coaching clients within the past couple months and actually decided that it's probably going to open up at least one,
possibly two more coaching spots. So if you do want to coach with me, I'm actually going to be
talking about one of my coaching clients in today's episode. Then you can email me rob
at MWF motivation and I can give you some more information on that if coaching is something that
you want or are interested in. So before we dive into today's episode, if you have not listened to the previous two episodes,
the first one was the law of attraction and the second one was the law of action. If you have not
yet listened to those, I would recommend listening to those before you listen to this one because the
other ones are going to help this one make a lot more sense. So we're talking about money. We're
talking about how you view money and attracting more money to
you. So let me ask you this question. How do you view money? What is your personal relationship
with money? Do you love money? Do you hate money? Is it hard for you to come by? Do you worry about
paying the bills? What is your relationship with money? And that's what you really need to figure
out before anything else. So what is your personal relationship with money? And how do you think about it? And how do you view
money every single day? And I find that most people in the world and a lot of my coaching
clients as well have a really bad relationship with money. And I completely understand this
because I had the exact same relationship with money as well up until a few years ago. And I completely
understand because I was not born rich. My family is not rich. In fact, there were times that I
remember when I was a kid that it was really, really tough. And I mean, really, really tough.
And we did not have enough money for a lot of things. And naturally, I remember it being really
hard to make money. I remember my mom having to
work multiple jobs. So I thought money was hard to come by. So naturally, I remember it being so
hard. So naturally, when I was growing up, and as I was getting older and starting to make money,
I was starting to think this is really hard to make money. And then when I made more money,
I could never keep it. And I made tons of money. Eventually, I was making over six figures
when I was 22 years old. And I could never figure out how to keep that money in my bank account.
It's like I always spent it. So I was making more, but I could never keep it.
And I don't know if you've ever been that way. I'm assuming most of you guys have
been that way where you've had this relationship with money, or you start making more money,
or you finally get your first real job, but you can't seem to save it even though you got a huge raise from what you're
making before. And you make more money, but you can't seem to save it for some reason.
Let me explain how this works. Your relationship with money will dictate how much you will make
and how much you will save and how much you will enjoy that money throughout your lifetime.
how much you will save and how much you will enjoy that money throughout your lifetime.
Your relationship with money will dictate how much money you will save, how much money you will have throughout your entire lifetime, and how much you will make. This is not something
that's talked about or even taught at school, but it's probably one of the most important things
that you could possibly learn in the world is your relationship with money and how you view it. See, after realizing how the law of attraction
works, when I first learned about it, I realized that I needed a huge, and I mean massive,
shift in my mindset in every single thing of my life. And one of the biggest ones,
one of the single biggest ones that I needed,
the biggest shift in my mindset was the way that I viewed money and the way that I thought about it.
And my relationship with money was... I thought it was very scarce. It was hard to come by.
I was worried about being able to pay the bills. It was always paycheck to paycheck, no matter how much money I made. And most of us, we have a scarcity mindset
with almost anything in the world, but especially with money. And what I mean by a scarcity mindset
is we feel like there's never enough. We worry about money. We think that we don't have enough.
We think that we'll never have enough. We think that it's never enough. We constantly worry about
how we might not be able to pay the bills and how all of this stuff happens think that it's never enough. We constantly worry about how we might not be
able to pay the bills and how all of this stuff happens. And it's just constantly worrying.
And what you have to realize is if your relationship with money is like that,
now that we've talked about vibration, we've talked about all of those things before,
what kind of vibration do you think that you're putting out if you're constantly worrying
and always thinking about money in that sort of way? Not a good one. You're not in a good frequency. You need to switch your frequency.
So like I said, it's not something that's talked about, but this is something that I learned
was I needed to change my mindset and how I viewed money. And one day, I remember this
specifically, I was saving up for Europe because I was going to quit my job at the end of May.
And I was going to go to Europe for three months and backpack for three
months, which I ended up doing. And I remember it was the beginning of 2012. And my mom asked
how much I had saved. And it was only like $3,000 at the time. And it was nowhere near what I needed
to be able to quit my job and go to Europe. And I had already bought my plane ticket. So there was no
question I had to go to Europe. That's all there was. And she asked, she said, you've only saved like $3,000. You worried about how
you're going to get how much money you need in order? Like it's going to cost you a lot of money.
