Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Mindset and Motivation Podcast, one of the top motivational podcasts in the world. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, we come out with a short, to the point, no BS episode to help make massive changes in your mind and transform you from who you are now to who you want to be. My name is Rob Dial, and the podcast starts now. Welcome to today's episode. If you have not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so that you never miss another episode. And as you have heard me say in the past couple episodes,
Starting point is 00:00:44 two things real quick. Number one, I'm giving away a free iPad. I'm going to make the announcement never miss another episode. And as you have heard me say in the past couple episodes, two things real quick. Number one, I'm giving away a free iPad. I'm going to make the announcement on June 10th who the winner of the iPad is. And the winner of the iPad is going to go to somebody who gives a rating and review to this podcast. So, you know, I'm going to go through it and look at the past couple months. Basically, probably six weeks, I think, was the first time I asked. So about six weeks from now, I'm going to look back and actually find somebody, pick a random person there, and give a free iPad to them. So if you want to enter yourself into the contest, it's pretty good odds. I mean, there's not 10,000 people that have entered this drawing.
Starting point is 00:01:14 It's only a couple hundred, which is pretty awesome. So you have a pretty good chance of better odds than winning a lottery, I guess you could say, of winning this iPad. So if you would like to pay it back to us, if you love anything that we've back to us, if you love anything that we've ever put out, I would greatly appreciate it. And you also at the same time, if you give us a rating review, put yourself in a drawing for the possibility to go ahead and win yourself a iPad Air. So that's the first thing. The second thing, once again, there's over,
Starting point is 00:01:40 man, there's a lot of people, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people who have signed up on the wait list to learn about the Iron Mind 60, which is a 60-day challenge I have coming up. And once again, because of the fact that I'm traveling a lot, it's really hard for me to figure out what dates it's going to be, but it's going to be happening in the next couple of weeks. So if you're out there, you know that you're ready to make a change in your life. I mean, I feel like I know my audience really well. I feel like I know you guys really well. I've gotten emails years and years and years, and I know what you guys want and need. And this is just the one thing it came to me. And I was like, this is what everyone needs. They need just a big kick in the ass to just really get their life going. And that's what's
Starting point is 00:02:17 going to be like, I'm telling you, I'm so ridiculously excited to do it because I love challenging myself. And I know how I always come out on the other side of a challenge. There's also a part of me, if I'm being completely honest, it's a little bit scared because I know even for myself, it's going to be a struggle some point in time in the 60 days. And I know for you, it'll be a struggle as well, but we're going to struggle together because I'm not just going to coach you through it. I'm going to be doing it on my own and I'm going to be coaching you through it every single day as well. So if you are interested in putting yourself on the wait list to at least learn about it, when the information comes out, go to coach, you have to go to www.coachwithrob.com slash 60. That's a six zero. So www.coachwithrob.com
Starting point is 00:02:57 slash 60. I'm so freaking excited about it. Like I cannot wait to tell you more information on it. I just want to start it to be honest with you. And it's going to be an interesting, like I, what the funny thing is before I dive into today's episode, the funny thing, and I'm going to tell you more information on it. I just want to start it to be honest with you. And it's going to be an interesting, like I, what's funny thing is before I dive into today's episode, the funny thing, and I'm going to tell you guys, just be completely honest with you. It's the worst time in the world to do this challenge for me. Cause I'm literally challenged. I think the challenge, the date that we think it might start on, I'm actually going to be in Mexico and, uh, I'm going to be on like a sprint of, of straight of traveling. And then after that, I'm going to, you know, a few days after that, I'm going to be going to Vegas for a party that I was invited to at Tony Robbins. So it's a terrible time for me, which makes it the perfect time.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Because how often do we make excuses of why we're not where we want to be, right? Like, oh yeah, this isn't the perfect time. This isn't the time. And it's just, it's never the perfect time to do anything, oh yeah, this isn't the perfect time. This isn't the time. And it's just, it's never the perfect time to do anything, which means that it's always the perfect time because there never will be a perfect time. So starting now is the time. So for me, I'm going to be in Mexico most likely by the time it starts, but I'm, I'm just so excited to, to get to see your guys' faces through Facebook, to connect deeper, to know you deeper, because I put these
