Welcome to the MWF Motivation Podcast, one of the top-rated motivational podcasts in the world.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I come out with a short, to-the-point, no-BS podcast
designed to transform you from who you are today into who you want to be. There's no fluff here,
just life-changing content. My name is Rob Dial and the podcast starts now.
Today, what we're going to be talking about is how to make $100,000 in a year.
The title is maybe the sexiest title I've ever had for a podcast. How to make $100,000 in a year. The title is maybe the sexiest title I've ever had for a podcast.
How to make $100,000. How to make $100,000 a year. That's amazing. That's beautiful.
Most people want to do that. But what we're going to be talking about today more than anything else
is we're going to be talking about your glass ceiling because we all have a glass ceiling.
Where you are now is because that is the minimum
of what you deem acceptable. And you've heard me say this in the past couple weeks.
And you're hitting a glass ceiling. We're all hitting a glass ceiling.
We have to learn to level up. We have to expand our mindset and what is acceptable to us.
The way this came up is I had a client and I basically was going over the business. My client's
only main goal and what I am working, putting blood, sweat, and tears into this one-on-one
coaching client is their goal is to make $100,000 in a year. And they've never really even gotten
close to that. But they hired me because they said, you know what? If I invest in myself,
gotten close to that, but they hired me because they said, you know what? If I invested myself,
I know that there's some sort of way he can help me get to a hundred thousand dollars.
And so he said, you know, I'm, I know this is going to be like the hardest thing that I've ever done, but I want you to give me like an idea. Will it be hard because I have to put a lot of
hard work into it? Will it be hard because I have to make a lot of adjustments or because I have to
get a lot of sleepless nights or because I'm going to be working on the weekends or because I have to feel
more productive and figure out ways to be more productive? And all of these questions about
working harder and working harder and trying to figure out this. And what I'm going to say to you
is going to be the most unsexy thing for making $100,000. So I apologize up front, but this is the truth. I said the hardest
thing for you will be normalizing the feeling of making $100,000. That's going to be the hardest
thing because here's the thing. Everybody who has never made $100,000 in a year wants to make
$100,000 in a year. That's like for some reason, that's like the first level people want to get to. Most people will never make anywhere near that though. I think the
average person makes $45,000 a year. So $100,000 is more than twice what the average person makes.
That's a lot of money in their head. So once you realize that it's not a lot of money,
$100,000 is not a lot of money,
and you hit $100,000, then you want to get to $200,000. And then once you get to $200,000,
you realize that's not enough. And it's just, it's the way that it goes. These are steps that
I've gone through. I've done all this stuff before. So the main thing that you have to realize,
the main thing that you have to become comfortable with is the feeling of making $100,000
a year. You have to normalize it. And if you don't understand what I mean, I'm going to give you
the explanation of normalize in just a minute. If you keep thinking that $100,000 a year
is a lot of money, you will never make it. And this is interesting. Let me explain to you how your mind works.
If you think that making $100,000 in a year is a lot of money, if you think $100,000 is a lot of
money, you will never make it. The reason why is because your brain makes connections because
that's how your brain works. So let me explain to you. You might be thinking, I want to make a hundred thousand dollars, but your brain is trying to make connections and associations because that's
how our brain works. Because if you're saying, this is what happens. You say, I want to make
a hundred thousand dollars a year. Why is that? Because it's a lot of money. Here's what your
brain thinks. It's a lot of money, which must mean it will require a lot of work, which means that it's going to require a lot of
time for me, which means if it requires a lot of time, it's probably really hard.
And if it's really hard, I probably won't be able to get there. So your brain is making these
connections in your head subconsciously without you realizing it. And your mind pushes it away because it relates making $100,000 to being hard.
Let me explain how this works again. Your mind, if it's $100,000 is a lot to you.
It must, your brain says, well, if it's a lot of money, it must require a lot of work,
which means that it requires a lot of time, which means it's going to be really hard.
So therefore, $100,000 equals really hard. That's how it works. That's how your brain works. And
your brain is pushing it away. So in order for us to not think that it's hard and not a lot of money,
it away. So in order for us to not think that it's hard and not a lot of money, we must normalize the feeling of making $100,000. You have to make $100,000 in a year in your mind before you do it
in real life. You have to normalize the feeling of owning $100,000. And I talk a lot about this
in episode 86. So if you have not listened to episode 86, actually the whole series of, I think it was like
84, 85, 86 or 85, 86, 87, something like that, that whole series, I think it's 84, 85, 86.
