I am Rob Dial and it should be by the time this episode comes out the very first day of 2016, which I am so excited about. I'm so excited to go through my goals with you guys as the year progresses and also to help you guys hit your New Year's resolutions as well. So if you like this episode, please share it with a friend and if you have not yet done so, please subscribe to us on iTunes, Stitcher or SoundCloud or however you listen to us. well. So if you like this episode, please share it with a friend. And if you have not yet done so, please subscribe to us on iTunes, Stitcher or SoundCloud or however you listen to us. And what I'm going to talk about is how to track your goals to make sure that you hit all of your goals. And so this is a very important thing. I'm going to cover something called the Pearson's law.
Starting point is 00:01:42 And let me explain what the Pearson's Law is. Word for word, this is what it is. When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported back, that rate of improvement accelerates. Let me go over it again. When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported back, that rate of improvement accelerates. So quantification in your business or in your personal life or in your goals is critical to being successful in that business, your personal life, or your goals. When working towards a goal, we must measure the performance and keep track of where we are. So how often do we set goals, set New Year's resolutions, and then not track them,
Starting point is 00:02:33 and then not do anything about them, and completely forget about them, and then the next year rolls around, and we even forgot what our goals were. So I bet that 90% of the reason why you and myself included in this, why we don't achieve our goals and our New Year's resolutions is because we don't have a system set in place to actually track it. And I want you to realize this. You need to think of your goals and you need to think of your life as a business and you're the CEO of that business. Businesses, all of them, the ones that are successful, they track all of the statistics, all of the numbers, everything that matters most in the business. So why should you
Starting point is 00:03:11 be any different? So I'll give you an example. Let's say that it's your goal this year to save $6,000. Just save $6,000. So what you have to realize is this. If it's to save $6,000, So what you have to realize is this, if it's to save $6,000, that would be $500 per month that you need to save. That breaks down to $125 per week. So you need to check in with yourself weekly to see how you are doing with your goals. Are you over your goals? Are you under your goals? So if you come in and your goal is to save $6,000 and this week you only save $100,
Starting point is 00:03:47 well then you are $25 short of your goal that you need to save each week. You need to make up for it over the next couple weeks and you need to check in with yourself weekly on all of your goals. And I recommend that you please, please, please, please, please, if you get anything from this, write down what your goals are in your New Year's resolutions
Starting point is 00:04:06 at the very least and to make it even better, tell somebody about it and have that person be someone that you check in with and be your accountability partner weekly as well. So you need to check in with yourself to see where you are if you're over or under your goals. The same thing goes for health. Most people, one of the biggest things,
Starting point is 00:04:24 money and fitness are the the biggest things, money and fitness are the two biggest things that people like to concentrate on as far as their actual goals for New Year's resolutions. So the same goes for health, your weight loss, your meal planning, all of that stuff, you need to have a system set in place. And if you don't follow us on Facebook, the reason why I'm bringing this up is because we actually have a group that we started outside of the MWF Motivation group to help you with your fitness goals for 2016. So first what you want to do is follow us on Facebook. It's MWF Motivation, no spaces. It's actually MWF Motivation, no spaces, and then one space and the next word is podcast. So MWF Motivation Podcast. And we set up a group to help you guys or help anybody who wants to join the group with their health goals and their fitness goals for 2016.
Starting point is 00:05:16 So with that, do you have somebody that you're checking in with every single week? And if you don't, can you find somebody that can be your accountability partner and you hold them accountable and they hold you accountable? You need to have an accountability partner. Myself, my girlfriend and I, we're doing something different this year than we have in past years. We're going to share our New Year's resolutions with each other and then give each other permission to hold each other accountable for fitness goals, for money goals, for business goals, for relationship goals, for every possible goal that we could have. We're going to hold each other accountable for fitness goals, for money goals, for business goals, for relationship goals, for every possible goal that we could have, we're going to hold each other
Starting point is 00:05:49 accountable. So without these weekly and monthly measurements, we really cannot correct adjustments that we need to make in order to hit our goals. You know, rarely do we ever set a goal, make a plan for that goal, and then hit the goal 100% on the first try without making any adjustments at all. So it will almost never be 100% correct roadmap to our goal. We're going to have to make some detours throughout this time. So we're going to have some weeks where we fall short. But if we have weeks that we fall short, we need to make sure that we don't get down on ourselves because we're human. We need to make sure that we don't get down on ourselves because we're human. We need to make the correct adjustments that are needed and work harder in the next weeks coming up to make sure that we get back on track for our goal.
Starting point is 00:06:33 So what is it? What do I mean by this entire thing and why is it coming out today? Because today is the first day of the new year. Pearson's law is what we have to go by for our New Year's resolutions because it says when performance is measured, performance improves. So if you measure your performance throughout your goals, your goals will actually improve and your performance will improve towards your goal. Excuse me. When performance is measured and reported back, that would be your accountability partner. The rate of improvement accelerates. So when performance is measured, performance is obviously going to get better. And when you track it back and tell somebody and have that accountability partner, you will actually, your performance will improve
Starting point is 00:07:14 exponentially. So make sure that you write down all of your goals this year. Make sure that you track them and have a weekly time, usually Sunday night I would recommend, where you weekly check in with yourself and preferably with an accountability partner. And if you do this, it will make it much easier and you will be much successful in all of your goals. And I hope that throughout 2016, I can help motivate you. And I hope that you find that accountability partner that can help motivate you as well. And if you like this episode, please share it with your accountability partner or the person who you want to be your accountability partner. And let's kick 2016's ass and make it the best year of our lives.
Starting point is 00:07:55 So with that, I'm going to leave you with the one thing I leave you with every single time I talk to you. And that is please make it your mission today to make somebody else's day better. And I hope that you have an amazing day. Well, that's it for today's podcast.
