So if you think other people would get value from this, please do me a favor, give us a rating review. So therefore, our platforms can go ahead and push it out to more people who have never heard of us. Today, I'm going to talk about how to take back
Starting point is 00:00:41 control of your life and how to change your life fast. And what's interesting about it is it doesn't take very long. People are always so surprised how quickly they can change their life. And no matter where your life is at right now, whether your life is amazing, whether your life is pretty good, or whether your life is just complete shit, this will help you out. And I'm going to tell you something that I've done quite a few times. And I recommend that a lot of people do at some point in time in their life, whether it be they want to change their life drastically in a very short period of time, whether they have a brand new business and they're trying to grow that business, whatever it might be. If you're
Starting point is 00:01:21 trying, like if you're overweight and you're trying to get in shape or whether you're in shape and you're trying to get into amazing shape, the tip that I have for you is this, disappear. Just be gone. Tell everybody that you love and everyone that you normally hang out with that you can hang out with them for the next 90 days. Now, I'm not saying if you have children and your children, your wife live with you, that you're just not going to see them for the next 90 days. What I mean is people outside of your closest circle. Friends, tell them that you're going to take 90 days to work on yourself. If someone's a true friend, they should understand that. But what I mean by that is disappear and have yourself be the number one thing that you work on. Because all too often, we spread ourselves too thin where we have, you know, family, we have the
Starting point is 00:02:05 children, we have the spouse, we have the brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, all of them. We have work, we have our fitness, we have so many places that we're spread. We have our social life, our hobbies, all of those things were spread really, really thin. And at some time, you have to go completely out of balance for a little while so that therefore the next time you come back in balance, you have leveled up yourself, you've leveled up your life, you've leveled up certain aspects of yourself so that therefore you can be a different person. So you're not spreading yourself super thin anymore. You're getting very narrow and very direct at the things that you're working on. And that tip that I'm going to give you is to disappear. And we're going to go over
Starting point is 00:02:43 six different steps, things that you should work on during this time. Some of them are obvious, some of them are not obvious, but this is just basically a full reset or a complete level up, no matter what part of your life that you're at right now or where you're trying to go to. So these are the six things when I feel like I need to level up, I do this all the time. I spent, it wasn't even three months last year. It was probably about nine months last year where I literally focused on this. And the reason why was because my business was at this really massive growth point. And I told a lot of friends that I normally hang out with, like, Hey man, I'm going to disappear for a while. Like, I love you. I want to hang out with you. I want to see
Starting point is 00:03:23 you. But just please respect the fact that we're at a point right now, this massive inflection point, and I want to really capitalize on it. And so I did this for about nine months last year. And through that, our business grew 150% from one year to another year. And so these are the six things that I focus on. You can steal these from me, or five things I focus on, and then a bonus one on top of that, that you can figure out for yourself. You can steal these from me or five things I focused on. And then a bonus one on top of that, that you can figure out for yourself. You can steal this from me if you want to, no matter what point you are at your life, try it out, give yourself 90 days, three months, and just see what ends up happening for you. Okay. The first thing that I work on and I would recommend to work on is meditation every single day. So this is for you to decide what that would
Starting point is 00:04:03 look like for you. You know, it can be 10 minutes per day. That's okay. Because what I found is like, is that meditation is like lifting weights. If you've never been to the gym before, going and lifting weights is pretty hard and it hurts. You wake up and you can't move your arms sometimes, right? So it's like, if you've never meditated before, it's the same as if you haven't been to the gym in 10 years, there's going to be a little bit of a struggle period. And you might start off at just 10 minutes, you know, like 10 minutes a day, once a day in the morning is what I'm going to do. But the more that you show up to the gym, the more consistent you are to the gym, the quicker that you become stronger, the quicker that you are able to lift heavier.
Starting point is 00:04:41 the quicker that you become stronger, the quicker that you are able to lift heavier. And it's the exact same way for meditation where 10 minutes today might be a massive struggle for you, but 10 minutes in 25 days, 10 minutes in 60 days might be a breeze. And what happens is you start to lift heavier. You go from 10 minutes to 15 minutes, to 20 minutes, to 30 minutes, sometimes even more, right?
