All right, I'll get you the podcast right now. Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast, one of the top-rated motivational podcasts in the world.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I come out with a short, to-the-point, no-BS podcast designed to transform you from who you are today into who you want to be. There's no fluff here, just life-changing content. My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now. Welcome to today's episode. If you have not yet done so, please subscribe to us, however you listen to us. Also, your interesting fact for the day is if someone ever tells you they'll be there in a jiffy, a jiffy is an actual time measurement that equals one one hundredth of a second. So being there in a jiffy actually means one one hundredth of a second. It's an actual measurement of time. So diving in though,
Starting point is 00:01:26 if you are someone who you feel like you need change, you feel like you lack motivation, you feel like you need help with positivity, you need accountability, you need something to get your life going in the direction that you want, or you need a group of people to help motivate and inspire you and take you to the next level, and you need lessons, group and video lessons, to actually help you go and get to where you need to be, then my group coaching program might be what you need at this point in time. And the only way to figure that out is to actually have a conversation. And for the next couple days, it is going to end on Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:02:04 If you're listening to this, this episode comes out on Monday. It ends on Wednesday, which will be the over 25% off of my group coaching. So if you are someone who's listening to this and you think you might be interested in group coaching, schedule some time and we can have a conversation about it.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Go to mwfmotivation.com slash schedule and book some time so we can have a quick conversation about it. But don't take my word for it on the fact that I think it's good because clearly I'm going to be biased, but take the word from someone who's already part of the group right here. Hey everyone, my name is Ryan Groney and I have a part of the group coaching. Rob and the group has showed me the biggest challenge in my whole life is myself. They have showed me what others do to get past it and how to succeed when yourself is the biggest enemy.
Starting point is 00:02:56 If you have been looking to take the next step up in your life, join the group coaching and watch your life take the next step up. Is being a perfectionist ruining your life? Let me give you an example of what I mean. Do you delay things because they're not perfect yet? Have you not started because you're still waiting for the perfect time? Have you ever started something but then not finished it because it's not perfect? It's not what you wanted it to be. Are you someone who wanted to
Starting point is 00:03:31 start a blog or you wanted to start a YouTube station or you wanted to start a podcast or you wanted to start any of these things but you haven't started because it's just not perfect yet? It's not the perfect time or the content you've been making isn't perfect. Or are you an artist or a musician or any of these things that it's just not, it's not perfect yet. You want to work harder. You want to make sure the stuff that you're putting out is perfect, right? I want to share a phrase with you that will help you out. Done is better than perfect. Getting something done is better than making sure that it's 100% perfect. They did a study not too long ago and found out that when someone thinks they're done,
Starting point is 00:04:14 they're about 95% of the way done. When someone thinks that they've done a perfect job, they've done about 98%. So the difference between done and the difference between perfect is usually only about 3%. But sometimes that extra 3% can hold somebody back from following their dream. It can hold somebody back from actually starting what they want to start. And so you have to ask yourself, is perfectionism ruining your life? Is it getting in the way of your true potential? Another question to ask yourself is this, are you really a perfectionist or is that just a fear that's being masked by perfectionism? I'll give you an example of what I mean. You might have the fear of failure or the
Starting point is 00:05:05 fear of success or the fear of rejection or the fear of being judged, not being good enough or smart enough or pretty enough or fit enough for one of those things. But you're telling yourself you're a perfectionist. So therefore you don't start in order to actually not come in contact with the real fear that's happening. And so you have to ask yourself that question. Number one, am I actually a perfectionist? Number two, am I a perfectionist? Or is it just a fear that's being masked as perfectionism?
Starting point is 00:05:42 Because in reality, perfectionism doesn't really exist. We're all perfectionists. reality, perfectionism doesn't really exist. We're all perfectionists. But what really is happening is perfectionism is just you holding yourself to a standard that you might not be at yet. And if you don't push yourself to at least finish stuff, you'll never actually get to the standard that you want to be at. We all have really high standards for ourselves. We all want to shoot for the moon and have really great things that we accomplish, whether that be a blog or a website or a song or a piece of art. But unless we actually get out there and do something, we'll never get anywhere near it. And so the phrase that I want you to remember for today is done is better than perfect.
Starting point is 00:06:29 for today is done is better than perfect. Well, that's it for today's podcast. If you want the show notes for this episode, they can be found at mwfmotivation.com.
