Starting point is 00:00:51 the podcast starts now. Welcome to today's episode. And I am finally back from Florida from the Tony Robbins event. Got in late last night and I'm finally back in Austin, Texas, the beautiful Austin, Texas, and ready to share some knowledge with you. And what I want to talk about today is how to create a breakthrough, a breakthrough in your life. With that being said, creating a breakthrough. We all want great lives. We all want great lives. We all want to have these amazing lives where we do amazing things. We make a bunch of money. We have great relationships. We have amazing freedom around us. But most of the time, a lot of us get stuck. All of us get stuck. And something stops us from being as great as we possibly can be and being as great as we possibly can be,
Starting point is 00:02:06 but also what we're truly capable of doing. And we fall into a rut. We fall into a comfort zone. And if we're not extremely careful, we actually stay there in those comfort zones. And we all want to turn our bodies into these great machines and have these great bodies and great relationships and awesome finances or just freedom or just fulfillment in general to feel fulfilled and to feel happy. But what happens is we get stuck. We get stuck in emotional patterns. We get stuck in habits of doing the exact same thing over every single day. And a breakthrough, all that really is just that moment where something clicks, where your mindset changes and it completely opens up and you're like, oh crap, this is actually
Starting point is 00:02:50 something that could really change my life. This could be a new relationship. This could be a new path I take my life down. This could be a new business that I start or a company that I work for or a passion that I follow or a sport I start playing, something like that. It's a breakthrough. It's just where something clicks and your mind opens and your mindset changes. And this can come from many different ways. It could come from meeting somebody new. It can come from having a great conversation, from traveling to new places, from going to a seminar, or listening to podcasts, or or reading new books or watching a movie and you get some emotional attachment or something happens in the movie and you're just moved by it or could just be moved by something in general, anything in general. And for most of us, it usually happens.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Usually it happens. These big breakthroughs happen when we step outside of our comfort zone. It comes because something clicks. And at that moment, it can completely change your life and completely change the direction of your life. I know everybody out here listening can probably think, you know, there was one thing that happened in your life that completely changed your path. You were going down one direction and then something happened and you just completely went down a different direction. And that brought you to where you are now, whether it was positive or whether it was negative, either or something happened. There was this huge breakthrough in your life and those moments can completely change you and change your life. But the thing is, if we
Starting point is 00:04:19 want to break out of our normal mindset, we have to make a shift to work for what we really deserve. And here's the thing. If we want to get out of our rut, if we want to get out of our normal mindset. We have to make a shift to work for what we really deserve. And here's the thing. If we want to get out of our rut, if we want to get out of our mindset, if we want to get out of our habits and out of our comfort zone, I'm going to let a little secret in with you. I'm going to tell you a secret. Breakthroughs don't happen when you're sitting around at home doing the exact same thing that you do every day. If you want something to change your life completely, if you have hit a wall where every day seems exactly the same, it's just the same thing every single day, same crap, different toilet every single day, where you feel deep down inside that you're destined for something better, but you don't know what it is, you won't
Starting point is 00:05:03 find what it is unless you start doing something different. You won't find it doing the exact same thing every single day. Einstein said that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is insanity. So if you're not happy with where your life is right now, doing the exact same thing that you've been doing is not going to change your life. You are where you are right now in this very second because of all of the decisions that you've made in the past. So therefore, unless you make new decisions and new breakthroughs and do new things in the future, you're going to get the same crap that you've been getting. So if you are happy with where you are, well, maybe you want to keep doing the same stuff. If you're not happy with where you are,
Starting point is 00:05:42 or you're fed up, or you're depressed about it, well, then you're going keep doing the same stuff. If you're not happy with where you are or you're fed up or you're depressed about it, well, then you're going to have to make a decision right now that you're going to have to go and step outside of your comfort zone and do new things if it's really that important for you to make big changes in your life. So in order to make a breakthrough, in order to change your life or to get that spark that changes the course of your life, you need to put yourself out there. You need to break out of your comfort zone. You need change. Your environment needs to change and you need to change as well. And I get a lot of emails from people and Facebook messages from people asking how to change their lives. They're stuck. They don't like where they are. They're not sure what they're passionate