That series, those three episodes, you need to listen to them. When I talk about normalizing,
I talk about the law of attraction. Normalizing the feeling is what we want. And what that means
is that it's normal for you. It feels normal.
So instead of it feeling like it's a lot of money, it feels like it's a normal amount of money.
And I talked about this a couple of weeks ago. I said, where you are now is where you
will be at the minimum. That's the minimum of what you deem acceptable.
I'll give you an example. You ever gotten a new car and it is amazing and you are
so freaking fired up about how amazing this car is. And then a year down the road, you're like,
I want another car. That car before you got it was amazing. When you first got it, it was so
amazing. But then you normalize the feeling of getting that car. And here's the thing.
Once you get to that level, you've normalized that level of having that car. And here's the thing. Once you get to that level, you've normalized that
level of having that car. Anything below that level is now unacceptable to you. You won't go
from your nice car that was so amazing to a crappier car. You won't do that because that is
now your floor. You can only look up from there. So what I'm talking about is you've normalized the feeling of that car, which means you can
only get that car or something equivalent to that or more, or else you will not be happy
with it.
That's the way that it works with normalizing this feeling of making $100,000 in your mind.
You have to own it in your mind before you own it in real life. Another example of this is
if you've ever been to a giant, beautiful, amazing house. I speak about this in the law of attraction
where you go into this beautiful, amazing house. And if you know somebody you've been, the first
time you walk in, you're like, oh my gosh, this is amazing. This house is so freaking amazing.
It's beautiful. This house is nuts. It's the nicest house I've ever been in.
And then the next time you go to it, you're like, man, this house is really nice. And you go to it
three or four or five more times. And the 10th time you go to the house, you're like, yeah,
this house is nice, but I'm not in awe of it like I was the first time I was here.
Because you've normalized the feeling of being in that house. If you ever want something,
you have to normalize the feeling of having it. $100,000 is exactly that way. And what I say in
episode 86 is if you want to make $100,000, how you normalize the feeling is you take all of the
money out of your bank account and your bank is going to hate you for it. But let's say you have
$1,000 in your bank account.
And let's say your goal is to make $100,000 this year.
You need to take that $1,000 and you need to count it out in 20s and 100s, 50s, whatever it is that you want.
Count out that $100,000 with that $1,000 that you have.
So what I'm saying is if you have a thousand, you'll go 100,
200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, a thousand. You count it out, you pick it back up and you go
1,100, 1,200, 1,300, 1,400, 1,500, 1,600, 1,700, 8, 9, 10. It's 2,000. Pick it back up. 2,100.
And you do this over and over and over again. And you see
the money in your hand and you going through it, which is making your subconscious go,
yes, okay, this isn't that bad because I'm actually doing this in real life.
Your subconscious is normalizing the feeling of a hundred thousand dollars.
So in order for you to make a hundred,000, it's not going to,
I mean, it will require harder work. It will require more resources, thinking better,
being smarter, working smarter, not harder, all of these things. But what it's going to be more
than anything else is you realizing that you have to normalize the standard of making $100,000.
You can't think of it as hard. You have to think of
it as normal. Why? Because you have to raise your frequency. You can't attract something that is not
in the same frequency as you. And if that makes no sense to you, then you definitely have to go
back to, I think it's episode 84, where I talk about the law of attraction. You cannot have
something that
you're not in frequency with. And it sounds crazy. I get it. I'm one of the most skeptical
people in the world. That sounds like the most woo-woo thing ever. I'm surprised that I'm even
saying you have to be tuned in with the universe and with the frequencies, but it is not something
that is fake. I promise you go back and listen to it and it'll make so much sense to you.
fake. I promise you, go back and listen to it and it'll make so much sense to you.
You have to put your frequency, switch off of the $50,000 a year frequency and switch on to the $100,000 a year frequency. Because if you're not on that frequency, you will never get there. You
will never tune into a radio station unless you are on the right frequency. You will never make
$100,000 in a year unless you're on the right frequency. So the hardest part of making $100,000 in a year is believing and knowing
deep down that you can make $100,000 in a year. That is the hardest part of it. And then from
there, we can start talking about you making a few hundred thousand dollars a year. And then we can
start talking about millions. I have coached somebody that has made
multiple millions of dollars because of the fact that he is now one of the star wide receivers in
the NFL. So I can help you with that if it is something that you're interested in. So with that,