Are you worried about it? And I said, no, I'm not worried about it because I know that I'm going to
make enough money. I know that this money is going to come in. I know that I'm going to work hard
enough to be able to get this money. And I'm going to work my tail off the next few months just to make sure that I get this money. I'm not worried about it because I
know that if I worry about it, then I'm not going to be able to get it. That's just how the universe
works. She's like, okay, cool, whatever. Well, the next five months consecutively were my five
biggest commission paychecks leading up to going off to Europe. And in that time, I saved over $30,000 in those five
months because I wasn't worried about it, because I knew that it would be there. I knew that it
would come to me. And I stopped worrying about it, even when things started to kind of get a
little bit tough. Now, fast forward a little bit. At the end of 2012, I moved to Austin and hadn't
worked for about a year. 2013 rolled around as the beginning of 2013.
And I only had like $5,000 left in my bank account, which means that I only had a couple
more months where I could actually live, pay all of my bills, pay my car, pay my rent,
moved over to Austin, everything that I had. So it was about March of 2013.
And I didn't have a job. And I hadn't worked almost a year. And my mom, I had a conversation
with her and she's like, you know, have you found a job yet? How's everything going with money?
And she's like, well, it sounds like you're getting kind of close. Like you don't have,
you only have a month, two months left of being able to pay your bills before things start getting
really, really tight. Are you worried about it? And I said, no, I'm not worried about it.
That's not how money works. I don't believe that's how money works. I know that if I believe that money is going to come to
me and I'm going to find a job and I'm going to be able to pay my bills and I'm going to be able
to live in Austin because I know this is where I'm supposed to be, that it's going to work itself
out. And I know that it's going to work itself out. And I know I'm going to find a job and I
know I'm going to make money and I know money is going to be coming to me anyways.
Three days later, no joke, three days later, I got a call from my company. And some
of you may have heard this story before. I got a call from the company that I quit the previous
year to go to Europe. And they said, Rob, we made a mistake on paychecks for the past couple years.
We owe you some money. And they owed me $23,000. And I got a $23,000 check from them.
And it was because I think that I just was not worrying
about money vibrationally. And I knew that it was going to come to me. So then just to kind of give
you an idea, I took every single dollar of that check. And I said, I'm not going to spend this
because I know that I'm going to get a job. I know that money is going to come to me.
Very next week, I get a job making the most money I'd ever made at that point in time in my life.
next week, I get a job making the most money I'd ever made at that point in time in my life.
And things just started working out the way it was. Now, fast forward to just a few weeks ago,
and I was talking to my girlfriend about scarcity versus abundance and how if we are scarce and we believe that there's never enough and we think that there's never enough, then we will never
have enough of something. And it's all about our relationship with money and
how we view it. I was talking to her about this and I was talking to her about when I first bought
my house, I kind of had these worries of, man, what if something crazy happens? What if I get
super sick? Or what if part of the house catches on fire? Something crazy happens like that.
And it's going to be hard for me to pay everything off. And now that I have this huge commitment of
a massive loan for this huge house that I have and all of these things. And now that I have this huge commitment of a massive loan for this
huge house that I have and all of these things. And I was worried about it in the past. I'm not
worried about it anymore because I know that that's not the right way to attract money.
And if I think about all the bad things that could happen, I will attract bad things into
my life and I don't want that to happen. So we had this big long conversation about it.
And out of nowhere, she was with me. About three
hours later, I got a contract out of nowhere that I was not expecting for $7,500. This is just a few
hours after talking to her about how if we switch our mindset from scarcity to abundance, and we
believe that there's enough and we believe that it's going to come to us and we switch our station,
our frequency from AM to FM, whatever it might be, from scarcity to
abundance, from poverty to abundance and wealth, that would be the best one, from poverty to wealth,
then it just starts to come to you. And I understand that sounds like some woo-woo BS
thing about the universe, all those types of things. But let me explain to you how this works
now that I've explained to you how I've used it. So I taught this to my client about two weeks ago.
