Welcome to today's episode of the Mindset Mentor Podcast. I'm your host, Rob Dial. And
if you have not yet done so, hit that subscribe button so that you never miss another podcast
episode. And if you're out there and you love this podcast, do me a massive, massive favor.
Take your phone out, go to however you listen to this podcast,
and give us a rating and review, and let us know what you think of it. The more positive rating and reviews that we get, the more that those platforms show this podcast to people who
have never listened before. I know statistically, we have hundreds of thousands of people that
listen to every single episode, but we only have about 20,000 people on Spotify who have rated it,
and we only have about 10,000 people on Spotify who have rated it, and we only have about
10,000 people on Apple Podcasts who have rated it. So that means that less than one out of 10 people
basically is actually rating these. So if you would do me a favor, don't be one of those nine
out of 10, be one of those one out of 10, give us a rating review. I'd greatly, greatly appreciate it.
Today, we're going to be talking about how do you create an amazing life? Is it possible for you to create
the life that you see in your mind for yourself? And I want to talk about this and start with an
amazing story of something that actually happened today. So I'm going to tell you a story. This
morning we did on our team huddle, our sales team huddle, we had about, I think we have 17 people
that are on that call. And we run it every single morning. We've been running it every single morning for years.
And we did a visualization process today. And what we did was we did a same visualization
and breathing process that we used to do a couple of years ago. So back in 2020,
we used to do this visualization and breathing process every single morning. We put on the exact
same song, we do the exact same breathing, and we would talk about visualizing the life that you
want and visualizing what it would feel like to have that life. And so this is a few years ago,
we used to do this. And so we did the exact same thing. We haven't done in probably
at least a year. And we did the exact same thing, exact same song.
And at the end we get done and we're about to run our sales huddle and everyone's about to talk and
give their reflections. And one of our team members who's been with us for about two and a
half years now gets on. And just so you have an idea of who he is, he's a big guy. He's about
six foot one, 210, 215 pounds, long beard, big old beard, long hair.
And I've known him for probably 16 years, never seen him cry in 16 years.
And he was like bawling this morning.
And he's like, I have a reflection from the visualization process.
And he's sitting there and he's bawling and telling us.
And he's like, as soon as that song came on, which is the same song we used to play a couple of years ago, he goes, as soon as the song came on,
I felt myself back into where I was a couple of years ago when we used to do this. And he
had left a really, really toxic job where he's making a bunch of money, but it was super toxic
and he hated it. And he came over and started working with us. And he used to visualize,
he was in a one bedroom apartment in Fort Lauderdale. And he used to visualize, he was in a one-bedroom apartment in Fort Lauderdale.
And he used to say, you know, it was crazy because I would put one arm out, my left arm
out, my right arm out, and one of them would be hitting my speaker in my living room and
the other one would be hitting my couch.
Like that's how small my place was.
And I remember visualizing and writing down my goals every single day with you guys and
visualizing and writing down my goals every single day.
single day with you guys and visualizing and writing down my goals every single day.
And one of them was to have a house that was by my family and a place that had a pool and a place that had some space so I could have my own office instead of having to work from my kitchen table.
And he was telling of where he was before, and he's crying because he literally realized
that the place that he was in now, a couple years later,
was a place that he had been visualizing and dreaming of and writing down inside of his goals
for an entire year. And so it was crazy to see this and this process unfold because,
you know, over time we work on ourselves, we get better, we work on ourselves, we get better,
things change and stuff. But a lot of times you don't reverse and see how far we've actually come. And it was cool to see how far he's
come where he went from a one bedroom apartment in Fort Lauderdale to now living in Tampa and
having a four bedroom house and this pool that's outside and all of this stuff that he wanted
before. And he felt like it was possible, but he was visualizing and writing it down and visualizing
and writing it down. And it was cool to see how
the visualization process and the writing down process of your goals can help you manifest your
goals. And I've told this story before on the podcast, but one of the things that I love most
about writing down goals is seeing them happen when you have forgotten about them. And I've told
this story before, but back in 2007,
I remember writing down my goals. There was a guy that came into our company and he was like,
we're going to write down a hundred goals in every category. And you know, your love life
and your bank account and your career and what you want to achieve and where you want to travel
to and all this stuff. And it was in 2007. And I remember it said 2017 or 2007 on the left side of paper in 2017 on the left side of the paper in 2017 on the other side
of the paper. And that was what I had. And then everything that I wanted. And I remember finding
this, this notebook in realizing that in 2007, I wrote down that by 2017, I wanted to have a black
Rolex Submariner. It was like this watch that I wanted. And for anybody who knows watches,
I love watches. I have, I don't know why I've always loved watches since I was a kid.
