Starting point is 00:03:31 This is part of mastering your mindset is mastering your fears, destroying your fears. And the reason why is because our fears are deeply, deeply rooted in us. And it's something that happened to you maybe when you were a kid. And I don't mean fears like fear of heights, fear of spiders. I mean like the fear that you're not good enough or the fear that you'll never have enough money or the fear that you'll never be loved
Starting point is 00:03:53 or that you'll be alone forever or the fear that you'll never be a good public speaker or you'll never be successful or the fear of failure or the fear of success. All of these are fears. Everybody has them. I have fears. You have fears. You never really get rid of fears. So that's why this is called destroy your fears is because I'm going to teach you how to try to overcome them because they'll probably never
Starting point is 00:04:16 disappear. They'll still be there somewhere in the background. But if your fear is at a level eight of 10, how can we bring it down to a four or three? So instead of a loud scream in your ear, it's just a whisper that pops up every once in a while. It's just a lot easier to push away. How do we do that? Because they're so deeply rooted. If something happened to you as a kid, you might have this fear now. It might've been one time that your parents yelled at you and you automatically clicked over to, oh my gosh, if I keep doing this, I'll never be loved. And then something in your head clicked and it stayed. And you said you had this fear, deeply rooted fear that you might still have from when you're like three or four years old, where your parents yelled at you. And now you
Starting point is 00:04:51 feel like you may never be loved. That happens to everybody. There's some type of fear and that's usually how they start. It's usually before what they, I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it's before five or six years old. It is called the pre-verbal part of your life. Pre-verbal, even though you're talking at five and six, whatever it is. But the pre-verbal time is when you usually get all of your fears ingrained into you. So how do we overcome those fears? How do we conquer those fears that are inside of you? And I did something the other day and I shared this with my group coaching and I wanted
Starting point is 00:05:25 to share it with you as well. I'm not going to go as in-depth because obviously I went much more in-depth with them because they are part of my group coaching. But I do something called incantations. And the other day, I realized that I had never spoken about this. And incantations are affirmations, words I say to myself when no one's around, so they don't think I'm crazy, but in very intense body language. And I spoke a little bit about these in the last episode, but I wanted to talk more about them because I think it's very important for you to understand exactly how these work.
Starting point is 00:06:00 So incantations are pretty much like yelling at yourself super passionately. You use your body, you tighten your muscles, you throw your arm if you need to, like you put everything that you have into it in order to get your fight or flight mechanism just clicked on a little bit. And what that's going to do is whatever you're saying over and over and over and over and over again in your head is going to be stored in your subconscious quicker when you heighten your body. It's going to be stored quicker. So that's the reason why you don't just wake up and say, you know, I am not afraid of my fears. I'm not afraid of my fears. Like it's got to be intense. And so the other day I was driving home and I felt something, I felt a fear creep up in the back of my head.
Starting point is 00:06:46 And I was like, this is not going to happen. I'm not going to allow this to creep up in the back of my head. And what I did was, and our fears are deeply, deeply rooted in us. And what I wanted to do was, I felt the fear creep up. And so in my car, I started doing incantations, loud yelling. And I spoke about this a little bit, but I want to speak more in depth about it. It's loud screaming. And I was screaming to myself when I felt this fear pop into my head. I will not let fear dictate my life. I will not let fear dictate my life. I will not let fear dictate. And I was screaming. So the way I'm saying it now is
Starting point is 00:07:21 not the same. I was screaming it. I said it like 100, 150 times. It was like a 15-minute drive home. And I just kept saying it and kept saying it and kept saying it and kept saying it and kept saying it. And the thing about it is I went so in-depth and was screaming it so much that I went from feeling a fear creep up in my head to by the time I got home, I was on fire. I was so pumped up that I was like, I need to figure out some way to do some work. I need to do something like, because I am so far. It was like 1030 at night and I was so fired up. So that being said with you, let's destroy your fears. What are your deep rooted fears? That's what you need to think about. What is the story that you've
Starting point is 00:08:02 been telling yourself for so long? And you need to figure out what it is. Maybe it's the fact that your parents didn't have money growing up. And so your parents always thought that... They always said that there was never enough money. And in your head, you might have popped up in your head at some point in time where you're like, money is hard to come by. Money is the root of evil. Something like that. Money is hard to come by is an easy one. So it's like money is hard to come by. Money is the root of evil, something like that. Money is hard to come by is an easy one. So it's like money is hard to come by. You can scream incantations to yourself of like, instead of saying money is hard to come by, how about money? I will make tons of money in my lifetime. I will make tons of money. I will make $10,000 in the next two months. I will make $10,000 next month, whatever it is. So what you want to do is figure out what your fears are,
Starting point is 00:08:46 whatever these deep-rooted fears are. Is it that you're not enough? Is it that you're not pretty enough? Or that you're not smart enough? Or that you'll never be loved? Or that success is hard to come by, that you'll never be successful? Or this is the fear of failure?
Starting point is 00:09:00 Or is it the fear of talking to the opposite sex? Or is it the fear of talking to anybody opposite sex or is it the fear of talking to anybody period you know so these fears are in your head so what you want to do is take a pen and paper and write them down figure out exactly what your fears are and then figure out what incantations you can use to overcome those fears and you can use your physiology to your advantage you can use your physiology and scream it to yourself. If you live by yourself or if you have like a significant other that leaves early and you're alone at the house, go crazy. Like just yell it to yourself.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Do whatever you can. Most people that I know do it in their car because you could do it in your car because you're usually alone. And just scream it to yourself, whatever it is. And if you do this over and over and over again, thousands and thousands and thousands of times. So maybe do it a couple hundred times a day on your ride to work, on your ride back from work. Maybe you listen to a 10 minute MWF episode and then on the way and the rest of the rides are
Starting point is 00:09:54 just like, you know what? I'm going to scream incantations to myself. And after a while, what you'll notice is that these fears go from like a level eight, like a loud scream in your ear to like a level two or three. And when it starts to creep back up, instead of getting that feeling of nervousness in your gut where you're like, oh crap, I don't know if I could do this. And you feel that, the butterflies in your stomach, you'll start to feel, you will so condition yourself over this time that what you will do instead of feeling those butterflies, you're going to start feeling empowered after a while whenever you feel these fears creep up because you have conditioned your body to instead of feeling fear that when this feeling starts to creep up a little bit,
Starting point is 00:10:36 your body's so used to being just straight up, just going like hardcore into incantations and empowering yourself that you will get fired up when you start to feel a fear creep up on you. So that's what I have for you today. Figure out what your fears are and figure out what incantations you can use to destroy these.
