Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to today's episode of the Mindset Mentor Podcast. I'm your host Rob Dial and if you have not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so that you never miss another podcast episode. And if you want to follow along with these videos on YouTube, go ahead and follow me on YouTube right now. Rob Dial, R-O-B-D-I-A-L. Type my name in there and I will pop up. Today, we're going to be talking about what you should be listening to every single day and the power of affirmations. And I'm also going to give you the most powerful phrase that is available in any language. And we're going to talk about the power of the words that you use to yourself, but also to other people that you talk to as well.
Starting point is 00:00:43 So this is one thing I've been diving into a lot lately. I've been teaching people in my mastermind this. We've been diving really deep into it. I've been teaching people in everything, every way I possibly can, the power of the words that they use. And I've always known, I've always used the power of my words, but I've also gotten way more into it recently. And, you know, a couple episodes ago, I talked about how to manifest anything that you want to in your life. So if you want to listen to that one as well,
Starting point is 00:01:08 to kind of go along with this, you can go back and listen to it, but it's just basically how the thoughts you have and the words that you use are going to manifest in your life, whatever it is that you think, whatever it is that you say. So one of the parts of manifesting obviously is going to be the words that you use. So let's dive deeper into those words and also how to create affirmations around those. Because one of the things that holds people back the most or propels them forward is the story that they're telling themselves in their head, right? I'll give you a perfect example. Anybody listening have a friend who always talks about how they're broke?
Starting point is 00:01:44 Guess what? anybody listening have a friend who always talks about how they're broke? Guess what? They're going to be broke forever unless they decide that they want to change that story. So somebody sits around and says, I'm broke. I'm broke. I can't do this because I'm broke. They're going to stay broke. I promise you that.
Starting point is 00:02:00 I have friends from high school that are still on that story 20 years later talking about how broke they are. And guess what? They're still broke. Why? Because they are saying the words that they identify with. They then identify back with those words to make the reality real. So there's so much power in the words that we use. So if I don't want to be broke and I want to make money,
Starting point is 00:02:18 I should probably stop saying I don't want to be, or I should probably stop saying that I'm broke, right? So one of the things that people talk about is the power that words have. One of the things they don't talk about, they should talk about more is the energy that they have. Now, for those of you guys think like, maybe I'm going to talk about like some woo woo quantum physics, even though quantum physics, I guess even isn't even real woo woo, but you know, maybe like, oh my gosh, but the energy, I'm not really an energy person. Not a big deal because it's going to make a whole lot of sense here.
Starting point is 00:02:45 I promise you that. I'm the bridge between quote unquote normal people and spiritual people. I'm the gateway drug to spirituality, everybody. So I'm going to talk about the energy that's behind it. And I'm also going to give you, as I said, the most powerful phrase that you can say in any language. And I'm going to give that to you in just a little bit. So let's talk a little bit about, I'll give you an example. Let me give you a couple of examples and let's talk about the
Starting point is 00:03:08 phrase. Let's talk about the energy behind it. Let's talk about everything behind the phrase before we actually dive into the affirmation so that you can see the power of affirmations. Think about the phrase, I have to. How much in your day do you say I have to? I hear this all the time. Oh, I have to do this. I even catch myself saying it. And I'm like, oh shit, I just said I have to. I don't, I don't have to really do anything. There's very few things that I have to do. But when you think about how having to do something feels, how does it feel, right? Not how do you think about what you have to do. How does it feel physically in
Starting point is 00:03:47 your body to have to do something? It doesn't feel good, does it? It feels like heavy. It feels constrictive. It's like a straight jacket that's around you to have to do something, right? Think about it this way. What is a visual or a memory that pops into your head when I say you have to do something? What's a time that, what's a visual that pops in your head of having to do something? What's a memory that you might have of having to do something, right? For me, having to do something makes me feel like a child again, right? Dragging myself miserably through the house. And when my mom's like, you got to mow the lawn. I'm like, Oh, I got to mow the lawn again. And I got to go,
Starting point is 00:04:29 I got to go change. I'm going to smell like grass for a long time and be covered in grass. I got to put glasses on cause I'm going to go blind. Cause those freaking shitty lawnmower that we have always shoot stuff up into my eyes. You know, Oh, I have to clean my room. Like I feel so the, the, the feeling and the visual and the memories that I have of having to do something are never positive. So if I say I have to work out and I don't feel positive with the phrase have to, am I bringing a positive energy into my workout am I going to be motivated to go and workout absolutely not and so the power that you have behind your words is so in the energy that you have behind your words is so incredibly powerful
Starting point is 00:05:13 because people don't think about the energy that it brings in everything that they do having to do something does not make me feel motivated in my body, right? So what do you think my subconscious is thinking of something that I have to do? What is it doing to my body? It's slowing me down. It's lowering my motivation. It doesn't make me want to go and do something, right? Have you ever said the phrase, I have to work out today? Yeah, I bet you have. But guess what? You don't have to do anything. You don't have to work out today. And guess what? You don't have to work out. You get to work out. You know, there's 150,000 people that didn't wake up today. They died yesterday, either last night or yesterday. 150,000 people die every single day. I bet if you were to
Starting point is 00:06:03 ask those people if they could have one more day and work out, every one of them would be like, hell yes, that'd be amazing. I love to. You get to work out, right? You get to work out. Think about how grateful you should be about the fact that your body works and you're able to work out. What about I choose to work out? able to work out. What about I choose to work out? Doesn't choosing to work out sound more powerful? There's more power. There's more energy behind those words. There's more power behind it. There's choice behind the words. There's sovereignty behind the words. I have to work out. Restrictive. Doesn't feel good in my body. I choose to work out is like, listen, I'm in control of my life. I do what I want and I love my body. I want to get better. And so you know what I'm going to do?
