So today we're going to be talking about fear. We're going to be talking about fear because
most people let fear stop them from taking the steps that they need to achieve their dreams.
Some people will do anything, anything to avoid fear, successful people. They just feel the fear
like everybody else does, but they don't let it stop them. Like I don't feel fear any less than
I used to. The only difference is I don't care anymore. It's kind of like you just learn to,
it's kind of like you learn to dance with fear. That's what it is. You learn to dance a little
bit. You learn to move with it. It's not that fear just disappears. It's that you learn to dive into it, to dance with it, to become one with
it. Right? And the thing about it is you have all of these fears. And I like to, I like to make fun
of fears because fears don't even really exist nowadays, if I'm being honest with you. I want
you to think about this. What is your number one fear in the world? I'm not talking about like
spiders or heights or anything like that. What is your number one fear in the world? I'm not talking about like spiders or heights or anything like that. What is your number one fear that's holding you back from creating the dream
life that you want to think about that right now? Think about it. What's the answer? Answer it in
your head. Come on, go. You know, what's crazy about that? That most likely if you're like 99.999999%
of people, that fear that you just thought of isn't even real. What do I mean by that? It's a,
it's an intellectual fear, right? The fears that we have now are not fears that are attached to
death. Like we have parts of our brain called that we have a part of our brain called the amygdala,
which is the part of our brain that always creates fears. It's always looking for what's wrong
because that's what kept us alive. That's what kept our species alive. Thousands of years ago was always finding fears and things to, to, you know, a thousand,
20,000 years ago, there might be a lion that would jump out of the bush. Now there's no lines to jump
out of the bush or worried about Sally and accounting judging us too hard for what we're
wearing. Oh my God. What if, what if Sally and accounting happens to see what I'm wearing or
judges me for the way I talk or because of the fact that I said something on my Facebook page, right? Like it's intellectual fears. It's not an
actual primal fear anymore. Old fears are like primal fears. Primal fear means that there is
death that could possibly attach to it. An intellectual fear, you know what I like to call
those? I like to make fun of them. I call them scaries. They're scaries is what they are, right? Oh my goodness.
Oh, my scaries is someone's going to judge me in accounting.
It's my scaries.
Like I like to make fun of it because it's so stupid.
Oh my gosh.
I don't want to put something up on Facebook because somebody might make fun of me.
It's like, it's just, it's so dumb when you actually like take your head,
you take yourself out of your own head and you're like, what?
Am I really fearing this right now? Like I'm, I'm holding back from having the best life that I
possibly can because I'm worried that somebody might judge me. Right? Like I like to make fun
of it because when you make fun of it, you start to realize how ridiculous it is. So I call them
scaries. They're not fears. I don't have a fear of judgment. I have a scary of judgment. I'm so scared that I'm going
to be judged. I'm so scared that I'm going to fail. Oh, boo hoo. Right? Like it's just so stupid
when you think about it. Because most of our fears today are not life-threatening. They're
intellectual feels. They're not primer, prime, primer, primal fears. Right? Because we as humans,
we're only born with two fears. The fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. Everything else is just made up. We learn everything else.
Fears are just false expectations appearing real. You know, fear is not real. The only place that
fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It's a product of information causing us, you
know, it's a product of our imagination causing us to fear
things that are not present and may never even actually ever exist. And the crazy part about
that, that's insanity, right? And it's like the quote says, do not misunderstand me. Danger is
very real, but fear is a choice. We need fear to keep us alive, but you have to realize you have to break down your fears
and realize that most of them they don't mean anything they're all just a bunch of scaries
that's all that they are it's silly it's stupid if you really think about it you're holding yourself
back from the best life you could possibly have because of a bunch of, a bunch of scaries of, Oh man, I'm afraid of failing.
I'm afraid of success. I'm afraid of being judged by Sally and accounting, right? It's, we have,
we all have them and they don't go away. The more successful you become, they don't go away. You
just don't care about them anymore. That's what you have to do. So here's what you have to do.
If you, if you're trying to get rid of fear, I'm going to give you three tips to get rid of your fears. Okay. Number one, you need to change your mindset.
Next time you feel a fear, remember a time when you succeeded, right? Remember a time when you
had a huge sale. Remember a time when you got first place in something. Remember a time when
someone came up to you and said, Hey, that was so good. Great job at that, right? Change your
mindset. How to get rid of a fear. Change your mindset. Number one, think about a time when you succeeded. Think about something that was
really great. Second thing is usually when you have a fear of a goal, it's because your goal is
so big and when they're so big, they paralyze us. So tip number two is to make your goals bite size,
make them smaller. Instead of focusing on your 10 year goal goal Can you break your 10-year goal up into smaller goals and just focus on this quarter or this month or today?
So that you don't get paralyzed, right?
That's all you got to think about
If you want to run a mile don't think about the entire mile
Just think about the three feet that are in front of you and then three feet after that and three feet after that
So that's step number two and then step number three, don't think about the goal.
Think about why you're going for the goal.
Don't think about the goal.
Think about why, what you're going to get out of it, right?
You always have to have a why behind the goal.
Don't think about the fact that you're going to have to go to the gym every single, you
know, week, five times a week for the next six months.
Think about how good you're going to look in that bikini because you've never looked as good in the bikini as you're going to in six
months. Think about the why behind it. That's the key to it because your fears are BS. They're not
real. You've making them up in your head and they're probably never going to actually materialize
in this world. They're just a bunch of scaries. Oh no. That's see, that's when you hear it that way, I want
you to think, Oh my God, it is ridiculous. Damn. It is ridiculous. I need to actually do something
about this. Forget about your fears. They're just a bunch of scaries. They're not real.
What I want you to do is I want you to feel your fear, know that dance with it, but take action anyways. So that's what I got for you
for today's episode. Once again, if you're listening to this on the day it comes out,
there's only two more days left to sign up for the Habit Mastery 30 Challenge. I'm going to be
coaching you every single day for 30 days, holding your hand to success and becoming the person that
you want to be before 2020 starts.
So with that, I'm going to leave you the same way you've ever seen episode. Oh, also in case
you missed it, the website is habits30.com H A B I T S three zero.com. And I'm gonna leave you
