client with a system built so that you can consistently get coaching clients and build
the business that you've been dreaming of. So if you're interested, go to nextclientchallenge.com
right now. Okay, so today we're going to be talking about a beautiful quote that I love
that has to do with something called the imposter syndrome. One of the things that I find
that hold most people back is something called the imposter syndrome. Not just people
who are coaches or not just people who are leaders, but many people that are out there,
period. The imposter syndrome truly, truly holds them back. And I'm going to bring a quote in,
and I love this quote. It's one of my favorite quotes to tell people who I'm coaching that are
coaches and trying to help other people. And it's this, the best teachers are still learning. The best
healers are still healing. Because here's the thing. Most of the time we think that in order
for me to go out and help somebody, in order for me to be the best leader ever, in order for me to
be the best parent that I can possibly be, in order for me to go out and be the best coach that I possibly can
be. I have to be perfect. I'm not ready yet to go out and do that thing. And we all want to help
others. That's the one really interesting thing that I know about humans and working with tens
of thousands of humans is at our core, what makes us feel most alive is doing something for somebody
else, changing somebody else's day, changing somebody else's day, changing
somebody else's life, changing their mindset, changing their body, changing their nutrition,
changing their fitness, whatever it is, changing their relationships. And we live in a world of
degrees and certifications. We're taught that you're not worth it. You don't have as much to
give the world unless you have a degree on the wall or a
certificate saying that you took some class about something. And so most people hold themselves back
from their true potential because they don't have a degree or certification that quote unquote
proves that they are worth it. And here's the thing. We all know people who have degrees falling
off the walls and they're still
failing at life in some sort of way. You know, I would rather be coached by somebody who has been
through some shit in their life, but still been able to build a beautiful life than somebody who's
never experienced anything. They've only gone to school and they got a bunch of degrees and
certification. Why? Because the degrees and certifications are all great. You know, you can
understand what's going on in someone's brain a little bit more, but I want someone who's been
through it. They have a system of how to get out of it, how they got out of it. And they can teach
me how to get out of it and how to build a beautiful life as well. So people are like,
oh, like for instance, like what makes someone qualified as a life coach? Do I need to go get a certification? Life makes somebody qualified
to be a life coach. Going through life, going through things and coming out better and beautiful
on the other end. You know, I've dealt with the imposter syndrome. I almost did not launch this
podcast. I don't know if you know that. I almost didn't launch this podcast because I thought in my head, who the hell am I? Like who the hell would listen to me
when there's people out there like Tony Robbins, when there's people out there like, you know,
Jack Canfield, when there's people out there like, you know, everybody's out there, Zig Ziglar,
Brian Tracy. Why the hell would somebody listen to me? I literally almost didn't launch this
podcast, which is over, you know, I think
35 million downloads at this point because I thought Tony Robbins exists. Who the hell am I?
Imagine if I would have listened to that little voice inside of my head because everybody thinks
this thing when they think, oh, should I be a coach? Should I be a leader? Should I apply for
this job? Whatever it is that they're thinking, they think I'm not qualified.
I still need to work on myself.
That is a limiting belief.
And one of the things that really changed my life
and my perspective on everything,
when I was first starting my business
and becoming a coach,
I saw a video in a guy,
he was sitting in Bali
and he was doing that whole thing
where they're,
hey, I'm on the beach in Bali
and here I have my beautiful villa and I have the life of my dreams and blah, blah, blah. And it was
one of those videos that every freaking influencer seems to make on Instagram, right? But behind that,
he had a really good message. And I remember the message specifically. I don't remember anything
else I've ever learned from this guy, but I remember this message. And he was talking about
the imposter syndrome. And he was talking about, I'm going to bring this up first. Think about the one
thing that you truly want to do. Bring that to the front of your mind. So for me, it was, I wanted to
be a coach for you. It might be something completely different. Maybe you want to be
a mother, but you don't feel like you're ready yet. Maybe you want to be a father. Maybe you
want to get engaged. Maybe you want to, you know, build a better relationship. Maybe you want to be a relationship coach or a fitness coach or wellness coach.