And I told him about my whole story, how this works, how you have to believe,
how you have to think about it this way.
And he told me that within the week that we talked into the next one,
he got his tax return earlier than he was expecting.
He sold the car that he was planning on flipping later on.
He sold it way earlier than he was expecting. And he got a $500 bonus check that was completely unexpected from
work that he did not know he was going to get. So do I think this stuff works? Yes. Do I know
this stuff works? Yes. Would you like me to tell you about it? Okay, let me tell you about it.
So here's how it works. You have to change your mindset with money. The last two episodes,
I talked about the law of attraction. I talked about the law of action. Law of attraction works with money as if it works with anything else as
well. And here's the thing that you have to understand with it. If you don't have money now
or make the money you want, you need to ask yourself, what is your current relationship
with money? And what is your relationship with money been in the past? Do you love it?
Do you hate it? Are you afraid of it? Are you worried every single month? Are you worried to check your
bank account? I know what you're talking about. I have been worried to look at my bank account.
But if you're worried to look at your bank account every single time, do you think that
sends out the right vibration of getting the right amount of money that you want in your bank account?
Absolutely not. What kind of relationship with money is that? If you hate it, if you're afraid of it,
if you're worried about it every single month.
And think about the vibration that you're putting out
if that's the way that you think about money.
When you go on holiday,
there is no finer achievement than doing absolutely nothing.
Nothing on the beach, nothing by the pool,
walking kind of nowhere and chatting about nothing. As an Expedia member, you can save up to 30% when you add a hotel to your flight. So you can have a bit more money to go out there with great ambition to do absolutely nothing. Expedia. Made to travel.
Expedia. Made to travel.
You need to shift your thoughts. You need to shift your mindset about money.
You need to shift your subconscious as well. So if you think about it, if you constantly think about money in a bad way, that's going to store it into your subconscious in a bad way. That's
going to give you a bad paradigm. So in order to change it, we need to change our thoughts about
money and the way we think about it in order to change how it is stored in our subconscious
in order to change our paradigm. And if this doesn't make sense to you, you need to go back
two episodes and listen to The Law of Attraction because then it'll all make sense to you.
So we need to change our thoughts to change what stores our subconscious to change our paradigm
with money. And once again, if you think about the universe as a parent, like I explained in
the past where I said, think about it as a teacher. Well, think about the universe as a parent, like I explained in the past where I said, think about it as a teacher. Well, think about the universe as a parent this time. You have child A and you have
child B. Child A is a great kid. They have toys. They love their toys. They never destroy them.
They share them with all the other kids. They thank you whenever you give them the new toys.
They're just so appreciative of all the toys. And you can tell that this kid is just very appreciative of all of the stuff that they have. Then you also have child B. They hate their toys.
They're never satisfied with their toys. They always want more. They cry that they always want
more, that they never have enough. They never pick up after them. They're never grateful for
all of the toys that they have and they never share with them. Well, the next time you get a
toy, which child are you more likely to give that toy to? Child A. It's the exact same thing with money. Are you being child
A or are you being child B when your relationship with money, if the universe is your parents?
And once again, if you are religious, you can think about this any way that you want to. You
can think about God. You can think about whoever you worship, whatever it might be. If you're not religious, understand that the world works a certain way. And this is
the same universe that spins all of the planets that keeps them all in line, that makes the
flowers open up, that makes your heart beat and your blood pump and make you breathe without you
ever having to think about it. So there's something working in order here. You have to understand that.
So with the universe, it's the exact same thing. If they're a parent, are you being the
grateful kid that shares his toys, that never destroys them, that's grateful for all of them
and very appreciative? Or are you the one that has a relationship with their toys and their money
where you're never satisfied? You cry about how you never have enough. You never pick up. You
never share it, any of those. What's your relationship with money? If your child be, then we're going to need to make sure
that we shift your paradigm, which starts with your thoughts. You need to learn to be grateful
for what you have while working for what you want. Be grateful because no matter how bad it might be
right now for you, there's people, there's children in third world countries
that are struggling right now to find fresh water to live to tomorrow. And some of us are out there,
some of you guys are out there and you're crying about how you can't buy the shoes that you want.
