Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast, one of the top-rated motivational podcasts in
the world. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I come out with a short, to-the-point, no-BS
podcast designed to transform you from who you are today into who you want to be. There's
no fluff here, just life-changing content. My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now.
Welcome to today's episode.
If you have not yet done so, please subscribe to us however you listen to us.
If you have not yet joined in on one of my webinars, I'm going to be running just a couple more before I head out to Italy.
So if you want to sign up and learn how to rewire your brain for success
in one of my free webinars, sign up at mwfmotivation.com slash webinar.
And then last but not least,
I'm going to be having a few more phone calls with people
to get them signed up for group coaching
if they're interested in group coaching before I leave for Italy as well. And I'm also going to be giving a massive
discount, a 25% discount to anybody who signs up before I leave for Italy. So if you're interested
in signing up for my group coaching program and you want to do so with a massive discount,
send me an email, rob at mwfmotivation.com. We can have a real quick conversation about it
because once I go out to Italy, it's going to be a lot harder to get in touch with me and for me to
communicate with you guys. But nothing will change with the podcast. The podcast will still be here.
The group coaching will still be there. My one-on-one coaching, everything's going to be
exactly the same. I'm just going to be in a different country. But don't take my word for
it on if the group coaching is good or not. Listen to somebody who's part of the group right here. Hi, my name is Christina Collins. I am a listener of the MWF
podcast with Rob Dial, and I jumped into his group coaching as soon as it opened. I signed on for
the year, and it's been so far the best year of my life. He's helped me with my paradigm.
He has helped me break out of my comfort zone and the inspiring members in the group have also
supported me through many obstacles and we cheer on each other's successes as well. I hope to see
you in the group soon. Today what we're going to talk about is don't wish for less problems, acquire more skills. And the thing about don't wish for less problems is most people, they think that
if I had less problems, I would be more successful. If I had less stuff that I had to do all the time,
I would be more successful. And the thing with that is less problems don't make you more successful. More skills make you more successful. So the biggest
tip that I can give you is to be eager to learn as much as you possibly can. And I've said it on
the podcast before. I read a lot. I read a ton. I don't do it to brag and boast and say that I
read a lot. I read a lot because I love to learn.
Here's the interesting thing. I absolutely hate reading. Reading itself, the process of reading
drives me crazy. But I read anyways because I know to be the person that I want to be,
there's a gap between who I am now and the person that I want to be. And the only thing that's going
to get me to the person that I want to be is by getting more knowledge into my brain. Knowledge is the bridge you need to cover the gap
from where you are versus where you want to be. And I've gotten emails recently too from some of
my listeners that say, I love listening to your podcast. It inspires me. But my biggest problem
is that I'm not the person that goes out
and does it. I love listening to it, but then I don't actually put any of it into action.
And that's the biggest problem is that you have to put the knowledge, the stuff that you learn
into action. You have to take the things you learn and you have to use them. And no matter how well
you're doing in life, no matter how much money you have in your bank account or how little you have in your bank account, we can always gain more knowledge. And sometimes it's that little bit of knowledge is
all you need to make a huge step in life. It's like Tony Robbins says, sometimes the difference
between where you are and where you need to be could be as small as a two millimeter shift.
If you ever watched a golfer, if you ever gone golfing before,
if you hit it straight down the line, perfect shot. The next time you could go and you could do the exact same shot, but two millimeters off, the tiniest bit off, and it could be a terrible
shot. So a two millimeter difference sometimes is all that you need to make. So some of you that
are so close to being successful, you're working so hard towards your goal, you're an entrepreneur, you're doing something that you're really working
hard towards, you might be so close to getting to where you need to be that you're two millimeters
off. You're two millimeters off, but you just need to learn something more, just a little bit of
knowledge you need to gain. And ideas in your life come from the light bulb that turns on by acquiring
more knowledge. One of the reasons why I do love reading, even though I actually hate the process
of it, is because as I'm reading, it makes me think. More than anything else, I think the times
that I get the most inspired and I get the best ideas is when I'm reading a book about something
else and something clicks in my head and I go, oh man, that's really good. I didn't even realize that. So in order for things to change for you,
in order for your life to change, you have to change. You have to gain more knowledge.