I don't know what it is that you want to do.
Think about that skill that you have in it.
So for instance, for mine, it was personal development.
Like I was obsessed with personal development.
And I thought that I had done pretty good at that point in time from taking myself from
the ashes of different parts of my life and building myself up and
building a beautiful life at that point. And he said, I want you to think about that one skill.
So for me, personal growth, for you, whatever it is, think about that thing for just a second.
And what he said is, I want you to think about on a scale of one to 10, one being you're absolutely
terrible at that thing. 10 being like, you're the best in the world at it. What would you rate
yourself? And so I thought about, I was like, well, you know the best in the world at it. What would you rate yourself? And so I
thought about, I was like, well, you know, I've been in a personal development for like 10 years
at that point. I read hundreds of books, spent hundreds of thousands of dollars into myself.
I was like, man, I would say I'm probably at like a 6.5 or a seven. And so I want to ask you,
what would you rate yourself on a scale of one to 10 in that thing that you're thinking about?
Okay. And what he said is that, you know,
I said 6.5 to seven. He says, most people in the world are at a zero, a one, or maybe even
if they're lucky, a two at that thing that you want to teach. Let that sink in for a second.
Most people are a zero or a one, and maybe they're a two at that thing. So if I'm
reading myself as a seven on personal development, because I think like eight, nine, 10 are like,
that's going to take me the rest of my life to start moving up that high. But most people are
at a zero or a one or two. Most people have never read a personal development book. And so he said,
think about how many, not even millions,
not even hundreds of millions, but billions of lives that you could impact with your message.
And it was like, it clicked for me. I was like, Oh my God, I have a message that could literally change some people's lives. That's how I felt. And from that moment on, I felt obligated to teach. Now,
I know that some people are going to listen to my podcast and they're not going to connect with it
in any sort of way. And that's okay. They don't, not everybody has to connect with it, but some
people are going to listen to it and be like, yes, I've been looking for this my entire life.
So there's some people that are out there that aren't going to connect with your message. That's okay
but there's some people that are out there right now that are
Needing your message and you should feel obligated to teach it to them
Think about how much value you have to give those people
Like if you're into fitness and you want to be a personal trainer, you want to be a fitness coach, let's just say that.
Think about how many people don't know anything about fitness and would love to learn from
you.
Think about how many people, if you want to be in, you know, a dietician, how many people
need to hear your message with how many people are overweight and obese in the world.
your message with how many people are overweight and obese in the world. Think about how many people need to hear your message if you're a relationship or maybe a therapist for people
who are in relationships, a couples therapist. How many people need you to save their marriage?

All right, let's get you back to the show right now.
Because here's what happens. If you're thinking, I don't know enough yet,
you're actually being selfish. If you want to coach somebody or help somebody or be a leader or apply for that higher position so that you can have more people under you and help them, but you're saying, I'm not ready yet, you are being selfish. And one thing that we teach all of the time with all of
my coaching, when we're trying to help people go out and put their message out, is that you're
either on self or on purpose. Now, let me explain what I mean by that. On self means that you're
thinking about yourself. And when you're thinking about yourself.
And when you're thinking about yourself, you're not going to help anybody else in the world.
But when you're on purpose, you are focused. You're not worried about what people think of you.
You're not worried about if people judge you. You're not worried about what people could say
in the comments of your videos. When you're on purpose, you are going, I know what I believe in.
I believe in my message.
Maybe hell, I'm even willing to die for that message because I believe in it so much.
And I'm going to do everything that I can to put this message out there.
Because if I give a diet tip today and one woman listens to it and it helps her save
weight and maybe lower her weight and maybe because of the fact that she hears my message,
it'll spark something inside of her.
She'll lose weight and maybe she'll lose so much weight
that she'll be able to, I don't know,
maybe be at her granddaughter's wedding
when if she didn't hear my message,
it wouldn't have happened and she might have died early
because she was that severely overweight.
I don't know what it is.
