Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast. I am your host, Rob Dial. If you have not yet done
so, please subscribe to us,

of way. That is how we're going to grow to be one of the biggest podcasts in the world.
Because you and I and our entire community is taking over this whole world with motivation,
with positivity, and all of that good stuff. And today what I'm going to be talking about is excuses.
And the reason why is because excuses are like buttholes.
Everybody has one and they all stink.
And the reason why I want to tell you that is this.
I was on a podcast interview.
I was being interviewed by somebody else today.
And he said, you know, all of the stuff that
you're saying is really good. I love it. But what if there's somebody out there and they say,
hey, this sounds really good. All of this stuff about becoming an entrepreneur,
about following your passion sounds really good. But I can't do this because I have a mortgage
and I have a family and I have all of this stuff that I have to take care of.
What do you say to that person? And what I said is this,
if you're already thinking that,
you might as well turn off the podcast
and stop listening to this episode
because you have already counted yourself out.
There's nothing that I can say to you
to change your mind about you being successful
because you have already counted yourself out.
You have already made the excuse
that you can't do that, whatever it is. So let's say that for instance, there's somebody out there. Let's just, I'll give
you an example. Let's say that some guy named John is out there and he listens to my podcast
and he says, this is all really good stuff. I love this. I want to be an entrepreneur.
I want to do this and go out and be successful. I want to do all that stuff, but I can't because,
or he says, I want to do all of that, but I can't because... Or he says,
I want to do all that stuff, but blank. And there's some type of blank in there.
Well, that blank is you filling your head with reasons why you can't do it before you even try.
So let's say John wants to be a successful entrepreneur,
but he can't because he's like, Oh man, I have a mortgage and kids. Yeah. Well,
there's a lot of people that have a mortgage and kids. And the thing about having a mortgage and kids is most
people do have that. And I guarantee that there's some successful entrepreneurs that were out there
that had a mortgage and kids. But I guess I can guarantee you that those people didn't see that
as an excuse of why they could not
succeed at what they wanted to.
Actually, what I would probably guess is those people saw it as an excuse of why they had
to succeed.
They had to succeed at this.
They had to follow their passion.
They had to go become an entrepreneur in general, and they had to succeed at it because they
have a family that needs to see them succeed. They have
a family that they need to support. They have a mortgage that they need to actually pay.
So instead of using it as an excuse, those people flip it around and their excuse,
what would be a normal person's excuse, now becomes their purpose. So I want to ask you this,
how many times have you been in the situation where you're like, man, I really want to do
this, but whatever it is, some excuse, just fill it with whatever it is.
So excuses, you can come up with a million of them.
Here's the thing, though.
You can come up with an excuse.
And when you do, you're automatically turning your mind into reasons why you cannot do it.
So what I want you to start focusing on is not the reasons why you cannot do it,
because I'm sure there's a million reasons why you cannot do whatever it is you want to do.
But take those reasons of why you can't do whatever it is you can't do, whatever it is
that you can't do, it's a tongue twister, and turn them into reasons why you can do it.
I used to hear a phrase all the time. I still hear it sometimes and I love it.
And it says, I can't, therefore I must. And what that means is that I can't do this for these reasons, which is the reason why I have to figure out why I will do it, why I will be successful at
it. So if you're in that situation, if you're the type of person that likes to make excuses,
stop making excuses and figure out ways
to actually change your wording around to figure out how you can overcome it.
So for instance, if there's a wall that you have to climb and it's 40 feet tall,
the only thing that you can think is, you can't think, man, there's no way I can climb this wall.
The only thing you can think is, I'm going to have to's no way I can climb this wall. The only thing you can think is I'm
going to have to figure out a way to climb this wall. And if you think that all the time and you
change your mindset to nothing is going to hold me back, there's no reason that I could come up
with an excuse for this. I will never make an excuse to get in my life. And you start living
your life that way, you'll start to notice that it becomes easier to conquer your fears. It becomes easier to face these challenges. It becomes easier to do the things that you want to
do and to live the life that you want and to follow your life with passion. So I'm making
it a very short episode for you so that you can just learn that don't say anything about reasons
why you can't succeed. Don't ever say, I can't. Don't ever say anything like that. Don't even let
that thought come into your mind. And if it does, immediately remove it. Change your life by saying,
I'm going to do this and here are the reasons why, instead of saying, I can't and here are
the reasons why. So with that, I want to leave you the same way that I leave you every single day.
Make it your mission to make somebody else's day better. And I hope that you go out there, you conquer everything, you live your life with
passion, and I hope that you have an amazing day. Well, that's it for today's podcast. If you want
