Welcome to today's episode of the Mindset Mentor Podcast. I'm your host, Rob Dial. And

I'm going to go ahead and warn you, I already know I'm going to cuss a lot in this episode.
So if you get offended by cussing, this is probably not the one for you. If you love cussing, this is the one for you. So the reason why is because I put out a lot of videos on Instagram and Facebook and all that
stuff. If you don't know, maybe you've never seen it, but I get a lot of responses that are very
similar inside of the comments. And I want to talk about that. And, uh, you know, I have videos that have done
over a billion views total on Facebook and then Instagram and all those added together.
And, um, the thing that I see on every single post that I make, whether it's a quote,
whether it's a video that I've made, whether it's me sharing somebody else's quote or video,
almost every single time, almost every single time,
basically every single time, somebody always says, if not multiple people have to say,
easier said than done. And it's just like, my response to that is no shit. Of course it is.
Everything in this world is easier said than done. Everything. Because here you go,
because you either move your mouth or you move your ass.
And it's a lot easier. Like for me, I'm just standing up talking into a mic right now.
But if I were to say, oh, you know, well, I want to make a million dollars this year.
It's very easy to say, I want to make a million dollars this year. That's simple. That's easy.
But for me to go out and actually make a million dollars this year is going to take energy. It's going to take day after day after day after day and hard work and
commitment and all of that stuff. So of course, it's easier said than done. That's the most
ridiculous comment ever because everything is easier said than done. But I want you to think
about this. How many talkers do you know in your life?
Not action takers.
How many talkers do you know in your life?
Think about that one for a second.
Are you one of them?
Lots of times.
Are you one of them?
Because the thing that I hear from a lot of people, I notice is a lot of people say,
oh yeah, you know what?
Like I would love to be in shape.
Well, cool. We'll get your ass to the gym, start eating the food that you need to, right?
Like that's just, it's one in one equals two. If you want to be in shape, you're going to have to
do something about it, right? It's so much easier to be like, oh, well, you know, I want to be in
shape, but it's just not part of my genetics. I want to be in shape, but I just don't really
have the body type. I want to be in shape. I just, I've never really been athletic in my life. I want to be in shape,
but I don't live close to a gym. I want to be in shape, but I live in a small town,
so I can't get the healthy food that I want, right? It's easy to talk. It's hard to put in
work. And so what type of person are you? What type of person have you been? Have you been a
talker or have you been a doer? Because you have to have a GSD attitude, a get shit done attitude. You have to GSD, just get shit done. The best part
about, you know, here's the thing. What usually holds people back from actually going and creating
the life that they want, the relationship they want, the business that they want, the body that
they want, the mindset that they want, the bank account that they want, the family that they want, the body that they want, the mindset that they want, the bank account that they want, the family that they want, is that they're too busy thinking and not doing.
They're not actually putting in the work. And you have to have a get shit done attitude.
And here's the thing. A lot of times people aren't taking action because they don't truly
believe in themselves. And so I want to ask you this question. Do you truly believe in yourself?
So you could say, listen, I want to become a millionaire. And once I want to ask you this question. Do you truly believe in yourself? So you could
say, listen, I want to become a millionaire. And once again, these could be used anytime I talk
about money, it could always be replaced with anything else. It's just an easy thing to talk
about because it's numerical. We can actually put a number to it. So you could say, I want to make
a million dollars this year. Like I said before, I want to make a million dollars this year. Yeah,
that's great. But do you have the actual mental fortitude to put in the work? Here's the best part about believing
in yourself is that you don't have to believe in yourself in order to take action. Let that one
sink into your soul, into your bones, into every cell and fiber of your body. You don't have to
believe in yourself in order to take action. And when I realized this, it was
probably about 15, 16 years ago when I first started in a sales company. And I did not believe
that I can make a whole lot of sales because it was, I was, you know, young. I'd never done
anything like this before. I was 19 years old. I was like, oh my gosh, I don't know if I can do
this. I don't know. I just know that all of these people around me are just getting on the phone
and they're literally just saying the exact same thing off of a sales script. And I was like, I guess I'll just
do that. And so I didn't really believe that people would set up appointments with me, but
then I started doing exactly what everyone else is doing. And I just put in the work and I ended
up setting up some appointments and some of those appointments turned into sales and I got better
and I got better and I got better. And then I was making more money
than all of my friends were when I was 19, 20 years old. And I was like, this is insane. This
is amazing. I love this, but I didn't believe in myself. I didn't have to believe in myself in
order to pick up the phone and actually hit the numbers. See, there's the belief and there's a
taking action, but most people think that they have to believe in themselves in order to take action. And that is complete BS. You don't have to believe in yourself
in order to create action. You have to have the GSD attitude. I don't believe in myself,
but I'm going to get shit done anyways. It's the difference between moving your mouth
versus moving your ass. Oh, you know, I want to be in shape. Well, then get in shape. Stop talking about it. Do it.
Don't tell it to people. It's like if you're in a relationship with someone and they're just like,
I love you. Oh my goodness. I love you so much. Oh geez. I just love you. I love you.
And then there's no actions that show it, right? You don't want someone that just moves their
mouth. You want someone who actually shows you how much they love you, how much they believe in
you, how much they want to be with you. There's a lot of talkers in the world. There's very few doers.
If you're going to create the life that you want, you're going to have to do,
oh, I want to be in shape. I just don't have the body. I want to be in shape,
but you know, I just really, you know, the food just doesn't work well. I just, I just,
I want to be in shape, but like, there's just certain types of foods that just doesn't work well. I just, I just, I want to be in shape, but like,
there's just certain types of foods that just don't work with my body and I hold more weight.