Starting point is 00:06:51 I'm going to take care of it. I'm going to go to the gym. I'm going to make it stronger. I'm going to make it healthier. Right? Think about that. Just the energy that those two different phrases, it's, I'm saying almost the exact same thing. I have to work out versus I get to work out or I choose to work out, right? There's power, there's choice, and there's sovereignty when I just change it around. I have to pick my kids up today. Oh, I can't. I have to pick up the kids. You have to pick up the kids or you get to pick up the kids, right? Do you know how many people have had a child die and they would love to pick up their kids? And you're saying have to, as if it's something that's just holding you down. No, you get to pick up your kids. What a freaking blessing that is.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Think about how that shifts your perspective and how it shifts your energy. There's so much power in the words that you use. You spend one third of your life on a mattress and few things are worse than sleeping on a crappy mattress and being sore the entire next day. That's why I recommend Birch. Birch makes organic, non-toxic mattresses made right here in America and shipped straight to your door with no contact delivery, free shipping, free shipping, free returns, and a 100-night sleep trial. And Birch mattresses are made here in America with
Starting point is 00:08:10 just three materials sourced straight from nature, organic latex, New Zealand wool, and American steel springs. Birch mattresses are certified organic and they donate 1% of all of their total sales to the National Forest Foundation, which plants trees in American forests. They're super comfortable. And the fact that they're organic means that you're not going to be breathing in any toxic materials at night or any of the other stuff that other mattresses have. So if you're looking for a new mattress, check out birchliving.com slash dial. Birch is giving $200 off of all mattresses and two free EcoRest pillows at birchliving.com slash dial. That's $200 off all mattresses and two free eco-rest pillows. We just repainted my gym. Actually, it wasn't even a gym. It's my garage. We repainted the garage and we're setting my entire two-car
Starting point is 00:08:59 garage up as an actual gym, right? And it's completely painted black and we're putting white quotes all over it, right? One of the quotes that's going to go up, it's going to say, take a deep breath and remember who the fuck you are, right? Because I want to look at that when I'm like, I don't know if I can go any further. I don't know if I could do another set. And I look at that and I'm like, all right, I'm doing another set, right? Another one says, I am dot, dot, dot. And it's going to say powerful. And it's going to say a few other things. I am phrases, which we're going to talk about in just a little while, right? I choose to work out, not I have to work out. So what I'm
Starting point is 00:09:36 going to do is I'm literally going to have on the wall of my gym, the things that I need to say to myself while I'm working out. One of the things that I say to myself, I'm just going to give you a little secret. I'm going to skip ahead a little bit here. Every single rep that I do when I work out, I say, if it's the first rep, one, I am powerful. Two, I am powerful. Three, I am powerful. Four, I am powerful. Five, I am powerful. Six, I am powerful. Because if I do, you know, 100 or 200 reps total out of my entire workout, I'm saying I'm powerful to myself 100 or 200 times. And what I'm doing is I'm reversing any story that is in my head that doesn't line up with me being powerful. Because here's the thing that holds most people back, pretty much every person back, is that they have a story in their head that's
Starting point is 00:10:21 holding them back from actually doing what it is that they want to do. We are all telling ourselves a story. There's always a conversation happening in our heads at all moments in our life. There's always a conversation happening inside of your head. There's always a narrative happening inside of your head. And that's either pushing you forward or it's holding you back. And if I'm going to be in control of it, I'm going to say what I want to say to myself. One, I am powerful. Two, I am powerful.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Three, I am powerful, right? We're literally, I'm just going to, I'm just going to give you all my secrets. Okay. Before you walk into my front door, we're making a metal board, like literally metal. It's going to be four feet tall and about two and a half feet wide. And it's going to say, before you walk into this house, say these words out loud. I am powerful. I am beautiful. I am amazing. I create my own reality. And we're going to have a list of like 10 different phrases that somebody needs to say before they actually walk into our house.
