iTunes, Stitcher, SoundCloud. And if you love this episode, all I ask is that you share it
with somebody that you think would benefit from it as well. So today, what we're going to be
talking about is taking action. Just like Nike says, just do it. So taking action. The world
doesn't pay you for what you know. The world pays you for what you do.
The most successful people are the people who work and get stuff done.
And the simple and true principle is that the universe rewards action.
That's it.
It rewards action.
When you take action, things start to fall in place for you.
Things can't fall in place when you're just
sitting back and quote-unquote planning, which is probably procrastinating most of the time.
So, you know, when you start to go out and you take action, people around you realize that you're
serious and they try to start helping you any way that they can. You know, you start paying
attention to the details that the universe is giving you,
you know, figuring out ways that it's helping to conspire to your plan.
You know, you start to meet people who have similar goals and you start aligning with them
and learning from them and teaching them and planning with them. And, you know, you don't
need to have it all planned out. You know, the very easy way to think of it is that it's like headlights at night.
You don't have to see the entire destination and everything that's going to happen on the
destination.
It's like headlights.
You just have to see the next few feet in front of you.
You know, you just need to go.
You need to start.
You need to keep going and you need to learn by doing.
And successful people know that they're going to fail. You hear
me say this all the time, but they know when they're going to fail, they're going to also
get back up. They expect failure, but they know they must take action. They know that
they won't start perfectly and at some point in time, they're going to fail,
but they'll learn from their mistakes, they'll recalibrate, and they'll keep taking action.
To be successful, we have to understand that we have to do things that other successful
people do.
And successful people are very action-orientated.
You can't think of anybody who's very successful that doesn't take action, that doesn't work,
that doesn't make a plan and say, all right, let's go.
And when I say success, I'm not always just talking about money. That's just what most people think about. It's just the connotation that comes in. They think of money
and I say success and people think I'm talking about money all the time. I'm just talking about
people who follow their passion and put everything that they have into that passion, whatever it
might be. It might be business. It might be going after money. It might be being happy. It might be
being a painter, whatever it might be. I'm just talking about people who follow their passion
and put everything into it. But once again, nothing's going to happen unless you take action.
You know, success is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. What does that mean?
90% of it is work, 10% is inspiration.
So hopefully I can help you with that 10% inspiration here.
The rest of it though, it's work.
I can't help you do all the work.
You got to do the work yourself for whatever it might be.
Don't worry about planning it all out.
Successful people, they set goals,
they break them into
smaller goals, and then they take action. Once again, it's the headlights. You don't have to
plan the entire way out. You just have to plan the next couple of steps. And the problem is many
people spend their whole life, quote unquote, planning what they want and never actually work
towards it. And the reason why I say quote unquote planning is because it's more than anything else. I would say procrastination. They spend their whole time aiming and then they never
actually fire. And everybody knows the phrase, uh, ready, aim, fire. You need to think of it this
way. Ready, fire, aim. What does that mean? You get ready and you just fire. You just go, you just,
you know, you take your first shot and it might be way off,
but then you recalibrate and aim.
So stop waiting for the perfect moment
because the perfect moment will never come.
So don't worry about aiming first
and planning it all out.
All you need to do is fire first,
take that action,
and then you can aim and start to plan a little bit,
recalibrate and try to hit your target.
So in order to be successful, we have to stop waiting for the perfect time.
We have to stop waiting for inspiration or to meet the right person.
We need to stop waiting for permission or reassurance from other people or, you know,
we need to stop waiting for more self-confidence,
or until we're good enough, or whatever it might be. We need to stop waiting. We need to do exactly like I said, like Nike, just do it. And the word satisfaction comes from getting
started and putting the work in. The word satisfaction is the Latin word for enough and action. So,
status is the Latin word for enough. And then faction, action at the end, that's enough action
is what satisfaction actually means. So, you get satisfaction from putting enough action in.
Ray Kroc, the founder of McDonald's has a great, great quote. And it says there's
three keys to success. Number one, being in the right place at the right time. Number two,
knowing that you're already there. And number three, taking action. So once again, there's
three keys to being successful. Number one, being in the right place at the right time.
Number two, knowing that you're already there. And number three, taking action. So don't worry
about planning so you don't fail because you're going to fail. You're going to fail. It's going
to happen. Go out and try to fail because no one has ever become successful or great without many, many, many mistakes and
many failures. One of the main reasons why people don't go out there and achieve their dreams and
go after their passions is because they're afraid to fail. They want to be a painter,
but they don't want to try to sell other stuff because they don't want to have people see it
and possibly be judged. Successful people, on the other hand, they know they're going to fail and they understand
that failing is just an important part of learning.
Failure is just another way that we learn.
Failure has a function.
The function for failure is it is a teacher and it asks you if you really want to keep
going.
It's testing you to see if this is really what you want.
So failure is a function. It's a teacher and it asks you if you really want to keep going. It's testing you to see if this is really what you want. So failure
is a function. It's a teacher and it asks you if you really want to keep going every time you fail.
So what I'm going to leave you with today are action steps. Two different action steps. Number
one, start. Just start. Just do it. You know, an inch of progress is better than a mile worth of
intention. Just start.
Just start moving.
Start going towards your goal.
You don't have to see the whole path.
You've just got to see the next couple of steps in front of you.
If you want to be a musician and you don't know how to sing, you don't know how to play,
anything like that, take the first step.
If you want to be a guitar player, go on YouTube and start learning how to play guitar.
Get lessons.
Just take the first step.
Don't be scared about the entire, you know, how long this process could be.
Take the tiny steps, you know, get your guitar, start learning, start getting better week
by week by week by week.
You know, let's say, for instance, you just put 30 minutes into guitar.
Let's actually, let's make the math easy.
So you put an hour into guitar.
You've never played guitar in your entire life.
You put an hour into guitar and you play an hour every single day for the next year.
At the next year, you've played 365 hours.
365 hours of guitar.
You know how much better you're going to be?
So don't worry about the next year.
Just worry about today.
Start.
Just start going for your dreams.
Whatever you need to do, start today.
Stop making excuses.
We have to stop making excuses.
I am completely in this boat as well.
I'm just trying to, I'm not the perfect person.
I'm just trying to tell you what I go through as well with all of these things.
We need to start.
We need to try to get better.
We need to stop planning and stop worrying and stop thinking about failure.
We just need to start, fail, recalibrate, and keep going and taking action.
So that's the first step, action step for today. Number one, we got to start. We just got to do it
like Nike says. And number two, everybody, please make it your mission today to make somebody else's
day better. As always, if you like this, share it with a friend, subscribe to us on