And, um, and what's crazy about is they're really, really hard to get. Like they're just
almost impossible to get near impossible to walk into a Rolex dealership and get one.
And somehow, some way knew someone who knew someone who knew someone was able to get one.
And I wrote down in my journal back in 2007 2007 that I wanted that watch by December of 2017, by the end of 2017. And I got that watch
December 14th, 2017. And it was crazy because I forgot about the goal and then got the watch and
then found the actual journal itself, you know, a 10-year-old journal at that time and realized, holy shit, I forgot about this.
But I was able to make it happen near subconsciously.
And I want you to realize that the thing about it
is it's not about the watch.
Who gives a shit about the watch?
It's not about the things.
It's not about, you know, our team member's house,
any of those things.
It's who you need to become in order to get that thing
or who you need to become in order to achieve that life that you want or who you need to become in
order to build the business that allows you to have the freedom to travel or who you need to
become that allows you to build the business to be able to have more free time with your family
or get the Lamborghini or whatever it is the hell that you want. Cause there's nothing wrong with wanting and having and getting materialistic stuff,
but it depends on why you're getting it. Right. And one of our other team members spoke up,
we were talking about this still this morning and one of our other team members spoke up and
she's like, Hey, I remember you saying that Rolex story like a year ago. I remember hearing it in a
podcast. And she's like, at that point in time, the one thing I wanted more than anything else, I've always wanted it since I was younger,
was a Jeep. And she's like, I remember writing down the goal, thinking about it, visualizing it,
knowing it was going to happen. And now I have the Jeep that I want. And so it's really cool
because it's not about the buying of the things, It's who you need to become in that process of achieving
that thing and getting that thing. It could be a relationship that you want and writing down
what the perfect relationship looks like and getting very clear on what that thing looks like
and what it would feel like to have that relationship. It could be traveling and where
you want to travel to and how soon you want
to travel and how much money you'll need to make in order to be able to travel. And maybe, like I
said, building a business that allows you to be able to travel while making money still and be
able to pay your bills. Maybe it's the joy that you want and planning out what does joy mean to
me and what would it look like and how would I know when I get this level of joy that I want
and how do I make a plan to get there? and then visualizing and thinking about it and feeling it
in your body of what it would feel like to have that joy. Maybe it's internal peace and what that
would feel like. Brain health like our physical health is a daily challenge and a lifelong
commitment. You don't just work out once and then expect to be physically fit. When it comes to your
brain, making those daily lifestyle choices can help you with overall brain
and cognitive health. Taking that first step towards better cognition and improved brain
health is easy with first person. After witnessing the deteriorating effects Alzheimer's had on their
father and grandfather's cognitive health, brothers Chris and Joe were determined to take their brain
health into their own hands. And after 25 years of dedicated research in cognitive health and wellness,
Chris and Joe, both with industry-leading doctors and scientists, created First Person.
First Person is a targeted brain supplement system which uses a brain-boosting power of
mushrooms to activate the full potential of human cognition and brain health.
First Person supplements are made with functional mushrooms that aim to stimulate the body's
natural production of specific neurotransmitters that trigger activities like energy, mood, and sleep.
With daily usage, they support long-term brain health.
First-person uses 100% grain-free organic mushrooms as well as highly curated brand of nutraceuticals sourced from best in-class vendors.
And the one that I think that most people on this podcast would be interested in is called Sunbeam, which is made for focus and motivation. So start improving your brain health and cognition with First Person.

are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. And so the reason why I'm
going through this is because number one, it was really cool, but it's easy to talk through stories
and then break those stories down. And you've heard me say it so many times, almost ad nauseum. And sometimes you need to hear
something over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again before
it finally sticks and you actually do it. Like if you've been listening to this podcast for a long
time, you've been hearing me say, you need to write down your goals. You've been hearing me say,
Harvard did a study in the 1970s where they actually went to everybody who was graduating
with an MBA and they found out that only 3% of them wrote down their goals. And 10 years later in the 1980s, they followed up with
all of those people and found out that those 3% were 10 times more successful than the 97% combined.
You've heard me say that shit, right? So it's not like you haven't heard me say it, but then the
question is, are you actually doing it? Because sometimes you need to hear it over and over and
over and over again before it finally sticks in your head. You're like, all right,
shit, I'm going to actually do this. And so the first thing that I want you to get from this story
and what I'm talking about is that you have to write down your goals. You have to figure out
what it is that you want. The thing that I know about my team member that I was telling you about
who is emotional this morning is that he writes down his goals. I know this for a member that I was telling you about who is emotional this morning is that he
writes down his goals. I know this for a fact because I've seen his notebooks. He writes down
his 10 most important goals, his 10 biggest goals every single night, every single night.