Starting point is 00:11:11 Why? To clear their mental energy so that they start talking to themselves the way they want. So they show up even better walking into our house. They bring a better energy, which makes us bring a better energy and our energies rise because we're both bringing great energies. Just think about that for a second. Right? The words that are gonna go on the wall, the words in a metal engraved before someone walks into the house, just think about how powerful that can be for somebody. Someone can walk up to our house and be like, oh it could be a, maybe they got off a bad phone call and they want to come over to our house and they want to
Starting point is 00:11:42 be excited, maybe they just had bad news that they got off of the phone call right when they were pulling up to my driveway. They walk up and they're about to knock on the door and they look and it says, say these words out loud to yourself before you walk in. I am powerful. I am beautiful. I'm a creator. I'm an amazing person. Whatever it is, all of the words are still coming up and we haven't finished it yet. Right? If we put that on there, think about how that can shift someone's mental energy to make them feel bad, turning into feeling good before they walk in, right? There's so much power in those things. So another example that people say all of the time that takes all of the power away from them. I don't have enough time or I'm too busy. Really? You are? That takes away all of your choice,
Starting point is 00:12:28 all of your personal sovereignty. It takes all of the, it puts blame on everything externally. Guess who's in charge of your schedule? You. If you quote unquote don't have enough time or quote unquote too busy to get things done, that's your fault. That's nobody else's fault. Take control of it. How can you switch it? I choose to do this instead of this, right? Or just be real with yourself. Instead of saying I'm too busy, say I don't give a damn, right? See if that starts to shift your perspective. Oh, I'm too busy to hang out with the kids today. Oh, I don't really give a damn to hang out with the kids today, right? Is that going to shift your mental energy and go, oh shit, I need to find some
Starting point is 00:13:04 time for my kids today, right? Think about how the energy shifts based off of the words that you use. I'm trying. Oh, I'm trying, right? Sure. Okay. Do or do not, there is no try. You guys have all heard that before. Famous quote, do or do not, there is no try. You're not trying to do anything. You either are or you're not. Okay. Now I kind of, I kind of shifted a little bit and gave you a little bit of drop some seeds, I guess you could say, but let's talk about the most powerful phrase and into building these affirmations. I want to talk about the energy behind the words that you use first. And now I want to talk about the actual words that you use. The most powerful phrase that any human can say in any language is their version
Starting point is 00:13:45 and their language of I am. I am blank. Don't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever say I am and have those words be followed by something that is not the most empowering shit that could come out of your mouth. Okay. I am is the most powerful phrase because it is programming you in the story, in the narrative, in the conversation that you're having constantly inside of your head. It's the most powerful phrase in any language. It either opens the doors to all possibilities or it slams it shut. But you're the one that's in control of which one it is. Do you want all doors to be open to your possibilities to go out and create as this infinitely sovereign being that can create
Starting point is 00:14:32 amazing things with every single step that they take? Or do you want to say, oh, I'm not really, not really smart. Not really. I just think about I'm not the feeling of I'm not the energy about I'm not, the feeling of I'm not, the energy of I'm not. It's not motivating, right? It literally creates your energy. So what energy do you want to create? And that energy creates your identity. It literally creates your identity. And it shifts based off the way that you speak to yourself and the actions that you take in the world that you will create and the reality that you create around you.
