Welcome to today's episode of the Mindset Mentor podcast. I am your host Rob Dial and
if you have not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so that you never ever miss another
podcast episode. Today I'm going to be talking about how you are currently in the position
to turn into a beautiful butterfly. So I was talking to my sister earlier today,
and my sister is putting in a butterfly garden.
And she's talking about how, you know,
there's these certain plants that you can grow.
And there's only one, I think it's called milkweed or something like that.
I don't know plants, but I think it's called milkweed, if I'm not mistaken.
And she's like, if you put it in here, monarch butterflies will come up and they'll show.
We start talking about the life cycle of a butterfly because I was curious. And we start talking about how the monarch
butterfly only lays its eggs on top of this milkweed. And the reason why is because the
butterflies, before the term butterflies as they are caterpillars, they only eat this milkweed.
And so what they do is they lay their eggs on it. And we're talking about the whole process
of a caterpillar, you know,
going from an egg to a caterpillar to going inside of its pupa, which is what they call it, a cocoon,
to becoming a beautiful, massive monarch butterfly. And this process takes, you know,
a couple of different cycles. And once there's a couple of different cycles, there should be so
many monarch butterflies around her house. And as I was thinking about it, I really thought that
this is the exact same process. And I made a video on this really thought that this is the exact same process,
and I made a video on this last week. This is the exact same process that all of us are currently
going through. Just because you're quarantined, just because you're stuck in your house,
quote unquote stuck in your house, it doesn't mean that your life has to end,
and if you're listening to this podcast, I guarantee you're not one of the type of people
where you're seeing this as something that's holding you back. And if you are, you're actually looking at the wrong way because maybe this
quarantine is your cocoon and you're not stuck in a cage or you're not stuck in your house or
being caged in your house. You're being contained for your growth. Think about that for a second.
Maybe your house is actually your cocoon. See, because there's two
ways to look at the world. Number one is that you can look at the world as if everything's happening
to me, or you can look at the world and say, everything is happening for me. Now there's the
victim mindset. The victim mindset's like, oh, woe is me. This is happening to me. Oh, this virus is
happening. Oh, this is happening. Oh, she said that to me and that's the way my life is. That's
the way I've always been treated. Or you can look at something and say, you know what? This virus, although it's
happening to the entire world, it is specifically also happening for me as well as every single
other person. They're having their own specific reasons why they're going through this. This is
happening for me. And you've heard me say it over and over and over and over and over again because
I can't harp on it enough. What are you supposed to learn from this? How can you have that champion's mindset?
See, in order for the caterpillar to turn into the butterfly, it has to spend about 30% of its life
in a cocoon. 30%. Imagine if you had to spend 30% of your life inside of your house,
how much worse would that be than the current time that you've been in your house right now? And only, only after that 30% can it go and become
a beautiful butterfly. If it goes through that stage of growth, right? A caterpillar does not
become a butterfly until it goes through that stage of growth. Think about that for yourself.
Maybe before this lockdown, maybe before the virus, we were all just caterpillars. Maybe
you were a caterpillar and that this process is turning you into a butterfly. It's the stage
of growth that you need to go through. What if you're in that stage of growth right now?
This could be your greatest opportunity to grow into who you've always wanted to become.
opportunity to grow into who you've always wanted to become. Maybe that's more peaceful. Maybe that's happier. Maybe it's more joy. Maybe it's more driven. Whatever it is for you, this is your
opportunity to do it. You may never have an opportunity like this again. It might never
happen. You might never get this opportunity to have this much time, dedicated time to be able to work on
yourself and have no distractions. What can you learn from this? What hobby or skill do you need
to develop? Whether that's just a hobby to have fun or a skill that's going to make you better
or more money or more success or happier or whatever it is that it might be, right? Have
you always wanted to learn guitar? Have you had that acoustic guitar sitting in the corner for seven years? And you're like,
you know what? YouTube is free. I'm going to go onto YouTube and learn some guitar.
Have you always wanted to start painting? Maybe you used to paint a lot as a kid and that's lying
dormant inside of you. Cause I believe that every single person has creativity inside of them that
they want to get out. And I honestly think that a lot of issues
that people have is that they're not actually getting rid of the creativity that's inside of
them. So what about painting? What about polishing up on your photography skills? Do you have an old
camera that you've been wanting to use? Maybe you want to get better at your photography or
videography or maybe your editing skills. Maybe you can start posting those online.
What learning do you want to learn? Do you
want to learn how to make a great meal for a loved one? Maybe you want to learn how to make that
really good dinner. Maybe you can start going onto YouTube and see all these different lessons.
Go onto, you know, that website masterclass and start learning from them. What are you looking
to develop? Maybe a deeper conversation, a deeper connection with a significant other of yours.
Maybe this is
the time where you've been too busy and you've had kids running around and you got married and
things happened too fast and you haven't been able to actually take the time to develop that
deeper relationship. Maybe now, what if now is the time? Can you spend more time with your loved
ones? Can you spend more time with your children? Can you just not look at your phone and just go on a complete detox from technology for a day and just spend
dedicated time with your family, with your loved ones, with your children, with your significant
other? Just because we're physically distant doesn't mean that we need to be socially distant.