Now, is he writing down the exact same thing every single night? Pretty much. Maybe they change around
a little bit, but he's writing down pretty much the exact same thing. Why would he do that? Well,
because when he's about to go to bed, he's trying to program his subconscious into focusing
on achieving that. Like it was cool to see that he had found his notebook while we were talking
this morning and he had his 10 things and you were able to see the things that he was able to cross
off his top 10 biggest goals. He was able to cross the majority of them off. You know, one of them
was be able to come a purple belt in jujitsu. He's got that now. One of them was be able to cross the majority of them off. You know, one of them was be able to come a purple belt in jujitsu.
He's got that now.
One of them was be able to go skydiving and to be able to get certified to go by himself.
He goes skydiving like every other weekend by himself now.
And so you have to write down your goals.
If you keep hearing me say it, the question is, are you actually doing it?
And the reason why it's important is because when you write it down, it becomes real in
this world.
It becomes real. And when it's on paper, it can be planned. When it's in your head,
it's really hard to plan out the steps to get something to accomplish that thing,
right? And so when you actually sit down and have it on paper, now you can start to plan it out.
And when you have it on paper, the other thing that it makes you do is it makes you get more
detailed, which is very important because that brings us to our next step. So you write them down. The next thing is to visualize them. Visualize
those goals. And the more detail that you have around those goals, the easier that it makes it
for you to visualize what those goals will look like and actually the achievement of those goals,
what it will look like when you get there and how you know you hit it and what it would take to get there, right? Visualize the process. Don't
visualize just the achievement of the goal, but visualize the actual process and what it's going
to take from you to get there. So what you do, you visualize it. And here's the important part
that I think is really left out from visualization. It's great to sit there and to see it as much
you possibly can. Sometimes some people are really good at visualization. Some people don't see
anything. It doesn't matter. It's about actually doing it. And the important thing that's always
left out of visualization, because visualization, we automatically think, see it. Besides just
seeing it, one of the most important parts is to actually feel that actual achievement of
the goal inside of your body. What would it feel like to achieve that goal? What would it feel,
how proud of yourself would you be to get to that goal and know what you had to overcome
and the challenges you had to get through and the mindset issues you had to get through in
order to get to that goal. How proud
of yourself would you be? So you write them down, you visualize it. And then here's a really,
really important part. You have to release the win. What do I mean by that? You have to release
when I'm going to get it. One of the biggest mistakes I think that people make is obviously,
I want you to plan your goals and I want you to say, hey, by the end of this year,
I want to have X, Y, Z. But you have to have a little bit of openness to, I will get it when I deserve it. Once again, I said, it's not about achieving the thing. It's about who you need to
become in order to achieve that thing. And so you're not going to get that thing until you are the type of person
that can get it. And so you have to release the win and you have to just be consistent with becoming
the type of person that is able to have that life. You have to be consistent with the process. You
have to put in the fucking work. And this is the problem that a lot of people have. They want to
think about their goals. They want to talk about it, be awesome, but they don't want to do any work. You have to do the work.
Everybody wants a six pack, but how many people actually go to the gym and put in the damn work?
Very few. And so you have to just release the wind, trust the process, do what you need to do,
put the work in, be consistent. And just trust.
Trust that if you stay on this path and you go towards this goal and you're walking this road
and you're putting in the right actions, you're in the right direction, you're taking the right
actions, eventually time will work itself out. Just trust that. What you have to make sure of
is that you're thinking about that goal, whatever it is that
you want, whatever success means to you, whatever happiness, joy, peace, all of those things,
whatever those things mean to you, you have to make sure that that's what you're focusing on.
Because what do we know? We know most people focus on what they don't want more than they
focus on what they do want. And then they get more of what they don't want. Why? Because you are a masterful creator. You are creating at every single moment, whether you realize it or not.
And whether you're intentionally or unintentionally doing it, most people are unintentionally
creating. But you are creating the future at every single second, whether you're doing something,
not doing something, deciding to lay on the couch and scroll on Instagram or just stare at the ceiling, you're creating a future with every single
thing that you do.
You are a masterful creator.
And the more that you focus on something, the more likely you are to get it.
But if you're focusing on what you don't want, I can promise you this, your future is going
to be full of things that you don't want.
You've got to switch your mind and focus on things that you do want.
And so you've got to be able to write down your goals, visualize them, and release the expectation of when it's
going to happen, but just know that it is going to happen. You created every aspect of your life
that you have right now. If that's the case, why don't you actually start to create every aspect
of the future life that you want right now? Because that is how you create the life that you want.