Starting point is 00:04:04 podcasts out and I record them in my house and I don't get to see your guys' faces. I don't get to hear your stories. I don't get to see your pictures. I'm so excited to be a part of this with you guys. And I cannot wait from the bottom of my heart. I'm so excited to do it. And I can't wait to give you more information about it. But once again, if you want to go, it's www.coachwithrob.com slash 60. And you have to put the www in there. But I'm going to talk about one of the actual aspects of the 60 day challenge today, because I have a lot of people ask me about cold showers. So I'm going to tell you guys the benefits of freezing your freaking tail off.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Okay. And, uh, you know, I started following a guy named Wim Hof a while ago and, uh, Wim Hof is called the Iceman and he does some crazy freakish stuff. And so I'm going to give you what I feel are the three most important parts of taking a cold shower and why that is. If you guys have been following me for a long time, my house that I still have, but I rent out now, I used to have a kiddie pool in the backyard. It was a 10 foot long blow up kiddie pool. And the only reason why I had it was because in the winter I'd fill it up with water and I would leave it outside. And, uh, you know, we'd get to 40. I mean, it froze over a few times, completely froze. I could stand on top of it, but you know, we would get to 30 degrees, 40 degrees, 45 degrees. It was usually on average about 45 degrees in the winter inside of that
Starting point is 00:05:18 pool. And I wake up every single morning and I would immediately jump inside of that pool. And people were like, my girlfriend, number one, she lives with me. And she's like, you're a fricking wacko. Like, why do you do this? Now we live inside of an apartment. I rent out my house. We live in an apartment in downtown Austin and she hears me take showers. And she always knows that I'm taking a cold shower because she can hear me breathing. Cause there's a breathing aspect you're supposed to have when you do these cold showers. She's never taken a cold shower once, so she thinks I'm insane. But I'm going to tell you
Starting point is 00:05:50 guys why I think it's important to take cold showers. Number one, the first thing is to do what you don't want to do. Okay. And if you want to be successful, whatever success means to you, it doesn't have to be money. It doesn't have to be fame. Success to me means happiness, like happiness, freedom, freedom and happiness. That is success to me. And I know in order to create more freedom in my life and more happiness in my life, I'm going to have to push myself and to do things that I don't want to do, right? If I want to go along and I really want to impact the world, I have to do things that I want to do. There's parts of my business that I have that I really don't want to do, guys. And that being said, if I want to impact the world, there's parts of my business that I don't want to do, but I have to do anyways.
Starting point is 00:06:34 If I can get better at executing at those things, I'm going to impact more people in the world, and I'm going to change more lives, and I'm also going to change my life in the process as well. So the first thing is the aspect of doing what you don't want to do. The difference between a successful person, unsuccessful person is not that the successful person is born with special gifts or they have some special talents. The difference is that a successful person does what they don't want to do. That's it. They do what they, you know, they feel those, the little voice inside of their head talking
Starting point is 00:07:03 crap, but they do it anyways. They hear the haters. They do it anyways. Excuse me. They wake up early, even though they don't want to, but they do it anyways, right? It's to do what you don't want to do to build the life that you want, right? I always say you do what you don't want to do because eventually you're going to build yourself into the person that can do anything that you want to do. It's kind of like the, it's also kind of like the phrase, you know, I will do today what others won't so I can do tomorrow what others can't. You know, that's, that's the way I see doing what you don't want to do. That's the way I see a cold shower is doing what you don't want to do. Right? I think the mental aspect of it is just, it's kind of a beautiful struggle, right? It's the beautiful struggle of forcing your brain to be
