Today, we're going to be talking about many different areas of your life and actually
talking about if the things that you are doing in your life or the things that you have in your life
are going to help you or hurt you
towards whatever it is that you're trying to build.
And first off, what this comes down to more than anything else before we dive into it
is you being intentional with your life.
If you've been listening to me long enough, you know how much I talk about intention.
You know how much I talk about figuring out whatever it is that you need to do
and actually acting on
it. Too many people are living a life where they've been asleep. It's like they've been
driving a car and they've just been asleep the entire time. And being asleep means that you're
unaware of most of the stuff. You're unaware of what's going on in your life and what's serving
you and what's not serving you. Have you ever sat down and thought about all of the things that you
do? Like everything. Have you thought about the times that you wake up, the food that you're eating,
if you work out or don't work out, the place that you work, the people that you surround yourself
with, everything that you do. Have you sat down and thought to yourself, does this serve me or
does this not serve me? Have you decided if it's good for you or not? And it's like an awakening
process because if you really get intentional with this,
you start to realize there's a lot of things
that you do in your life that are good,
but there's a lot of things that you do in your life
and you're like, why in the hell am I still doing this?
Why in the hell am I still allowing this person
to talk to me?
Why in the hell am I still not taking care of myself?
Part of the awakening process is realizing
that you have been asleep.
And then being asleep means being unaware of most
of the stuff that you're doing that's not serving you. Have you been living a lot of your life
asleep? Just not realizing and being unaware to many things? You know, and I want to take you
through a process that I went through years ago, like October, 2010. So we're looking at a long
time ago now. I was going through like the worst time in my life.
Like relationship wasn't going well.
Business wasn't going well.
I was broke because I had ran my company
into the ground on accident
by just making a couple wrong decisions.
And I had to go through every aspect of my life
and be like, hey, is this what I want?
Or is this not what I want?
And if it is what I want,
or if it's something that I can improve and get better, I'm gonna keep it. But what I want or is this not what I want? And if it is what I want or if it's
something that I can improve and get better, I'm going to keep it. But if I'm realizing that this
thing is not serving me anymore, it's got to go and it's got to go fast. And so we're going to go
through many things today. And my goal is to help you try to wake up to the actions that you take
and to see if they are actually serving you for your higher good.
You may have heard me say this before, but one of the questions that will really help you out the
most as you're thinking through this is, hey, is what I'm doing right now getting me closer to or
further from my goals? You know, if you're sitting on the couch and it's the middle of the day and
you're supposed to be building your business, but you're on Instagram, is what I'm doing right now getting me closer to
or further from my goals?
And I'm guessing that's probably getting you
further from your goals.
And if it's getting you further from your goals,
it's something that you have to do,
something that you have to stop doing.
You have to get rid of and you have to change immediately.
So does it serve me?
Does it serve me for my highest good?
10 years from now, if you fast forward and you look at your dream life,
the life that you want, if you look at what you have, you can say, is this thing serving me for
my dream life that I'm trying to create? Or is it not? Is this something that I need to keep?
Or is this something I got to get rid of? If you look at the life that you want in 10 years,
if you look at the family that you want in 10 years, if you look at the family that you want
in 10 years, if you look at the business and the bank account that you want in 10 years, if you
look at the house that you want in 10 years, if you look at the relationship with your children
that you want in 10 years, if you look at the places that you're traveling in 10 years and the
clothes and the happiness and the love and the respect, the impact that you're having on the
world, and you're looking at that future.
All of that stuff is fully possible.
But you've got to get out of your own way.
And you've got to stop self-sabotaging yourself.
So I want to go through the same process with you
that I went through myself.
When I look back and I'm like,
all right, well, in 10 years,
what do I want my life to look like?
My relationships, my business, my family,
where I travel to, cars, all of these things.
Like, what do I want in 10 years? I'm going to take you through the exact same process, okay?
We're going to go through everything in your life, and we're going to see if it supports your future
or if it holds you back, okay? We're going to see if it supports your future or if it holds you back
in some sort of way, okay? So one thing that's big, and I mean, really, really big is alcohol. Oh, you didn't think we're going to talk about this today, did you? Well, we are.
When you look at alcohol, alcohol stays in your system for 80 hours, up to 80 hours,
it'll stay in your system. And for me, I think, you know, I've had some, I've, I've drank a lot
of alcohol in my lifetime, but if you look at it and you say,
okay, there was a point in my time
where I'm being honest with you,
where I was building my business
and I was realizing that when I went out
on the weekends with my friends,
Monday I would wake up and I wouldn't feel the best.
I wouldn't feel bad, but I didn't feel 100% on it.
And I didn't feel like my brain was cranky
and I didn't feel like I was as motivated.
I felt like I was tired.
I felt like I was groggy.
And then it got to the point where I was like, is alcohol serving me for my greater
good and what I'm trying to do in the world? Am I using it for good? Am I using it for numbing?
You know, if I'm going out, am I celebrating my success or do I not have what I want yet?