You need to learn to be grateful before you can start receiving more is what you have to realize.
The universe is not going to gift you if you cry about all the things that you don't have that you want. You need to switch your
mind from scarcity to abundance. You need to switch your mind from scarcity to abundance.
How do you switch from scarcity to abundance? You need to start being grateful and realize
all of the things that are around you, all of the things that you do have,
everything that's around you. And when you get money, do you share your money?
When you see a homeless person on the side of the road, do you buy them a sandwich? You don't need
to give them your money, but you can also give them some type of sandwich or something to eat
or some crackers or water, whatever it might have around there. Because no matter what your view is
on what they do with the money or how they do it,
everybody needs food and everybody needs water so you can still help people out.
If you saw a child who you gave a toy to sharing that toy with all of the other kids around,
would you be more likely to give that child a toy next time?
Yes. The more you give is the more you get is not just a BS phrase about happiness and all of that crap.
It's true. If you share what you have and you're grateful for what you have and you stop complaining,
you will get more. If you complain about stuff, just think about it. What does complaining do
for you? Absolutely nothing. It actually hurts you more than anything else. The universe will not give
money to that crappy kid that complains and cries about all of their
toy problems. They're not going to give it to the kid that talks about all of their, or the adult,
and I do adult with air quotes, that complains about all of their money problems. And I'm going
to let you in on a secret. Here's the secret. If you always talk about how you never have money,
you will never have money.
That's just the way that it works.
And it's not just money.
It works that way with everything.
Now, you might be listening to me and say, hey, this is great.
But how do I shift my mindset?
Well, then now that I've given you a 16-minute run up to, hey, why is it good to shift your
mindset?
Let me tell you how to shift your mindset and how exactly to do it
the way I would recommend. Here's a few tips. Number one is start with affirmations. Let me
explain affirmations. I'll explain them in another episode as well. Google them. Google what an
affirmation is, but you need to start saying stuff to yourself, mantras, whatever it might be,
short things that you say to yourself over and over and over and over and over again,
to start tricking your brain, your subconscious and storing it to switch your paradigm.
Stuff like, there is enough money in the world. I will always be able to pay my bills. Whatever
it might be. And you say these to yourself hundreds, if not thousands and thousands of time
to have it start. You start thinking it because if you say it enough, you will start believing it.
Number two is to go to your bank account and get out every single
dollar that you own. Every single dollar. And the bank's going to hate you for this.
But let's say you have $2,000 in your bank account. Let's just give this as an example.
I want you to get out $2,000 in your bank account and you can get them out in any
denomination that you want. You can get them out in ones, you can get them out in tens, 20s,
50s, 100s. I would probably do 50s or or hundreds if you could. And what I would say is take out
every single dollar that you have in your bank account. And I would go to your bed or to your
floor or whatever it is. And I want you to say, how much money do you want to make next month?
Maybe you want to make $10,000 next month. What you do is you take that $2,000 and you count out
100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, and you do it over and over and over again until you get
to $10,000. And you do this over and over and over again because what you're doing is you're
actually getting the physical feeling of counting over and over and over and over again, which will
raise your standards of what is acceptable for you
to make. So if you want to make $10,000, if you want to make $20,000, whatever it is, take out
every dollar that you have. If you only have $100 in your bank account, well, then get a whole bunch
of tens, get 10 tens and count out the $10,000 that you want to make next month, whatever it
might be. And what you'll do is you'll start to normalize the feeling of having a lot of money. Counting out a lot of money is what you will be doing.
So get it. Rub your hands on it. Get the physical feeling of actually feeling and counting over and
over and over again will raise your standards of what is acceptable to you, which will naturally
make you want to go out and make more and attract more to you as well. So that's number two. Get out
every single dollar,
do whatever you need to do. After you're done with that, put it back in your bank account
and start believing that you're going to start making that much money.