And this is the thing that people don't do. This is what they resist. This is what I'm talking
about where some people are out there and I know I have listeners that are out there that do every
single thing and they go out and they get off the call. I have coaching clients that I have that I know they listen to the episodes and then they go out and
do it. And it's showing in their life. It's showing in all of the steps that they're making
towards becoming a better person, becoming who they want to be. But there's also people out there
who don't make the changes because they're afraid to make the changes. And in order for things to
change for you, sometimes you need
to change. You need to focus on personal development. You need to focus on becoming
smarter. Focus on becoming more knowledgeable. Focus on becoming the best version of yourself.
It's very, very simple. You can't just listen to my podcast. As much as I love that you listen to
my podcast and I'm appreciative, I don't know everything and I don't claim to know everything, but I know that you need to be very simple with
this and start working on yourself.
Start working on yourself more than anything else.
Put yourself before anybody else.
If you have family, if you have kids, you might say, that's crazy.
I can't put myself before anybody else because I have this family I have to take care of.
And for me, I'm going to call BS on that, because the better you become, the better your relationships become, the better your children
become, the better your family becomes. The more skills that you acquire, the more valuable you
become to the marketplace as well. The more valuable you become to the marketplace, the more
you get paid, the better you can take care of your family. So some people say, and I won't go too
in-depth on this because I don't want to start any people getting mad about what I say with this,
but some people say it is unjust that CEOs make millions, tens of millions, sometimes hundreds
of millions of dollars per year. Some CEO make hundreds of millions of dollars per year, and some
people say that is unfair. And they say it's unfair because they're looking at it from a fixed mindset. They're looking at it from, well, I only make $50,000 a year. It's
unfair that that person makes $100 million a year. They're starving people out there. It's unfair
this person makes $100 million a year. The reason why that person makes $100 million a year, why
they make so much money is because they have knowledge that they're bringing to that company
and how much value they bring to that company is how much they're paid. Let's say somebody's paid $50
million. $50 million is a lot of money to make in a year, but most of the time that money is paid on
the growth of the stock and the growth of the company. So if a CEO brings an extra billion
dollars per year to a company, an extra $2 billion per year.
Are they worth that $50 million?
Yeah, that $50 million is chump change
compared to the billions more
they're bringing in to the company.
And that's the thing that you need to realize
is that they're paying that person
on the growth that company is making
and that growth is coming
because of the knowledge that that CEO has.
So the difference between where you are and where you want to be is just knowledge.
The thing that is going to build the bridge between where you are and where you need to
be is that knowledge.
So you have to realize when someone says they, you know, they make $50 million per year,
that's unjust.
You have to realize it's not unjust.
They're getting paid what they're worth.
And the sad
thing is, and I'm going to just be completely upfront with you, you might not be paid as much
as you want, but you're probably being paid what you're worth, what you're bringing to that company.
And there's the whole thing. Here's the whole problem with this is people complain
about unfair wages, that CEOs are making tons of money and that,
you know, that some of the people that are working for the company are making minimum wage and that
minimum wage isn't enough. It's not the problem. The pay is not the problem. The problem is the
people that are working there aren't bringing the value to the marketplace. They aren't working to
their full potential. They're complaining instead of making themselves more valuable.
to their full potential. They're complaining instead of making themselves more valuable.
Some people say, oh, you know, that's, I hate my dead end job. Your job is not a dead end job.
No job is a dead end job. It's a dead end job. If you don't work your ass off at that job and bring as much possible value, I'll tell you this, no matter how bad a company is going,
if the company is still running, they don't fire their best employees. So if someone gets fired,
I'm just going to tell you they weren't bringing enough value to the company. We're bringing a
value to the marketplace. And like I said, there's people complaining about minimum wage and I won't
go too in depth on it. I don't want to offend people or go against what some people might think,
but why would a company pay some a minimum wage? because that person is bringing minimum value to the company.