And ultimately, does it serve me? Does it serve you when you look at alcohol? It might
be yes. And if it is, cool. It might be no. For a lot of people, they literally don't know why
they drink alcohol. They just happen to be drinking it. And the problem with that is if
you're trying to build your business, you're trying to get promoted, you're trying to get
more sales or whatever it is you're trying to do in your life, and you're not 100% on it when you
go into work or you go into your business,
then that thing is not serving you for the life that you're trying to create.
And so what if you just took 30 days off, just a month?
What if you took 60 days off?
And just see if not having it in your life
actually makes a positive shift.
I did this for myself and I realized,
oh my God, if I don't drink on the Saturday,
you know, Friday and Saturday,
Monday, I feel amazing. I feel so much better. And I feel like it gets so much more done on Monday than I do on the nights, on the weekends when I do drink. Made a very easy decision at that
point. I was like, yeah, alcohol, it's got to go. It's not really the thing that I want. And so it's
just an example of something that I went through that helps me figure out what I want and what I
do want in my life, what I don't want and what I do want in my life. Okay. So think about that. Alcohol,
is it serving you or is it not serving you? Okay. What about the food that you eat? The food that
you eat, does it serve you? Does it give you energy or is it so heavy that it takes energy
away from you because it takes a lot of digestion? I don't know. That's for you to answer. Does the
alcohol that you eat, does it serve you
or does it not serve you? Okay. Think about that for a second. What about the people that you
surround yourself with? Are they pushing you and encouraging you and saying that, you know, do they
have, if you look at them and you're like, yeah, that person a hundred percent has my back and
wants the best for me. Do these people serve me? And am I serving them in the best way possible?
Or are we just still hanging out with each other
because we've been hanging out with each other for years?
Maybe that's the way that some of the relationships are.
You look at some of the relationships
and some of them are great and some of them are not.
And you look at me like,
are we serving each other in this relationship?
And you can either shift the relationship
or you can stop.
You don't have to end the relationship,
but you can stop hanging out with that person as much
for the next 60 days, 90 days. and just see. The cool thing about life is that you can just
make decisions and just try things out for a little while. You can try a shirt out and be
like, yeah, this works. This doesn't work. I like this color. I don't like this color.
And then make decisions from there. So what about the people in your life? Are those people,
if you go through each one of them, are they serving you at the highest level? Are you serving
them at the highest level? Hey, are you looking for a healthier option to help power

What about your significant other?
Your spouse, your boyfriend, your girlfriend,
whatever it is, are they on the same path as you?
Do they support you in every single way?
Do they want the best for you?
Are they growing with you?
Do you support them?
Are you guys serving each other at the highest level?
One of the things that's hardest for people,
and I've worked with a lot of people
who have gone through this,
is when they eventually wake up and realize
that the person that they've been with for years,
it's kind of done.
And it's kind of like the time has come.
And they realize that.
And that's hard.
It's not easy.
I get it.
But it is something that's important to wake up to
for them to be able to have the future that they want
and for you to be able to have the future
that you want as well.
And so if you look at your significant other,
are you guys on the same path?
Are you supporting each other in every single way?
Do you support them?
Do they support you?
Everything.
You got to think about that.
What about your morning routine?
Does your morning routine serve you?
Do you have a morning routine, first off?
If you do, okay, does it serve you at the highest level?
Can it make some changes?
What time you wake up in the morning?
What time you go to bed? What you do with yourself in the morning? Do all
of those things, do they support you? Do they serve you at the highest level? The way that you
take care of yourself or don't take care of yourself? Are you serving yourself at the highest
level with the routine that you have when you wake up in the morning to set yourself up for a day of
success? Do you have a way that you set yourself up for a day of success? Okay, think about it. What serves you?
What doesn't?
And then make adjustments from there.
What about the environment that you live in?
Does your environment serve you?
The place that you live, the area that you live in,
the cleanliness of the space that you surround yourself with?
Does it serve you at the highest level or does it need to make some adjustments?
Maybe you just need to move.
Maybe you just need to change the furniture around and keep cleaner. Maybe you need to make it easier
for you to take action on your goals. Maybe you want to start meditating more and just having a
meditation pillow out would help you. When you look at your environment, how can you design an
environment to help serve you at the highest level? Does my environment serve me? What about
the body that you have
and the way you take care of yourself? If you look down at your body, what do you see?
If you put your head down and you look at your gut, do you see some abs? Do you see extra weight?
Do you struggle with energy? What does it do for you? What do you do for it? Can you serve your
body at a higher level? What does it look like? How do you feel like? Would it be better?
Would you love to have more energy throughout the day? Okay. Well, what adjustments do you need to
make in order to do that? One thing that I did, I eat really healthy. I work out, all of those
things. I went and got a blood test and they did a blood, like this massive blood panel. And I
realized I was just deficient in some vitamins. They gave me some vitamins, like some really high
quality vitamins. I don't know if I've ever had so much energy in my life. And I was just deficient in some vitamins. They gave me some vitamins, like some really high quality vitamins.
I don't know if I've ever had so much energy in my life.
And I was like, holy shit,
I was just missing a couple of vitamins.
I thought it was food.
I thought it was all of these.
