Also, if you are interested in coming to the webinar, the Mindset Mastery webinar, which should be, I believe it's next Tuesday, which is the 9th at 6 p.m. Eastern, go ahead and go to mwfmotivation.com slash webinar to sign up. It is free and I'll be teaching the five steps to master your mind
Starting point is 00:02:35 because if you're gonna get anywhere in life, you've gotta master your mind before you do anything. That is the absolute truth. And last but not least, if you are interested, I've had a few emails of people that are interested in having me come out and do some speaking to their corporate events. Even if you're not in charge of that, don't be shy. I know there's a lot of shy people out there that are afraid to reach out to me. Do not be afraid to reach out to me. I would love to come out and speak at some of your speaking events that you
Starting point is 00:03:02 guys have or your conferences that you have for your company. So if you're interested in having me come out, send me an email, rob at mwfmotivation. Today, what I'm going to be talking about is opportunities. I'm going to give you an example of an opportunity. And well, let me give you an example of what I'm talking about. This is something that I've talked about with some of my coaching clients. And I want to give you an idea of exactly what I mean by this. If you are single and you want to get somebody to be your boyfriend or your girlfriend, you can't sit at your house and expect that they're going to show up at your front door, right? They're not going to just knock at your door and they're going to fall madly in love, right? They're not going to be like some door-to-door salesman or UPS guy or anything
Starting point is 00:03:43 like that. You have to go out into the world to find this person. You have to go hang out at Starbucks. You could go to bars if you want to. That's probably not the best place. You could definitely find people at bars, but you have to go out to Starbucks. You could go to bars if you want to. You could hang out in coffee shops or bookshops or any different type of place. You have to be out there. You have to go out and create opportunities to come in contact with people who could be your potential boyfriend or
Starting point is 00:04:11 girlfriend, correct? That's exactly how opportunities work in the world. And I watch a lot of entrepreneurs and a lot of people out there. And I think that one of their main flaws is that most people feel they have to wait for an opportunity. They have to wait for the perfect time. You don't wait for something to happen. You don't have the perfect opportunity fall into your lap. That will never come. So you can't be sitting around waiting and thinking that something's going to happen. You can't sit around and wait for the rest of your life. You have to get yourself out there and work your butt off and network with as many people as you possibly can. And then opportunities start showing up.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Think about it this way. Let's say that there is a God. Let's say that there's a universe, whatever you believe in. I know there's difference, but God, the universe, whatever it is that's out there, some higher power is going to reward the person that's out there working their butt off in networking and trying to find opportunities, not the person who's sitting on their butt and
Starting point is 00:05:10 thinking that somehow maybe one day they'll come up with an idea. And here's the thing about opportunities. Most of the time it's ideas from conversations or ideas from thoughts that you have with other people or walking around and seeing the world. If you're in the same spot every single day, the same house every single day, you work, you take the same route to work, you see the same people, you're not going to get new ideas and new opportunities coming into your head. You have to go out there and go to places that you've never been before. You have to meet people that you've never met before. You need to have conversations that you've never had before. And it's funny, once you start doing that, ideas and opportunities start to come up. One of my businesses that I run, my Amazon business came because I was at
Starting point is 00:05:55 a networking group and met somebody, two people in one night. Lo and behold, craziest thing, two people in one night that ran Amazon businesses. And I was like, I didn't even know that was a thing. Started talking to them about it, went home, researched. By the craziest thing, two people in one night that ran Amazon businesses. And I was like, I didn't even know that was a thing. Started talking to them about it, went home researched. By the next morning, myself and my business partner were like, that's it. We're going to start an Amazon business, right? That wouldn't have happened if I decided to stay home that night. I had to go out and meet these people in order for the universe to throw them in front of me, in order for God to throw them in front of me, whatever you believe in. So if you sit at your house and just do the same things over and over again, you go to the same job, you take the same route, you do the same thing, you hang out with the same people, you're
Starting point is 00:06:31 not going to get new ideas and therefore you're not going to get new opportunities. Just like if you go and you stay in your house and you take the same route, you go to the same place and work at the same place every single day, you're going to come across the same people. You're not going to come across new people that could be potential boyfriends and girlfriends for you. Opportunities are not discovered. Opportunities are created in your head by doing something new, by doing something different, by putting yourself out there. And I understand that some of you guys, most of you guys statistically are listening to this and you're going, I don't want to do that because I'm an introvert. Hey, guess what? It might sound crazy to you because the fact that I run a podcast
Starting point is 00:07:13 and I'm forced to speak it to a mic and all of these things. And I talk about networking, but I'm not an extrovert. I'm an extroverted introvert. I would rather be by myself most of the time or with a small group of people. But I know that in order to make my life what I need it to be, I will have to push myself out of my boundaries and pass my comfort zone. You will have to do the same thing. So what I want you to get from this episode is that if you're waiting for the perfect moment, if you're waiting for the opportunity to come, you will be waiting the rest of your life. Nothing will change unless you push yourself out of your comfort zone and you start to change. Opportunities are not created. I'm sorry, opportunities are not discovered. Opportunities are created. So remember that and take that with you today. Go out and create your
Starting point is 00:08:03 opportunities instead of just hoping that one day they're going to show up or hoping one day you'll come up with the idea. So with that, if you like this episode, please share with someone that you know. Also, if you're interested in group coaching or one-on-one coaching, or you're interested in having me speak at one of your events, send me an email, rob at mwfmotivation.com.
