If you have not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so that you never miss another episode. And if you have not yet downloaded my free mini course on how to journal, go to dialedinjournal.com. Once again, dialedinjournal.com and get it for free. In this mini course, I teach you the exact strategy that I've learned and kind of cultivated
Starting point is 00:01:01 over the past 12 years. I've learned it from successful people. I've learned it from doing it on my own and figure out new ways of how to journal every single morning to become self-aware and to really work on myself and my personal development. Because if you walk into a car dealership and, you know, a mechanic to fix your car and he goes, okay, you know, I'm going to fix this. Well, he has to look at your car first before he decides what he's going to fix. If you walk into a car dealership okay, you know, I'm going to fix this. Well, he has to look at your car first before he decides what he's going to fix. If you walk into a car dealership and, you know, you go to the mechanic's side and he says,
Starting point is 00:01:31 I'm just going to fix this part of the car. You're like, well, wait, you haven't even looked at my car yet. You'd be a little bit concerned if he had not even looked at your car. Well, that's because he needs to figure out what's wrong and diagnose what's wrong in order to fix it. Same with the doctor. It's the exact same thing with yourself and your personal development. You need to work on yourself and journal through what you like about yourself, what you want to change, so you can become more self-aware and then self-diagnose the things that you want to change,
Starting point is 00:01:59 the things that you want to get better. And that happens through journaling. So if you want to learn how to journal, go to dialedinjournal.com. Get it absolutely free. There's no catch. There's no upsells. There's nothing else. You just put in your information and you're good to go and to get it. So if you're interested in it, go ahead and get it there. Okay. Today, what I'm going to be talking about is dying. Ooh, we're going to dive into it. And we're going to talk about death. Ooh, we're going to dive into it. And we're going to talk about death. And the reason why is this. You fear death because all you know is life. The knowledge that I am going to die, personally,
Starting point is 00:02:40 me speaking about myself, brings the focus that I need to being alive. The urgency, the passion, the purpose to my life. If we were to live forever, why would you even get out of bed in the morning? Because you always have tomorrow. And so here's what I want you to think about. A lot of people fear death. Don't fear death. Fear living a life that is unlived. Fear living a life that is unfulfilled. Fear being a waste of space and oxygen. Don't let the fear of death hold you back. Let the actual feeling of death push you forward and bring urgency to do what needs to be done in your life. Think about this. And I love to think about this. I've told you before, if you've listened to my podcast, I'm very aware that death is approaching at some point in time. The only thing that we can absolutely 100% guarantee in our lives from the second you're
Starting point is 00:03:28 born is that you are going to die one day, right? And some of you right now, you're listening to me and you're like, Ooh, this is uncomfortable. I'm getting this pit feeling in my, the feeling in the pit of my stomach. That's just, it's driving me crazy listening to this because I'm so afraid of death. Don't fear dying because it's going to happen no matter what. Fear living a life unlived, fear living an unfulfilled life, a waste of space, a waste of potential. Fear that because that's the only thing that you're actually in control of. You're not in control of death. That's coming no matter what, what you're in control of is how great your life actually is. Make the fear of death push you. Make it make you work harder. Make it make you love harder. Make it make you appreciate your life more. This perfectly reminds me, whenever I talk about this,
Starting point is 00:04:17 of a movie, Troy, if you've ever seen Troy with Brad Pitt, he says a quote that I absolutely 100% love. And he said, the gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal. Because at any moment, it may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again. And so you have to think about it that way. You have to think about the fact that what makes our lives so amazing is the fact that eventually it's going to die. And that should, eventually you're going to die. That should, the anticipation of death should be a motivation for you, right? Because most people, I talk to them and they're
Starting point is 00:05:04 like, I just, I don't want to, I don't want to live the rest of my life being unfulfilled potential. I don't want to live the rest of my life feeling like I'm just a waste of space. If you want some motivation for working harder or loving harder or appreciating more or any of those things, if you want, if you want more gratitude and you want to be motivated just in life to be better, work harder, or just appreciate more, go to a hospice. When was the last time you've ever been to a hospice? When was the last time you were in one? See, because if you don't get motivated to get your butt in gear, to push yourself harder and to have more appreciation,
Starting point is 00:05:44 if you can't do that, go in there and watch people who are on their deathbeds and realize that they're not leaving. They're alive, right? That will give you motivation of, holy crap, this is real. Most of the time we try to pretend that's not happening. Most of the time we try to pretend like we get a second at bat. You don't get a second at bat. I'm here to tell you that. And I've told you before, my father passed away when I was 15. That was the very first thing where I was like, holy crap, this is going to end. And I need to get every single bit of potential out of myself in that time. Right? Don't wait for someone else to die. That's the way it always works. We have someone that we know die or something, someone becomes terminally ill or something
Starting point is 00:06:23 happens or they get cancer or they go in a near death experience or whatever it might be. And then we're like, holy crap, I should get my butt in gear. I should do something. They're not here anymore. I am. And it sticks with you for like a week or two. You should have that feeling every freaking day.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Don't be scared of death. Realize it is coming. There's nothing you can do about it. Don't be scared of death. Realize it is coming. There's nothing you can do about it. But make it use, I mean, you can actually use it to make you get the most out of this life and the most out of every single moment. So don't fear death.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Fear a life unlived. The gods envy us because we're mortal. Because at any moment, it could be our last. And because of the fact that we're doomed, everything is more beautiful. So if you liked this episode, do me a favor, please share it with a friend.