Starting point is 00:15:02 There are no words more powerful than I am. Think about this for a second. Let me just give you an example. Think about the energy behind these phrases. Okay. I am powerful. What if you said that out loud to yourself right now? How does it make you feel? Right? I am beautiful. Think about that. How does that make you feel? Think about that. How does that make you feel? I am sexy. How does it make you feel? I am smart. I am amazing. I am loving. I am loved. I am healed. Think about the energy. How does it? Think about that. It's a rhetorical question because you obviously can't answer me because I'm in the middle of a podcast, but think about that and answer in your own head. How does that make you feel to say those types of words? What energy is behind those words? How does that make your body feel? Okay, now let's flip
Starting point is 00:15:55 that. How does this make you feel? You can say it out loud to yourself if you want. I am fat. I am dumb. I am unlovable. I am stupid. I am ugly. How does that make you feel? How's the energy feel around those words? How's the energy feel in your body? How does your body physically feel after saying those words to yourself? Heavy, down, restrictive. There's energy behind everything that you say. And now some of you are out there and you're like, oh yeah, but you know, I have a BS meter. And one of the things that holds me back with affirmations is that I'm supposed to say a bunch of things that aren't really even true right now. Like I'm wealthy, I'm rich, right? No. Let me teach you how to create the right affirmation for you. Okay. I have a BS meter. It's very strong. And anything that I say that isn't completely lined up, my BS meter is going
Starting point is 00:16:53 to go off. It's just the way that it's going to happen. There's three parts to creating a powerful affirmation. Number one, your affirmation has to be true. Number two, your affirmation has to be present tense. And number three, your affirmation has to be true. Number two, your affirmation has to be present tense. And number three, your affirmation has to be empowering. It has to be true, present tense, and empowering, right? So instead of saying, I am wealthy and all of the universe's wealth is flowing into my bank account.
Starting point is 00:17:18 As soon as you hear that, you're like, that's fucking false, right? I know what that feels like. I've done it. I've watched The Secret. I've read the book, The Secret, and it's a beautiful book. And it got on to, you know, starting to think this way. But there's a lot that's missing from it. And one thing that's missing from it is that we
Starting point is 00:17:30 all have a BS meter and mine goes off anytime I'm lying to myself. And if I say all of the money from the universe is flowing into my bank account, I'm looking up to the sky with my hands open and I'm like, yeah, but I still can't pay my bills, right? Like I've been in that situation before. So what's a better way of saying that type of stuff? Instead of saying I am rich or I am wealthy, let's say something true, present tense and empowering. Instead of saying I am rich, I am working hard to create more wealth every day. How about that? Does that make you feel better? How's that feel in your body? Instead of saying I am am rich. When I say I am rich, it's like tasting a cotton ball. There's no flavor to it. I am rich. It feels that way. I am working hard to create more wealth every day. Ooh,
Starting point is 00:18:19 all right. I feel that. I'm working hard to create more wealth every single day. That's true because I've been working hard. That's present tense and it's empowering. Makes me want to get up and start working, doesn't it? What if I look at my body and I'm like, I am fit. And I'm looking, I'm like, my BS meter is saying I got a fat ass, right? So that's going to happen. Yep. My BS meter is going to say I got, you know, chunky thighs. My BS meter is going to say that I'm way too thin, whatever it is. My BS meter says I have no muscle on my body, whatever your BS meter says. Instead of saying I am fit, how about I am working hard to create a strong and healthy body? How's that make you feel? Instead of your BS meter going off, I am working hard
Starting point is 00:19:05 to create a strong and healthy body. And when you say this, you're opening up the doors of possibility to create any freaking reality that you want to in this entire world. How amazing is that? But what you're doing is you're changing the narrative inside of your head to something that is empowering versus saying something that's negative. 60 to 80,000 thoughts every single day that a human has, 90% of them are negative. Let's start to change that by telling ourselves what we want to hear. Say it over and over and over and over again. What is the narrative that you want? Can you say it to yourself every single set? One, I'm working hard to create a body that's strong and beautiful. One, two, I'm working hard to create a body that's strong and beautiful. Whatever it is that you want to say to yourself, right? Maybe it's confidence
Starting point is 00:19:48 is something that you're working at. One, I am confident. Two, I am confident. Three, I am confident. Four, I am confident. Five, I am confident. What's interesting is you'll actually start to notice changes in your physiology, the way that you hold yourself more powerful, your shoulders will go back. You'll stand taller. You'll be more ready to go take on whatever it is you need to. Your thoughts and your words will change your physiology, change your actions, change the way that you feel about yourself, and all of those things will slowly but surely start to change your identity.
Starting point is 00:20:17 So are affirmations important? Absolutely. But finding the ones that line up to you are the most important ones. So start with the phrase, I am. And then make it strong, make it true, make it present tense, and make it empowering. Because the words that you use create the reality that you're going to have. So that's what I got for you for today's episode. If you love this episode, please share it with someone that you know and love.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Also, please share this on your Instagram stories if it impacted you in any way. The only way that we grow is from you guys sharing it on your stories. So tag me in it if you do. Rob Dial Jr. R-O-B-D-I-A-L-J-R. And I'm going to leave you every single episode the exact same way. Make it your mission. Make someone else's day better. I appreciate you and I hope that you have an amazing day.