Starting point is 00:05:03 And so there was a while, a long time for me where I was meditating an hour a day every single day and people were like, how is that possible? Well, one of the ways that I got there was that I was preparing for a 10-day silent meditation retreat. So like I knew I was going to be meditating for multiple hours, you know, pretty much the entire day besides the two meals that we ate for 10 days straight. And so I was trying to prepare myself. And I noticed that I went from 10 minutes to 15 minutes to 20 minutes to 30 minutes to 40 minutes, 45 minutes to 60 minutes. And 60 minutes was really hard at the beginning. And then it got
Starting point is 00:05:34 easier and easier and easier. And so when I say meditate, I don't mean that you have to spend your entire day. I don't mean you have to start off at 30 minutes if you've never done it before, but just say, you know what? I'm going to make meditation a focus of mine. I'm going to do 10 minutes a day. No matter what, it's going to happen. If I get hit by a truck today, I'm still meditating today. Why? Because that's working on your peace, your spirituality.
Starting point is 00:05:55 It's working on, you know, you and who you are as a person before you go out into the world. Okay? That's the first thing that I work on is your meditation. The second thing that I would do, yes, every day is work out or get some form of movement. If you've been listening to my podcast on, if you know that I push working out pretty often, movement pretty often, you have to realize you have this amazing machine, this amazing system, this body that you were born with. And we have put our bodies through so much stuff over the years. If you think about all of the things that you've had, you've put your body, like I can think about all of the
Starting point is 00:06:28 stuff that I put my body through, all of the crappy food that I knew I shouldn't have been eating, that I was eating anyways, just because it tasted good. All of the alcohol that I drank in high school and college and after college and all of the drugs that I've done, I put my body through some stuff. And the fact that my body's still working after all of the drugs that I've done, I put my body through some stuff. And the fact that my body's still working after all of that shows that it is an amazing machine and I should actually respect it and want to take care of it because it has respected and taken care of me for 36 years now when I didn't always treat it the best. It was made to move. If you're not finding some form of movement every single day, then you're actually slowing your body down. And so your body was made to move. All of our ancestors, their bodies were made to move.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And so, you know, even if you're extremely overweight right now, move, do something, go for a walk, do some air squats, do one or two pushups, get a couple of weights that just weigh a few pounds or just, you know, get a gallon of water and move those things around. Whatever it is you need to do to get your body to move more often. You know, I have found with myself that I spend so much time sitting throughout the day. Like I'm in front of my computer pretty much all day long, right? But I have to have breaks in between where it's like my body has to move. I have to move for five minutes, for 10 minutes. I have to do some stretching. I have to do some movements outside. I have to get some sun on my skin, all of that stuff. Find some sort of way that you do 30 to 45 minutes at least of dedicated working out slash movement practice. So you can work out for four or
Starting point is 00:07:55 five days a week if you want to. And then on your rest days, go for a walk, do something, do some jumping back, whatever it is that you want to do. I don't really care what it is, but it's about getting into the feeling of actually moving your body more often. A lot of people say they don't have any energy, but that's actually BS. It's that you have literally been lowering your energy for years and years and years. Your body responds when you push it. And you will notice that the more that you push your body and push your body and push
Starting point is 00:08:21 your body through workouts and through movement, you will naturally have more energy throughout the day. And so one of the practices that you need to have over these 90 days is literally just working out some form of movement over the course of those 90 days. Okay. Starting point is 00:09:50 conditions apply. If you need to hire, then you need Indeed. Next one is to stick to a diet. I don't care what your diet is. Just figure out what it is. Figure out what works for you, what intuitively feels right. For some of you, you might be like, you know what? I want to try out vegan. For some of you, you might be like, you know what? I want to try out this carnivore diet I've heard about. So some of you might be like, you know what? I want to do both. I want to be an omnivore. Some of you might be like, I want to try keto. Some of you might want to try whatever the hell else is out there. All of these different, the whole 30, there's million, billion different things that you could do. Find the one that feels right to you and go for it. I'm not here to preach