You know, set more FaceTime dates. There's a great app I'm going to tell you guys about. I wish they
were sponsoring me so, you know, I could get some, get some pay for, for promoting
how many people are about to download. Cause a lot of people are about to download it. If you
haven't downloaded, um, party, what is it called? Uh, some of you guys are out there saying it to
me house party. If you have not downloaded house party yet, you can have like eight people on
FaceTime at one point in time. You can play games. You know, my mom, my sister, and my sister's kids, we spent two hours on it today just
talking, right?
We've never spent two hours in my entire 34 years in this planet.
We've never spent two hours on the phone together.
We spent two hours on FaceTime playing house party, going through, mostly just talking.
And then the last like 15 minutes, we decided to play a game because they have games that
are on there as well.
So can you set more FaceTime dates just because you're socially distant from the people that you love,
even if it's your friends, can you spend more time with them face-to-face through the phone
until you can be face-to-face in person right now? What about meditating? What about your spirit?
Have you been wanting to work in your spirit, finding your sense of peace,
finding more joy in your life, working on your emotions? Maybe that's something that you want.
You're like, man, you know what? I've got too much anger issues. I want to get past my anger issues,
develop a deeper sense of peace. Maybe I want to feel more joy in my life, just more happiness. Just let go of my stress or my anxiety or my sadness. What about your body? Can you work each day at creating a body that
you can be proud of? You know, that's why I've created this, this seven day challenge is just
to get everybody up and just go for it. And then the seven day challenge that we have, you know,
literally for seven days, it doesn't cost anything myself. I'm going to be putting up pictures or
videos on my Instagram stories of me working out to hold myself accountable. And you can put up
videos of your holding yourself accountable and just tag me in it,
in your stories, Rob Dial Jr. R-O-B-D-I-A-L-J-R. And like I said, if you heard it in the beginning
of the episode, you know, the person who I'm going to pick somebody from all of the
Instagram stories that go out this week out of, if you just post every single day, you working out
a video, a picture, whatever it is, and tag me in it, you're going to go into a drawing for a free
one-on-one session with me, which I don't even do one-on-one sessions anymore. So it's a free
one-on-one session with me, which is valued at over $2,000. So that's why I want to do it because
I know of how, how much people need to be healthy right now. So can you work on your body? Can you
use this time, this seven day challenge to take the time and go, you know what? I'm going to use this to start,
to restart my fitness with myself, with my body, because it's so important for us right now to be
working on our bodies, working on our health, developing a strong immune system. Let's go at
it. Let's figure out a way to work out every single day. Me and you, I'm going to put up a
story every single day of me working out, not because I want to brag or anything like that, because I want to hold
myself accountable to it. Can you put up a story every single day of you working out to hold
yourself accountable for it and then tag me in it? And if you tag me in it, you automatically
go into a drawing for a one-on-one coaching call with me, which is valued over $2,000,
because I want to motivate my listeners to be happy, to be healthy, to work on the temple
that they have. We always hear about this temple that we've been given. Can you work on that body
that you've always dreamed of, that you've always seen in your mind? It's always been on your vision
board. Work on that temple to be as healthy and fit as possible. Use this time to kickstart so
that you can work and maybe you haven't taken care of your body as
much as you need to. And maybe you can use this time to work on it and maybe add an extra five
or 10 years to your life. Be able to spend five or 10 more years with your children,
with your grandchildren, right? So work on that body. What about learning? Can you finally read
those books that have been sitting on a shelf for so many years? What about those online classes
that you've been wanting to take
or the online course you've been wanting to take,
but you've just been quote unquote too busy to do it?
Now's the time.
You have to think about it that way.
Can you work on being more present
with everyone around you mentally, physically,
spiritually, emotionally, all of those things?
This is your time.
You've been given a gift.
You have to realize you've been given this
gift. You're not stuck at home. You're safe at home. This is your cocoon. You're not in a cage.
You're in a cocoon. This is your stage of growth. This is a time for you to work on yourself,
to learn, to grow, to work on yourself mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally,
every aspect of yourself so that when you come out of this, because this will end, I promise you this will end. This too shall pass. But what you
do right now will dictate who you will be when all of this is over. So hopefully when you finally
step out of your cocoon, you will be the beautiful butterfly you've always wanted to be. Because you
may never get this chance again.
So work on yourself. Appreciate this cocoon. Once again, you're not stuck at home. You're safe at home. And by the end of this, your goal should be to come out as a beautiful butterfly. So that's
what I got for you for today's episode. If you love this, please, once again, go ahead and share
it on your Instagram stories. Go ahead. If you're working out, if you're going to join this seven
day challenge, you're going to work out this every single day for seven days.
Let's do it. It's time to do it. I'm down to do it. And all you have to do is just tag me in your
Instagram stories. If you're working out, uh, Rob dial junior, R O B D I A L J R. And once again,
uh, you will go into a drawing for a free coaching call with me. I would love to see you guys on
there. This is my way of just wanting to bring the community together in this time when so many people need to be working on themselves.
So anyways, that's what I got for you for today's episode. If you love it, please share with someone
you know and love. And I'm going to leave you the same way I leave you every single episode.
Make it your mission to make someone else's day better. I appreciate you.
And I hope that you have an amazing day.
