42 So it's also the reason why time flies when you're having fun, because the energy is there. The energy is being brought to you. You don't have to come up with energy, but it's also the reason why time moves so slow when you're doing something that you hate. You're dragging your feet. You have no energy. Why? Because the universe is telling you, hey man, this ain't it. Universe is always speaking to you. Are you listening? It's the reason why two people can be the exact same age. One person can be, both people can be 50 years old,
Starting point is 00:16:13 but one person looks 60 and the other looks 40. It's because the majority of your hours are gonna be spent doing something, usually working and then outside, your life in work and your life outside of work. Can you try to find a perfect balance where you're doing as much things that make you feel fulfilled as possible in a way to make money and also outside of that as well? When you're doing something that you hate, something that's sucking the soul out of you, it is exhausting. It is a waste of life.
Starting point is 00:16:39 So why can't you motivate yourself? Why are you so lazy? Might be because of the fact that you don't actually love what you're doing. Want to have more energy? Want to be more motivated? Want to be more driven? Find something that you love to do. That is the secret to not being so lazy and to being more motivated. So that's what I got for you for today's episode. If you love this episode, please share it on your Instagram stories and tag me in it, RobDialJr, R-O-B-D-I-A-L-J-R. I love seeing all of the tags that you guys always put me in and the places where you're listening to this and hanging out and watching this and all that stuff. So if you would tag me in, I would greatly appreciate it. And I'm gonna leave you
Starting point is 00:17:13 the same way I leave you every single episode. Make it your mission to make someone else's day better. I appreciate you and I hope that you have an amazing day.