Starting point is 00:07:46 okay with not being comfortable because there's nothing comfortable ever about being in a cold shower. So that's the first thing I think about doing what you don't want to do. That's the biggest thing for me. When you go on holiday, there is no finer achievement than doing absolutely nothing. Nothing on the beach, nothing by the pool, walking kind of nowhere and chatting about nothing. As an Expedia member, you can save up to 30% when you add a hotel to your flight. So you can have a bit more money to go out there with great ambition to do absolutely nothing. Expedia, made to travel. The second thing is this, is to suffer a little bit. You know, there's a couple of things that you have to realize is that life is not always easy. And the more that I can allow myself to
Starting point is 00:08:39 go through, because it's not like I take a cold shower, I turn it on cold for 15 seconds and then I turn it back to hot. No, I literally, you know, if I'm going to take a complete cold shower, I'll take a complete cold shower, like from the beginning, I'll hop in and it's cold. And then what I usually do is start it at, you know, not warm, but pretty much room temperature. And then I just slowly go down. And for the last five or 10 minutes, I'll sit in and be completely cold. And then what I do is I actually don't turn it on hot again. I keep it at cold. I turn it off. And I usually, when I, you know, by the time I, uh, get out, it's, it's, I'm, I'm cold. I'm shivering a little bit. It's good for your body. It's good for your
Starting point is 00:09:15 body to shiver. It gets rid of brown fat, which you can Google. I don't need to dive into it. Um, you know, I'm not some scientist or doctor, but that's what I've heard is that it's, you know, it's supposed to be better at getting rid of your brown fat, which is supposed to be the fat that's harder to get rid of. But it's okay to suffer a little bit because life is not always easy. The way I see the Iron Mind 60 and the way I see every single, you know, just even this cold shower is to prepare yourself for the world, right? Like I know, you know, being my age, I still have a lot of life to live. Hopefully I still have another 50 years.
Starting point is 00:09:51 And if I'm being real, shit's going to hit the fan in the next 50 years. But I'm trying to prepare my mind the same way that a, you know, a gladiator would prepare his body for battle. I'm trying to prepare my mind knowing that when things are peaceful, I'll be at ultimate peace. But when things get really bad, I'll still be at a level of peace. And that's where I'm trying to, that's what doing what you don't want
Starting point is 00:10:15 to do allows you to get to. That's what suffering a little bit allows you to get to. So the second part of it is just allowing yourself to go through the suffering. Allow yourself to be comfortable being really uncomfortable because it's not really quick cold and then really quick hot. It's cold for a long time and then I get out of the shower and I'm cold for a long time after. And it's okay. And some of you guys out there, you're like, hell yeah, I get this. This Rob guy knows exactly what I need to do.
Starting point is 00:10:43 I'm challenging myself. And some of you guys are out there and you're like, this sounds weird and sadistic. And I would never want to do a cold shower. It's okay. It's up to you, whatever it is that you want to feel. But I know for me, it has built mental calluses in my brain. Just like you have calluses after you work out for a long time. I look at my hands and I have calluses on the inside of my, you know, where my fingers are, my palms. I've calluses from holding heavy weights and from pushing, right? That is skin that has been built to be tougher because it's gone through a lot. I'm trying to build my mind to be tougher, knowing that something's probably
Starting point is 00:11:17 going to happen the next 50 years, right? And even if nothing happens, there's still some joy in coming out on the other side, which is number three, right? The joy of doing something that you is a challenge and then coming out on the other side and being like, oh my God, I wouldn't have done this a year ago. I wouldn't have done this six months ago. I wouldn't have done this five years ago. I am becoming a newer, better, stronger version of myself, right? It's just that joy of finishing something that you didn't necessarily know that you could finish. And it starts really small. We're just hopping in the shower when it's cold. So that's my sales pitch on what exactly it does
Starting point is 00:12:01 for you. So for those of you guys that are out there and you listen to my voice and you're like, on what exactly it does for you. So for those of you guys that are out there and you listen to my voice and you're like, you know what? I've listened to Rob for a while. I trust him. I feel that he's pushed me. I've gotten some little nugget from him
Starting point is 00:12:12 and that some little nugget has changed my life. Just try it. Try a cold shower. It's not easy. It's freaking hard, especially if your shower gets really cold. And I've been in some really cold showers. When we're over in Italy,
