Starting point is 00:00:44 I just hit 100,000 subscribers on Instagram. So I'm doing a giveaway sometime this week. I'm going to be giving out a free set of wireless Beats by Dre headphones. They're pretty sweet. They're all black. They're wireless. They can be wired. They can be wireless.
Starting point is 00:01:00 They can be wired. Either one, whichever one you choose. All you have to do is just charge them. So if you're interested in joining in on that contest, there shouldn't be a whole lot of people that are going to join, so you have a pretty good chance of winning. Go and follow me on Instagram. It's RobDialJr, R-O-B-D-I-A-L-J-R.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Follow me on there. I'm going to start putting up the information on there. And if you don't follow me on Instagram, you should anyways because I put a bunch of really good stuff up there. And I have some pretty exciting things that are coming down the line. So I'm probably going to be announcing them on Instagram first. So follow me on Instagram, R-O-B-D-I-A-L-J-R. Okay, let's go ahead and dive into today's episode. So one thing I wanted, this would be a super short episode. And the reason why is because I want to share a poem with you. And the poem kind
Starting point is 00:01:45 of deals with perception. So let me go ahead and I'm going to go ahead and give you the poem and then talk about it. Okay. It is called the worst day ever. Okay. So here's what it says. Today was the absolute worst day ever. And don't try to convince me that there's something good in every day. Because when you take a closer look, this world is a pretty evil place. Even if some good does shine through once in a while, satisfaction and happiness don't last. And it's not true that it's all in the mind and heart. Because true happiness can be attained only if one's surroundings are good. It's not true that good exists. I'm sure that you can agree the reality creates my attitude.
Starting point is 00:02:32 It's all beyond my control. And you'll never in a million years hear me say today was a good day. Now, let me tell you that exact same poem, but in reverse. And we'll see if it changes a little bit. You ready? Here's the poem in reverse. Today was a very good day. And you'll never in a million years hear me say, it's all beyond my control. My attitude creates the reality. I'm sure that you can agree that it's not true that good exists only if one's surroundings are good. True happiness can be attained because it's all in the mind and heart. And it's not true that satisfaction and happiness don't last. Some goodness does shine through once
Starting point is 00:03:18 in a while, even if this world is a pretty evil place. Because when you take a closer look, is a pretty evil place. Because when you take a closer look, there's something good in every day. And don't try to convince me that today was the absolute worst day ever. Now, this has to do with your perspective. When you're struggling, sometimes you just need a different perspective. Sometimes you just need to look at something completely differently because these are the exact same words. The first way seems absolutely negative, but when you reverse it, it seems extremely positive. It's all about our perception. Your world is created by the perception, the lens that you view your world through. So if you're having a terrible day, you created that terrible day,
Starting point is 00:04:12 right? I'm sure that there's somebody else in the world that would love to have your terrible day. Your terrible day could be their best day ever because they've been through a lot worse things. So the thing I want you to think about from this poem is what is my perception? And can I change my perception? If I'm looking at something negative, if I'm having a terrible day, how can I flip it upside down like this poem and turn it into an amazing day? Because your perception creates your reality. If you like this episode, please do me a favor. Share this with someone that you know and someone that you love. I can't take credit for this poem. This was actually written by a 17-year-old. A 17-year-old. Can you believe that? A 17-year-old was able to write this. And her name is Chani
Starting point is 00:04:53 Gorkin. She's from New York. And so I can't take credit for it, but it's amazing. If you love this poem though, send it over to someone that you know and love. And I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode. Make it your mission to make that you know and love. And I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode. Make it your mission to make somebody else's day better. I appreciate you and I hope that you have an amazing day.