I was like, maybe I need more coffee, all of this.
Maybe you just go to a doctor
and see if you're deficient in anything.
So when you're looking at your body,
realizing like, am I getting the optimum amount of energy
out of everything that I do?
Or could it be a
little better? Could I serve my body at a higher level? And could my body serve me at a higher
level as well? What about your workout routine? Do you have a workout routine first off? Do you
need to work out more? Do you need to work out less? Sometimes people are working out too hard.
And you look at your workout routine, you see how you're taking care of your body
on a fitness level,
is that serving you at the highest level possible?
Something to think about.
What do you want to change about it?
Does it serve you?
Does it not serve you anymore?
Do you need to get rid of some things?
What about your mindset?
Do you have a positive mindset?
Is your mindset serving you at the highest level?
Do you have a negative mindset?
Is that mindset serving you at the highest level?
What about your career? Your job, the way you make money?
Is the way you're making money,
is that serving you at the highest level?
Are you working a job that you love?
Are you passionate about what you do?
Do you at least enjoy spending time there?
One of the things that people get as a misconception is they have to love their job.
You don't have to love it,
but do you enjoy existing in the space where
you make money? Do you enjoy existing in the space with the people that are also at the same place
where you're making money? And you look at it and it's like, well, you spend the majority of your
waking hours at a job. So why would you not do something that you actually enjoy? I would rather
enjoy myself than not. And I find a lot of people, they just kind of,
their life is okay, their job is okay. And it's kind of just like slight agitation
throughout their life.
Does your job serve you?
What about the music that you listen to?
Does that serve you at the highest level?
What do you think?
You know, I've gone through and changed
a lot of the music that I listen to
because I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm saying these things.
And I would never actually say these to another person. Like, wow, this is probably music
I should stop listening to then. Right? So think about the music that you listen to. What about
like Netflix? You watching TV, whatever it is that you do. Watching the evening news. Please
don't be doing that. Does watching Netflix serve you at the highest level? Now there's some good
things on Netflix. There's some good things on Netflix.
There's some bad things on Netflix.
There's some great documentaries.
You could learn, you could grow,
you could become a better person.
Does watching it serve you at the highest level?
Or is there something that you could be doing that's better with your time?
Something to think about.
What about your evening routine?
Do you have an evening routine?
Does it serve you at the highest level?
And if you go through each one of these things
and they do serve you,
well, then you should keep them. And you should try to deepen whatever that practice is.
And if it doesn't serve you, you look at it and you say, okay, this is not serving me.
The way that I take care of my body is not serving me. I need to stop doing whatever it is that I'm
doing and the way I'm taking care of my body. Or I guess you could say not taking care of my body.
Right? If it doesn't serve you at the highest level to help you in accomplishing the dream life that you want,
you need to change it and you need to change it fast.
People underestimate how much weight they carry and how much they're held down by things that just don't serve them.
I had a real good friend.
I still have a really good friend.
He didn't die.
But I had a really good friend who called me one time and he was working one business
and he was also helping his parents run their business. And he was putting most of his
time into helping his parents run their business, but he still had this old business. And he's like,
I'm talking to him and I can hear in his voice that the old business is kind of slightly agitating
him, right? And I was like, well, how much time do you spend in the old business? And he's like,
oh, not much, man. Like maybe 5% of my time throughout a week is spent there. And I was like, well, how much time do you spend in the old business? And he's like, oh, not much, man. Like maybe 5% of my time throughout a week is spent there.
And I said, okay, how much mental time is spent there?
And he's like, oh, yeah.
Yeah, I'm constantly worried about it all the time.
He's like, when I'm helping my parents run their business,
I'm constantly thinking about the other one.
So he wasn't putting much time into the old business,
but he was constantly thinking about it. And you can't underestimate how much weight you carry
by doing things that you don't want to do, how much you're held down by doing things that don't
serve you anymore that you don't want to be doing. This is your life. I talked about it last week.
You can design your life, whether you realize it or not. You can design how you want it to look,
what you want it to feel like, how you want every single day to be.
This isn't just something that you were just given
and you just plopped here one day and you're like,
well, this is the life that I have.
No, you designed this life.
You just didn't actually do it intentionally.
So what if you were to actually start
to intentionally design your life?
You can either make it happen or you can let it happen.
It's up to you.
But if I were you,
I would think that you want to make it happen.
You can step up and you can plan it out and you can decide what you want. You can start making
it happen. Will everything happen right away? No. There's going to be some transition times,
but you get a pen and paper and you get intentional and you start making things happen.
That is the way that you change your life. And so you go through every aspect of your life and
you find out, does it serve me for my greater good? Is it me closer to or further from my goals?
And then from there, you start making adjustments and you make adjustments, you make adjustments. And then
one day you realize that you're not doing that shit that you don't want to do anymore.
You actually enjoy what it is that you do. You enjoy the people that you surround yourself with.
You enjoy the way that you take care of yourself. You enjoy the way that you make money.
That is a full opportunity that's in front of every single person. You just have to take some
time, some energy, and some intention to build that life that you want. So that's what I got for you for today's episode. If you love this episode,
