And I will tell you this, within the next couple weeks, I have some very, very exciting news for you on a group coaching that I'm putting together for some people that are interested. I'm not going to tell you any more than that, but I'm actually putting a group coaching that I'm putting together for some people that are interested. I'm not going to
Starting point is 00:01:26 tell you any more than that, but I'm actually putting a group together of people who can network and mastermind. And that information will be out within the next couple of weeks. I'll give you a little teaser there. Also, if this audio is a little bit lower quality than normal, I'll apologize. I'm actually traveling. I had a family emergency and I'm recording this from Florida on my MacBook Pro right now, so I couldn't bring my mic with me. But today what I'm going to talk about is how to build confidence and one simple step for building confidence in yourself. And I had a great question asked me on Facebook Live a couple weeks ago. If you haven't joined any of our Facebook Lives, you can actually see them. They're still able to be viewed on the Facebook
Starting point is 00:02:10 page, the MWF Motivation Facebook page. And the question was, how do you continue to build your confidence and continue to keep going and continue towards your goals when you keep failing? And I thought that was an amazing question that I wanted to cover with you guys. And you have to realize that most of the time, your goal, if you're anything like me or like most people who are listening to this podcast, your goal is kind of like the horizon. The closer you get to it, the further it actually gets from you. And what I mean by that is you might get close to a goal, but then decide that you want to push your goal even further because you're the type of person who wants to continue to build your mindset, to continue to grow, to continue to get
Starting point is 00:02:49 better. And so the goal is kind of like the horizon. And like I said, if you're like me or most people, you won't ever really, I guess, fully achieve all of your goals because you're going to keep pushing yourself. And that's not a bad thing. It's not a good thing. It's just naturally the way that it is. So what do you do when you fail on the way to your goals? Well, one of them and one of the most profound things that I was ever told by a mentor one time was that, and it really helped me on my way of personal development, my journey of personal development, is I'm the type of person that's never satisfied and I'm constantly wanting to get better and constantly wanting to get better. And so naturally with that, I fail a lot.
Starting point is 00:03:33 And I mean, I fail a lot. Don't think because I run a podcast that I don't have any failures. I fail a ton. But at this point, I failed so much that it doesn't really stop me anymore. It doesn't get in my way. Failure is just kind of something that's there. And it's like a friend I talk to every single day. I come in contact with failure pretty much every single day.
Starting point is 00:03:54 And one of the things that helped me the most and that my mentor really helped me with was looking at myself and when I fail, instead of comparing myself right now to where I want to be and looking forward at the people who already have what I have, or they might have the life that I want, or the success that I want, or the car that I want, or house, or whatever it might be, just the life in general, the freedom that I want. Instead of looking at myself now and going, man, I am so far from that goal. And when I fail, if I were to look ahead and try to do that, I would actually lower my confidence every single time. And instead of doing that, what I do is when I fail, I look backwards and realize how far
Starting point is 00:04:37 I've actually gone since trying to accomplish my goal, how far I've actually gone in the things I've overcome in my life in order to get to where I am. So if I was looking ahead and going, man, I'm still so far from my goal of getting there, it's going to lower my confidence. So what I do to build my confidence, especially in failure, is to stop looking forward so much and every once in a while, look back and go, man, I actually have overcome that. Think about all of the sales that we've had here. Think about how many people are now listening to the podcast. Think about all of these.
Starting point is 00:05:10 And they could be anything. Some people might go, well, I really haven't overcome all that much in my life. Well, it can be very, very small as well. So you have to look back and think about how far you've come versus how far you still have to go. Because success is not a finish line. It's more than anything else. It's more like a horizon. It's going to keep going and keep going the closer you get to it. You're going to keep pushing yourself to go further and further. So it's never a finish line. So if you're going and you're just going to keep pushing yourself over and over again, you're never going to really build confidence in yourself. You have
Starting point is 00:05:42 to build confidence by looking back and getting evidence of how you have overcome and how you have succeeded in the past. And see what this does, it helps grow your confidence rather than bring you down when you fail. Because here's the deal, we're all going to fail. You're going to fail. You're probably going to fail today. You're probably going to fail tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:06:03 You're going to fail and you're probably going to fail today. You're probably going to fail tomorrow. You're going to fail and you're really going to screw stuff up. But when we fail, what normally happens? We start to lose our confidence. We start to think that we can't get to our goals. So whenever you have any type of failure, instead of looking at how far you still have to go, look at how far you have come. So the best tip that I can give you to build your confidence, especially in the times of failure, is to look back and think of your successes.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Think about the times when you've succeeded. Think about the times when you've failed, gotten back up, and then accomplished your goal. Don't think about the times that you've failed and then gave up. That's not going to do anything for you. Think about the times you've failed, that you've gotten back up, and that you have succeeded. And I understand, like I said, some of you might not have accomplished a ton. You might not have a whole lot of failures that you've overcome or a whole lot of successes that you have succeeded. And I understand, like I said, some of you might not have accomplished a ton. You might not have a whole lot of failures that you've overcome or a whole lot of successes that you have. It doesn't matter. Start small and start to build your
Starting point is 00:06:53 confidence in that sense because you have to realize this. What is lowering your confidence going to do for you? What is thinking about the stuff you haven't accomplished going to do for you? What is thinking about the things that you haven't done or the life you don't have or the life that you do want but think you might never get? What is that going to do for you? What is thinking about the things that you haven't done or the life you don't have or the life that you do want but think you might never get? What is that going to do for you? It's going to do absolutely nothing. So what can you do today to build your confidence, even the little tiny small things that you do? That's what I want you to think about and that's what I want to challenge you with more than anything else. In the next episode, I'll give you a little teaser. We're going to be diving a little bit more into confidence, but we're
Starting point is 00:07:24 actually going to talk about how to overcome jealousy and how to make it actually work for you as well.