Starting point is 00:10:25 one over the other. Every single person's body is different. So I would say find this diet that feels like it works for you and stick to it hardcore for those 90 days. Have less sugar. And one thing that I would recommend is this. I would recommend every Saturday evening having a cheat meal. It makes it so much easier to continue a diet if you can have a cheat meal. And also at the same time, when you throw your body out of whack with a cheat meal, it usually ends up responding and throwing itself back easier and quicker on Sunday after you have it. So like for me, my cheat meals used to be like literally a pizza, an entire pizza by itself and ice cream. Like when I was in my hardest core working out,
Starting point is 00:11:06 I would get an entire pizza. I would crush the pizza. I would have a massive ice cream. And then my body would like go into a coma. Like it was like I had to take a two or three hour nap right after every single Sunday, every single Saturday when I did this. And so the reason why is because it's kind of like you allow yourself to cheat a little bit and then you feel like you have to earn the cheating throughout the rest of the week. And when you have a big enough cheat meal, you don't want to cheat the rest of the week. You're like, I'm good. Like I know that cheat meal is coming. I'll be good when that happens, but you know, it's coming. So stick to some form of a diet, right? So if you look at this, we have so far the first three, meditation, workout,
Starting point is 00:11:42 stick to a diet. All of those are body, brain, body, all of that stuff. Why? Because so many people don't pay attention. And the next one's going to be body as well. They don't pay attention to their body. They pay attention to what they're doing, their work, all of that stuff with the reading, all of those things. But they don't pay attention to the fact that literally you cannot get as much done when
Starting point is 00:12:02 you're not taking care of your body. It's just, it's harder to get more things done. Which brings us to number four, which is completely remove alcohol. Gone for three months. I promise you, you're not going to die. You can do it. It won't be as hard as you think that it will be. If you go and you go to a family event, this might be the first time you've never drank at a family event. Well, what's the reason for that? You can do it. For most people, it's a crutch most of the time. It's a crutch for them to be more social, but a lot of times it's really a numbing or a disconnecting for them. So a lot of people drink at family events. Why? Because there's a lot of trauma and a lot of triggers
Starting point is 00:12:40 that happen from family. And so when you go to a family event, it's just easier to have a couple of beers, have a couple of glasses of wine and maybe a mixed drink. And you're like, all right, cool. I feel great. And then you just don't even think about the trauma. You don't think about the triggers and you're just like, oh, whatever. That's just how, you know, mom is, whatever it might be for you guys. But it's, it's a form of numbing or disconnecting. What you'll notice is you'll notice your triggers coming up. You'll notice your emotions coming up that maybe you've been holding back for a really long time, which will help you when we go into number five, exactly how to use that. But alcohol also slows you down massively. It slows down your brain. It slows down your body. And if you're trying to do a complete reset, you know, if you're, if you're at the point
Starting point is 00:13:18 where you're like, you know what, I have a brand new business. I need to lock it down. I need to grow this damn business really hardcore. Well, having alcohol in your system, because alcohol stays in your system up to 80 hours, 80 hours, that's over three days. That means that you're trying to grow your business and you're also slowing it down every single time that you drink. So imagine if you're like, you know what, I'm going to work on my brain, my body, everything, full reset for myself. I'm going to go into just, you know, disappearing act. Well, then I'm going to make sure I'm not going to be drinking alcohol so that my brain and my body can be working the best that they possibly can be, right? So just do it for 90 days. You'll be amazed at how you feel. Also, when you do decide to start drinking after those 90
Starting point is 00:13:58 days, you'll be the cheapest date ever. It's like one drink makes you feel tipsy. So just remove alcohol from your life for 90 days. See what happens. I promise you it'll be worth it. Next one, which is a super important one, which might be one you guys might not have thought of, is to journal every single day. What do I mean by journal?
Starting point is 00:14:17 I mean, put your thoughts and your feelings down on paper every single day. I don't mean sit down and say, dear diary, today I went to the market and I bought some watermelons and all of, I don't want sit down and say, dear diary, today I went to the market and I bought some watermelons and all of, I don't want you to write down, you know, what you did all day long. I want you to write down your thoughts from today. I want you to write down how you felt today. You know what? I was really freaking stressed out when this person at work said this to me. And then you become curious is what you do. You start asking yourself questions around that.