But when you start thinking about on purpose,
you're thinking about the people that you want to serve and you don't have to be a coach or be certified or do any of these things to go and
help somebody. I'm talking about literally taking the knowledge in your brain, the passion that you
have, the things that you want to do and bringing it to the world so that people can experience
whatever it is that you have inside of your head. Because all of you listening have years and years
and years of experience in something and people need
to hear your message. So if you're sitting there and you're like, I'm not ready yet, I'm not
qualified. What if people judge me? What if people talk trash about me, about me putting videos out
on the internet? You are being selfish. You're thinking about yourself. And what you need to do
is you need to flip that to on purpose. You know, like if you look at me on the internet,
do is you need to flip that to on purpose. You know, like if you look at me on the internet,
like I have, I have 2.3 million followers on Facebook. I get destroyed sometimes in the comments. I don't give a damn because I'm not worried about the people who want to talk trash.
I'm not worried about the keyboard warriors. I'm worried about the people who are out there
thinking about possibly taking their life or something of that nature, and maybe my message could help them.
The people who are depressed right now, the people who don't love their life, and maybe they hear my
message and it changed their life. Because I get messages every day from people that are like,
Rob, you changed my life by X, Y, Z, and that's why I do it. And so think about this for a second.
How many people are out there in the world that need to hear you?
Not just want to hear you, but they need to hear you.
But you're not putting your message out yet.
You're not helping those people.
You don't have to want to get a million followers or two million followers or, you know, be
the biggest coach or write a book or, you know, put your fitness stuff all over the
internet, whatever it is.
You don't have to be that. You could literally be just a normal person working a normal job,
but you have something inside of your head and that little bit, you go, you know what,
today I'm going to record a video. I'm going to put it up on my LinkedIn and just see if anybody
connects with it. And here's the thing, you will see people have seen it. Maybe nobody comments.
It doesn't mean that you didn't change someone's life. It's not like every single person that listens to this podcast sends me an email and
says, Hey, thanks. This really hit me in some sort of way. I have tens of thousands of people,
hundreds of thousands of people who have listened to this podcast, millions of people who have
listened to this podcast, never sent me an email. It's okay. Because I feel deep down inside that
the message that I'm giving is the message I'm supposed to be giving. And if you're out there and you feel like there's a message or you feel like there's something that
you need to do or get out there, there's some coaching that you want to do or some pivoting
in your life that you want to make, but you're not pivoting and putting your message out there,
at least trying to help people, even though you know that's what you truly should be doing.
And you're worried about being judged or not being ready yet. You are being selfish. Think about the lives that you could
impact. Think about the people who could hear your message and it could just click a switch in their
head and they go, you know what? I am going to stop eating that. I am going to go to the gym.
You know what? I am going to look at my life differently. You know what? I am going to go
home and try to work on my marriage. Whatever it is, because you decided to put yourself out there and be the risky, take the risk, the quote, you can't see
me, but the quote unquote risk of putting yourself out there. You won't die from putting your message
out there. You will never die from judgment. You'll never die from someone else's opinion,
but somebody could die if they don't hear your message. It is that serious.
I've had many people
send me messages saying that they've thought about committing suicide, but listening to the podcast
or watching my videos or XYZ has helped them get out of that depression and they don't want to do
that anymore. Think about if I would have sat in my house and went, yeah, I'm not ready to put the
podcast out yet five years ago. There's something that you have inside of you.
It's a message.
There's something that you have inside of you.
It's something to help other people.
And if you feel the pull,
I understand not every single person out there
that's listening to this is going to feel the pull.
Maybe not yet.
Might happen later.
But if you feel the pull
and you're not taking action on it,
you're focused on yourself.
How can you think about the lives that you're not taking action on it, you're focused on yourself. How can you think
about the lives that you want to impact and step fully into being in that position of,
I'm going to help people no matter what people say, no matter if nobody watches it, I'm going
to put it out and put it out and put it out anyways, because I truly believe that somebody needs to hear it. So think about that.
The best teachers are still learning.
The best healers are still healing.
You will never be perfect.
There is no better time than now.
If you have something inside of you,
go out there and give it to someone else.