Cool. Yeah. Maybe your body is different than everybody else's because everybody's is different, but that's not an excuse to not have the body that you want. It just means that you're going
to have to make adjustments. You're going to have to do something different. Maybe you're
going to have to work harder. Maybe you're going to have to eat less. Maybe you have to change your
diet in completely different ways.
It's the difference between saying you want to be in shape versus working out every single day versus finding out what your body does well with and what your body doesn't do well with.
Stop talking, start doing.
Slash mindset.
All right, let's get you back to the show right now.
And this is for everything in life. Losing weight, making money, building a
business, building a beautiful relationship, building the happiness that you want, building
the mindset that you want, building the family that you want. It goes back to last week's episode
of instant gratification versus delayed gratification. Instant gratification is I
want to be in shape, but instead of actually getting up and doing something, I make an excuse as to why I'm not
in shape. Oh God, I would love to be in shape, but you know what? I just don't have the genetics for
that. I guess I'm gonna go ahead and eat this Twinkie now, right? Versus delayed gratification
is I don't care what type of body I have. I don't care what type of deficiencies I might have.
Sure, I might have something worse than other people.
I have a friend who's literally got no legs and he's way more shredded than I am.
He's got no legs.
That's the perfect excuse he could have used.
But he's shredded.
He literally has a bike where he uses his arms as the actual, he moves the pedals and
he goes hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and
hundreds of miles. He's going to complete something that's going to, you know, in the next
year or so, he's going to do a challenge. It's going to be thousands of miles and he's got no
arms. So what's your excuse? Your metabolism, your children that you have to take care of,
the lack of time, the lack of resources, the lack of money.
What is it? What is your excuse? Because you can either live or die by your excuses.
And you can either go, that is my excuse. And I'm going to go ahead and get past it. Or you can say,
that's my excuse. And I'm just going to, I'm just going to live by it. That's the way it's going to
be. It's instant gratification versus delayed gratification. Going back to that as well.
Delayed gratification is having the body that you want, you know, working out, putting in the work, eating the
food that, you know, might not be as good as all the sugary and fatty foods that you want,
but it's better for your body. Your body's going to run better. Or the instant gratification where,
oh, this tastes good. I'm going to eat it. As Joe Rogan calls it, he calls it, I love the phrase,
mouth pleasure. Oh yeah, you just shove that thing in your face for mouth pleasure, just for
that 10 seconds of it being inside of your mouth, your taste buds hitting it, and then you get it
down and that's it. Now you've got to go and get more because there is no more mouth pleasure yet.
So are you working for mouth pleasure or are you working for long-term pleasure?
I always tell people you got to love your body. If you love your body, you want to treat it well.
You don't want to put crappy stuff into it. It's the GSD attitude. You got to get shit done.
You look around and you say, okay, you know what? I do want to be in shape. I'm going to clear out
all of this shit that's inside of my pantry that doesn't serve me, that isn't good. You know what?
I don't know a lot about nutrition, but you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to research. I'm going to start
figuring out about nutrition. I'm going to start learning more about nutrition and what's good for
me, what's not good for me. Looking at the nutritional, my girlfriend says that I ruin
all foods for her. And the reason why is because I just read the box. That's it. That's literally
all I do. I just read the box. And then I just let people know that here's the biggest thing that I realized once I started getting into fitness. And once I started
like paying attention and researching all this stuff, and I started flipping the actual box over
and reading it, I was like, Oh my God, they're full of crap. Like this is not good for you.
This whole thing is that says, Oh, it's fat free. Well, that means that it's processed more.
So it's overly processed. That's not good for your body. Oh, there's less sugars. Oh, but there's no
sugar in it, but there's, oh my gosh, there's a whole bunch of other things that are inside of it.
You know, maltodextrin and circulose and all of these different things and, you know, things that
can leave lesions in your brain. And you're like, oh my God, maybe I should research this more
because I want to take care of this body. I want to be in good shape. I want to have the energy to play with my kids
when I'm older, play with my grandkids when I'm in my seventies. But I know if I eat this stuff,
I'm probably not going to have the body and I might not even be here, right? It's the instant
gratification versus the delay gratification. Is it going to take more time to get the body that
you want? Absolutely. Is it going to take more time to get the business that you want? Hell yeah. Are you going to get punched in the face
every single morning from your business? Hell yeah. That's what I tell people is being an
entrepreneur, it's supposed to look sexy. And you have people like, oh, I want to be an entrepreneur.
And you see these people have these big houses and then they take these Instagram photos with
Ferraris and Lamborghinis and all of those things. You're like, oh my God, I want that life. But I
say being an entrepreneur is basically like signing up to get punched in the face every single morning.
Lo and behold, there's a pretty good chance that there's going to be some sort of fire that you
need to put out each day. That's just the way it goes. But you could get the instant gratification
of, I'll just stay at this job because it's easy. I'll just stay with this job because it pays the
bills or the delay gratification
of work, work, work, work, work, work, work. And maybe in two, three, four, five years,
then you're going to start having the life that you've always wanted. So it's the difference
between just letting life happen to you and just saying, oh, easier said than done,
which of course, no shit. Everything in this world is easier said than done
because literally saying something only requires you to move your lips versus actually getting up
and doing it. So you have to have the get shit done attitude. So that's what I got for you for
today's episode. If you love this episode, please share it on your Instagram right now.