Starting point is 00:14:44 and then you become curious is what you do. You start asking yourself questions around that. Okay. Why did I get so furious and so triggered when she said that to me? You know, my, my husband came in and said this to me and immediately I got triggered. Why did I become triggered? I became triggered, not because of that event, but because of something that happened in the past. And I'm bringing the past into the, the, the present moment when we've already gotten past quote unquote, gotten past that thing and worked through that thing in our lives. And you start realizing, damn, I'm not over the thing that I thought it was over. And what happens is when you start to journal and you're working on yourself, if we're going to make sure that we come out of these three months a better person, well, we need to find
Starting point is 00:15:18 the things we need to let go of before the three months are over. So you sit down and you become curious. What am I thinking? What have I been thinking throughout the course of the day? Why am I thinking that? And you literally ask yourself these questions and you start writing down the answers to them. And you start to become more curious and more curious and more curious and ask yourself more questions around them. What am I feeling? How did I feel today? I felt really stressed out today. Why did I feel stressed out today? I felt stressed out because, oh shit, you know what? I drank way more coffee today than I should have.
Starting point is 00:15:50 That's probably why I was so stressed out. I had so much caffeine running through my body that it was just stressing me out. That might be a piece of it. Okay, maybe I should have less coffee. And so what happens when you journal is it gives you a chance to kind of reassess every single day, how you're thinking, how you're feeling. So it's like, what am I feeling? Why am I feeling that? Sometimes you end up finding out, not even sometimes, lots of times, you end up finding out that the way you're reacting to your spouse has nothing to do with your spouse. It actually has something to do with your parents that you haven't let go of. And so you're like, oh shit, I didn't even know I was holding onto this anymore. And so if we're going to come out a better person, completely disappear, go off the mat for 90 days,
Starting point is 00:16:29 we need to figure out how we want to show up after. And there's all of these little thoughts and feelings and ways that we talk to ourself that are going to be needing to be released before we go into that. And so that's number five is to journal. Number six is to decide your non-negotiables, right? So I'm not going to tell you exactly what I think you should do because your life is different than mine. Your focus in life is different than mine. Maybe you're really focused on your children right now. Maybe you're really focused on your business right now.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Maybe you're really focused on your fitness right now. Everybody's is different, but what is your, or what are your non-negotiables? The things that you have to do every single day. For some of you, it might be like, you know what? I'm not grateful for how amazing my life is. I need to wake up every single morning and I need to sit and journal and think about and have so much gratitude towards all of the amazing things. So I'm going to do normal journaling, like Rob just said, but I'm also going to be journaling on what am I grateful for? Grateful for this and this and this, and this is why I'm grateful for it. Maybe for you, prayer is a part
Starting point is 00:17:28 of it, you know, and you're like, you're religious and you're like, prayer is a piece of it. Okay, well, prayer is perfect. Go ahead and go for prayer. Maybe, you know, you're at the point where you're reaching out to a ton of people to grow your business and you need to do, you know, some outreach, some cold calls, some door knocking, whatever it might be. And then it's like, maybe you're non-negotiable as you're going to knock on 30 doors today and try to sell your business to other businesses, your product to other businesses, right? So you've got to figure out what those non-negotiables are. Maybe for those of you guys that are working on your family, maybe like a non-negotiable is I'm going to turn off my phone every single day at 6 p.m. You'd be completely
Starting point is 00:18:01 shut off and I'm going to put 100% energy into my family. That is a non-negotiable. And so what it comes down to is being very, very, um, in very, like first off intuitive of what you really want, but also intentional about what you're doing every single day. And if you do this for 90 days, you'll notice when you disappear and you stop doing the things that don't need to be done and you just go, you know what? I'm going to go hardcore focus on me. You will come out of this. It's like, you know, the caterpillar going into a cocoon and coming out the butterfly. You might be a chubby little cute caterpillar right now and you need to go into your cocoon and this is your cocoon for the next 90 days. But the point of it is to work on yourself so much
Starting point is 00:18:43 that by the time you get out of that, you're a beautiful butterfly. You're on a different level of life. And it only took you 90 days of hardcore focus on yourself. So that's how you take back control of your life and change your life very fast. If you love this episode, please do me a favor. Please share it on your Instagram and tag me in it.