Number three would be active appreciation. Now with active appreciation, when you get your next
paycheck, whenever you get your, yeah, let's say your next paycheck or whenever you get some type
of money, whatever it might be, what I want you to next paycheck or whenever you get some type of money,
whatever it might be. What I want you to do is stop wherever you are, close your eyes,
physically hold onto it and say thank you to whatever you believe in. If you're religious,
thank you to God. Thank you to whoever you believe in. If you're not religious,
hold that money, hold that check and say thank you to the universe. And I will just tell you this,
the more grateful that
you start becoming, the more you will start attracting into your life. Think about it this
way. Think about, I want you to take yourself on the journey. Take 10, 20 minutes and take
yourself on the journey of the very first dollar that you made. Maybe the very first dollar that
you made was allowance, or maybe you sold something and it was your very first sale.
Take the first dollar that you made. Think about it. Your first allowance. Let's just use that
as an example. And think about how much that was and how excited that you were when you got that
first $10. And you were like, oh my gosh, $10. I can do anything. I can buy anything that I want
now. And now think about the first job that you got and your very first
paycheck. And then think about the first time you got your first real job or whatever it might be,
and your biggest paycheck and take yourself through that journey. Take 10 or 20 minutes
and think about how far you've become and how grateful you are that you are where you are now
versus where you were at one point in time. So take yourself through that act of appreciation,
through that every single time of these are all the times I got paid. This is how much I made.
And now that you realize, hey, I was really excited about $10. Now I make $1,000 every
couple of weeks. What am I crying about? Like I should be more appreciative because that's
a hundred times more than I used to make. So active appreciation. And number four is this, and this is a big one. I'd recommend this
to everybody is to always carry a $100 bill on you all the time. Always carry a $100 bill on you
all the time, but you can never spend that $100 bill. And here's why. If you have a $100 bill on
you, then you can walk down the street all day, every day, whenever you're going around anywhere,
walk down the street and in your head, you can look at something, maybe a shirt that you like,
or maybe shoes that you like, whatever it might be. And in your head, you can go, I can buy that.
Oh yeah, I could buy that too. I could buy that too. Oh, coffee. Yeah, I could buy that if I
wanted to. Oh, those sandwiches, I could buy that. Hey, I could probably buy these girls some drinks
if they wanted to. I could probably buy that person their food if I wanted to. I could buy that. I could buy all of these things. And what happens is you
adjust your mindset from never having enough to having enough. Because if you spend that money
in your head a thousand times a day, if you go, oh, I could buy that. Oh yeah, I could buy that.
I could buy that. Then you're spending that $100 in your head a thousand times a day. So in your brain, you are spending $100,000 a day
in your mind. It changes your vibration to never having enough, to having more than you need.
And that's when you get even more. It changes your mind from scarcity of never having enough
to having abundance because you know that you could buy all those things if you want to.
So always keep that $100 bill on you every single time. And the last thing I'm going to say is this. If you really want
to figure out a way to make more money, you have to go back and listen to how to make... I think
the episode is called How to Grow Your Bank Account. Because what I talk about is your
personal growth account will be in complete relation with your bank account. Your bank account will never grow unless your personal development account grows first. Your bank
account will always follow, but never, it'll always trail, but it will never jump ahead of
your personal development account. So if you want to make more money, you need to learn more.
And the reason why is because you are paid what you're worth. You are paid by how much value you
give out to the rest of the world. And you cannot give more value to the rest of the world unless you
start to learn and grow and become better as well. So the more you invest in yourself, the more in
turn you will then make as well. But if you want to know more about that, go back to the episode
that's called How to Grow Your Bank Account, where I explain that much more in depth.
So that is what I will say. The four tips that I gave you just real quick. Number one, start using affirmations to switch
your mindset. Number two is to get out every single dollar in your bank account and count it
for how much money you want to make next month. Number three, active appreciation. Every time you
get a dollar, every time you get your next paycheck, whatever it might be, close your eyes
and say thank you to whoever you want to say thank you to. And number four is to carry a hundred dollar bill on you all the time,
but to never spend that bill because then you will be able to spend it in your mind over and
over and over again, which will switch your mind, switch your thoughts, switch your subconscious
and switch your paradigm from scarcity into abundance, which will then help you start attracting more.