But here's the beautiful thing. That person controls their knowledge. That person controls
how much knowledge they bring, how much value they bring to that company. You are in control
of how much knowledge you bring to your company if you work for someone. And so instead of wishing
for a wage to be higher, wishing for a raise to be there, wishing
for someday maybe they get a raise or they get out of minimum wage, they should be working
towards acquiring more skills, acquiring more knowledge to make themselves more valuable
to their companies.
Now, I'm not saying this person's not valuable to the world as a brother or husband or son
or wife or sister or daughter, whatever it might be.
I'm saying that
they're not as valuable as they can be to the company and they're not as valuable as they can
be to the marketplace. And if you're not getting paid what you want to be paid, ask yourself this
question, what do I need to learn and how hard do I need to work to make myself more valuable to my
company? We all hear about people who start at the bottom of a company and
within 15, 20 years, they're the CEO of it. I actually know somebody, one of my uncles was
at the very bottom of a company and became a CEO of a company and is a multi-multi-millionaire.
He's one of my great uncles. And the thing about that is what he did was he acquired the skills
and worked his ass off to get to where he wanted to be and made tons of money doing so. He took the company as a CEO from $50 million to over a billion dollars. Do you think he was paid
for the value that he brought? Absolutely. So how can you make more money? By acquiring the right
skills needed to make yourself more valuable. Is it possible to become a millionaire? Is it possible to become worth millions of
dollars? Yes, you can do it. I can do it. Every single person that's listening to my voice can
do it. But what you have to do is you have to get off your butt and you have to start learning
and you have to start figuring out what you need to learn and how you can get your knowledge to
the point where you become worth more and worth more value to the marketplace and
to the company that you're working for. If you run your own business, the more that you learn,
the more that you can bring out to the world. You are paid by the value that you bring.
If you're not pushing yourself to learn more, I guarantee there's somebody else at your competition
that is. The person that outworks you beats you. The person that learns more than you beats you.
The person that's more knowledgeable beats you. The person that learns more than you beats you. The
person that's more knowledgeable beats you. And the person that beats you is always going to get
paid more. Here's the key. Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. Learn to work
harder on yourself than you do on your job. It's like Abe Lincoln said, if I had six hours to cut
down a tree, I would spend five of those hours sharpening my axe, which means that he would
spend five of those hours. If he had a certain amount of time to do something, he would work on
himself longer than he would work on the actual project so that he could get the project done
better. Work hard on your job so that you can make a living. Learn to work hard on yourself
so that you can make millions. If you work hard in your job, you can make a living and
you can do pretty well. If you work hard on yourself and you make the absolute dedication
more than anything else to a lifetime of personal development, of knowledge, of acquiring skills,
of becoming better, you can become a millionaire. And if millions is not what you want in the world,
it doesn't matter. If you're trying to impact as many people as possible in the world,
becoming smarter, becoming knowledgeable is going to do that as well.
So it's not just about the money.
It's about becoming the best version of yourself
and listening to this podcast and then not doing crap with it
is not going to get you anywhere.
I'm sorry I got to say it that way,
but you just have to realize,
you need to realize this is the only life that you're going to have.
Don't waste it. Please don't waste it. Become the best version of yourself. Learn as much as
you possibly can and then use that knowledge to become more valuable and impact as many lives
you possibly can and try not to become rich when you do that. Just try. It's hard not to become
rich when you put a lot of value into your marketplace by learning a lot and becoming the person that
you can be. So what you have become at this current moment is exactly the person that you
are from all of the stuff that you've learned in your past. What you need to become is just where
you are now. And then you just have to add all of the knowledge that you need to in order to
become the person that you need to become,
the experiences you need to go through,
the failures that you need to go through.
If you listen to the last episode
where you learn from your mistakes,
you need to fail in order to become better.
You need to fail in order to learn more,
to become better and to become the best version of yourself.
So with that, if you get nothing else from this episode,
work on yourself more than you work on anything else and your life will become better.
Your job will become better.
Your bank account will become better.
Your family, your relationships, your freedom, everything will become better.
If you like this episode, please share it with someone that you know that you think
would be able to get value from it.
And with that, I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode.
Make it your mission today to make somebody else's day better.
I appreciate you. Go out, learn some stuff,
work on yourself, and go put that into the marketplace. And I'll talk to you soon.