Starting point is 00:06:19 about. And they say, I'm not passionate about it. How can I find something that I'm passionate about? I really want to make changes, but I don't know what to do. Here's the thing. They ask me how to help them and I can't tell someone how to figure out their passion. That's impossible for me to do. I don't know them personally. And even if I did know them personally, I can't tell someone what they're passionate about. I can't tell them how to change their lives. That's for them to figure out. If you're in that situation, that's for you to figure out. But what I can tell you is this, your life will not change unless you do. Your life will not change unless you do, unless your environment does, unless your habits do, unless your decisions do, unless everything around you changes. Your mind and your comfort zone is basically like a plastic bag. Each time you do
Starting point is 00:07:06 something out of your comfort zone, you take that plastic bag and you stretch it. And the thing about an actual plastic bag is that once it's stretched, it can never go back to where it was. It can only stay that size. So then when you expand that comfort zone, you expand that plastic bag, you expand your mind, then you can fit more into it, more knowledge, more power, more ideas, more challenges, more relationships, more money. And that bag can never shrink again and go back to the same size. But it's not going to happen unless you get off your ass and actually make some steps to doing something different and changing your life. And this is something that I know I need to start doing more of and I wanted to share it with you I know I need to start doing more of and I wanted
Starting point is 00:07:45 to share it with you. You probably need to start doing more of, but you can't expand in your life around you. Things can't change around you unless you force it to. You can't sit around waiting for things to change. You have to change. You have to make the changes. You have to change yourself and you have to change your environment. Once again, you cannot wait around waiting for things to change. You have to be the change that you want to make. You have to go out there and make the steps to do so. You have to step out of your comfort zone. Ben Franklin says that most people die by 25, but they aren't buried until 75. Let me say that again. Starting point is 00:08:30 This was a couple hundred years ago. He said this. And the reason why is because what happens? They get into the comfort zone by the age of 25 and they stay in that comfort zone forever and nothing changes. They don't get better. They don't try to become better. All they do is they just do the exact same thing for 50 years until one day they die. Don't be that person. So in order to
Starting point is 00:08:50 create the breakthroughs that you really want to, in order to make your life path what you want it to, you must push yourself. And I mean push yourself out of your comfort zone. It will be uncomfortable to do this and that's why it's called a comfort zone because getting out of your comfort zone. It will be uncomfortable to do this. And that's why it's called a comfort zone because getting out of it is going to make you uncomfortable. You need to travel to new places. You need to read new things. You need to go to new restaurants.
Starting point is 00:09:13 You need to eat new things. You need to meet new people. You need to learn new sports. You need to go to networking events, even when you're introverted as hell. Your mind needs to change. Things around you need to change. Everything needs to change. Try driving home from work or driving to work in a different route.
Starting point is 00:09:30 See what else there is. I love going to different places I've never been to. And that's one of the things I love about Austin and stuff is changing so quickly because I hate going to the same places. My friends like to go to the same restaurants and the same bars and all of these, the same things over and over again. I can't do it. I want to constantly push myself outside of my comfort zone and go to places that are uncomfortable. And that's what I would recommend for you as well. That is how you create a breakthrough is by putting yourself in these positions
Starting point is 00:09:54 where your mind opens up and then you think, oh my gosh, something just changed. And it just clicks. Something happens and you go, oh man, it's that spark that you were waiting for. But that spark and that breakthrough is never going to come unless you go outside of your comfort zone and start experiencing new things and doing new things and meeting new people. And you need to push yourself out of your comfort zone. When it feels uncomfortable
Starting point is 00:10:18 is when it's right. That's what you're supposed to do. Don't try to feel comfortable. And if you keep doing the same things, you will get the same results. So push yourself outside of your comfort zone. And the challenge that I'm going to leave you with today is what can you do today and every day to push yourself outside of your comfort zone? Do something that scares you every single day and you will get the breakthrough that you want. If you're stuck and you don't know where you want to go, you need to start pushing
Starting point is 00:10:43 yourself outside of your comfort zone. Eventually, that breakthrough will come through because of the fact that you're outside doing new things, doing different things, and you're expanding your mindset. So with that being said, I'm going to leave you the same way that I leave you every single episode.