Starting point is 00:12:27 for some reason, I don't know where the water comes from. It feels like Antarctica, but it's so freaking cold. And to be able to mentally go, I want to give up, I want to give up, I want to give up, but I'm not going to freaking give up. I'm going to fight through this. That aspect, I think, is one of the most powerful things you can do. Because then when you get done with it, you're like, Oh my God, I was able to push through it. Right. I've gotten out of the cold showers early before because I was like, I don't think I can do this. And then it feels like disappointment. And I'm like, you know what? Like there was a point in time when I was younger,
Starting point is 00:12:56 where I constantly felt disappointed in myself, the world around me and the people that were around me as well. And I've made a decision in my head. I'm not going to be disappointed anymore. I'm going to build up my self-esteem. I'm going to build up my confidence. I'm going to build up this person, this Rob Dial that exists now in this modern day is not the same Rob Dial that I was a year ago, 10 years ago, 13 years ago when I first got into this stuff. 13 years ago, I was a completely different person. I was lazy. I made excuses. I was just a different person, but by pushing myself, I was able to find my new self. And I think just in, you know, the micro version of that is waking up each morning, doing something that I don't want to do, hopping in a cold shower and then pushing myself through
Starting point is 00:13:39 it, breathing through it. So for those of you guys that are out there and you're like, you know what? I trust this guy. Try it. Just try it out. Try to take 30 seconds today, tomorrow, whenever it is. And, you know, slowly turn it to cold. And for those of you guys that join the Iron Mind 60, eventually I'm going to tell you guys more about it. I'm going to teach you and walk you through how to go through each aspect of it. But for those of you guys that are just listening and you're just like, you know what? I'm going to try it.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Turn that MF-er to cold. Freaking ride with it. Go with it. Just see what you can do. And when you want to give up, here's the key. When you want to give up, push past it. And then you're going to feel amazing when you get out because it's literally better than drinking a cup of coffee because your body starts to wake itself up. So if you're out there and you're like, you know what? Screw it. I'm up for a challenge. I want to challenge myself. I know Rob likes to challenge himself. Maybe I'll try the same.
Starting point is 00:14:25 I would say go ahead, try it out. Put it to cold and go for at least 30 seconds. If you really want to challenge yourself, put on one song. Ready? Put on one song and stay in for the cold for the entire song. And if you guys like it, screw it. Send me an email. Send me an email.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Rob at MWFmotivation.com. Rob at MWFmotivation.com. Send me an email. Send me an email. Rob at MWF motivation.com. Rob at MWF motivation.com. Send me an email. Let me know what you guys have thought. Let me know what you think of, of the cold showers. Let me know if you felt a mental barrier breakthrough. I would love this. I would love for whoever goes and does this and get some sort of mental breakthrough. Send me an email. Rob at MWFation.com. I want to see some testimonies and I want to read them out to people on some of the upcoming episodes
Starting point is 00:15:09 so that people can be like, holy crap. I listened to him and I thought that he was weird by saying this, but now I'm listening to testimonies of people who have pushed themselves. So you don't all have to, but if you're out there and you're like, you know what, I want to email this guy and let him know.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Send me an email. Maybe I'll read it out on the upcoming podcast. But once again, if you guys are interested in pushing yourself and getting onto the wait list, when all of the information finally gets settled, when we figure everything out, I got to go with my marketing team. They've got to put everything together. I've got to figure out my dates, all that stuff. Go to www.coachwithrob.com slash 60 slash 60 and put yourself on the wait list. It uh, you know, put yourself on the wait list. It doesn't cost anything to put yourself on the wait list. That's for sure. And we'll send the information to you whenever we do decide to launch it. So with that, I'm gonna leave you the same
Starting point is 00:15:53 way I leave every single episode, make it your mission to make somebody else's day better. I appreciate you all. I hope you have an amazing day. I'm so frigging excited to start this thing with you guys. I'm so excited to get to know you and see your faces and know your lives and see the struggles and see you fight past it. And then at the end of the 60 days on day 61, you're like, holy crap, I'm a different person. Like I'm literally smiling just thinking about how amazing it's going to be. So I'm excited to go through with you guys. But I love you all and I hope you have an amazing day.
